    Texas administrative code for dealerships

Consumers be informed. Every sleazy sells tactic. Hard to recommend. I was sent the OTD or drive out cost. I noticed their math was different than what I calculated. When I checked over their paperwork there was a charge for $1495. I asked what was included in that package, and the salesperson couldn't answer my questions, he said tint, nitrogen and bed liner. Hmm that's interesting the truck comes with bed liner and I have suspicions that there wasn't nitrogen put into the tires. So am I really expected to pay $300 for window tint?? I think I'll pass. The salesperson responded it's already on the vehicle. How convenient. Well I'm not interested in that valueless package. He tells me well he will talk to his manager and let me know. Later I receive a response "The only way they can remove it's do finance thru our banks." I'm not interested financing with them. So I declined that offer. The manager texts me shortly after and says "Benjamin provided we receive the same approval we will be able to match the financing, ultimately is that he only thing holding us back from a deal here? This is Justin jumping in from Brandon Tomes CDJR" I respond... "Good afternoon sir. Thank you for following up with me. I would prefer to use financing from my financial institution for my convenience." No response. However until we got the numbers I have to say the salesperson I was dealing with was extremely helpful. He answered all my questions. He sent me photos and a video of the vehicle. He followed up with me and was extremely courteous. His name is Ricardo R., check him out. Maybe he can advocate for you and get you a good deal.

Sent from personal cell with dealer info strategically cropped out.

There is an odd dynamic in this service department. When you are in for service they write absurdly high quotes, but they don't convey it on letterhead. It's always on the back of a piece of paper and with personal cell phones. Or, they cut out the top of the quote that identifies the dealership and/rep code who's writing the estimate. It is as if they are trying to gouge you to see what you'll pay but don't want corporate to see what they are doing if corporate were to audit the dealer database. I got a 3000 quote for a rattle near my door. Local mechanic said a nut was loose and fixed for 145. They would have fixed the same nut I'm sure but also replace other things that didn't need replacing. Got a brake job estimate tat was triple another CDJR dealer. When you question quotes they get abrasive and nervous.

Worst experience of my life buying a vehicle. Between me and wife, we have bought over 2 dozen vehicles. And with my career, I have met 100's of Owner. Hangs down the worst Here @ DodgeCity CDJR of McKinney. Nothing in there mission Statement is true and I played around there website and it's a show. If they are not making money on you then they will kick you out MEN OF COLOR = my last name is Patel and most of you reading this knows I am East Indian. Then there is helping Communities = Really, Single Mother with 3 disable kids. NONE OF SO CALLED MANGERS in Management picked up the phone and called me.

Information available to the dealer when they scheduled me to come in for a warranty repair (completely wasting my time driving down).

Every. Single. Visit to this place, I have issues. With my wife's Jeep over the last year, we schedule appointments to address a recall... not a soul tells us that they can't fix it until we take off work and drive down to the appointment. This happened MULTIPLE times. The recent trip with her Jeep, we had a shake in the steering wheel. The service rep recommended a balance, rotation, and multipoint inspection. "If it still shakes, it might need an alignment" the service rep says. Didn't fix the issue. I got to a reputable tire dealer-- 30 seconds into looking at the tires, they find the wheels are counterbalanced (not industry standard) and TWO rims have massive bends in them. Dodge City of McKinney didn't say ANYTHING, and that was impossible to miss. I take it back to them to address it, they shrug it off, blame it on the service rep who no longer work there, and tell me they can't and won't do anything (like not even a "here's something for your troubles"). They also tell me for the make/model, it's highly unlikely an alignment would fix it-- providing additional clarity on the recently departed service rep having no clue what they were talking about or doing. I bring in our other Jeep for a recall that I scheduled with them after they looked up the VIN, said it would require a software flash, and set a date. When I showed up (again taking off work), they take the car, I sit in the lobby, and 30 minutes go by before the service rep comes in. Surprise: there is NO FIX AVAILABLE for this recall. Why did they schedule me in the first place? Again, no accountability, no attempt to make it better, nothing. The poor service rep is young, untrained, and has no idea how to handle conflict, so this is again on the management. The training for their staff clearly sucks, the management takes zero accountability, and the customer service is utterly pathetic. I'm a Dodge/Jeep owner of multiple vehicles across multiple dealerships in the U.S. over 8+ years and this is the most frustrating experience with a dealer to date. I'll never return to this location again.

