This use to be THE BEST place for prime rib. Untouchable by far. I dont know what happened! Its been not good the last few times we went but ladt night was it. We were done. The spinach dip was like cream of spinach soup on a plate with no cheese and no artichoke.. Theourprime rib came out and it was so dense and dry. Flavorless even though I had au just and my husband had Montreal seasoning ... we were still left trying to gnaw our way through dry flavorless beef. I thought the place was empty because we arrived a little early but it was still pretty vacant when we left. The place is clean and the staff is always a pleasure but the food quality has really taken a turn for the worse. I truly hope they figure out what is happening and fix it.. wether its a supplier issue or a cook issue.. very sad. read more

We were a party of 6 and even though the restaurant was crowded, our table was ready for us when we arrived. Very rustic inside and they had a 3 piece band there for entertainment. A bit noisy, but we were able to enjoy the company Our waitress was very obliging and she understood we wanted time to review the menu. We haven't been there in about 40 years. We started out with top shelf drinks and 2 appetizers: fried zucchini sticks and calamari. Both were served hot and very tasty. Being they are known for their prime rib, 5 of us had the rib and one had a succulent burger with all the trimmings. We all shared 2 desserts, Tartuffo. Perfect ending to a perfect dinner. The prime rib is the best around loved going there, but they have and still do, servers who have attitudes. I hadn't gone in for 5 years decided to stop in and got my prime rib. However the server Lisa had such an attitude that I said to my friends I am so done going there. Steve the owner is a nice guy and so are his sons, but he needs to hire servers who are friendly and smile more instead of giving customers dirty looks. Very sad Steve no I brought many people there brought him in business, but I'm not doing it anymore until they get rid of some of those people in there they're gonna lose business. This was my first time here but my sister and her family have been coming here for a long time with their family. From the moment we drove into their parking lot I knew this place was going to be busy and when we went inside the place was beyond packed. It's a large space with a large full bar that was completely full. They had TVs around the bar and restaurant. This place was very lively and loud. They offer live entertainment. They were setting up when we came in. We came with a large group but we really didn't have to wait long. My sister told me they were known for their prime rib dinners so that is what I ordered. Brass rail charges $2 for a small side of wing sauce? Buyer beware!!! It's not even written on the menu by the wing section either. We only added the 1 extra sauce it wasn't like we asked for a bunch. Your waitress didn't even mention the extra fee either when ordering to inform us. The funny thing is.. as you can see from photo you can get a side salad with a meal for the same exact price... If you turn the tables around does That even seem to make sense to a customer? .50 maybe for the extra sauce.. but $2???? We even Talked to the waitress about it how confused we were being charged since we weren't informed. She didn't seem tocare much. So, guess what? We took it off her tip. Def was (her job) to inform and also what a massive up charge on brass rails side too... especially not even listing it on the menu... that's where that's very deceiving to your patrons. Let me start by saying this brass rail is not in any way related to the brass rail in Hoboken . I know it's Sunday and the weather today is not really that great , but I honestly expected someone to greet us when we walked in instead of us having to look for someone . Food : my boyfriend had the burger with sweet potato fries and it was ok ... I had shrimp quesadillas and I must say I wasn't that impressed :( very blend and served cold . Food quality and service in no way at all compared to Hoboken . You can actually tell they are NOT related . The lady helping us didn't even know which IPA beer was stronger . The one thing I found mesmerizing was the fish thanks .. that was the most exciting part of my visit . They could certainly use some progress . The wait staff was fabulous as well they were right there checking on you, filling your glass, water and non alcoholic beverages. My girlfriend took me to brass rail for dinner after I told her I wanted something laid back, fun, but also had good food. The ambiance was exactly what I was looking for with a nice hometown bar type experience with excellent food. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were crispy and the cheese was nice and melty and the marinara to dip was exactly what I had hoped. The prime rib was very juicy cooked medium rare how I ordered it and the garlic mashed was also very good. The waiter was very cool and came over not too often or too little which is super rare these days. The atmosphere reminds me of a "local joint that everyone in the neighborhood goes to." Our waitress said it was recently renovated, but the interior still feels outdated and definitely gives a historic vibe. As for the food, I highly recommend sticking with the steak dishes. The ribeye and new york strip were both very good (and surprisingly inexpensive). Very thick cuts and cooked exactly as requested. Our entrees came with a soup/salad. We all opted for the cream of mushroom soup of the day-- delicious, hearty, and huge! I wouldn't recommend the crab cake entree as it tasted quite fishy. Wanted so badly to give this place 5 stars! Two reasons I did not. First, I ordered the Crab Cake BLT & it wasn't the greatest. I was expecting a delicious crab cake since it was labeled green on their menu (green font means their most popular dishes). It was better tasting with tarter sauce. I did eat half so it wasn't the worst. Dessert was a volcano chocolate cake with ice cream. I expected oozing chocolate or something resembling a volcano & nothing. It was just a piece of chocolate cake. Second reason, is that they sat us at a table where the door was open so a constant draft kept hitting us. At my table was my 7 week old, 6 year old, my husband & myself. I immediately asked the waitress that if the door had to be open, please move us to a different table. She promptly closed the door. A few minutes later the door was cracked open letting in a small draft but still a draft. We were asked if it was ok they left the door open for a few minutes & of course we said it was ok - they did say just a few minutes. Well, the door was open until we left. The door was open when our food came which was annoying cause I couldn't eat right away as I was feeding my infant so it just sat there until I was ready to eat. - Not cool. In their defense we were asked a couple times if the cracked door was ok & my husband (too nice of a guy) said it was fIne. It was also about 45 degrees outside which is on the warmer side for 8pm. On the plus side: (1) We only waited about 10min on a Sat night to be seated. (2) The place was cozy (until they opened the door). (3) Our waitress was the sweetest. (4) The fried ravioli special was good & the beers were cold! Regardless of the constant draft during our dinner I will be back to try something new off the menu. It's definitely a kid friendly restaurant & the staff seemed nice. My husband loved his steak sandwich which is what I might try next & my daughter enjoyed her chicken tenders & fries. Six of us ate at the Brass Rail Saturday evening December 3, q2022. Food was good and service was Ok, but the entertainment on this Saturday night during dinner hour was, shall we say, less than good. Apparently the gentleman performing is a regular customer with a following who hang out at the bar and once in a while requests a set from the owner. The so called entertainment is loud and in my opinion, not suited for dinner music, however, the friends at the bar seem to appreciate the music, possibly because they are somewhat inebriated, but in any case it brings in the Benjamin's for the owner. Due to the song choices and loudness of the music, we were unable to have a conversation and the music selection and performance was less than desirable. We will definitely return, but not when this entertainer is performing. read more

