Gisellia was so welcoming! I stepped into such a wonderful variety of gorgeous pastries in their glass display cases! They even had sugar-free options. I was admiring the cute artwork created on some of the cupcakes. There were sharks and piggies featured. It was so cute. French and Italian pastries! There is a nice seating area and we were open to sit wherever! We sat near the wall because there were all sorts of photos of the history of this family 's bakery. My bff ordered to get a lovely salad !! I ordered a spinach cheddar mushroom omelette, and it was absolutely delicious and I took half of it home! I had to leave just a little bit of room for a piece of apricot rughela! Santa cachucha ! So delicious. We also brought home. A shark cupcake! It really had such a nice welcoming family feel & I felt like a cousin. I would definitely come back.

Omelette/Frittata

Food was fine but overall a little bland across the board. The chicken and waffles especially so, maybe so as to give the espresso maple syrup a chance to shine. Everyone enjoyed the breakfast potatoes, they were cubed and crispy and well seasoned. The lemon regatta pancakes did not have any lemon taste to them, and there was no evidence of lemon zest which was included in the menu ingredients. Service was fine, food took a bit to come out, but it was very busy during brunch so that's to be expected. The frittata wasn't really a frittata either, it was more like an egg crêpe with the vegetables sitting on top. The best part of the visit was getting pastries on the way out!

The food was delicious. Walking into the restaurant you hit the bakery area first and let's just say the temptation is real. Service was good. Family friendly environment and great tasting coffee. The decor is more Wooden chairs and tables. Great place for breakfast and prices are reasonable.

Acai Smoothie

TL;DR = Make sure to "garnish" your expectations here. Lazy execution of a smoothie with even lazier excuses. Zero stars if I could. Came here on a recommendation and ordered an Oreo cheesecake and açaí smoothie with no bananas. I was first charged for a bowl by mistake, but that was corrected, so no harm there. The $8 Acai BERRY FRUIT CUP* showed up half-blended, hidden with a pile of whole berries, none of which were listed. When I asked, the manager/owner Marco said that's how it's supposed to be and I should "just ask for no garnish next time." Right, because guessing unlisted ingredients is totally normal. So, is this a smoothie with "garnish," or just a lazy attempt at one, served with a side of even lazier management? You tell me.

Dined in this weekend for the 1st time as a 3 people brunch date. Parking was easy which i appreciated. It seems very casual, as we walked in and was instructed to seat ourselves. We ordered the mint tea smoothie. I wish there was more mint but it was refreshing. I ordered the breakfast sandwiches on a croissant and it was ok. They had a large selection of sweets and baked goods. I tried a chocolate chip cookie and it was also ok.

I would have rated 5 Stars if they had been able to serve anything other than regular coffee. We were there 1 hour before closing, but they only regular coffee was available, which was a bummer. They have a huge variety of Pastries and Cookies to choose from, and whatever we tried tasted pretty good. Macaroons were not that great, but they comped it and offered another pastry of our choosing, so +1 for Service. Cute decor with warm ambiance.

$9.95 for a side of bacon? No mam, no ham!!

The service was rather decent but the food was not. We popped in for lunch on a rainy Thursday afternoon and were able to get a table right away. The girl behind the bakery counter told us to sit wherever we wanted and that's what we did. The food was meh. I ordered a BLT and they somehow managed to mess it up. The bacon was hard as a rock and stale and so was the bread! The chicken fingers were basic- you know the ones you buy by the bag from Costco? Those! The waitress took 50% off of the price of my BLT which was nice....I guess. I sent the whole thing back and opted to not replace it with something else. The prices here are a little high for what they have to offer! $9.95 for a side of bacon is insane to me! I didn't bother trying any sweet treats. Those prices drove me right out of the door!!

we came here on a Sunday for brunch. food is pretty good but they service needs to be a lot better. they pretty much slack off and your sitting there with a empty cup of coffee for awhile. but when its to bring the bill they rush to get you out quick as possible. but other than that its a hit or miss. they have a big vireaty selection of pastries. so overall its decent.

It's been 5+ years since we last visited Bovella's (the Westfield location we visited frequently when we lived in the area). All I wanted were the rainbow cookies! The place was busy, but we were able to get what we wanted fairly quickly. Overall, the cookies were good and the coffee, was OK. rainbow cookies [5] other cookies [4] french macaroons [3] (kids rating) coffee [3.5] I will say that this location is much bigger and it has a menu as well. From what I could see, the food looked pretty good.

