I hit a curb and got a flat and had my car towed here because it was the closest tire shop. Obviously already having a really bad day but I guess I looked like dollar signs to them because somehow I walked out paying over $1600. They told me I needed a new set of tires so I should just replace them all. I told them I just got my tires 2 years ago from the dealership. They said the dealership sold me tires that were in storage for 2 years before I got them (pointed to the date of manufacturing) and that warps the tires due to being in the sun and whatnot. Lucky for me they had a great deal on 4 tires for $1100. Why didn't I question any of this? The guy seemed very nice and I was so stressed from having a flat tire and blocking traffic for 30 minutes and very frazzled so I just agreed. After about an hour the guy tells me I need new front brake pads as they've worn down to 1mm. I told him I just got new brake pads one year ago. He shakes his head and tells me whoever installed them must've given me poor quality brake pads or I'm an aggressive driver. I tell him I'm not interested but he keeps insisting telling me if I didn't replace them now it would cause "metal on metal" and destroy my rotors and I would be causing way more serious damage which would become costly. Did I want to pay a few hundred dollars now to replace the pads or thousands later because I didn't do what I was supposed to? I don't know anything about cars. Don't even know what brake pads look like at this point and he's talking fast and showing me the pads and acting extremely concerned about my welfare and last thing I wanted was another big expense so I agreed. I asked him to take pictures of my pads with my phone which he did and while they're fixing my car I called up the place that originally did my brakes and of course they defend themselves. Who am I to believe? I Google some pictures of worn brake pads to compare to the pictures of my own and what I saw on my car, and it really looks to me that my original brake pads look quite new! I estimated that the part I'm actually supposed to measure was about half an inch just based on what I actually saw in person while he was talking fast and taking the pictures, which Google tells me is actually equivalent to 8mm! I get upset and ask them to bring my old brake pads out and I want them to measure and show me exactly where it's 1mm and of course they bring out pads that look nothing like my picture. I told them these don't look anything like what's in my picture- they're not my pads and also not 1mm- they were 2 or 3 but still way thinner than what I had just seen on my car and in the pictures. It also took them a long time to find my brake pads even though they just took them off. It was at that point I realized they were complete liars and I wasn't going to get anywhere with them at this point and I was made a fool. Then they tell me they're getting my new pads from some warehouse and it'll be here soon. Of course before I signed the papers they told me all the parts were already there and should be done quickly. I asked them why are parts being delivered when they said all were in stock?! Oh because they meant the parts are here locally in Southern California. Lies after lies. I can go on but I'll stop here. It isn't just the fact that I got scammed into getting new brake pads and possibly new tires, but also the fact that I probably had legit pads in there already and they might have replaced it with $hitty ones because at this point I would expect no less from this place. They prey on women and elderly (I saw an elderly man in a walker come in crying about having paid for 4 new tires but they only replaced 1 and left him with 3 old tires. I don't know how and if that was resolved so won't comment more on that). I also notice there are some five star reviews here from people who came in to get a new tire but also left with new brake pads much like my own situation. They're probably giving 5 star reviews not knowing they were talked into replacing perfectly fine brake pads. Save your money headache and the feeling of being gaslit up your a$$ and go elsewhere. I went in to get a tire patched as I picked up a nail. I have been doing business at this location for years and first thing I noticed was that it was under new ownership. The old owner was fantastic! This new guy pulls the tire, tells me they can't patch it because it was too close to the sidewall. It wasn't. He then tries to get me to buy a $250 new tire! I had them put it back on and I went over to Becker tire in Orange. Was in and out in less than 30 minutes patched and ready to go! I'll never go back to this Big O location again! read more

I came into this shop with a nail in my tire and specifically asked if it could be repaired. They told me yes. I also asked if they could check whether the nail fully penetrated the tire. The technician tried to see if it was leaking but couldn't tell for sure--then, without confirming with me, he pulled the nail out and said there was a very small leak. When I asked them to repair the tire, he suddenly had to bring over the sales manager. That's when things got shady. The manager tried to pressure me into buying a whole new set of tires instead of just repairing the one, even though I came in for a simple patch. Thankfully, I went to another shop afterward, and they told me the tire wasn't leaking at all. These guys clearly tried to scam me into an unnecessary sale. I sincerely hope the owner of this location knows how valuable of an employee Q is. Poor guy was alone up front and the phones were ringing off the hook. He was able to provide me with a very competitive quote for getting my transmission, coolant and external drive belt taken care of. It was almost $400 less than what the dealer quoted. He was polite, respectful, had 10/10 customer service and was very thorough. After providing me with the quote, he was able to get everything scheduled for next Saturday at 8am. Amazing guys, took me in right away- super sweet and great price for everything I had done and they got me fixed up FAST. Got four new tires, they found me a new rim, replaced my alternator belt, and did an alignment. So it was kind of difficult finding tires for my truck 37x12.5 . Decided to call Big O and this particular franchise had 2 locations and they gave me a time frame of when they could get them and price , there timing and price were right for me and they sent the tires to the closest location to me so I wouldn't have to drive so far , they also did a alignment and a overall wellness check of my vehicle which is a big plus because I use this truck a lot for towing . I had a screw in one of my tires. Thinking that I'd have to replace it, I procrastinated getting it done until I could afford it. Got a quote from another place for $150 and I don't even know if that was only for the tire. My folks recommended Big O, so I called and spoke to Alonso. He quoted me $56 just for the tire but unfortunately he didn't have the size my car needed so he was going to order it and have me return the next day for the install. That required a deposit so I went over to take care of that and again spoke to Alonso. I cannot say enough good things about him. I get there and as he's checking out my tires he finds the screw and tells me I may not need to replace the tire, that he may be able to repair it. Well he finds my the other tire has a wire in it but says he'll check it out to see if anything needs to be done. In the end Alonso saved me a bunch of money repairing the tire with the screw in it and not charging me for the other tire since it didn't need anything done. I recently had a tire blow out on the freeway and was kind of traumatized but a family member recommended this location so I went in nervous with a million questions and Allen and the other rep at the desk were so nice and welcoming. They answered all my questions and I had a lot but they were sooo nice about it. Even my husband called to ask a question and he agreed how nice they were! My spare goes in the bottom of my very full trunk and I told them to just leave it on my passenger seat but of course they made it work putting it back in my trunk thank you! They are very quick to try to get you in get your keys and trap you in there. Stopped by for an alignment which Garry said it would take 30 minutes because there was nobody waiting, after waiting for two hours they were supposedly finished. After driving a few minutes, I noticed the truck pulled right. Stopped by in the afternoon they said they were too busy to fit me in to stop by the next morning. when their alignment specialist would be working. Which means they had somebody who didn't know work on my truck Waited another three hours the next day I went back there and asked a technician and he said he did not know how to do it I politely asked him to just leave the truck alone, and I would be taking it elsewhere. read more

