So very disappointed! We love...lovED Brandon's. We just picked up food... brought it home and the hash browns in my burrito were NOT cooked at all. It looked as if they never even touch the skillet and they were cold, I opened my burrito to try and save it by taking the majority of the hash browns out and they clearly were not cooked at all. Same with my husband's potatoes in his chorizo plate, and his beans were cold and slimy looking, and the chorizo looked disgusting . We maybe took one bite of everything and threw the rest away. It was a complete waist of money. I get it businesses are hitting hard times right now... but lowering the standards and possibly getting customers very sick is not worth keeping your doors open. Sadly once we get served food that terrible we never go back. We will not be going back to Brandon's ever again! read more

I love going here for breakfast. They have a lot to choose from, the food is always tasty, and the service is always great! They always have sports on all of the tvs, which is a huge plus for me (the gf doesn't like it because I don't pay attention to her). Make sure that you're crazy hungry if you go here for breakfast...the pancakes are massive and delicious! Every now and then you might have to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated, but it's worth the wait. I always have to unbuckle my pants after eating here. Keep up the good work! read more

I recently visited the Upland location with my parents. I was visiting from northern California, and told them to take me to their favorite local mom & pop diner. My parents have pretty discriminating taste, so I generally trust their restaurant recommendations. However, Brandon's is making me question their choices. The diner was packed, as expected on a Saturday morning, and there were several groups ahead of us. There is almost no room to wait in the restaurant itself, so the majority of us waited outside for about 20 minutes until a table was available. Service was fast, and friendly enough considering how busy the waitress was. The selection of breakfast food was great and I had a hard time making up my mind, after all it is the most important meal of the day. I finally decided an biscuits and gravy, which the menu labeled as world famous, as well as a side of bacon. The food arrived quickly, presented in the most utilitarian of manners. My parents seemed satisfied with their pancakes, but my biscuits and gravy were a giant disappointment. Perhaps I have been spoiled by my own favorite diners, but I expect my biscuits to be flaky, and my gravy to be full of flavorful sausage bits. These biscuits were bready, not flaky, and had an overwhelming flavor of baking soda. The gravy was thick to the point of being pasty, bordered on flavorless, and had very little sausage in it. I was seriously disappointed in the meal, and left most of it on the plate. On the upside, the meal was inexpensive, the bacon was cooked just right and the coffee was good diner coffee. Most of the patrons seemed to be enjoying their food, and a busy restaurant is usually a sign that they are doing something right. At this point, I would't recommend Brandon's Diner and I most certainly wouldn't recommend the biscuits and gravy, but I am not willing to write them off just yet. If you're feeling adventurous, give them a try, maybe I was there on an off day. Either that or the people of Upland have no idea what good diner food is, and that seems unlikely. read more

This place is okay. The first time we went there everything was perfect and the food was really good. The second my boyfriend and I tried this place it was okay. He ordered steak and eggs and the steak medium rare and steak came out well done and second time he brought the steak out it was solid rare. Brandon's diner is within walking distance of my house and since I have an overly energetic husband that bounces out of bed every Saturday morning.... and is in love with Breakfast out ....this place is perfect for us. For the price the food is high quality with nice strips of bacon and good quality sausage meat that you don't normally find in a Denny's or IHOP breakfast. They also serve an excellent whopping breakfast burrito that will leave you full till dinner. The hash browns leave a bit to be desired so I lean toward potatoes or the biscuits and gravy. For about $15.00 a couple can enjoy a large breakfast for two that includes all the fixings without all the cleanup at home. The service overall is good. The dcor is a little dated and worn out but they make up for it by serving up an enjoyable breakfast fast and cheap. This is a local dinner and the locals love it , so you need to plan to leave early (before 8 am if possible) or else you will likely wait for a table if it's a weekend. read more

I wouldn't say exactly a "hole in the wall," but its got a very early-morning classic diner kind of feel to the place. The prices range from about $3.95 to $7 for a breakfast entree. Fortunately, the aforementioned breakfast burrito is at the $3.95 price, with an extra $1 for any type of meat, and an extra $1 for having it "wet" or "green." The burrito is pretty large, but I had it with a full platter (4) of biscuits and gravy (also $3.95) which was also pretty tasty. I'm a pretty hungry guy. I also tried my friend's banana waffle, which was very well done and is recommended. My friend and I ate well for about $20. Service was johnny-on-the-spot, and served with a smile. Food came out in decently quick 5-10 minutes. The menu is large, and mixed as they say. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served all day. Highly recommended. Tasty and homey like BC, but not in ridiculous portions and you don't feel like a heart attack is just around the corner. read more

