I've been renting a 10x10 originally price was $207 by the 3rd moth price had changed to $220 I stopped by spoke with them I was told it's because you need to set up automatic payments. No problem let's do it! Few months go by I get an automatic charge over $340. For this and last month I called and I was told we will call Corp and see what the issue is . This is by far the cleanest place I have stored with. The manager is kind, helpful, and goes out of her way to make sure everything is safe. She's updated keypads on the doors, had better security cameras put in, and you see her out checking on things throughout the day. It's hard to find people who care so much these days. I have been a customer of this location for many years. Through 3 ownership changes, it remains convenient and well-run. I had an incident today with my lock. Chad, the associate at this Chatsworth location, was very professional and demonstrated good old-fashioned customer service. He is an absolute gentleman and immediately replaced the lock while not charging me for the replacement in recognition of my many years as a valued customer. I did not get the name of the gentleman who performed the lock exchange; however, he was kind, courteous, and respectful. He removed the old lock and took the time to ensure I knew how to use the new lock. I am very grateful for the professionalism of these two attendants and their assistance as I am a senior citizen and find such attributes few and far between in our current culture. Today I visited my storage unit at Extra Space in Chatsworth, and I couldn't raise my unit door. I could feel that a chair had fallen and was preventing me from raising the door. I call the main office and a team of three met me at my unit!! They were amazing!! Not only did they get the door up but was kind enough to place my chair in a place and position so it wouldn't fall again. We initially got the storage unit in 2020 for at approximately $179.00 a month for a 10x10 unit for our odds and ends that we couldn't fit at our home. Unfortunately, over the past 3 years the storage unit gradually went up to over $300.00 a month, too steep for us to continue to pay, so we recently discontinued our services with them and moved our stuff out. Pros were; the facility grounds were clean, no homeless around the storage complex area, easy access in and out, and nice staff. Cons were; the unit got very dusty inside leaving a lot of dirt and dust on all our stuff, and ongoing raises on their prices for the monthly unit just wasn't worse it anymore. read more

I have had a small storage unit there for 19 years and the rent has over quadrupled. Rent increases have always been sent by post card with about 2.5 weeks notice. I complained to the manager about the short notice and he said that a certifiedletter was sent out one month ahead. But I never received it as they have never done this ever. I called the company and got the same lie. He said that it would be elevated to the district manager. I have yet to hear from them. DO NOT TRUST THEM. read more

He is positive and takes great pride in his work going above and beyond taking care of customers and the facility. When I called the facility to inform them of her passing, the manager promised there was no need to pay rental fees or to worry: Nothing would be auctioned off during the COVID19 pandemic. A few weeks later, the manager told me a "small estate executor" document was needed to access her belongings. We hired an attorney, but COVID delayed the legal proceedings. With a court date finally scheduled, I phoned the storage facility manager once more. The response: My sister's belongings had been auctioned off a month after we last spoke. What? Hadn't he promised? Why hadn't I been given an option to bid? Could I contact the buyer? Nope, he said, the buyer's identity is protected and there was nothing he could do now. Twice I received a highlighted list if rules, the rules highlighted were alleged violations. I have a space in the end back corner and trash and debris ends up in front of my unit because of the wind. None of the trash or leaves were mine but it counted against me all the same. Well after those notice all if the sudden one evening I tried to go to my unit and my code wouldn't work. Tried it again first thing in the morning and still couldn't get in. So waited until the office opened and tried again and magically my code had been restored. Thought that it was just my mistake at that point so I went about my business. Or tried to at least. I attempted to open my lock and my key wouldn't work. After watching a few videos on YouTube I was able to get my lock open. At that point the site manager Erik Bozman came over and was flipping out asking how i opened my unit. I was all what do you mean how? This is my lock and my unit and i am paid up thru next month. Thats when he said that I was kicked out. I had to get all my shit right then and get out (those were his exact words). I asked for a refund at least which he refused. I asked for a reason I was being kicked out and he said for opening the lock that he disabled. Wtf?! So it wasn't my fault I couldn't get in the night before he had restricted my entry to just during business hours. He admitted he has a "master key" and had purposely disabled my lock. Seriously how is this legal? Just because he had passed stereotype judgment thinking he know anything about me or my life he unfairly discriminated us. Well obviously I couldn't empty a 5X10 unit in a moments notice and when I went back 2 days later he had put a overlock on my unit making any access impossible. This is how they treat paying customers. I wasn't then and still not now behind on my payments. But I can't get any of my stuff. Guess I'll have to have a police escort or at least get a police report since they have essentially stolen all my stuff. I dont imagine the insurance I was forced to buy will cover theifts from their own employees. And for all the previous reviews on here of stolen items without any signs of forced entry you all now know why- it was an inside job done with these master keys. Just saying. read more

Beware of Internet Specials and the price increase that soon will follow within a couple of months after renting the unit. Staff is attentive when available. I rented a 20 x 10 unit in March 2018 for $269. Fast forward to June 2018 (3 months later), I get a letter saying that they are going to raise the monthly rent to $432 to better reflect the current prices of similar spaces that are rented in the are!! That's a 60% increase just like that! That is just very shady and needless to say I moved out. They offer you the $269 to get you to move in but then they raise it right away to $432 knowing that most people will just pay it because it would be too much work and hassle to move out a 20 x 10 space after 3 months.
