We are from out of town and had a chance to do some exploring. We came upon this dive bar because my boys love chicken wings. It is an absolute dive bar in the best way. The ambiance is neon and beer signs. And it was incredible. We had one chicken sandwich, which my kiddo was disappointed in because he didn't realize it was grilled, not fried, but it tasted good. The double basted wings, honey BBQ, and maple vanilla BBQ were all winners and portions fair. Boneless wings are available. The servers were busy, but friendly. We decided to celebrate my son's 50th birthday party at The Brass Pelican. The food is always good and doesn't break the bank especially for such a large group. The service provided by Kristy was outstanding and she took all our banter in good stead. The bartender for our lively group was excellent too. I think he may have been Kristy's husband. Other staff members joined in to make the celebration memorable to include pictures taking and making sure we had everything to make the evening a huge success. read more

Absolutely horrendous. We first came in on a Sunday it was pretty packed, which didn't mind us. But the waiter didn't even mind to take some members of our parties drinks. So we were not to happy. But we had got the cheesy fries and the cheese looked like it was just sitting out, didn't even look like cheese. One of our burgers we asked to be medium but came out burnt. There was also mold in the vents you could see crawling out. Mold even in the bathroom, and the floors were sticky. It has horrible maintenance, and the staff don't even care. We usually came here quite a bit and really like it, but after today that's the last time we will be going here. read more

Service was awful- first it was 15 minutes before we were acknowledged- took drink orders, then it was another 10 minutes before different waitress took order. Three in our party and we got 2 burgers delivered where fries were cold and patty melts warm. Another 20 minutes passed and the brass balls order still not delivered, still waited longer and never came nor could we flag down anybody. Finally had to stand by front entrance to get check and tell them to take off brass balls we never got- husband is a diabetic so worse for him not getting his lunch. Appreciate that woman took my husband's order plus the 3 pops off bill. Could not condone leaving a tip and will definitely never return and telling friends not to go here. read more

Absolutely love all of the food I've had here. From wings, to burgers, to sides and appetizers, all of it. If you are going during busy hours, expect average service at best. We go on Sunday mornings to avoid this and the food more than makes up for any inconveniences I've ever had here. The atmosphere is very pleasant for a bar and is kid friendly. read more

As other reviewers have indicated, the staff definitely caters to their regulars and the bathrooms were pretty nasty. We both ordered wings and they were very overdone to the point where they were chewy like leather. I received all drums (not by choice) and they were very, very dry. Maybe if they included some flats, those would have been edible. On the plus side, the hot honey sauce was good, but I just couldn't enjoy it. The bartender did look at the wings and agreed that they were hard and burnt. She did credit our bill for the wings, which is all I asked. Food is excellent. Service was great. Our server was quite attentive. Atmosphere; I love that the tables are made from the original bowling lanes from when it was Bonnie Lanes. But restrooms are in great need of upgrades. They seemed dirty and rusty. It's a sports bar and the atmosphere reflects that, which is good. My rating would be higher if not for those restrooms. Il never forget the amazing flavour brass pelican wing sauce from when i was homeless and survived by waiting outside restaurants like this one and asking to lick the grease off the customers fingers, occasionally id get to try the fantastic chicken that some patrons couldn't hold down due the generosity of the staff in providing me with a tooth pick for the chunks and of course a straw too i especially recommend the carrots too. shame they don't offer delivery read more

I stopped in for wings and beer. The menu is expansive! There is truly something for everyone. I was pretty set on wings even before I arrived, so I stuck to that. I have heard great things about the burgers and the boneless wings. I ordered the hot garlic parmesan and the bacon bourbon bbq. Both were delicious! I got the spinach artichoke appetizer as well. It was very big, I would recommend for at least 2 people. There is a definite pub atmosphere. The bar area can get loud and exciting, but there's a back room that seems a bit more relaxed. read more

OK here is the update on this place the food was excellent the blackjack burger was awesome and I also got the fish tacos the fish was perch they were huge and very filling probably some of the best fish tacos I've had in a while. I like to support local and have ordered from here many times this last year during Covid.....But almost every time I get very rude service from their staff....just very unpleasant.And when you try to call and place a carryout order they either let the phone ring to where you have to call back 4 other times before they answer or the phone is busy....I understand this is a busy place but the way they are rude is just uncalled for...pretty much done with ordering from there....I know my money not being spent there wont hurt them but there are other choices in town that are just as good and have friendlier staff.. read more

