So I had a really great experience at this location. The staff was really great. Now I did not plan on spending the amount I did but glad I did my truck now drives like it's new. Some were complaining of high labor rates guess what that is the industry standard. Do you think they are going to hire labor for $8 an hour. The staff is trained well get over yourself about labor and part prices. Literally I don't remember my truck driving this great when I purchased it new. I was told by anoither service shop while doing an oil change that I needed a rear brake job so I droped my car off at this facility and they drove me back home. BEWARE of extra charges! My car had its back brakes replaced at this location before I took ownership and I had all the paperwork. The front brakes had started squealing so I called to make an appointment at the same location so they could check everything. I talked to the manager, who was very polite over the phone, and he said he made an appointment for me to bring in my car at 8am the next morning. When I arrived the next morning, there was only one other customer there. I was told that I didn't have an appointment on the schedule so they would have to fit me in. Not a problem. I told them I would wait. I had brought a book to read in anticipation of any work being done that day. It took an hour and a half before someone came to talk to me about my car. They showed me my front brake pads, said that the reason I've been feeling a vibration when I brake is because they were getting worn down and since I am driving my family around he suggested I replace them (what vibration?). He said that he recommended I also turn my brake rotors too (shouldn't you do that with every brake pad change?). Also said my rear boots needed to be replaced. But said that since the back brakes are under warranty I would save money there. Then he said that my water pump had a leak at some point, but looks fine now so I would be saving money by not have to replace that too. I asked for the bottom line and they printed out two pages of charges and subtotals. The total work they recommended was close to $1000. I told them to put it all back together as I was not planning on spending $1000 that day. Half an hour later, I was able to leave, although irritated that I spent 2 hours of my PTO day - not to mention the time to drive back and forth across town - sitting there. I managed to find another place that replaced my brake pads, calipers, turned my rotors and checked over everything for $400. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Brakes Plus nor recommending them to anyone! Telling customers they are saving money by not doing work that they don't need done (water pump) is not a good sales tactic. Neither is overwhelming them with individualized charges and paperwork. Not to mention telling someone you made an appointment for them (why take my name and number?) only to have them come in and have to be worked into the schedule. read more

Brakes Plus did a brake inspection and replaced my front brakes on my Camry. The next day I took my car to Toyota Surprise for scheduled maintenance. They claimed the front brakes were used and that my back brakes needed to be replaced. After that I took my car back to Brakes Plus. Jason showed me my brakes and I measured the thickness. The front brakes were new and the back were at 6 mm and DID NOT need to be replaced. In my opinion, Toyota Surprise lied and recommended work that didn't need to be performed. Brakes Plus just lost a long time customer. I took my truck to these guys yesterday for an oil change, pre-Easter trip brake inspection and alignment. To my surprise, I was told that I needed four new rotors, all new pads, and that my master cylinder was leaking. The reason for the surprise is that this truck barely gets driven and has an average milage of less that 10k per year. I was also informed that the alignment could not be performed due to my bushings and some other suspension issues that would cause it to "not hold". Every time I take a vehicle in to this shop I have no less than $700 in repairs that "need" to be performed, so this time I decided to respectfully decline. I just returned from a different and more reputable shop (mainstream brand name) and had them do a complete inspection for a second opinion without informing them of the inspection that I had just received at Brakes Plus. Their findings were quite different. And I quote... "Brakes look great, there are no problems. Those are . some nice pads, and the rotors look good. Looks almost brand new". I then proceeded to ask for the alignment inspection to make sure it would hold, I was told the suspension also looked great and that the alignment was no problem. I would beware. I will be contacting the BBB as well as the Attorney Generals Office at this point due to having two sets of documentation that are wildly different in conclusion. I will also be going for a third inspection from an additional unspecified mechanic to compare with the first two findings. I would like to also add, as I left brakes plus, there was a poor young woman who looked shocked, and when I asked her what was wrong she said "I came in for a $67 alignment and am told I need $1700 worth of work". I was in Surprise and taking a vehicle back to California. I wanted a quick oil change and to have the fluids topped off prior to driving back, so I called Brakes Plus based on their good reviews on Yelp. They were busy but able to squeeze me in for an afternoon appointment. I arrived and was waited on quickly. It took about 45 minutes in total to get the oil changed, which was okay with me. Nice thing was Yelp had a first check-in discount for 10% off. Overall these guys are very friendly and provide good service. I WISH I HAD LISTENED TO THE 1 OR 2 STAR REVIEWS! They got me in with a better coupon then their competitors, which I have gone some where else in the past but in trying to save a few bucks I came here instead. I made an appointment for an alignment, I got new tires and knew an alignment is recommended even though I didn't notice any issues. I brought my car in 10 mins early, They said could take up to 3 hours, which I wish I had known that when I made the appointment, but I was there and wanted it done, so fine. I leave for a walk, get a call an hour later saying they won't even do the alignment because I needed a left tie rod and it would be $280, I declined. So I go back and he has an estimate of all kinds of things I need from an oil change to all struts needing to be replaced and my rear shocks for a almost $1,400 estimate! I called my husband who is very familiar with cars and he said none of that sounds right, and to go to brake master where we've gone before. I went to brake master and I didn't mention my visit to brakes plus, I wanted to see what they were gonna say, they got me in immediately no appointment needed. It was about an hour and the were done, they didn't say I needed anything. So I told them what brakes plus told me and he took me out to my car on the lift and showed me everything, he said my right strut is barely leaking and everything else is perfectly fine. Had me with gloves on jiggling my tires to show that my ties were fine. So moral of the story listen to your gut, and get a second opinion, and save yourself time and just go to brake master! Also they were running a promotion for struts and shocks... Hmmm how convenient. As a store manager I know that upper management pushes sales on promotion items.... Glad I said no. read more

