When ever they find something wrong they take you out to the shop and show you what they are talking about and then show you what is should look like. I felt like I had to push down on the brake pedal a little more that I did when I first got the truck. I am thinking that either its low on fluid or I might need new pads, I haven't had any trouble with my brakes. This vehicle is only driven on weekends. I decided to have the brakes inspection, so I took it to Brakes Plus, in Surprise AZ, I received a call about 2 hours to come down to find the results of the inspection. Well they told me that they found these things wrong with my brakes. These things need to be replaced, Ceramic brake pad set, front brake caliper, centric C-tek Brake Rotor, front On-Car Rotor/Hub matching service, Ceramic Brake Pad set Rear brake service -ultra premium , disc hardware kit, clean and adjust rear brakes, flush brake system and its only going to cost me 1332.82. WOW, well I am a woman and I also work in the medical field. If I was diagnosed with a disease and need surgery, or treatment and I wanted to make sure that the diagnosis that I received was validate, I would get a second opinion. I did, I took my truck to another establishment and had a oil change and had they rotate my tires. I also asked they to check my brakes. When I went to pick up my truck, I asked them about my brakes and they stated " they look great, look like this truck is driven much, In fact everything underneath the looks great. They stated that I was a little low on brake fluid and they topped it off and didn't charge me. I can't believe that your company would try to take advantage of your customers. I am sure you all thought I was a stupid woman! But I wasn't born yesterday!. There are no many companies that take advantage of customers anymore for the $$$. I don't trust anyone and I always get a second opinion! In the Surprise area there are a lot of elderly people, I wonder how many of those customers were taken advantage of !!! Had a dead battery in shopping center next to this location. So I walked over and asked if they might be able to give me a jump start. Roger grabbed the "jump box" and walked with me over to car and got me started right away. I then drove over to their shop and they switched out for a new battery in under 15 minutes. Brakes Plus has done my wheel alignment a couple times. They are fast, friendly and a fair price. I got a wheel alignment and fuel induction and spent $176, the dealership was going to charge me $540. The prices are all on the wall so you don't have to be intimidated or feel they are going to rip you off. I had the misfortune of hitting a pothole at 3:30am, after returning home from a vacation. Welcome home, right? I was driving my 2016 Cadillac CTS-V (Not bragging, don't like the car, but you need to know, or you can't take this rating seriously). As I was saying, hit the pothole at 45-50 miles an hour and knew the tires were finished. I watched the TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) drop, as I pulled into a fire station. Cadillac is so awesome, they actually give you a phone number to call, instead of a spare tire (not that a spare would help with two flat tires.) My wife and I waited 20-30 minutes for Sun City towing (wonderful company and kind driver) we dropped the car off at Arrowhead Cadillac and found out that I bent the rims, tore a whole in something and was told my brakes were bad. I was extremely upset, but relieved that I had bought wheel and tire coverage for the car when I leased it. The tires and wheels were 3k and the hole underneath cost a thousand dollars out of pocket approx. I didn't believe the brakes could be bad after only 12k miles on the car, so I refused to have them replaced for $1400. I was told by the dealership that if I waited too long, I'd be buying new rotors as well. I picked up the car on Friday and Wednesday the following week, I took it to this brakes plus, that had told me "It's impossible to have worn out brakes at only 12k miles, if your driving normally, which I do. They took my car into the back and brought me in to show me that the sensor was getting really close to rubbing and that I needed new brakes, out ya, as well as rotors, because this type of "Sports Car," requires you to change your rotors when you change your brakes?!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw the rotors and brakes, what a bunch of crap. The fact that I was wearing a tie and cuff links probably didn't help. I'm pissed off that people think it's ok to steal from you, if you look like you have money. I went into the front of their pseudo office and started looking up facts about the brakes on my car via phone, guess what? You guessed right, no need to change the rotors unless they're warn out too. As I had stated, the sensor wasn't yet touching any of the rotors that make noise! The rotors were absolutely fine. Then it happened, the A-Hole liar at brakes plus said "You're really going to hate this, but its absolutely necessary, if you don't want your brakes to squeal!" He handed me the quote and asked me if I wanted them to take care of it right away? I grabbed the estimate and walked out so fast that I forgot my bag there. The girl inside(the same girl that told me it was impossible to have worn out break pads at 12k miles) came running after me. I asked her, "Do I look like a stupid A-Hole to you?" She replied "Sir, theses things just happen, the car is expensive, what did you expect?" I said "I expected you would replace the brake pads for $800-$900 as you stated, if needed.) She then told me that I could have just the brake pads replaced , if that's all I wanted??? I said "SERIOUSLY!" I then left and called around. Firestone told me it would be slightly less than $800 and that it's embarrassing a store that specializes in breaks, would try to be so dishonest, as it was never necessary to replace the rotors, unless I'd worn through the brake pads and damaged the rotors. Here's the deal, another gentleman with a newer small pickup wearing casual clothes was also questioning why the bill, not the estimate had come back higher!? This place screws people, they should call the place "Just Drivers," as they screw everyone who comes in and the duality of "Just Drivers," is perfect! I'm going to get ahold of corporate, after I take pictures in the morning of my rotors and brake pads. Fool me once and I will do anything out of principle to make it right for not just me, but for everyone. read more