Coming here for years, the staff and shop used to take very good care of my car, I've gotten tires, oil changes, and engine issues all taken care of here and it used to be decently priced. THAT IS NOT THE CASE NOW. 177$ A HOUR FOR LABOR. last Friday my check engine light came on and I took it in here cause it used to be my go to but the first issue was just to check the codes of the engine light 177$, not to fix just to check. they wave it if you get your repairs there as if that's a favor.... total I paid to fix two issues was 520$ and they wanted 700$.... one of the services was quoted 320$ when I asked how much of that was parts he said 40$ I honestly could not believe what I heard and they know because they changed their receipts, they don't easily list whats labor or parts they just list everything in its own line, every other shop I been to including this one in the past lists it side by side labor/parts but they do not cause they know its ridiculous. Also came in asking about my right back tire sensor, they didn't even bother looking at that and I wasn't gonna ask so they could add 400$ for a sensor replacement. read more

Very slow. Service guys seem very capable but the guy running the front desk runs the place like his own little dictatorship.

Although my issue has been resolved The problem is, I felt hustled. Giving me the wrong tires and making me wait 6 hours to get my car back thinking that I wouldn't check the work they performed. day. I brought in my car for 2 tires. I called specifically ask for these tires , the guy on the other line then asked me for my make and model - so he knew what kind of tire I needed. Said he didn't have them and then immediately retracted and he said he did and can put them on today (other places told me they'd have to order them and tires would come in the next day) agreed to and get them. Dropped off my car around 10:30-11. He said my car would be ready on a couple hours. Fast forward it's now 4PM same day and I still haven't received a call. I called 4:15 to follow up and the guy said it'll be ready by before they close 5PM. I get there 4:59, still wasn't ready. 5:15 still not ready, 5:20 he handed me paperwork and collected payment but No keys. 5:30 handed me my keys didn't even walk me to car to review. Looked at the tires.. they weren't the tires I wanted and thought I paid for. I immediately called them back and complained, there was some back and forth with the guy - and he then corrected himself and told me to come the next day and it'll be fixed first thing in the morning. The store manager was able to correct the issue. I could have gone to the dealership paid $200 more and I would have had a rental and had the job done correctly. But I chose to find a deal only to lose out on an entire day plus $200 therefore losing more what I thought I was going to save. read more

(WORKERS LIKE TO STEAL !)Came in early morning for a tire replacement. Everything went well until I got into my car and realize my jumper battery travel pack is missing from my car workers and manager claim that they didn't take it to double check that I didn't accidentally leave it at home when in fact, I used it right before driving to their location, my car will randomly die on me, Therefore I have to carry this in my car every day or else I'm stranded these workers think I'm stupid when at the end of the day they're the ones that work for a bigger corporation they can't afford a $30 Amazon jump battery how sad. Corp will be hearing about this An hr. later we found the jumper box .... these idiots left it plugged into my battery ! The lawsuit they would've had if my car blow up or something would've happened. One of the workers used it cause my car died when they stepped out to pull my car in but the worker jumped my car saw it turned on and then closed my hood and left the dam jump box on my Damm battery . I had been looking for Good Year brand, I thought comparison quotes would be easy. In the meantime I discovered I might need a new alternator. For started with my dealership, don't sell the brand, went thru 4 zip codes. Not only did this particular store have the Good Year, but matched the lesser price on these tires I located at a different retailer. During this process the technician, Jerry, noticed my brake pads were extremely worn, posing a potential safety hazard, Jessie Gomez, the Assistant Manager, brought this to my attention, he took me into the garage showing me my brake pads, and what new break pads look like. We decided to forego the altinator fix , which he said was safe to wait on that, we decided to do the breaks instead. My experience was positive, Jesse is, was transparent during the entire process. My car was fixed in the timeframe I was given. Personable, was made comfortable, the employees wear covid protective masks, shop waiting area adheres to social distancing as well. read more
