Wanted to get a full tuneup of the car. Was promised an oil change as a part of the deal. After 2 days at the shop, when I was trying to fetch the car, Carlos was not at his customer service best! Well anyway, on my way home, the car started to jump. After an hour of running urgent errands, I brought the car back only for Carlos to find out that someone had missed plugging back some wires!! Found this shop based on other Yelp reviews. The owner is honest and they do a great job. Had a brake problem with my Toyota Camary. (metal on metal sound when I applied the brakes). Called on a Friday and was given a first thing Monday appointment. Over the phone Carlos wished me a good weekend. Showed up a bit before 8:00 Monday morning the car was up on the lift and inspected by 8:15. Carlos the owner explained and showed me the problem also explained my options. Decided to take the more expensive option which was less costly than I expected. He promised the car back by 1:00 PM. Showed up at 1:00 and the car was ready The repair was great and needless to say I was pleased with the price and the quality of the work. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the reviews about these guys were correct. They were fast, friendly and did exactly what I needed. They were less than the estimated price. I have found a new shop for my cars. There are several honest mechanics in town but you would be hard pressed to find the small town feel of this friendly place. It's a clean shop and I felt really good about the price they quoted. I don't think I could have gotten a better price anywhere for 2 new calipers, rotors, pads and flushing brake lines. - read more

Called before I took my car in, they were very friendly (at first) they quoted me $145 to fix brakes. Then I brought my car in, they charged me $350 and worked on it for 30 minutes but stayed on lift for one hour and 45 minutes. They waited 30-45 minutes for the parts store to deliver which was literally accross the street. After I confronted the owner about the horrible service the owner wadded up my receipt and threw it at me. I would not recommend anyone to go this place of business. read more

I was visiting Dallas and my car broke down in Dallas on New Years Day. I "knew" it was a bad alternator, so I bought an alternator and tried to fix it myself. It turned out to be too difficult with the tools I had, so I asked my son, who lives in Dallas, for a shop recommendation. He recommended Brake Stop, so we had it towed there and I went back home (Houston area). When they opened on Monday, i called and Carlos said he would take a look at it. He called back and said the alternator was fine, but the battery had a bad cell and wouldn't charge. They could have easily charged me hundreds of dollars for an alternator job and new battery, but they were HONEST and just replaced the battery. What a refreshing experience! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I'm still relatively new to Dallas (from Alabama) and I can honestly say I have yet to meet any others as kind and honest people as the ones that work here. I'm used to getting screwed over at dealerships and body shops because they see a young woman and assume I'm clueless, but Carlos treats me with the utmost respect and I COMPLETELY trust my car with him! They are also a full-service shop, despite the name, so I recommend them to everyone for everything! This place is the best. The worst part of moving to a new city is having to find all of the reliable contractors and repairmen that you took so long to find through trial and error. Carlos was the man and they do much more than just breaks. He tells you what you need and don't need. He did a great job on my car's brakes but told me not to bother on some of my wife's car repairs as it it wasn't worth it for such an old car and didn't charge a dime to look at it.