Ordered: 10 Hot Garlic Parmesan Wings, 10 Cajun Wings Ambiance: My friend and I were confused entering this place. We were hoping to just nom on some wings but there didn't appear to be any real dining area. There was a huge area to the right upon entering but it was unlit and empty at 10 on a Sunday? We eventually wandered back to the bar area and sat ourselves after realizing there were no waitresses and the bartenders would just ignore us. Turns out the 2 bartenders were middle-aged moms stressed out trying to run a full bar by themselves. They were very... brusk and off-putting. Word of warning: they sell wings in sets of 5/10/20 with larger batches being cheaper but you can't order 20 and get 4 flavors, you have to pay the price of 4 batches of 5 wings, not a huge deal but annoying nonetheless. Also, the walls were lined with TVs (and sports memoriabilia) but 4 out of 5 of them had a fuzzy picture! Food: As far as wings are concerned, the meat was juicy and tender in the drums but occasionally dry in the wings. The sauces were a touch on the thinner side but decently flavored. I enjoyed the cajun most as it tasted like classic wing sauce and was actually spicy. The hot garlic wings, however, tasted a little bland, neither hot, garlicky or parmesan-y. Between the poor service, confusing layout, and mediocre wings, I was very put-off. I may consider take-out from here but I would probably go to the b-dubs for my wing-fix for now. read more

I wish I could give this place a glowing report ... but that's not possible. There were 3 people in our party tonight. I order french onion soup and a Philly Cheese Steak and fries. The menu said it comes with 10 oz. Of a shaved beef ... well, there was PLENTY of beef ..... but the beef was barely warm in the center of sandwich and the worst part was the beef was dry, dry, dry and even crispy on the edges. Unreal! The french fries were way over cooked and soggy. The french onion soup was one of the worst I've ever had. Bland broth, a huge piece of bread ( looked like the top of a bun) and the cheese was barely melted on top. My soup and sandwich/fries came out together (soup should have been served before ANY food) And my food literally came out 5 minutes after my husband's food. I still can't believe how dried out the beef was. My husband order wings and I have to say they were AWESOME! Big and juicy. He ordered sauce on the side, BBQ sauce and Garlicyaki (garlic butter and teriyaki) . The Garlicyaki looked like plain garlic butter. When we asked our waitress if this was the correct sauce, she looked at it and said 'Yes, YOU need to stir it together!' Guess that's not on the kitchen staff list of things to do before serving the food. The sauce was very good after I mixed it. My BIL ordered one of their many cheese burgers. I rarely if ever order a burger but I so wanted to swap him sandwichs. His burger looked delish! I WILL order one the next time. Yes, I will go back simply to try some of their appetizers. While my husband is in Sandusky working, I came up from Texas to visit Sandusky. The problem we ran into is the town rolls up at night on a Friday around 9:00! We called another restaurant to confirm their hours- sure enough they closed at 9:00, in asking for recommendations- they referred us to Brass Pelican. ATMOSPHERE: It is a true sports bar without the pub style food. The heavy Irish influence is seen not only in decorum, but the menu- NOT a bad thing. Employees and patrons alike give Texas hospitality a run for its money- a warm bunch of people. FOOD SELECTION: There is something for everyone! LITERALLY! - For aWe ordered the Mashed Balls (think loaded baked potato, rolled into a ball with bacon and cheese before being deep fried) I had the Layton Burger- a burger with a buffalo dip, fried pickles and real cheddar cheese-YUM! Way too hard to find a place to sit. The locals are not welcoming to new people. The bar service was slow and whether or not you had to walk up to the bar to order was not made clear. We should have immediately turned around upon entering. The staff was disinterested in anyone coming in other than the regulars sitting at the bar. Not only did they all just stand around and talk but then the menu is ridiculously large and knowing by the looks of this place no way can they spin that out. I could describe the apps we ordered for our party of 6 but it was as bad as described above. Server never came back for refills or to check on us.
