I had the most pleasant experience today with Brake Masters. I showed up for my Uber inspection because the Uber website states that the vehicle inspection at this location is from 8am-5pm; however, when I showed up at 3:45PM, Uber had already left by 3pm. The manager Jeff and assistant manager Josh, were so helpful and accommodating to me. They took care of my inspection right there on the spot.There are still genuinely nice people out there that value customer service and are not just trying to make a buck off of you. If anything ever goes wrong with my vehicle or any other vehicle at our house, I will definitely be taking it to them. read more

I've been a customer of the Grant Road Brake Masters for a couple of years - goes back to when Alan managed the shop. As an attorney I take nothing at face value I always competitvely price shop and I'm good at smelling bs when it's in the air. Alan proved himself at our first meeting quoting me a price for an alternator that was better than his competitors - at that time I had taken the car to several repair shops, had them test the alternator and each of them advised me to replace it. Alan had his mechanics check it out and told me my problem was only a battery cable. Nowhere else did I get this honesty - and for me, that counts. Over the years my wife and I have had all service needs taken care of by Brakemasters - and believe me, I still price shop. I can't comment on anyone else's experience, but I would, without hesitation, recommend any Brake Masters if it was under the supervision of this gentleman. Manager doesn't care about his customers at all. The technicians made a mistake while working on my vehicle that caused my car to have to get towed, and acknowledged the mistake but refused to do anything about it or offer any sort of compensation. 10/10 don't recommend, just not an honest workplace. read more

Went in 3 months ago because rear breaks squealed loudly. $315 later I leave and find mind breaks still squeal. Deal with it for a while, but finally take it back. The guy working there kept giving me the run around instead of trying to fix the problem. They said they fixed something and my breaks work better, but I still have loud breaks that are now grinding and I'm out $315. read more

Been going to Brake Masters for 25 years. This location and others used to be good. Now it's always an outrageous upsell. Towed in, needed a fuel pump. Cost would be $1,000!!! Had it re-towed to a very reputable Honda specialist, cost $400; I'm out the second towing fee. Go for an oil change, said I need wiper blades (which I did) and they'll install them for $9.95. The blades would cost me $8.00 at Walmart, so I say go ahead. Look at the bill later and see they charged me $19.90 - $9.95 each for two. Total BS to say they are $9.95, as if anyone ever replaces one blade. They're convenient and quick, but they're not honest or fair in pricing. Disappointed and discouraged. Seems to be the way of the business world these days. There's always a catch or a gottcha. read more

I went there to fix my AC and they told be there was a leak in one of the pipes, they fixed but the next week my AC was not working again. I come back and now they told me that there was an other leak in the compressor due to a loose piece of metal inside and that I have to replace all my AC kit and the cost of that was 1200. Looking for a second opinion I end up going to Century Auto AC specialist they told me that the compressor was fine and that the problem was the evaporating core. So these guys just one to make you replace parts without being sure on whats the real problem, so you might end up expending to much money in parts that you don't need! read more

So I came in on Friday november 15th for a much needed oil change and I am sooo glad I did. The reason being is that while they were doing their free inspection they caught a huge safety problem, a busted spindle on front driver's side. I mean it was a huge break right through. Mike and Kurtis were great at helping my family out, not only did they find a used part, installed it same day, and gave me a discount, but Mike also drove me down town to pick up my family from the childrens museum, who I dropped off while I was getting an oil change. Now the reason why I am not giving 5 stars is because when they replaced the part they had to take off the wheel and they needed the key for the wheel lock. Well I don't remember the conversation but apparently Kurtis had asked for the key and I said I didn't have the key, so they used a method that ended up damaging the wheel lock, without me knowing it. Well fast forward today. This morning I had my normal mechanic come over to work on my car and he noticed the wheel lock was damaged. So I took it back to Brake Masters. The first person I spoke to wasn't either Mike or Kurtis, I explained to that person the series of events and he started to explain to me that it couldn't have been them because he thought the damage looked brand new. Well Kurtis saw us outside and recognized the car and what had happen previously and said he would take care of it. Which he did for free and no other trouble. So I am giving 4 stars because I really felt Kurtis and make cared about me as the customer and did their best. read more

This is the second time I've taken a car here and the second time I've had a great experience. I will now be a forever loyal customer! First time had great customer service from Alan and this time from Curtis and Mike. These guys are extremely polite and helpful! Curtis had warned me up front that an additional part may need to be replaced (to the tune of almost $300.00) but when they got in they found it did not need replacing. Unfortunately my experience was not good either. We first dropped our car off for a second opinion on what was wrong with our AC. They tried to charge me for something they didnt even do and then when I questioned it made some mumbling excuse and then removed it from my bill....they had charged me for an "ac charge" when infact the tech just finished telling me my ac was OVER charged and had to be evacuated some(which they charged me for without authorization which is problem #2).....so complete scam charge-I had ONLY authorized the 89$ diagnostic nothing else. This evacuation they claim I needed could be a scam charge too, that is however speculation derived from the business practices they've displayed so far to me this visit. Won't be going back and got the repairs they recommended somewhere else. Btw- Jiffy lube diagnosed this car with the same problem 2 weeks prior, and their diagnostic test was free. read more

Huge ripoff!!! I just moved from Prescott were I used Brake Masters for all my repairs, thinking that all Brake masters are the same I took my Jeep to this shop. I was told that I needed a new fuel injector and Charcoal canister in order for me to be able to pass inspections. I called my mechanic in Prescott who told me that sounded strange and I should ask them if they preformed a smoke test. He said that he didn't know of any brake masters that have that ability. I asked the employee if they had preformed a smoke test and he assured me that they had. Total cost of the repair would've been over $700!!! When I said that I would think about it they started to "bargain" with me and said they would take off the cost of the inspection and a additional $100.00 if I agreed to have the work done. I said no and paid for a oil change and the inspection. I went to my mechanic in Prescott and had the problem fixed for 95 dollars!! No fuel injector needed and no Charcoal canister, just a $5 hose!!!!!!! I will never go back and I will be sure to tell all my friends what a ripoff this place is! read more
