I would like to say that the food is amazing. I would go there again. But the service, horrible. We got there before the breakfast crowd. It was empty when we walked in and sat down. We had a party of 7 and thr other 4 were on their way. We told them that before we sat down. Then the horrible service started by Chrissy. Her attitude was rude and off putting. We said we wanted seperate checks and two of us wanted to order now and the others were going to stay longer. Her repsonse. "Didn't they tell you you couldn't be seated until your whole party was here?" No, they didnt, cause we came in when no one was around. So I guess she had a problem with that. When I asked for a cup to go when she got the chance, she said she would be with me in a minute and walked away. If I was rushing her I didn't mean too. This is one of mu favorite places to have breakfast. The service is really good ( even thought some days is not). Its like walking into a place that you know and feel comfortable after being there for some times. I like the Huevos a caballo, chilaquiles and steak and eggs. Coffee is really good to. Took my daughter out for breakfast after a dental visit. We had a waiter by the name of Carlos. He was extremely nice and very attentive! We stopped here for lunch today, the food seemed very average compared to other diners in the same price range. I had the Chile Verde burrito, which seemed a bit below average. My kids had the chorizo burrito, fish and chips, and kids pancake with sausage. I tried all of them, the pancake with sausage seemed to be the best choice. Saturday, around dinner hour, my husband and I headed out to eat at the German Deli, but they were closed...bummer. I remembered from yelp, that Brandon's was near by, so we gave it a shot. The place was nearly empty. I was surprised. Seemed like the reviews said the place was generally packed! Anyway, sat down and looked over the LARGE menu. What to choose! My husband went for the Special....Country Fried Steak w/mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, salad, toasted cheese bread. I ordered the Chile Verde w/rice, beans, chips & salsa. The only real complaint we had was that none of the food was served hot enough. Not sure why....we saw it come to the pass....the waitress picked it up within a minute or two....why wasn't it hot??!! Well, we were hungry so weren't going to make it a big issue. We would probably go back, if in the area...probably for breakfast...which, on the menu at least, looked good. read more

All you can eat shrimp on Thursday! The menu has a good variety of American Food as well as Mexican Food. The Breakfast Menu is long and the portions are strong. The Chilaquiles plate was worth going back for and the Burger with the Santa Fe Chile and cheese was awesome for lunch....I suggest you add bacon. For your basic home diner it also had a nice flat panel T.V. to watch the game on. :) read more

My boyfriend and I went a few times and had nice dinners. then I invited my son and his wife and I was sooooo embarassed that I had them spend their precious free time to eat what i must say is the worst meal that I have ever experienced anywhere. The place is kinda dirty anyhow but we first overlooked that because the staff and food were good. But on this night the service was terrible and the servers were an almost zombie-like bunch. I COULD NOT CHEW my cheese enchilada and it was literally ice cold. Everyone's food was disgusting. My boyfriend ordered some pork dish and the chunks of cold pork were right out of the fridge.Ugh. Customer service is usually great and so is the food, but sadly this location had an unfriendly server on Friday morning when my family and I decided to go for breakfast. Our server was Veronica and it seemed like she was hating life, we didn't ask for much but when we did it seemed as if everything was a drag. This is what you get paid for! This is why I give this place 2 stars, they need better training and perhaps a manager on site. Other two servers who approached our table were super sweet and kind, they need to teach Veronica better. read more

Busy little place, went on taco Tuesday, will go back on different day. I had club sandwich with fries, was very good, would definitely order it again. Love the fries. We also had chips and salsa that was great, lots of chips, looks like they make their own, and were good, salsa/pico de gallo was good, had jalapenos in it but was not too spicy. My husband had some burrito that was huge, took up the entire place, he was happy. My son had a burger and he was happy with that. We also had an appetizer plate with potato skins, wings, mozzarella sticks. Wings looked good, had lots of hot sauce on them so I did not try them, Husband liked them, skins were ok, lots of bacon, but there was alot of potato, it was like eating a baked potato. our server was great, nice friendly, all the food was correct and good, so yea I will be going back, especially for chips and salsa and the fries. Never have I been to this location before, I have been to the one in Fontana and Moreno Valley and the service was exceptional. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about Brandon's here in Upland. The service was mediocre-borderline horrible, and the asada burrito was dry with no flavor what-so-ever. Our waiter had bypassed our meals several times under the food lamps and catered to customers that he felt would be generous with gratuity. I observed his lack of interest in our satisfaction and so this is why I find myself having to share my experience with all of you. I won't be back anytime soon. We waked out this morning 15 minutes after being handed the menu, the reason? no one ever came back, We were no further than 20 feet from the waitress station we could hear the women who handed us our menus how she was able to get 73-76 hours per pay period as she was telling the 3 other waitresses standing there, doing nothing more than gossiping , but we could not get anyone of their attention, so we walked out, as we walked past these 4 waitresses, right past their station, not one of them looked up, they were too busy gossiping, vary rude we will never be back, I wish I had read some of the other reviews, we never would have gone in the first place. We ended up at COCOs down the street that was a better choice, don't waste your time here the waitresses are too busy talking to each other. read more

