I would have to say that even though I have only used their services twice I was extremely pleased with the service. The first time I went it was for my brakes. I had a squealing sound each time i stepped on the brake pedal. They checked the car out and told me that i didn't need brakes after all. I was shocked that they actually admitted that to me. The second time was for an oil change. The manager was very pleasant and helpful. I was in and out in no time at all and at a very reasonable price. I took my car here a while ago to change my brake pads and rotors days after I had them changed elsewhere. My brakes were still making noises 4 days later so I decided to take it to Brake Check. The staff was excellent! They didn't make me feel dumb for not knowing anything about cars. They explained everything to me in Layman's terms. The technician (I think his name was Danny) was awesome. Cesar is great to work with. If you've ever had any issues here, I recommend trying this place one more time and working with Cesar as he has a high standard for himself and his employees, and he is very clear about what he is doing, how long it will take and how much it will cost. I requested a quote for changing my brakes and he took me outside to my vehicle and showed me exactly what needed to be changed and why. He never once tried to push work I had not requested or charge me for something else I had not requested, which is something I run into very often being a young woman (i.e. people trying to take advantage of someone they think doesn't know a vehicle, which I don't). It was really nice having the issues explained and shown to me in detail as no other mechanic has ever done that. I also got an oil change and it took about one and a half hours but there were also 5 other cars in the garage, and he let me know prior to starting on my vehicle how much it would cost. This place is a rip off. I went to have my rotors resurfaced and they come back and tell me several things that were wrong with my car- to the tune of $900. Including my right front wheel would eventually fall off if I didn't change the wheel bearing. I was suspicious because I didn't hear any sounds coming from under my car . So I took it to a different mechanic to double check and bearings were just fine. What they did was take off one of weights on my right front tire so when I got on the highway it shook quite bad. I was due for a rotate and balance of my tires which I did and miraculously the shaking stopped. I would suggest to NEVER do business with this place. If I could give a negative 10 stars I would. Well, I am a little unsure about how to explain the service. I have been here for an hour and a half to get rear pads changed out the car is in and out of the bay, up and down the lift. Now all of a sudden, 1 rotor is bad, and just happens that is all that is available. Have you ever had the feeling that things are not going to turn out good, no matter what? Well this is the feeling I have had since my arrival... We are at 2 hours now, and I wonder if Johnnie and David truly know what is going on in their store. 2.5 hours in and now there is another rotor available, and come to find out, the problem with my original rotor is that the technician put the bolts on incorrectly. The manager started calling Kia this blank blank blank Japanese blah blah blah. Looking at 30 minutes more. Sad thing is I told the manager an hour ago that if he was changing 1 rotor, that I wanted both changed. His response that there is only one. I had my wife call several auto parts places, they were available everywhere. Explain this to the manager (whom likes to cuss in Spanish - like I don't know what he is saying) now the other rotor is available. My feeling is when someone acts like a weasel instead of utilizing communication, the customer suffers with depletion of the most precious commodity; time. I could go on with the other issues of the patrons here, let's just say, management has to learn communication and time management. Went to the (Hwy 6, Houston Texas) Brake check for an alignment this morning ...I paid ( $144) for the lifetime alignment for my car, several years back ( NEVER had a problem until today) . I was told today that the warranty was NULL and VOID because I had the control arms and cv joints replaced on my car last week by my personal mechanic, (which saves me a ton of money!).......What Brakecheck is advertising is FALSE! Also, I paid for lifetime rotate and balance of my tires and they no longer have the machine that balances the tires, they have not had it for years now!....I am so pissed off at Brake check! If I would of known that there were stipulations to this "SO CALLED" Lifetime Alignment I would of NEVER purchased it on the first place!....I paid for a lifetime alignment for the LIFE of my car and now they tell me I have to start paying for alignments all over again because of parts that I had changed out! They have been doing my alignments for 9 years now! I have had the battery, tie rods, muffler, alternator, tires, brakes, etc replaced in this car in that time frame, never had a problem with Brakecheck doing my alignments until today! I should of been told when I purchased this "SO CALLED" Lifetime warranty!...I no longer trust Brakecheck and will start having my car serviced somewhere else...Brakecheck you do BAD BUSINESS!..... BEWARE! Brake Check cannot be trusted! I will be sending a letter to their main office! You piss enough customers off, you won't have anyone to service, there are car mechanics on every street corner that can service my car. I chose Brake Check because I thought that I could Trust Them...I was wrong!..... Did exam on car, gave me cost up front, and after I approved, the work was done as promised at quoted price. As long as Jerry works at the store I will be taking my car there. This is why: When I took my car there for repairs it was discovered that I would need an aftermarket part to fix the car. Jerry called around to determine if the part was available and how long before the part would arrive. Jerry gave me a choice: to come back when the part arrives, or stay there and let them get