GREAT SERVICE AND HONESTY! On the way from Vegas to Mexico in the middle of August my A/C started acting up....very little air flow and not bowing very cold air. After making a stop at Honda and being told $135 and 3-5 hours to diagnose and repair, I called and spoke with Cory on the phone. He was exceptionally polite and helpful. We headed over expecting a somewhat shorter 2-3 hour wait and anticipating a failing blower motor. Because we were "tourists" and had no place to go, they actually had my car in to be diagnosed in less than half an hour! Here's where the story gets really good. We were at their mercy really...middle of the desert, hundreds of miles from either home or our destination, no tools to work on it ourselves, and no a/c in 106 degree weather. The advisor, Wayne, comes in and tells us it looks like the unit was just frozen over. Says it's common for some reason on long drives in high heat when the humidity level is relatively high. After sitting with the engine off for 30 minutes or so everything defrosted and was working perfectly! The best part...no charge! My car is 12 years old and honestly we wouldn't have blinked twice if something was broken. Kudos to this team for their exceptional service and honesty! read more

If it were possible to give them a 0 star I would. I took my truck to them for an alignment, two months later I get a blowout from one of my brand new front tires, turns out they didn't align them correctly. I took it to them to fix the alignment (I even bought a new pair of tires instead of making them pay for it like I should have) and they gave me every excuse in the book as to why they can't. One of which was that they couldn't put the two new tires on that were already mounted and balanced on separate rims. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE!!! read more

Had a 10 AM appointment which meant nothing still had to wait an hour before brakes were looked at authorized brake job which was over $600 even with 10 percent discount, was going to wait but the cushions of the three chairs in the waiting room were so disgusting filthy I would not want my dog to sit on them. So called wife to pick me up at 11 good thing I did, car was supposed to be ready 1 was not ready till after 3. The brakes are working fine but the filthy cushions in the waiting room and slow service were not a good experience! read more

Ok, so this ISN'T new. It is actually a correction. I didn't realize until I dropped off my car this morning that there's another place with a VERY similar name--SORRY! I kept getting coupons in the mail for this place, so I decided to check it out. I recently had an auto repair shop tell me I needed to replace both front & rear brakes and wanted a second quote before forking over cash I didn't really want to part with. They did a full inspection and not only negated what the first auto place told me but provided a report showing how much 'brake' life I had left before I needed to bring it in for replacement. They could've just taken my money but this demonstrated they wanted to keep me as a customer and that's exactly what they got. I now take my car there for routine oil changes and other work (e.g., engine flush, etc) when necessary. 7/1/08 Just dropped off my car for routine service. They've now added free wifi for customers who want to wait @ the shop. I luv me some free wifi. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I rate them with one star only because you can not select negative or zero stars. I was referred here from discount tire for an alignment. I arrived at 10am on a Tuesday morning. After numerous attempts to up sale me for brakes, rotors, and a diagnostic check. I was finally back on the road with a tire balance and rotation at 1pm. That's right NO ALIGNMENT and a three hour tire balance and rotation job. The alignment did not get done as I was told at the end while I was paying because "one of my heads are bent on my machine" I received no other explanation or even a mention of another location that could complete what I went there to have done. To add salt to the wound I leave the location and realize that I left my prescription Oakley sunglasses in the lobby of the store. I return to the store 10-15 minutes later and ask if I left my sunglasses there. At this time a man comes out from the back with my glasses and jokingly says "I was going to sell them" to which I replied "It appears so since no one came out to tell me I left them or called me to let me know." Yes, the coupons convinced me to give it a try too :-) The brakes were squeaking and I knew I needed new pads so I decided to give them a try. The service was prompt, courteous and they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Once they had the car up on the hoist they took me in and showed me the obviously worn pads and got my approval before fixing anything. I opted for the Ceramic pads and I would highly recommend them. No brake dust, no squeaking, longer wear and not much more than the Asbestos pads that come with most cars. I take my car there for all my routine maintenance. I was worried walking in here, NO NEED TO BE WORRIED!! My dealer said that my brakes needed to be changed for $200, called brakes plus and they quoted $79 plus they had a $20 coupon online. They insisted on inspecting the brakes first and what do ya know.. It didn't need brake pads! They were very courteous and even physically showed me the pads to assure me that they were fine. We made an appointment online and when we dropped my car off they got my vehicle in and done within 30-40 minutes. They gave us a call with the inspection and to tell us our vehicle was done. When picking up the vehicle and dropping it off we never waiting longer than 2 minutes to be helped. The workers are wonderful and always greeted us with a smile.