Blue Berry Bread Pudding French Toast

Who would give this place something less than 5 stars? I stopped by for lunch while in the area and grabbed blueberry bread pudding French toast. Phenomenal. Bacon was cooked perfectly. This was seriously phenomenal. I don't usually eat like this for lunch but this was worth the treat. And service was excellent - friendly efficient staff. Don't skip th is place!

Clearly nothing like the colors discussed - then the drawing he created was supposed to have the ball decorations cascading down the side. As you can see in the photo it looks like my 2 year old son haphazardly placed them with absolutely no care of design whatsoever. On top of the above disgraceful items when I called I was assured I would be contacted to rectify and discuss that they gave my husband at pick up a cake with THE WRONG COLORS, NO DESIGN, AND DOUBLE THE SIZE ORDERED. I was never called back, there was zero respect or apologies. Passed by this place countless times since it's on a main Street in downtown Westfield and finally…read moremade it in with my family on a Saturday morning. We were greeted as soon as we walked in... and then I quickly realized there were THREE people behind the counter. We were the only ones there for a few moments before another family walked in behind us. They had gone there before so generally knew what they wanted. Me? Not so much. Despite how many people were working at the time, there were no explanations or help... but they do respond to questions. They have a few small tables but it's a relatively small store. There are display cases filled with cookies, pastries, cupcakes, and cakes. Lots of character in there, but nothing is labeled and there are no prices other than the cookies (they're purchased by weight... 1 lb is 10 cookies). I sort of ran with it, but since I don't know the names of half the items, this will be a more general review. I grabbed a lobster tail and a sfogliatelle. They look similar at first glance... but when I asked, they are definitely NOT the same thing. In fact, she sounded a bit offended I asked. Hahaha. She mentioned something about the sfogliatelle being baked? It also comes in two sizes and I got the large. I later ate them and... I'm not too sure what the difference is because they're similar in shape. The lobster tail seems to be a flaky pastry that was cut in half and the cream piped in. The sfogliatelle was not cut but it was filled as well and I'm pretty sure they added orange zest to it... I liked that. The lobster tail didn't have any citrus that I remembered. I enjoyed them... but we ate them the next day. They weren't the crispiest then. Also got two large cannoli's filled with the regular cream. Plus a cream puff filled with "custard" (you can opt for ricotta instead). And an interesting beige white tart and a teeny fruit tart (I actually wanted the bigger fruit tart but they got the mini one instead... I didn't notice until we got home since everything is packed behind the counter). Cannolis were pretty good! Lots of cream and the shells were still crisp, but you could taste the oil since they're deep fried. I should have gotten the smaller size so the proportions would have been more balanced. The cream puff was a cream puff? Nice and light with the thick filling inside that wasn't too sweet. The fruit tart was good with a standard sweet tart shortbread crust. The mystery lattice tart thing was good as well! Not sweet and had very interesting flavors... fairly certain almonds were a part of it. Probably a version of frangipane? My daughter got a Spider-Man cupcake. Their cupcakes have a thin icing type topping instead of your typical piped frosting on top. They're also filled with a buttery frosting that isn't too sweet! I was pleasantly surprised. I was apprehensive when she was adamant on getting that cupcake because they're often overly sweet. I would like to note that a lot of their creams/custard filled goodies use the same filling. And it's not what I expected. Custard, it said. The filling was definitely more dense, not too sweet (a great thing), but also slightly grainy. I can't say they were eggy and they were far from the consistency of pudding. I'm thinking they might be ricotta based? The most loose "filling" we ate was probably the cannoli cream. Overall, I'm not sure exactly what I ate since they never really went the extra step or elaborated when I asked questions. Very to the point for a group of teenagers who were behind the counter. They were nice? But sort of uninterested. They seemed a little more enthusiastic about the other family. Oh yes. I also ordered a coffee for my husband... which wasn't rung up. I went back wondering where it was and it turns out it was forgotten about but we did eventually get it. He got a large and it is a HUGE cup. So... the goodies were pretty good. I was surprised in several ways - the fact I'm not too sure what I ordered and that they were perfectly sweet. But I found service lacking a bit. I will likely go back again if I'm in the area but I'd probably be just as clueless. We would have tried the goodies there and stayed longer but one of my kids has multiple food allergies and the place doesn't seem great for that (or for non-regulars) so we ate them later when our kid could have something as well. The pastries ended up being about $4-5 each and the cupcake was $4.50 - so the total adds up FAST. There is an automatic 3.75% service charge that was added on... not sure what that's about? The total was about $40 at the end, not including tip. My rating is a 3 because though I generally enjoyed the treats I got, I have mixed feelings due to the experience on this first visit as a whole. I'm hoping my future visits will be better.