my car ready. I decided to stay there and let them get my car ready. The part arrive later than expected. During this Jerry kept me informed of what was going on and worked to keep me happy. When I was there I had the chance to talk to the customers. For most, it was not there first time at the store. No answer, so I leave a message. They never returned my call, not even this morning. I go over there today and the girl tells me that leaving the car out is against their policy. This was my first experience with Brake Check and it couldn't have been better. I've been a long time customer of a competing auto servicing company and I've been on the hunt for a more trustworthy and friendly company. Look no further, Brake Check is where you want to go! I went in for a simple oil change and I was told exactly what was being done and constantly updated with news about my vehicle. It was even better when I was told that every fourth oil change is free, incredible! I was taken care by Jerry who I can't speak more highly of, he even offered to put my car up on a different bay to check on all of my brakes after noticing some squeaking! After inspection I was brought into the work area and was showed the wear on each of my brakes, something no one else has done before. I was able to schedule an appointment while in the shop for the next day. I'm a woman and I've found that going to any auto place they will try to nickel and dime me thinking I don't know anything about cars, not here. They tried to rip me off saying I needed new break pads and new drums at a total of $440.00. Came down to Firestone and all I needed was breaks cleaned and back breaks adjusted at a total of $32.00. Do not take your car at brake check in the Woodlands; they will push unnecessary repairs on you. I went to Break Check in the Woodlands because just needed to do an alignment, I was told it will cost around 60 dollars and it will take about an hour. I waited there for my car for an hour and 40 minutes and I found out that they have not done anything on my car. The manager asked me go to the repair area are started telling me that I need to fix things that didn't need and didn't have to do anything with my alignment job and they told me it Will cost 880 dollars. I was so angry; I asked them to give my car back so I can leave. Later I found out that this is their way of convincing client to do useless repairs. Trust me do not take your car to this location they are very dishonest. read more

This is two visits I'm going to talk about. First time our truck was serviced Jerry the manager was quite nice. It took almost an hour to do an aliment that had an appointment. Before taking our truck into the bay the customer who had walked in behind me needed his truck serviced by 2:00 and every assumed our truck would be out of his way in time to meet his needs. Our appointment was at 1:00. Not only did they rush the aliment in order to service another customer who was a walk in they also did not test drive our truck to check their work. Upon leaving and after getting our kids into the truck which was squeezed in very closely to a Camaro in their tiny little parking lot it was almost impossible to leave safely from the way they parked our truck. Driving it away from the building something felt off so we discussed it later and looked at the print out diagram. EVERYTHING was off balance! When work schedule provided a couple of days later and without driving this particular truck in between visits we showed up with our truck again, speaking to Jerry about the matter, and made it clear we were unsatisfied with their work. We have a lifetime aliment on all our vehicles and have been very happy with brake check every time we used them. However, this was our first time at this location. Jerry got our truck in right away for the second time and said the work should have been fine because it cost him $400 to have his machine serviced recently. They took about an hour again which was fine...they had plenty to make right. They did test drive it this time and checked their work. Instead of Jerry finishing with his own customers he stood around in the garage and sent one of his techs to let us know they were finished and to ring us up. We were not going to pay for a second aliment when it was their fault we had to come back; they had never done it rigth the first visit. The tech didn't argue with us and brought Jerry to the front. Instead of asking us what the problem was and how he could fix it Jerry rung us up like satisfied customers and told us the total. We said no. Jerry then tried to guilt trip us and said "Come on man its only $" When we explained that we only came back because another store recommended we give them a chance to do right by us and that we shouldn't have to pay twice when the work wasn't done right the first time, Jerry got frustrated with us and tried to argue. Eventually he walked back outside to the garage and our truck was pulled into a parking spot. These people stand by crappy work, don't care about unsatisfied customers, and argue with customers. We gave them a chance to do right. The truck was still not aligned properly after that second visit. We do not recommend this location at all. read more

Avoid this place for brake work at all cost. Unsafe work to say the least. After having new front pads put on my car and waiting 2 days for a suspension part they ordered, the wrong part arrived. Then as soon as I slowly left the store on the feeder my brakes did not work at all and had to use the handbrake to stop!! Plus a metal to metal grinding sound from one of the new pads. Returned to the store right away and got all sorts of excuses. The store manager Jerry even got into a heated discussion with me right in front of other customers. They bled the brakes again telling me it would be ok now but as I backed out the pedal went almost to the floor. I had the car towed to another shop right from their lot costing me $150.00. This experience almost put my safety at risk not to mention the brakes worked better before I brought the car in. Getting in touch with their customer care to let them know of this poorly run store.