Recently I had my car inspected by the staff at Brakes Plus. I was not only told, but shown the wear on my brakes before agreeing to having the repair work done. It took a little bit of time saving money, but I brought the car back for service as soon as I could. Roger was more than helpful. He saw to it that my car was repaired in a reasonable amount of time while I waited in the lobby. Without this work being completed in an expeditious manner I would not have been able to travel to a commitment in Northern Arizona that same day. When the work was completed I was given my keys and I knew what the repair expense was quoted at. Roger gave me an additional discount that I was not expecting. Roger took me out to the bay, let me physically touch the rotors, broke down my charges, explained why each line item was needed and what it meant, and went out of his way to find coupons for me to use to help me out. Let me start off and say - the only thing I know about my car - is how to get gas. I could hear that the brakes were starting to squeak and I wanted to get them checked-out to avoid more damage and costs down the road. My amazing boyfriend made the appointment for me and we came in a few days later. Dennis helped us and he was amazing! Super knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to talk about everything to us in detail. Even made sure to give us coupons and made the whole process enjoyable! Thought this was going to be a five star kind of place. Trust these guys with both of our vehicles, and our parents vehicle. First issue noticed...dad took car in to rotate tires...not rotated and paid for it. Second issue...was told I needed 2 O2 sensors and a tune up to a tune of $1500. We to my original mechanic and only had a small leak and was fixed under $300. Not sure they are totally qualified or trustworthy now. read more

This is a typical stereotypixal shady auto repair garage. If you have seen them in movies, you know the place: upcharging, lies, sexism and ageism. I went to get an oil change there twice. The first time was fine, the second is where I ran into problems. I found I needed get the control arm fixed on my car. The issue is my car (a 2009 Chevrolet HHR) which only had a lower assembly. The mechanics at this location is told me I needed both an upper and a lower. At best, the mechanics are un-knowledgeable in parts for all cars while at worst, they are crooks. When researching the part, I found out that Brakes Plus has a history that is known for having a reputation for cheating and overselling services to young people and women. I would easily suggest to think twice about going to this or any other Breaks Plus. read more

Just got my Air conditioner serviced here,had a 10 am appointment and was out the door by 10:45 am. It actually came to less than the price quoted. When does that happen. I usually work on my own cars but this is the 2nd time I have used this place & both times I was very pleased. Took my SUV there for an alignment on the recommendation of Discount Tires. They proceeded to give me a quote for almost $2300.00 to basically replace my front end (tie-rods, etc.). Three days later I took my SUV into the Chevrolet dealer for an oil change, had them check everything out; to my surprise I was told there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my front end! They had showed me underneath my SUV where it was supposedly loose, what a croc! I couldn't see any movement at all but they insisted the rubber mounts were bad as well! There was no uneven pattern on the tires that I had just replaced that same morning! Sorry Brakes Plus, you didn't get one single cent from me! Is the honeymoon over? Been bringing my vehicles here for 5 years now. I could expect good Customer Service with work done right. As of lately though it's been hit & miss. Tires not rotated when they were suppose to be, air wasn't checked fluids not filled etc. Although both times they did offer to get it right if I could bring the vehicles back in.