I purchased parts to fix my a/c that already failed twice on my new ram. I found out later they took my money for parts they didn't have and couldn't get. I called in response to the email and explained I was unclear what to do but I was met with sarcasm and attitude after which when I asked for my money back I was hung up on. I still don't have my money and am unable to get a hold of anyone for help with the matter. I guess they really do things differently in Texas

Preferring to buy locally, I visited Toyota of Plano to see if you could match the offer. Instead of a professional discussion, I was met with shocking hostility from one of your managers (a tall gentleman of Middle Eastern descent). He directly attacked my integrity, stating, "I've seen this trick many times; people bring fake quotes from Richardson or Prosper to deceive us." He further alleged, without any evidence, that the other dealer would add a markup of over $6,000. While I respect a dealership's right to decline a price match, I find it unacceptable to be accused of dishonesty. This lack of professional ethics is not only a personal insult but a significant blow to the Toyota brand image. As a direct result of this experience, I returned to Longo Toyota of Prosper the following day and purchased the vehicle there. The contrast in service was stark; they treated me with respect, and my wife is thrilled with our new car. I will be sharing this experience with my community to ensure other buyers know to take their business to dealerships that actually value their customers.

If you are unfortunate enough to own this car and experience this issue you know that there is no easy fix. When I arrived I pulled up, handed the tech the keys, and walked inside to check in. Lawrence was so nice and helpful, let me know a time frame, and explained where the restrooms and snacks were located. He also let me know there was a recall that they would also take care of while they had my car back there. After about 3 hours Lawrence called me up and informed me that they were not able to get the sunroof closed and the cost of getting it fixed is almost $11,000. Having just moved 1000 miles from home, looking for a job, and have now loss my reliable transportation I broke down right at his desk. Lawrence proceeded to go talk to other managers to see how he could help me. He mentioned that they could take the headliner down and MAYBE be able to get it closed that way. I had to take the risk. About 4 hours later he comes out to the lobby with a technician named Tristan. Poor Tristan had been fighting with my sunroof all day, but was determined to help me and continued to try everything he could possibly think of. Eventually all his hard work payed off and he was able to get closed and even washed my car for me. These two men may have just been doing their job to other people, but they really did change my life. They offered support, determination, and the willingness to go above and beyond for a customer. Having just moved to Texas this was my first experience with this location and I now will continue to have my car serviced here. P.S. Let this be a reminder to NOT get a Toyota Camry with a panoramic moonroof!!

We had a due bill for a few items after the sale, and they did an outstanding job. The work was completed efficiently, and the car looks even better than when we purchased it. The sales experience itself was more mixed. We came in with a very clear objective: we had a firm budget and were focused solely on the out-the-door price. We communicated that from the beginning and were consistent throughout the process. The initial numbers presented were nearly $2,000 higher than our target, so naturally there was some negotiation. What surprised me was a comment from the sales manager that seemed to place blame on us for the price we were offering. Our negotiation was respectful and non-confrontational, and Matt handled everything professionally. The sales manager's response felt unnecessary, especially given how clearly we had communicated our goals. It came across as petty and out of touch with the tone of the conversation. Ironically, we ultimately agreed to a price that was about $350 higher than our original target. Despite being heavily involved in the negotiation, the sales manager never came over afterward to shake our hands, thank us for our business, or help close the experience on a positive note. For me, the car-buying experience is about more than the final number. It's about how customers are treated throughout the process. Matt understood that. The service team understood that. Unfortunately, the sales manager missed the mark. That said, we're happy with the vehicle and appreciate the efforts of everyone who helped after the sale. Matt: thank you for your professionalism and genuine desire to help customers. 5 stars Service team: thank you for the excellent work and efficient follow-through. 5 stars Sales manager: I appreciate the hustle, but a little more self-awareness and customer focus would have gone a long way. 2 Stars

The dealership gave me a diagnostic code that turned out to be incorrect and then quoted me nearly $500 for the part and another nearly $500 in labor to fix the supposed issue. That immediately raised red flags. Instead of authorizing the repair, I verified the code myself. Two days later, I had the actual issue repaired for $105.96 total. The code they provided wasn't even the correct one. Whether this was due to incompetence or an attempt to sell an unnecessary repair, neither explanation is acceptable. Customers trust dealerships to provide accurate diagnostics and honest recommendations, not inflated estimates based on incorrect information. This experience reinforced how important it is for consumers to get a second opinion, verify diagnostic codes when possible, and not blindly accept expensive repair estimates. Had I not taken the time to investigate, I could have easily spent close to $1,000 on a repair that ultimately cost just over $100. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this service department. I expected honesty and expertise from a dealership, and unfortunately, I received neither.