I still believe that should have been disclosed upon ordering. I want to start by saying that the staff was very kind, and both the ordering and pickup experiences were pleasant. Everyone I interacted with was nice, and I do want to give them credit for that. That said, the cake itself just was not very good, which was the biggest disappointment. We ordered a vanilla cake with Oreo filling for my son's birthday, and unfortunately it was dense, overly sweet, and overwhelming. I didn't see a single person finish their slice, and those who did take a bite to see if they wanted their own decided against it. We ended up cutting only about 10 slices, and more than half the cake was never even cut (and thrown away). For a cake that ended up costing $220 for 15-20 people, I expected something much better. I also did not realize until I saw my credit card statement the day of the party that the total was that high, and I was not told that the basic decoration/name would add another $45. I understand they are covering themselves by saying "may include fees" but for the basic cake If the cake had been expensive but delicious, I would have felt differently. But given the taste, the amount that went uneaten, and the lack of clarity around the final price, I would not order this cake again.

There is street parking…read moreand a few parking lots in the area so we just parked at one, wanted about, and also made a stop here. As a nod to the name (Kirshenbaum is German for cherry tree), there are little cherries everywhere inside from signs to wallpaper. Ample seats, natural light, friendly staff, plus delectable treats make this place a good one to stop at. They also serve light bites but as we were sort of hopping from one place to another on a Sunday, I only ordered a few sweet treats. BLACK FOREST: my daughter picked this, likely because she thought it was a chocolate cake. But it was not your average chocolate cake. A good sized slice with moist cake, cherries, and dark chocolate bits throughout, I highly enjoyed this one. It's perfectly sweet - though I admit my daughter finished the exterior layer of frosting so the thin layered in between the cake were ideal for my taste buds. It was a bit too elevated for my daughter who only really wanted your regular chocolate cake. MATCHA CRUFFIN: This is a croissant-muffin filled with matcha cream, rolled in sugar. The laminated dough was packed so not like your airy-but-crispy-exterior croissant, nor was it noticeable buttery, but it did do its job by keeping its shape and the layers helped give its name. It was lovely to pull apart, with a nice, chewy texture. The filling wasn't exactly in the center (I shared this with my husband) so I dipped a little into the filling (borderline reminded me of pastry cream) that my husband got. It's light but also has a very nice matcha flavor that comes through. RASPBERRY LYCHEE PIE: I love pie and I was happy to find a uniquely flavored one here especially since it reminded me of my favorite ice cream flavor in Europe at Haagen Dazs years back (rose raspberry lychee) so I pounced on it. First off, this is definitely a mousse pie. We're vegetarian so a part of me wonders if gelatin was used to make this so I likely won't get this a second time without me asking the necessary questions - but it is good. As with most mousse confections, this is light and delicate in a way. Airy. Still substantial that I didn't feel cheated out of my money but not too filling. Nothing overpowered each other and the flavors and textures worked together beautifully. There were chunks of raspberries but I don't recall actual bits of lychee fruit in there, though you do get the flavor of it in there. I absolutely love the interesting flavors here and the items I got. I especially am a fan of how everything is perfectly sweet. I have a sweet tooth, but only for things that aren't too sweet and this is completely up my alley. They do have gluten free options but nothing extensive. And I'm pretty sure they include eggs. I have a kid with multiple food allergies and he couldn't have anything here so I got him a bottle of apple juice and he was content with it. I'll definitely stop by again to try more items and get a drink to go with. Maybe get my daughter a cookie since I hear they're pretty good.

The delicate, flaky cookies were like little croissants and were ribboned with a rich chocolate spread. Their version also had hints of vanilla, which I really enjoyed. I also got one of their large Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was thin, but packed with gooey bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate. It also had a light sprinkling of Maldon sea salt on the top.
