    Patty Melt & House Salad
    Najah H.

A neighborhood staple since 2002! That says a lot considering what the city has been through over the past 24 years. The atmosphere - it's sort of like a dive bar but more like the local pub where you grab tacos, a cold brew or a burger. Don't skip the tater tots! Also, breakfast and brunch are good options. On this visit, we had the Patty Melt and two Shrimp Tacos. Kept it simple with water since it was lunchtime. But they have a full bar and drink specials. Indoor and outdoor seating is plentiful. Parking on the street is how it's done. A few designated spaces but around the corner is fine. Service is attentive and friendly. Refilling our cups, checking in and making sure we're good to go. Definitely worth the stop when in College Park.

    Da Brakepad!

I've been going here for almost a decade now and it remains to be the most important social spot in College Park. Food: The food is solid and overall value for quality is a 4.5 out of five stars. You'd be surprised to know that even though it is not a Mexican restaurant, they do a pretty good job with their quesadillas because the kitchen is percent Mexican guys! Along those same lines, the rest of the fare is well seasoned and they rarely miss. The Burgers are a sure bet also. If you feel like you need something healthy though, I recommend the Goat Cheese salad! Service: The service is good here with few exceptions. I'll give the service a 4.5 out of 5 stars also! Sometimes you catch a server who is more business but the deal is that they tend to always get your order right, and they check on you to see what you need! I tend to err on the side of tipping more here because it's the type of place where they'll take care of you on the drink side of things if you know what I mean. This is not a corporate pour establishment! Atmosphere: It's a neighborhood pub feel! So don't expect fancy because that's not what it is! But it's always a good spot to go meet locals and strike up a conversation! I give the atmosphere for what it aims to be a 4.5 out of 5 Parking: There is not much parking in front of the pub but don't worry, there is plenty of street parking behind it and you won't get ticketed as long as you don't park in front of someone's driveway or something! Billing: There is a fee for using credit cards so I often pay with cash. The fee is small though so it's not a huge deal either way! The overall rating I would give this spot is a 4.5 out of 5 stars, but since it's a neighborhood spot and the staff make a great effort to make you feel welcome, it gets the approval for a 5 star bump! I would definitely recommend giving the Brake Pad a try!

This is a good local spot in Hapeville if you need a quick meal when you're near the airport. The staff were very friendly and I enjoyed sitting on the patio outside. Unfortunately, my burger was lacking some flavor and my fries were limp.

Service here is always great. They were able to accommodate our group of 6, and all our food came out hot and tasty. The drinks were good. We didn't have any specialty drinks, so I definitely would like to come back and try some of them before the holidays are done.

JAN 2025 Do not come to Monday trivia. The new guy won't stop talking and he's awful. Other than that the food is pretty good. Service is good. Monday night trivia is so bad.

Limited parking in front of restaurant with street parking on street beside restaurant. Indoor and outside seating with indoor being mainly bar seating. Staff are friendly but service started slow and picked up. Tables were kept clean. Food was pretty good. A good place for local Main St. vibe for food and drinks.

Chris is awesime! Hella cool and he's been here for ages. Quick and efficient service. We self seated and he brought over menus and took our drink order. This is a local spot and they have indoor and patio seating with tvs to watch the games. Food is always good with nice portions. Good selection of salads, sandwiches burgers and quick bites.

Brake Pad has been a community staple for decades, and for good reason. I've consistently had great service and good food. The atmosphere is always friendly, and everything is made fresh to order. Corey, Heather, and Regina are amazing. They make every visit feel special.

College Park was a nice spot for a lunch stop before returning my hire car and flying home. With a couple popular restaurants, parking took some time as the front car park was full as well as the neighbourhood streets. Service was friendly and prompt. I chose the Cali BLT (as a wrap) with tots and iced tea.

Food was tasty. Service was friendly but painfully slow. Stopped here for a bite before a flight out. We had plenty of time to kill, so it wasn't an issue. If we had been in a hurry, though, we likely would have had to leave with empty stomachs because it just took too long. Too long to get menus, too long to order, too long to get the food, and too long before the server came around again to find out we wanted the check. We were there more than two hours and didn't even order appetizers, dessert, or drinks. I ordered the steak tacos, which had good flavor. My daughter ordered the mac and cheese with fries and had no complaints. My friend ordered a hummus wrap with tater tots. She specifically asked for no onions and the wrap came with onions, so she sent it back and got a new one without onions. The food was all pretty good. Aside from the mixup, everyone enjoyed their food. If you aren't in a hurry, this can be a good experience, but if slow service is a deal breaker for you, then you may want to look elsewhere.

