I discovered a screw in my rear passenger tire a couple nights ago and needed to take care of it ASAP because of my work schedule, and well, because it's a screw in my tire. I called BP Tires on a Sunday afternoon since Pep Boys was not willing to plug it since it was on "the sidewall." It wasn't. They just wanted to upsell me on a new tire. Anyway, Leo answered the phone in a warm/friendly manner and I immediately felt confident in calling the right place. I went down to his shop and had it all sorted out within 30 minutes or so. Also, I found out he's able to mount scooter tires too (not remove them) which is awesome for my mini-moto. Nice ppl. Bought a new set of tires. Blackhawk brand. My mpg dropped significantly from 40 to 32mpg. Car runs sluggish and heavy. Called in to ask about the issue. Asking like they Had no clue. Not very informative. Didn't seem like experts. Prob couldn't sell these and was happy to just sell them to me. Worst set of tires I've ever bought. Update. Yeah my tuition was absolutely right. Not very informative. I don't even want to drive my car anymore. These tires are too heavy. They're for suvs and trucks not a little hybrid hatchback like my car. And they knew what I drove. They were just happy to get the set out their inventory. My engine is working way harder than it was before. I'm accelerating more. That's why I'm losing mpg. one thing they should have told me and didn't tell me. Why? Bcuz if they told me, I wouldn't have bought the set. I was right. They just wanted the set out of their inventory. And make a sale. They didn't care too much about their customer. Usually when you buy a new set from anywhere or anyone, the first thing they ask you is what car is it for? They don't give a fuck what I drove. They just wanted it out! I have tires that are kind of to find. Costco or Sam's Club don't have then and I have tried other tire places big and small and there's always a long wait. I called BP Tires and spoke to Leo who told he could get the tire and right away gave me a really good price for the tire, mount and balance. I told him that I only needed one and that my car was actually in the shop being repaired. He went above and beyond and had my tire shipped to the body shop! The body shop is over 30 miles away and with traffic is easily over an hour. The fact that I didn't have to take it myself was really good! BUYER BEWARE STAY AWAY ! Purchased a tire when leaving I was told my Lug Bolts were "Broken" (there was rust on them) so Isaac put 3 lug bolts on and said It would be ok to drive. The bolts were not tightened enough because they fell off and my Wheel & Tire fell off the car while driving. I called the shop from the side of the road and Isaac laughed. I fixed it myself , drove back to the shop. They realized there was damage to the axel and said they were ordering parts. I left and never heard from them again. I have called several time and stop by the shop. I have now submitted a complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair. BUYER BEWARE When it come down to any liability or professionalism , they'll avoid you & have no backbone, not smart... 3 lug would hold if tightened correctly, but why not put all 5 lugs back on since they were on when I pulled up to the shop !
