I went in knowing my truck needed brake pads replaced at 4pm on Friday. I was just going to have them check to see what time I could make an appt for on Sat. Jason was very friendly and said they will check them to see what was needed. When they pulled the tires it was obvious, there were very little pads left. He called around to find the right ones and the shop stayed past closing to make sure it was safe to drive. I have been taking my truck there for years and will continue to do so. Went by today with coupon for $20 oil and lube service with free tire rotation. Not only did they do that but while the rotation was beijg doje they inspected my brakes. I knew the brakes needed some work, but did not have the money to get the job done today. Pete, the service manager called andnsaid the rotors on the car were not the correct ones which caused premature wear of the pads. He asked where I had the brakes done. I told him it was another brakes plus location and that it was back in 2011. He verified that was true and proceeded to replace both the rotors and the pads and upgraded them to ceramic for free. He did this all under warranty. I walked out paying a total of 28 bucks for everything. Thank you Pete and Brakes Plus for your honesty and great service! read more

i always bring my car to brakes plus, even just for a simple oil change. they also performed my 60k service for half the cost as the dealer wanted to charge. the work they do has always been done right the first time and ive always walked out of there happy with the results. the staff is slso extremely nice, i always come back for any auto repair needs read more

I took my car to Brakes Plus in Surprise yesterday because my rear brakes were grinding. I figured I would have to make an appointment to get them taken care of. I dealt with four (4) different men there. Wayne made me feel very comfortable and showed respect. They put my car on the rack and then Roger took me back to see what the problem was. I don't recall what the gentleman's name was who described the problems I had. I know some of the mechanics of a vehicle having had a CDL. When he told me they could fix it that same day I gave him a hug as I had to drive to Sky Harbor airport today and was not happy about taking the car that far. Roger went over the pricing with me then even took me home while they fixed my car. Another gentleman who was also very nice, called me when my vehicle was done and said he would pick me up to pick up my car. I will definitely go back to this Brakes Plus. I was a little uncomfortable taking my car there as I have had some horrendous experiences as other chain places. If I could give them a ten-star rating, I definitely would. This place definitely practices unethical business procedures. You bring your car in for one thing and next thing you know you are needing things that you have never heard you need even though you took it to a different shop right before. I know this because I have shopped them twice and both times they did the same thing. Told me something was going to be $250 and when I showed up to pick up my car it was $1,000. Took it back to Fletcher's and it was only the $250 originally quoted. These guys are not to be trusted and I hope this post helps at least one person from not making the mistake that I almost made twice! read more

I went to this place because it is close to where I live. My car needed a new alternator and they did it. It was not cheap and when I picked it up I realized it wasn't blowing cold air. But I was already on my way to work. There is a Midas near my work and I had to find out what was wrong with the air. Midas said that the compressor was not plugged back in. It is very important to have air in Arizona. Either this is a scam and they try to get you to bring it back in because they also work on air. Or they are just careless people and shouldn't be working in public. Be aware this is a problem I had. read more

Brakes Plus should be called Bill Plus. They don't pad your brakes they pad the bill. What started out as a $300 estimate ended up being $750, and the guy had the nerve to ask my wife out right in front of me. He said I needed this special additional part to make the brakes wear evenly, but I thoughht "How am I supposed to listen to this guy about even wear when he has one buck tooth more jagged than the next?" All this was done while he was eating a ham and swiss on poppyseed roll, and when I left, the entire engine blockdropped not 30 feet from the site. I called him on my cell phone to tell him what happened, but when he picked up, I just heard laughing. I walked back and remembered what he said to my wife. Cannot waste any time posting a positive review for Brakes Plus in Surprise. Went in for oil change and tire rotation. Had a real problem when a couple (few) lugs snapped due to weakening when lug nuts were previously over- tightened Not good. No choice. We have to fix this. They made it good and at an extremely fair price. My mind was put to ease knowing that my car was safe to drive. They took very good care of the problem and I didn't feel "taken advantage of". What a relief! Val is excellent at taking care of the customer. And the crew actually knew what they were doing and cared that they were doing a good job! Price charged for its service is reasonably good but, beware, they will tell you that you need a particular service that is totally false. Before having any pricey service done, get at least two or three other opinions done. In my case, they told me that I needed new brakes and that I would have to have my rotors replaced. After getting multiple checks done by others, it turned out that there was no such problem and that I had several thousand miles left on the existing brakes. Several months later, I finally had the brakes replaced and the rotor linings only needed grinding. read more

