Went here for a company function. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun! The lights over the pins changed color and the overall mood was great! The food was normal bowling alley food: pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks,etc but were still very good compared to some other places. I didn't have any hard alcohol, but was pleased that they served Mango Cart. I've bowled most of my life and these lanes were definitely for entertainment purposes only. I've never bowled where the pins are attached to strings. This causes some reactions to occur that normally don't in conventional lanes. The lanes reacted well to different types of throws (hook, back up, etc.). This location is at the Irvine Spectrum and is on the 2nd floor next to Planet Fitness. If you plan on taking any equipment like I did, then anything with wheels will click pretty loudly through the shopping center since it is made up of bricks. A little about myself. I'm an above bowler book avg 213 and between leagues and practice I typically roll 60+ games a month. I tend to avoid permanent cosmic bowl houses like this because as I want real lights on so I can see my targets and ball motion, but I just finished up my Sunday league and wanted to keep rolling but second shift was coming in and all the other houses in OC have leagues at this time. So I decided to suck it up and deal with the cosmic lighting and try and have some fun and roll another 6-10 games. Also I've never experienced string pins so I wanted to try it out before I cast judgement, and finally since it's a cosmic bowling house, lane courtesy doesn't exist and when you have a bunch of young adults and alcohol it makes a very challenging place to focus and I wanted to work on blocking everything out. 21.50 for unlimited bowling (shoes included if you need) and from 7p to 11p. That's a heck of a deal and I was thinking I may have just found my new practice house since it's 2 miles from my home. I was feeling optimistic. I've heard the lanes are higher friction here which I wanted to practice on anyhow for a different lane condition and experience (tournament prep) so I prepared my little practice arsenal 4 ball roller with my weakest covered balls. I brought a Motiv Supra RallyPearl, Motiv Top Thrill Solid, TZone Spare Plastic, and for shiggles brought my 900G Zen Pearl (which I now immensely regret, see photos). These are my burn balls, what I go to when the lanes are toast. First red flag raised when I asked the very friendly and nice person at the front desk when was the last time they conditioned the lanes? They said they didn't understand what I meant. I said you know put fresh oil on the lane. They're still puzzled, so I said you know the little machine that cleans and rolls up and down the lane. They said they think someone does it in the morning. This is a training opportunity, anyone that works in a bowling house at the front desk should be able to answer simple basic questions like this. I didn't ask about lane topography or pattern/ratios. Just simply when was it last oiled. I had the misfortune of being assigned lane 11. The groups around bowling were on par with what I was expecting and I was fine with that and I was able to work on my games mental focus which is about the only successful thing I accomplished. I say the misfortune as the ball return is broken and does not eject the ball from the return opening. Instead it sits there spinning the ball, which in turn damaged all of my balls. I have to resurface every single ball I brought here. Not only do I have belt marks all over but my balls which are prestine and well cared for look like I went bowling on asphalt. It took a chunk out of my Zen which only has around 30 games on it. It was so dark I couldn't see how bad it was damaging my equipment. After only 4.2 games (about 40min) I noticed an awful burning rubber smell and my ball had got stuck in the opening of the return and melted the cover of my ball. It is mind boggling that the same company that owns the PBA would run bowling houses like this. I have a substantial position in Bowlero stock and if this is what they think the future of bowling is I'm second guessing that position. Lanes were dreadful. Fronts so dry and backs had a ton of carry down. Boards 1-10 had the majority of the oil and there was no chance of hooking, 12-30 friction zone. Unless the person that ran the lane machine had a little fun and laid down a whack sport pattern, I don't think these lanes were oiled at all during the weekend. Or if they did oil the volume must be 10-15ml. My TZone hooked 12 boards and rolled early. I've never seen a TZone shape. Finally the string pins. I was fearful when the PBA and now the USBC certified string pins that eventually the majority of houses over time would switch to string pins and Bowlero owns a lot of centers. I'm a cranker/tweener usually 470-500rev, 20mph launch and 17.5mph entry speed. When I hit the pins the explode with a thunderous crash. Not here, when I hit the pins not the same crash and not even close to the same pin action with the craziest leaves. I average 7 strikes a game and here I was getting 3. These strong pins are hot garbage. I don't care how many studies they have that state it only affects score by 10-15 pins, it's not the same game. This is a carnival or pub game, not bowling. I hope to God that Bowlero will have dedicated league houses with A2s and a person that doesn't think Kegel is a naughty word. Keep the string setters to cosmic houses only, don't bring that rubbish into leagues or competitions. I left 2 stars as the employees were very friendly and hospitable, but the bowling experience deserves 0 stars. I now have to figure out how to salvage $700 worth of gear that your poorly maintain machines destroyed. All of the balls I used tonight will need full resurfacing which isn't cheap nor time friendly. read more

