Get here, now. Don't think about it, don't delay, don't get lost, don't change your mind. Firstly, the place is spotless. Clean to the point of being sterile (in a good way). Secondly, the food is delicious. You cannot order anything that won't be very freshly prepared, out of the kitchen hot, and VERY ample and well priced. The burgers are absolutely to die for, the green chile is out of this world (which I am sure really pisses off the mexican restaurant next door), the breakfasts are the best you'll get anywhere. The french toast is crispy coated with cornflakes, the breakfast burrito is as big as your head, and the chicken friend steak (extra gravy of course) is over the top. The skillets are huge, and anything you order, is well presented. The have a full bar, and the beer is always cold, and the bloody mary's are outstanding! The bathrooms are always stocked and clean. I have always had exceptional service which is great because this place gets jammed! This little corner spot on a strip mall looks pretty unassuming from the outside, but is overwhelmingly impressive once you pass through the doors! Meh - pretty much says it. Visited for dinner and its a seat-yourself-grab-your-own-menu kinda place which is ok, but the food was C-level. Servers were nice and service was actually ok. I'm always weirded out by places with huge menus - american burgers, Greek gyros, Mexican green chili and Hungarian schnitzel - what do I order?! I had schnitzel (really thought I'd finally found my "German Place" nearby) and my wife had gyro sandwich and my kiddo had a hot dog...everything was about average and nothing really special (hot dog was actually pretty darn good). Prices were affordable although not cheap. This place drips of cost cutting and lackluster attention/passion from the ownership. Looks like there was charm and passion at some point, though. My goto breakfast place. They have the best sausage and French toast! Better then any place I have ever been. Their French toast is coated in cap n crunch coconut and almonds I think they said I can't remember exactly but it is soooooooooooooo good I get it pretty much every time. They have really good green chili too. People come in and buy the green chili to go. Great little place nice outdoor seating. Excellent staff that are personable and friendly. A great little neighborhood place that is not a chain. Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We went for Br, I would be inclined to come back for dinner another night. The good Chicken fried steak was excellent; reasonably meaty, tender and the gravy was awesome. Over easy eggs cooked perfectly. Scrambled also good. French toast, as a half order is still plenty. Thick and nicely cooked. Less good- you'll need to add S&P to your taters because they seem to be unseasoned. Better yet, get a side of gravy for them! The French toast comes with a crushed corn flake coating which has a coconut mouthfeel. It may not be to everyone's taste. Also, it's served with margarine instead of butter. The bad I felt the need to wash my hands after using the menu- they definitely need to wipe those down ! Also, I did not eat my toast because when the server brought it out she had the bottom of another plate resting on the top of the toast. A little training could go a long way here. read more

Came into Morrison for the weekend and looking for somewhere to eat breakfast. Bowle's was recommended by a friend, and was told it was good for the price. We had the Country Breakfast and Breakfast Combo. For the price, it was a good breakfast, but didn't deserve more then 3 Stars. The Country Breakfast was a country fried steak scramble. It was good, great for the price. The combo was, a short stack combo. Again for the price, it was good. Come here if you need a quick, good, breakfast. read more

Nice place, very large portions for the price. You'll never say, "That's ALL?" when your plate is handed to you. The tuna salad is comes with tons of lettuce, a tomato, cucumber, sliced hard boiled egg, and two scoops of tuna with a dressing of your choice. Sliced ham sandwich is also very good--real ham, not the "fake" deli ham that you see in grocery stores. The menu is extensive. French toast: not at all impressed. It had a strange crunchy coating that altered the taste (someone here said it's cornflakes) and deviates too much from what French toast should be. The veteran server is an older woman who obviously loves her job, but she is TOO loud and needs to take it down a few notches. When she learned my companion lost a family member, the first thing she did when he and I entered was blurt loud enough for the whole place to hear, "I'M SO SORRY!" Suddenly all eyes were on us! I had to give her the coach's time-out signal and say, "We don't want to talk about it." Really, this is not what a server is supposed to do. She should have just greeted us and taken us to a table. read more