My family and I are in Atlanta every other year for the Peachtree Road Race. We always stay in College Park since it's convenient to the airport and MARTA train. We've passed Brake Pad many times, but we finally stopped in this summer. There was a little bit of a line, but we were seated pretty quickly. The room in the front can take advantage of the nice weather since it's surrounded by glass garage doors. It started raining while we were there, so thankfully they are also easy to close. The chicken egg rolls are not to be overlooked. The burger and patty melt were great. We will definitely be back next time we're in town.

They have a upstairs eating area also. This place is simple but cute. It was lunchtime and service was top tier. I was greeted once walking in and immediately seated. I must do better with remember names...smh because my server deserves all the recognition, I can say he was a Caucasian, older gentleman. He was amazing!!! He was so nice, knew the menu, made recommendations, and kept a check on me. I found that all the staff helped each other, if water got low, another staffer filled it, plates got empty, someone different may take them away. Everyone was really nice. Now let's get into the drinks and food.... Mimosa(peach) perfectly mixed. The gumbo was recommended and it was good, it had nice size shrimp. The calamari was really good also. For my entree, I had the Shrimp cescer salad, it was delicious... even after finishing it up later that evening because I was so full. I could and would recommend checking them out for sure.

The dining room can get loud if all the tables. Full bar / wine serving Cajun style with a "Atlantean" flair. Service: 5 stars Rarely do I give a 5 star rating for a server but our server was exceptional. He was polite, friendly, helpful and was very attentive. He mentioned some recommendations and as a foodie himself, he made a couple recommendations. Food: 4-4.4 stars Shrimp Po-Boy: 4 Stars for the Po-Boy due to amount of shrimp, though they were larger than normal. The shrimp was seasoned and lightly breaded. However, the bread was wonderful. Light, airy, flaky and had the right amount of crunch to it. The creole sauce was good but the Po-Boy needed some additional hot sauce. The perfectly cooked fries were AWESOME! Highly recommend to get a side if your entree doesn't come with it. Lightly salted with hint of other seasoning and herbs and had the right amount of chew and crunch to them. Also, I believe the oil they use was a better quality than normal. Blacken Mahi-Mahi- 5 Stars The grilled blackened fish has the perfect on of Creole seasoning and was topped with a house-made Chimichurri Sauce and possibly honey. Served with seasonally roasted root vegetables. My wife loved it so much the plate was practically cleaned! LOL! Dessert Beignet - 3.75 Stars By our server's recommendation we ordered a serving of 3 beignets w Pecan Praline Caramel sauce. The beignets were hot and fresh and had a "snowy" amount of powdered sugar. It was covered with goodness. When we bit into them, they were light, airy and had a bit of a chew to them. My wife likes them more than Cafe Du Monde but I thought the dough had more chewiness to them. The Praline sauce was ok. Also, the sauce is extra $3.50. NOTE: Do not order a carton of water - Cost $5. Wasn't worth it. Get regular water. If we were staying another day, we would definitely come back. I highly recommend the place. Also, the have another located situated in downtown Atlanta. But I suggest to stop by at the OG place in College Park. Small time atmosphere with great food! Enjoy!

For the most part, people seemed to enjoy it so I was convinced I should check it out. The restaurant is located inside of the Hilton airport Hotel. When I walked in I was greeted by a staff member and seated immediately. Shortly after I was seated my wait staff came over and introduced herself. She took my drink order and said she would allow me time to look over the menu. I asked my wait staff her thoughts on the Mac and cheese. I am picky about eating Mac and cheese from places. Most don't know how to make real Mac & cheese ( if you know what I mean)! She told me it was pretty solid. - As such I ordered the following: Crab bisque Smoked chicken wing plate served with two sides: Mac & cheeses and asparagus were my picks! The crab bisque did take a long time to come out. It was so delayed that my main course came out shortly after the soup. It was not ideal, but I made it work! The crab bisque was solid. I would order it again. The wing plate also exceeded my expectations! I was impressed with the mac and cheese. The asparagus were large, which was concerning to me! Like how did they get so big? Steroids? Nonetheless, they were cooked to perfection! I did get the banana pudding to go- this was the only item I would not order again! It was basic and I only took a few bites and ended up trashing it . Overall I would reconned this spot! Service was spot on- and for a hotel restaurant the food is pretty good!

Matter of fact, the waitress said she would discount the tab because of our unusually long almost-an-hour-in-this-place wait, but she never did. We just paid for the the overpriced food & left because lunchtime was over & my husband had to go back to his conference in the hotel. I took the food back to the room to be eaten later.
