I took my car in for an alignment here. First of all, my door handle had grease on it-wish that was the worst thing I noticed. I got about half a mile down the road and my wheels were shaking! I've used Brakes Plus on Signal Butte & Southern twice now. The first time around, I took my Crown Victoria in for an alignment. The price was great and the quality of the work was phenomenal. They let me know immediately that I had a bad pitman/idler arm. So, I was able to run to the parts store and pick up what I needed, get home and get my baby fixed. They also informed me that after I had fixed the issues, they would realign my car again within 90 days, for FREE! Of course, I took my wife's car in for an alignment when it needed it last week. My mother drove in from out of state. Her air conditioning was broken in the middle of summer. Mike was able to give us an estimate, without an appointment, within an hour. He spoke with my mother about her options, he spent time explaining everything in a kind and compassionate manner. He was honest. He was upfront. I wish there was an option for a zero star rating! We took our Honda Element in for an alignment. They weren't quite ready for it so we left in our other car with specific instructions to call us BEFORE they did any work on it. We got a call awhile later saying our vehicle needed new brakes (our brakes were in excellent condition) and that there was leakage somewhere in the rear. We got back to the shop as quickly as we could, but sure enough, our vehicle was lifted up on the rack with all four tires off and work already in progress. They put our car back together and we drove away. It shook and pulled harder than ever, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor, and now the rear differential leaks. We took it to Honda for an inspection and they found that bolts were left loose on several parts in the rear and there was air in the brake line. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL WE GO HERE! read more

warning to all, do not go to this shop. they will mess up your vehicle and then refuse to take responsibility. i have paid out thousands of dollars in the past 6 months to fix what they broke and i feel they should reimburse me. their mechanics are incompetent and instead of repairing the issue, or admitting they can't, they tinker around and rig things to appear fixed so they can get you out of their shop. their managers lie to and cheat the customers. my vehicle has so many problems now since these shysters touched it, i can't begin to explain them. but there is proof that they adjusted things they shouldn't have, masked, bandaged and straight up covered up issues and essentially put me at risk of my vehicle catching on fire or just leaving me completely stranded and destitute. beware of this place. do not under any circumstances trust then with even your skateboard. read more

Waste of time, at least it wasn't a waste of money. They told me the terrible squeal wasn't from bad breaks, but "glazed" rotors. But the squeal was still there, if not worse, and when I took it to another mechanic they showed me how they were so worn down they had ruined my rotors. There was so much rust they couldn't even get the bolts out. Clearly no one at Brakes Plus had even looked at my brakes before telling me they were just fine. I guess I'm glad they didn't charge me, but I had to drive with bad breaks for another week before I could get it in to another mechanic, huge waste of time and stress on my and my family. read more

i take vehicles there for oil changes because its convenient. they told me i needed a new rack and pinion because it was leaking very bad... that car has been in my driveway for 5 years and i don't have one drop of oil/ps fluid on it.. bring my other vehicle there and that one "leaks" also.. have that one on the street and it doesn't leak. tried throwing me a estimate for $1300. lol. i don't care how convenient the location is, i will not go back.. its funny they would even think i would actually let them do work on my car other than an oil change.. read more

Getting work done on my car is always such a chore, it can be so inconvenient and time consuming but at brakes plus they really have the client in mind. I used their convenient over night drop, you park your car in their lot and seal your key with your info in their drop box. The next day your car is on deck first thing! I got to sleep in on my Saturday morning AND my car was done by the time I was up and ready for it. The manager Henry was friendly and professional, he called to go over everything I needed and was so diligent even reminded me my tags were expired - that's exactly the kind of detail oriented team I want working on my car. They even checked out my AC since I said it wasn't running as cold as usual, and instead of trying to convince me that I need an expensive fix or replacement, they just said I was low on freon and filled it up for me NO extra charge. I took my car in a month to 2 months ago for an alignment they got it in and had it done in 20 mins ,I am not a mechanic but ha e been wrenching on cars and watching it before I could. So n I know that when doing an alignment you check for certain things,loose tie rods,bad bushings, I was told it was good ,we'll i did my brakes over the weekend and while under car I grabbed the lower control arm and it shook so easily ,after inspecting I found bad bushings were the culprit, so I replaced all front bushing and put my car back together to find the toe alignment is noticeably off, way off, the front driver Tire points left and front passenger Tire points right ,so I called to ask why i wasn't told about the bushings etc ,afternoon needed to make another appointment, then they told me Wednesday afternoon this was Monday mid day ,I am in customer service and when my customers call in with a possible issue I take immediate care of it ,I wasn't asking for a hand out I already adequate the necessary repair just wanted to pay for another alignment, so after they wasted my time asking my car year make and model and my name then they said sorry Wednesday afternoon ,lame , read more

The worst experience I have ever had with a shop. Where do I begin? Took my GF's Cadillac in for an AC repair. The car is 15 years old but in (was) in immaculate condition. They had the car for over a week and when we got it back there was grease everywhere in the interior. The dash had not been put back right (radio trim literally fell of when driving). We took it to a Cadillac dealer and was told and shown where they had torn the dash off, breaking the clips and GLUED it back on. According to the paperwork and checking the odometer when we picked the car up, there was 60-70 miles unaccounted for and we found strange water bottles in the BACK seat storage area. There is a broken strut and loose tie rod also that wasn't an issue before. We are pretty sure some one from the shop took our baby joyriding. We reported to the BBB but no satisfactory resolution yet. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHADY PLACE!!! read more

I brought in our Toyota FJ Cruiser for an oil change and was told that the car needed new pads and rotars in the front, and new shocks. Brought the car into Toyota dealer and was told the car needed new pads in the front but it did not need rotars or shocks at all. I wouldn't go back here even for an oil change! they are very dishonest and shouldn't be in business! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I was experiencing some shaking while I was driving on the freeway at 65 +mph speeds. I brought my car in to get looked at, thinking I had possible rotor issues that needed to be fixed. After my inspection, the manager let me know that my rotors were warped, my brake pads were bad, and I had some other issues on my rear drums. I was quoted $500 to fix the repairs, and at the time I was a little hesitant since I didn't have $500 that day. I felt the manager had been trying to show sympathy, he offered to help in anyway, to let them take care of everything that day. I ended up leaving because I couldn't afford it, and a friend recommended that I should get a 2nd look from another mechanic, when I went to Sunland Auto they had told me that my rotors were still in really good condition, and my brake pads had about 70 percent life on them still, and they wouldn't charge me for the maintenance check because it would be a disservice to me. They recommended I went to discount tire because shaking at high speeds is usually a tire defect. And the end of it all, my tires had been separating, and I needed two new tires, and ever since then my car has been driving really smoothly. It makes me sick knowing the manager at Brakes Plus tried sympathizing with me, trying to persuade me to apply for financing so they could fix my problem, when my brake pads and rotors were in great condition. Had it not been for Sunland Auto, I might have spent $500 on repairs that would have not fixed my issue. My car won't visit another Brakes Plus. read more