Working in the service industry, I know there are certain things that are just out of people's control, but when it's back to back, there comes a tipping point. Our waitress was frantic as could be, it took us 20 minutes to even get water. When asked for coffee creamer she came out with her hands full of coffee creamer and a million things and just splatted them on the table. When we got our food though I immediately saw an egg shell sitting on top of my eggs, then when she took the skillet back I found a hair on my biscuits and gravy plate. Then immediately after that my friend found a hair in the middle of her chicken fried steak. We told the waitress and she said "we don't know what's happening, they're all wearing nets back there. Food is always good. My dad gets chicken fried steak and loves it. My mom gets hamburger and salad and says it's all good. I get their breakfast burrito smothered in green chili and it's excellent. Prices are compatible to others. Staff is always friendly and service is good. A breakfast burrito sounds good. Will have to go again soon. read more

the soup and salad that came with our entrees were great but the actual entrees were just ok. we came to try the czech food so i got the schnitzel and my bf got the goulash. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of the potato salad with my schnitzel but got the potato salad so that was a tiny bit disappointing. my bf hated his goulash and i agreed after trying it (a few days ago we had the goulash at Cafe Prague and omg that one was amazing). We also ordered soda, which we never received. The waitress was nice enough to offer a strudel on the house at the end of our meal but we passed. i'm giving this place 3 stars just because of the salad/soup and because of how sweet our waitress was in general, besides forgetting some things. read more

GREAT food! Large portions and very tasty. Prices are good and service is good. An all-around great place to get a bite to eat! The waitstaff is fairly attentive (although,I've been several times and overheard them bitch about working there...this only from the older staffers. I dunno if they're just stress or disgruntled, but save it for the break room!). The place is clean and the atmosphere is casual. Lots of local flavor. A little loud at times, but it's diner! Huge plates! I got the pork chops & eggs smothered in green chili, it was really delicious. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito and thought it was really good with all the different meats in it. Bloody Mary's were amazing, just the perfect kick to it. Decor needs some updating, but besides that we will definitely return for brunch. read more

Stopped by for breakfast at the Bowles Cafe because we prefer mom and pop cafe's over chain restaurants any day, and there's few choices in the area. Ordered the omelet and my wife ordered the the French toast. They cook the meat inside the eggs, then throw cheese on top. Over cooked and dry. Potatoes had no flavor or salt and pepper. The French toast was dipped in corn flakes or something, but were decent. The sausage side was like cardboard. Terrible breakfast. Service was good as well as the coffee. All in all, surprised they could miss the mark by so far for something as simple as an omelette and potatoes. Yuck. read more

This is a local place with consistently good food and service. Parking is never an issue, servers are invariably fast and polite, and the food is solid diner-type fare. There can be a wait on the weekends, but it's usually not too long. We generally eat here for breakfast, and enjoy the skillets, chicken fried steak, and the unique French toast coated with corn flake crumbs. The first few times we ate there we were very satisfied: eggs cooked exactly as ordered, tasty potatoes, fresh coffee. Went for dinner and could not say it was good. Last time decided to try something different for breakfast and ordered french toast and bacon. The french toast was odd, something crunchy on it like crushed frosted flakes. The bacon was inedible, cooked at least six hours before I ordered it. I took one bite and told the waitress it was inedible and I did not want to pay for it. She said she would talk to the owner. When she brought the bill the dish was still full price. I asked about it and she said the owner said "There is nothing wrong with the bacon, she has to pay full price." Seems quite silly to me to save two dollars on old bacon and lose two customers forever. Lot's of places to eat but Bowle's Cafe i not one of them. Ask them about getting a "F" from the health department two times in the last 2 months. Their grade is based on things you can't see as a customer. read more

Friendly young lady greeted me promptly and let me sit at the bar counter. Kristy my server was very charismatic right off the bat. My food came out so fast. The staff joked around with me while i waited so it seemed even faster. Food was really awesome. The gyro meat is prepackaged but that isn't enough too take a star away. Besides there isn't another gyro place within miles. Also none of the staff seemed to be hung over. After 10 years of working in a restaurant, i know Sunday morning crews can be tired and crudo. The food is less than sub-par. The coffee is not good. This is the ultimate tell-all - If a breakfast cafe's coffee is no good! I ordered the veggie omelette which was made up of canned mushrooms. The potatoes were so, so bland. The chefs neglected to add salt. Also, despite the speedy service, our waitress was unhelpful when asked simple menu questions. Decided to try the place since it's close to home. Husband had the chicken fried steak and eggs and I have the same but skillet version. Very tasty. Love the hash browns. Different. Tried the Spicy Bloody Mary...have had better. Waitress gave us a sample of their Green chili. It's good but have had better. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Me and my girlfriend live down the street, so we occasionally stop by. For the most part, the food has always been decent, and the prices as well. My only complaint would the the service. The waitresses are very inattentive and it always takes forever to get our check. I don't understand how service could be bad in a restaurant so small.