We always feel like we are at "Cheers" where everyone knows our names. We have made some good friends there. They also have live entertainment, on Friday & Saturday nights, usually with people playing acoustic instruments and singing. Everyone from the Host, who for the most part is the Part Owner, Steve, who will welcome you in, the wait staff, who have treated my husband and I like we're their parents, are the best, the bartending staff, never forgets your favorite drink, and refers to you by name. Looking for a place to go for a burger figured I'd try this place out. I ordered a bacon blue burger medium rare. Specifically asked to the server if the burgers were hand made or frozen he said hand made. I was exited until it came to the table. I honestly think they went to a nearby Burger King and plated it to serve to me. The burger was over cooked and dry on an oversized bun. The fries were coated with the same coating they use at Burger King. What a waste of time , money and atmosphere. My wife got the chicken parm which was just as bad. It had a thick blanket of the worst mozzarella money could buy. I guess it's a good thing they have a bar because you definitely need to be drunk to stomach the food. read more

This place is the place if you want Prime Rib. Firstly, it's cooked to perfection (have been twice) and I highly recommend the Cajun which is not too salty. Really fantastic. In addition, I got to meet the owner and his son and the fabulous bartender. We discussed all things including politics, and despite our opposing views, we laughed and had a great chat. For an appetizer I had the onion soup which was above average which I did expect considering this place is known for the prime rib . I did order the queen cut prime rib which was reheated from last night. Understand it was lunch so if it was too early for a recently cooked rib don't offer it . I also ordered sautéed spinach which was fishy , I'm familiar with using anchovies to bring a bit of depth to a dish but do it correctly it shouldn't be the most prominent in the flavor profile . read more

I came here on a Sunday to enjoy a birthday brunch with my family and had a great experience. All the food was delicious, (the pernil tostada is a must have!) and the mimosa pitcher was a great deal for the table. Our waitress was very friendly and did a great job checking in with us during our meal and making sure we had everything we needed. If I could give zero stars I would. This review has nothing to do with the service because the waitress was phenomenal. The food was horrible. My husband had the prime rib. There was so much fat and bone that at least 4 ounces of it was inedible. I made a big mistake by ordering the seafood and chicken scampi pasta . It tasted like Jello. It was cold and mushy like it was laying in pasta water for hours. The Scampi sauce was brown and looked more like gravy. Absolutely horrible.
