Ok so I know today is Easter Sunday, but we were seated way before the rush and our service on food was horrible. My son ordered a eggs and a side of sausage, which he recieved his eggs but his sausage came like 20 mins later when he was done with his eggs my granddaughter ordered kids 1 pancake her plate was the very last after we were all almost finished. Came here on a Sunday around 11am. We were greeted and seated promptly but it took a while for our server to come over to us. He was kind and fairly attentive thereafter. The prices are quite steep, this place is more expensive than Brandon's up the street. A cup of coffee was $4.59 and a hot chocolate over $5! Pretty ridiculous. The kids breakfast meal is $8 - the pancake was huge so that seemed like a fair price but the one slice of French toast didn't match. The chorizo burrito my husband had was mostly hashbrowns. I got the avocado eggs Benedict which was very tasty (but also very expensive at $18 for what it was, especially considering there is no meat in this dish). I got the hollandaise on the side because not everyone does it right and this one was very lumpy. The hashbrowns could have been cooked more and been more crispy. Our food came out quickly and it was pretty good overall, the service was decent, but the prices are high. We won't be back. read more

We decided to revisit Corky's Restaurant after a long time, hoping for some good ol' diner comfort food -- but it ended up being a huge letdown. We ordered three items: * Sirloin Steak Sandwich with steak fries * Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and a cup of soup * Create-Your-Own Omelette The steak sandwich, ordered medium rare, was dry, chewy, and completely lacking in flavor. To make matters worse, the bun was soggy, and the steak fries were stale. The chicken fried steak was just as bad -- bland, rubbery, and forgettable. The mashed potatoes had no depth of flavor, and the soup was practically colored water with no substance. The only halfway decent dish was the omelette -- not great, but hard to mess up eggs. To top it off, the meal was shockingly expensive -- three entrees cost us nearly $70. For a diner-style restaurant, that's just not acceptable, especially when the food is this underwhelming. Delicious food, big servings, amazing service. We sat at the breakfast counter and got to watch orders being brought out. Everything looked delicious. I had the biscuits and gravy with my eggs over easy and they were fluffy. The waitress at the counter was helpful and quick to bring out our drinks and make recommendations. This place serves food drenched in oil, no matter what you order. They could have better food, but like most restaurants in California they don't care. Food is not only supposed to taste good but also nurture the body of the person ordering (no wonder people in Cali are morbidly fat) if the ownership had a little more conciencia they wouldn't be going out of their way to serve food the way they do. There is no need to cook with this much oil. Hopefully the ownership will make the changes. The place is large, well lit and tables are spaced all around. The waiting area is in front of the pies so it is nice to look at. After we were seated April came over to take our order, I ordered from the senior menu, my granddaughter got blueberry pancakes with crispy bacon. My omelette came with BLUEBERRY MUFFIN hot and steamy I melted the butter on there shared it with granddaughter and we were in YUM HEAVEN.... so fresh and full of blueberries that popped in your mouth very airy so glad my guess of secret ingredient was correct. I recommend if given a choice, try one you won't be disappointed. One adult with two kids enters Corky's at upland as kids demanded strawberry lemonade which they love so much. Corky's is a traditional diner and the food tastes great. We order the 2 kids strawberry lemonades, one mimosa with cranberry juice( I like orange juice better it's too sour) . One kids lunch combo consists of Mac & cheese, fries, and small drink of water or milk. We selected water. I ordered banana nuts waffle combo with scrambled eggs and two bacons. Everything tastes great and we finished everything except drinks. Waitress is very friendly and even took photos of us. But it seems they are sharing duties and we didn't get any waters we requested until before we are leaving. Corky's is a traditional diner decor and it is very old fashioned. Kids love it though. The kind that's made right with pie cherries that have that cherry tang not too sweet, not too bitter, but sweet with a little bit of sour to give you that mouthwatering tang.! This review is about a DoorDash order. I ordered the pastrami sandwich on a French roll with extra pastrami. The pastrami was dry, tough and in chopped up little pieces similar to what one would trim away from the larger piece of pastrami while preparing it for serving. The French roll was dry and stale. I paid for extra pastrami but there was very little pastrami. I ordered a side of au jus for dipping. The sandwich could not be saved. As I've stated in the past, it seems that delivery or take out orders are often mediocre at best. I'm sure this restaurant would not have served this meal to a customer dining in. Shame on this restaurant and other restaurants for taking advantage of customers who are not dining in. I didn't contact DoorDash customer support. The last time there was a problem, DD CS said they would not offer any sort of compensation. DD delivered a bottle of juice with the safety seal broken. Happy Holidays! read more

We just had a safety breakfast here and our server Melissa was fantastic! We had a large group of at least 20 people. She was fast to advise she was the only server and only had one cook so they were doing their best. Well service was great on both ends. She was kind fast and went above and beyond to make sure we all had what we ordered in a timely manner. She definitely was the best server we ever had here at this particular restaurant. 12/16/23 This place was recommended by a coworker who takes her granddaughter here frequently. I like that it feels low key, almost like a Polly's Pies. We're seated right away & greeted by Josh, our server, who offered beverages. Against my better judgment, I ordered a coffee (something I vowed NOT to do coz I'm usually disappointed). It was actually good, not the best but it went well with my breakfast. Hubby requested for machaca & eggs with flour tortillas & I got the chile verde omelette with a short stack of pumpkin pancakes. All our food arrived shortly & we dug in. Portions were a good size. My omelette was yummy but I would've liked it to be more tangy. It's fairly large so half is going to be tomorrow's breakfast Hubby liked his machaca but said it's not the best either (okay he has high standards for his machaca & chorizo dishes when he grew up eating it homemade by his tias). The pumpkin pancakes were a soft & fluffy yet a little bit on the dry side. Hubby couldn't resist getting a pie considering it is a bakery after all. Of course he opted for a slice of the banana cream pie-that was delicious. It can't compare to Jongwaard's (Bake & Broil in LB) but it's still a good slice of pie. This is our go-to spot for home-cooked meals in a restaurant setting and you never leave hungry. Marcos was our server on Saturday evening and he was excellent. He kept our drinks filled and was very friendly. I tried the grilled chicken breast dinner and for less than $20 I was given an option of soup or salad, a potato option, vegetables, and an option for a roll or jalapeño cornbread muffin. The piece of chicken was fairly small, but it was placed on a bed of rice (which I did not try due to my dietary restrictions). Was in the area from SF Bay Area to get a tattoo down the street at The Chess Club. Stayed at a local motel so anything within walking distance was a plus, especially since I was traveling alone as a woman. Straightforward, no-nonsense breakfast. I took a seat at the bar and enjoyed the fast-paced, diner banter between the servers and the kitchen.