I have been here 3-4 times before.... they were okay...nothing great to write about.... food was average....so far I have tried....the western omelet, french toast, pancakes, hashbrown, toast and coffee.., Of all those...the hashbrown was great, french toast/pancakes okay....but omelet...too much chees..cheap yellow cheese., the whole omelet tasted bad and cheesy.. Most of time,,service was okay...until the latest one...I asked for cream with coffee...waitress with a Red hairnet was a lazy waitress who brought over bunch of cream in hand and dumped it on the table...wow...no class...she could have atleast put it in a bowl... well that was the start...I knew right away...she was lazy and sure enough...never to be seen again as a helper brought my food over....meanwhile. lazy waitress with red hairnet seemed more interested in gossiping about herself or talking to other workers and a guy....then serving customers... Ok...yeah...she did come over to give bill and started with the nice, nice kiss up hoping for a tip.....Yeah...if shes your waitress...ask to be served by other good waitress that they have....but not her.... There are more breakfast place to try around but good ones are hard to find....still in search BTW....sofar I have tried...flows dinner by chino airport...decent... Redhill cafe....okay but greasy.... Had an extremely rude waiter, didn't catch his name but definitely not a good server, made insulting comments, and overall a bad experience.

Gotta say it, but this place lacks the proper training and respect for their paying customers. No proper greeting, no acknowledgement whatsoever. Rachel was the first person who we encountered. She looked bitter, with personal matters in head and no regard to a customer ready to spend money. We were ready to ignore such disrespect but her rude and negative attitude did not reside but instead it escaladed. I asked for a few more minutes to peruse the menu which seemed to upset her and decided it would be appropriate to roll her eyes at a customer. Rachel definitely needs more training, or perhaps she's in the wrong business. Anyhow, after confronting her she once again resolved to her misconstrued commonsense and walked away from me, ignoring my discontent. However, instead of this review resulting in a one star, I decided to give it an extra star only because the manager and our newly assigned waitress saved our breakfast. The manager, Carlos, seemed sincere enough and was apologetic asking us to resume our visit and offered to discount our bill. Our new waitress was respectful and energetic. Nevertheless, I will never return. There are so many diners in the area, I do not have time to deal with rude women. I live in Hawaii but I recently made a trip to my hometown of Upland to visit family. On my last day in town my brother took me to breakfast at one of his favorite diners, Brandon's. It had the typical coffee shop feel, reasonably well kept but plain and unassuming. It was about 9:00 on a Wednesday morning and the place was pretty full, but we were seated right away. I looked at the menu and saw that they take breakfast very seriously. The kind of hearty American fare that leaves you satisfied, with a full stomach and full arteries. They had a nice variety of made-to-order four egg omelets, pancakes, waffles, all the things you would hope to see at a diner. My brother, who is a very large man, ordered the pork chop and eggs. He didn't leave there hungry, that's for sure, and he said it was excellent. I had the country fried steak and eggs with country gravy, and it was just wonderful. You get your choice of two sides - toast, muffin, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, ham, etc. Service was fairly prompt and my coffee cup never went dry. Prices seemed very reasonable to me (of course, I live in Hawaii, so really it seemed downright cheap.) It was easy to see why Brandon's is my brother's favorite place for breakfast. read more

Every time I come to Brandon's normally I leave very happy and satisfied. For the first time I wasn't happy, I went the other day for lunch with my kids. I orders a grilled chicken salad my chicken was gross. It taste like rubber and the salad was blah.. I wasn't happy at all, the service was really good. I just don't recommend the salad or the kids pizza, my son was also disappointed because the pizza was burnt. Anyways I recommend the breakfast and coffee here. I've always heard of this place and we decided to try it for a nice breakfast out. As a person who works in customer service for a living, I was not impressed one bit. When we walked in the door we weren't even greeted. The hostess finally looked up and just said "how many?" We sat and waited for about 10 mins, not bad. As we were waiting we watched a server wipe down a table that had tip money from the last party still sitting on it. He moves the money from on side of the table to the other and then set the table. We were then motioned to sit at the table he just cleaned. I picked up the money and handed it to him and he just looked at me for a second. I finally put it in his hand and said its not a good idea to leave money on a table when seating a new party. He said nothing and walked away. Our waitress was friendly and attentive which I appreciate greatly. She seemed to be the only one with a smile on her face. Upon leaving, we go up to the register to pay and not a word was spoken through the whole transaction. The lady held her hand out for our bill, she swiped the card, handed us a pen to sign, and then walked away. No "thank you" or "have a nice day"....NOTHING! Who treats their customers like that? Almost as if we are a bother for her to be doing her job. I was not pleased. First impressions are huge and I can say I will not be returning to this location. read more

Wow I am so disappointed in this damn place. I never usually am. I put my name on the list inside. I was outside in the cold and rain waiting to be called (5-10 min). It's just me and my son. We wait and wait. A family of 4 walked in. They put their name in and waited about 6 minutes outside with me. They got called before me. I asked the hostess what happened. I've been here for more than 10 min. She says someone crossed out my name and must have called me. I said I've been sitting outside. You guys normally call names outside as well. She had no words. I said I hope I get sat soon. She said you will. Which I did. I still had to wipe the table down. I'm very disappointed that they had me and my son waiting outside freezing cold and made a mistake. It probably wouldn't bother me so much if it was a nice day out. But I know they didn't call outside because I was there. Put me in a bitter mood. The fact that the young, immature host still sat them before me even after I told her we were here first irritated me. She was unapologetic. Making it seem like it was my fault. I can see her snickering and talking about me to the other hostess. She is why I'm going to the one in rancho for now on. I purposely drive farther than I need to for uplands food.