2013 I went and got an oil change from brakes plus surprise and when I got my car back there was stuff missing from inside of my car. I went back and ask for manager Wayne he said this did not happen at my shop. So I call surprise police department because Brakes Plus employees stole my hand gun out of my car, case under investigation. read more

They are pretty pricey.For two engine mounts I was charge $250.00 ,one mechanic drove my car for several minutes like he was shopping with my car to check my brakes.I explained him about the noise of my wheels when I turn left and right but he took my car anyway to drive on the streets .For me he was very confused. read more

Our recent experience with this repair shop was not good. We were told that the repair would depend upon what they found upon examination of the car. On a phone call we were quoted a price and when we picked up the car, the price had jumped over $100 and because we had no written documentation we were stuck. My recommendation to anyone using this shop is to get everything in writing without exception. We will of course pay the bill however we will never again use this place and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I went to this place out is connivence because l live like 2 minutes from here. I called the night before and made an appt. for 8:15am because they opened at 8am I got there and checked in at 8:15 and it took just about 2 hours!!! For a basic oil change.. I was bothered because I had my 1 & 1/2 year old with me and she of course started to get antsy because we had to wait so long and not one time did the guy up front check on us or offer any kind of explanation for the long wait. I will next time not worry about the connivence and I will got to another place because I will not be retuning. read more

I went into brakes plus because I was recommended by discount tire to get an alignment after my tires wore through too quickly. I made an appointment and dropped off my truck Monday morning. After having my vehicle for just over an hour I received a call from Charlie, who explained that I needed much more than an alignment. $1400 more to be exact. I explained that $1400 isn't easy to come by and I wanted to wait to do repairs since it was not immediately necessary, and I wanted to come and pick up my vehicle. After arriving I was met by high-pressure sales pitch to fix my vehicle. Since no work had actually been done I did not owe them any money and I wanted to leave. It took me nearly 20 minutes for them to give me my keys back so that I could leave. I left feeling very uncomfortable and decided to do some research into the local shops to get the work. I found that S/S tire came highly recommended by users on the Internet as well as the Better Business Bureau and went to see them instead. I'm so glad I did! They were very helpful and friendly and showed me exactly what was wrong with my car. It turns out I did need most of the repairs, however their total bill only came to $950. Brakes plus was trying to rip me off for almost $500 of unneeded parts and labor. Beware!! read more

I feel it's necessary to write this review now for a brake job that was done back in September 2014. After having the brakes done on our Ford F-150 by Brakes Plus there was noises immediately coming from the underside of the vehicle. We thought it was related to the brake work so we took it back and to our surprise, we were told that the left and right arms among other things needed to be replaced. We left there stunned with a quote for $2,400. We recently took our vehicle to another company to have the work done and we provided the quote from Brakes Plus so they knew exactly what repairs needed to be done. This company came back to us and not only told us the work was not necessary but that Brakes Plus had sprayed something directly on this area to dry it out and make it squeak. I am sure there's honest mechanics working at Brakes Plus based on the positive reviews I have read, but I am telling you there's a mechanic there that is deliberately sabotaging vehicles in order to create business and take advantage of people. Companies like this should not be in business. We all need to come together as consumers and take them down for good! Shame on Corporate greed and shame on Brakes Plus! I was forced to give them a star, there's no stars involved here, just thief's. read more