My family and I were seated in the back corner and upon seating and receiving my water I noticed two big black particles in my water which I thought were bugs but than after the manager looked she discovered some thick black mucus things which I than said was mold she than goes "no" we don't have anything like that here. I used to hate this place, not sure why. I think there was a time when I thought I was too decorous for the diner. But I'm definately over that now. Eggs Benedict, pancakes and typical american fair to the mexican style breakfast items(my personal fav.s) like machaca and eggs, chorizo, huevos rancheros, etc. All very delicious! And then they also have delicious tacos, taco tuesday is the best. I must be honest I haven't tried much else here, but what good is a diner if you can't go and get your favorite comfort foods. This place is alright. I understand the appeal and do want to go back and try lunch or dinner sometime because other items looked pretty good (as far as fried yummy diner food goes). But the breakfast I had with my boyfriend was just alright. It was booming and there are soooo many options but the cinnamon french toast was really dry and not as mouthwatering and sugartastic as I had been led to believe. The coffee was really bad but the orange juice was super cold and yummy so that was a plus. The portions are huge and I really like how you can sort of build your own breakfast with all the choices you have for sides - I think if I go back for breakfast I will try just getting eggs and hash browns because on the sweet side - they just didn't cut it with the french toast. Delicious food And AMAZING service! This family owned restaurant definitely made it to my top breakfast diner list. Came in to unexpectedly have to wait due to the high volume of people waiting to come into this place, but trust me it was worth the wait. Once we came in we were very much welcomed by all the workers and greeted by it our fantastic server, Christina. We had one American dish, T-bone steak and eggs and one Mexican dish, menudo w/ tortillas; both in which were made to perfection. Astonishingly they even sell beer here! Not bad at all. My wife and I reluctantly agreed to give it a try because we were I the area. I had the pancake special she had ham and eggs and honestly I was very impressed. Simple food is the easies to screw up and Brandon's Diner put out a respectable meal. Plenty of food without being obnoxiously large, ingredients seemed fresh and well prepared. Service was fine, somewhat absent but honestly that is my favorite kind of server, I don't know you, I don't want to know you but I never needed anything that wasn't present. This is my favorite breakfast spot, but is super busy in the mornings on the weekend. If you want to get seated right away, you need to get there by 9 am or before. Otherwise, count on a 15 minute + wait. Regardless, the food is worth the wait. The portions are huge and there are tons of options to choose from. The coffee is smooth and they are great about refilling your cup. On a separate note, their taco Tuesday is decent. Came here on a Friday for their salmon dinner special and I was impressed with the value of that as well. Can't say enough good things about this place. Thought I'd treat myself to breakfast at Brandon's Diner. I was not impressed. Waited awhile to be seated inside, so I opted for a patio table. I didn't want to wait an hour or so until someone finished their fine dining experience. HA! Had the cinnamon french toast and it was dry and about 2000 calories. Server then says I should have had the regular french toast. It has cinnamon in it. (Yeah after I finished my meal. Duh.) Service was slow. Had to wait a long while to get a refill for my coffee. Server said their biscuits and gravy was not all that great. The gravy doesn't have sausages. Should have taken this as a sign of how the day was going to flow. You can never lose with Brandon's diner. They serve all kinds of comfort food, including breakfast all day long. The servers are nice, the food is brought out promptly and they always offer "to go" cups for our drinks when we're ready to leave. Their prices are reasonable as well. I will eat at Brandon's for the rest of my life. So glad that there are many in the general area - Upland, Rancho, Ontario, Fontana, etc., and all are great. read more

This place is good. Its not very unique; its just like any other american diner that you can find but the food is hot and the amount served is generous. I went for breakfast and I must say their french toast was actually really good although I felt like it woulda been better with hot syrup. My friend ordered the deep fried chimichanga and it looked like a monster when it came out. It was so big he barely finished half and had to take the rest home. The waiters weren't very friendly when you asked for extra stuff (i.e. salsa, guac, ketchup) but the service was decently fast. Good place to go if you're hungry! read more

What a bummer! I've had so many great meals at Brandon's. Today was not one of those times. We ordered via DoorDash. The food was ready within the time it was promised. Other than that, I have nothing good to say. The sirloin steak was dry and tough. The club sandwich was soggy, the sandwich was assembled all wrong, the chilaquiles were blah. The beans were the only good thing on that plate. The appetizer? We ordered wings, rings, n things. The wings tasted like they'd been cooked hours prior and just warmed up. The potato skins were sooooo dry they screamed for sour cream or SOMETHING to make them palatable. The onion rings were alright as were the mozzarella sticks but none of this came with any of the sauces you'd think would be included. No marinara, no ranch, nothing. All three entrees were abandoned with over 50% of the food still on the plate. I understand that restaurants are doing their best during these awful times but dang! I could've saved the $63 I spent on four items and had cereal! read more

I love Brandons. I go there every time I come back to visit my parents. It's diner food, plus Mexican, with huge portions, cheap prices and fantastic service. Seriously I could order the entire menu for the same price as one dinner in New York. The breakfast is the way to go... the cinnamon french toast things are amazing - basically a cinnamon roll dipped in egg wash and then fried to delicious perfection. I love Brandon's. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember and I've never had a bad experience. Food is always good, the servers are nice and the portions are HUGE. One meal can easily feed 2 people and you will leave stuffed. The Upland location also has a patio, which is a huge plus in my book. Just a few tips: You can't go wrong with their breakfast any time of day. The best. If you come on the weekend, prepare to wait some time for a table. The place is small and it gets packed. They have really yummy tacos and on Taco Tuesday they're pretty cheap, only downfall is if you're ordering tacos only, you don't get complimentary chips and salsa as you would at most Mexican restaurants.