The front desk was beyond rude and came off combative over defining the definition of what reservation meant (reality is he should find out.what the definition of customer service means). My son asked if I could take him bowling sometime. We ended up here on a Wednesday because school was out. We strolled in at 11:00 am and got a lane setup. Not a lot of people on a weekday, which is plenty fine for us. We had 5 in our group and bowled two games. We also ordered pizza, wings, nachos, pitcher of lemonade, a soda, and an ice tea. Food was surprisingly decent. We had one server that took our order, checked up on us frequently, and provided drink refills. With everything said and done, the total came out to be $180. A bit steep, but it was nice to take my son out with his friends for bowling. After bowling, we hit up their arcade because of the "half price arcade" special. I got each kid their own $25 card and let them go nuts. What I didn't realize is each game costed between 0.5 to 3.0 credits and $25 dollars was enough for 66 credits! Sounds swell, but most of the games did not work properly. The Jurassic park game's guns were not calibrated and looked like was about to fall off. The boys burned about 20 of their credits trying to play the game and I didn't realize the gun was broken until it was too late. They played a lot of air hockey too, but the puck would get stuck every time you scored a goal. Other games were a little old and outdated. Only the Mario Kart game was worth playing, but it only took 1 credit. I was hoping to get out of there after 1 hour or so, but we ended up just shooting hoops to burn through the credits. Overall it was a fun, but pricey afternoon. We ended up spending around $255 for 5 people in 5 hours. read more

A great spot for any kind of hang. Lots of families or large groups will always be bowling at anytime of the day. The staff is great for the times we've gone. They have a summer pass which everyone should be taking advantage of. $59 for 3 games a day everyday with shoes until 9/5! There are some restriction hours, but still an amazing deal. My favorite part of this spot is the digital ordering system. No more trying to flag down a server or wait in line to order food or drinks. Such an easy way for large parties to put in separate orders and pay as you go. read more

I've been here several times now and can fairly write a review. I've been here for a few company events and can say that their events team is easy to work with since I helped plan the outing. They also have incredible prices for group packages that include drinks and food. Their food isn't gourmet but they do have pizza, wings, tenders, and assorted veggies and dip. The servers also tend to check on you often to make sure you are replenished on any food or drinks that you may want to order! The bowling alley itself is modern and sleek it also has a game room. It's a very large space located in the district and a short walk from the parking lot on the second floor. There are not many bowling alleys in the area but I would rather go here since the ambience is nice with good music and lighting. read more

This place was much better when it was a Bowlmor. We came a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and it was closed for a private event. That's fine, but at least list it online so we don't make the drive over. We even tried calling in advance (a few times actually) and have never been successful with getting in touch. The games are all broken (literally 4 of the 5 we tried to play). The funny part is you have to pay for the card to pay to play the broken games. You know what else is broken? The lanes. Between the two lanes we got last time, there were more malfunctions than I can count on my hands -- pins not reseting, recording the wrong score, or no score at all when we knocked some down. However, not sure if I would come back without the Groupon. Customer service seems to be a bit lacking or that it was just super understaffed. On multiple occasions, I found myself just standing there waiting to be helped with no workers in sight..first when we entered, then to order drinks at the bar. Place is so cute and family friendly! They pins are super colorful and it's definitely a bit more exciting to bowl than at your local city lanes! We ordered some food and it was pretty good too! I wish the rates were a bit more practical for a large group of bowlers we may have stayed longer to bowl but with cost per bowler in addition to shoe rental close to 8.00 per person it's a bit pricey! I know you get what you pay for but it's almost double the cost to bowl with 6 at your local place that charges an hour rate per lane and shoe rentals at about 3-4 dollars. I have yet to find a similar environment until I looked up Bowlero. felt that it had the same vibe and had to take my family here to try it out. My immediate impression was that this bowling alley was clean, modern and a place that feels cool to hang out at. This is not your old school smokey smelling fuddy duddy bowling alley. They have a very nice bar that has cocktails, beers, etc. They have a well kept arcade area with new games if that's something you're into. The bowling section was comfortable and they offered the bowling ball ramp for my kids and while my husband and I bowled without it. We ordered cocktails and a giant pretzel. Purchased a Groupon deal for two hours of bowling and shoes for 6 people for $82 which was a pretty good deal! Arrived on a Sunday night around 9PM and waited about 10 minutes for a lane to open up. I had an amazing weekday experience with a small group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The location did not seem crowded, which was nice. I'm not sure how busy it gets on a weekend; however. My first impression was not the best, but the staff made up for it with one of the best hospitality service I have ever gotten at a bowling alley. When I first checked in for my party, the staff upfront may have been new or occupied with lots of things. I found that I had to repeat myself several times and wasn't able to get answers that I needed. I wasn't even given a lane number when the staff finished checking me in and wished me a great evening, so I had to ask which lane I was at. I wish there was some guidance where I could be pointed, but since it was dark and I wasn't sure where to look, I had a hard time knowing where to go. Thankfully, things quickly turned around from here. Another staff quickly saw me lost and helped walked me to the right lane. When the party began showing up, they saw that it was someone's birthday, offered a free cookie ice cream, and then the amazing manager on site came. Her name is Ashley Earles and she came with all smiles and offered to give us some credits for the arcade as an apology for the inconvenience I experienced upfront. It wasn't much on the credit, but it was a very kind gesture. Throughout the evening, the manager kept an eye out for us and even ran towards our lane when we were ending the night as we were struggling to take a group selfie. She asked if she can help us. I really don't write reviews, but I loved that the manager was not just approaching us because she had to, she genuinely cared and I believe our whole group felt that. Reserved an event on a Friday night at 8pm for three lanes. Definitely one of the better bowling alleys I've been to in Orange County. Noha was assigned to take care of us and she is THE BEST. If you're coming here for an event, definitely request for her cause you WILL be taken care of.
