I came here to celebrate a birthday. It was quiet when we arrived at 6pm, but got livelier later in the evening. The decor is clean and elegant. Some sections of the restaurant require walking up small sets of stairs, so they may not be accessible for all. Our table had couch seating on one side and was comfortable, but the table itself was a tiny bit small when accommodating a bunch of plates and glasses. To drink, I had the pomegranate martini. It was quite strong, fruity, and not overly sweet. My husband had the bees knees. It was juicy and flavorful. To start, we had a salad from the specials menu. It included mandarins, kiwi, goat cheese, almonds, and arugula. It was a large portion size and crisp and refreshing. We also had the spinach artichoke dip, which was rich and tasted very fresh. For my main, I had the penne. I loved the tomato cream sauce. I also got a side of onion rings. They were shoestring style, which I wasn't expecting, but they were piping hot and very tasty. My husband enjoyed his steak, but one should note that the dish is literally just steak, so you need to order sides separately if you want any accompaniments. For dessert, we had the lemon tart. It was lovely, especially with the accompanying berries. Our waiter was excellent. The only negative was that I asked for a special dessert and candle for my husband's birthday and they completely forgot. I even called earlier in the day to confirm they would be able to do it. So that was a slight disappointment, but otherwise it was a great meal. read more

My partner and I ordered delivery recently to celebrate an anniversary at home. It's definitely nice to have such a nice meal delivered! The oysters were a little variable in size, but they were good. My almond-crust sole was good but could have been a little lighter on the almond. The filet mignon was good, though we cooked it a little longer at home. (It was cooked well, but the personal preference was a little more cooked.) I enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake ($12) too! What I love about Westchester is that you don't have to leave town to get an amazing meal at a gorgeous place. This French-inspired spot has a full bar and amazing food. I had the Onion soup and the Mussels Mariniere. Both were delicious. I am not usually fond of the white sauce over the red when it comes to mussels but this was probably the best mussels I have had. It was perfectly seasoned and not too "fishy" as it sometimes gets. Finished it with a mimosa and a double espresso. And ready to go. Highly recommend. read more

I tried this restaurant during restaurant week for the first time. It's a bright and clean open space. For starters, I had a house salad and then I ordered the Le Steak burger medium rare. My friend ordered a Croque madame. My house salad came and looked quite naked. There was nothing on it but lettuce. No tomato, No carrot, no nothing. Hmmm... It was ok, just bland. I hoped that the entrées that arrived we're better. My burger was excellent, with crispy bacon and a nice onion jam, perfectly done. The Croque madame was also delicious and executed well. The service was OK, a couple of mistakes were made, with the food, but then remedied. It would be nice to have a wine list when you ask for one, instead of having the waitress recite what they have. We wanted to see pricing and determine if it was better to get a bottle or have it by the glass. read more

Pros: We started with the scallops over mushrooms and the mushroom ravioli, both excellent. My girlfriend really enjoyed the beef bourguignon, and my bone-in ribeye was cooked exactly as requested. The wine list also had a great selection. Cons: From the start, the experience felt rushed. We were asked for drink orders within two minutes of being seated but were never given a cocktail menu. Bread arrived soon after, but I didn't receive cutlery for about twenty minutes, even though the host had pointed out the missing place setting. The utensils were only brought out when the appetizers arrived, after following up twice. When we ordered a bottle of wine, it was placed in the middle of the table instead of in a stand, crowding the space and forcing us to lean around it. We asked for a wine bucket with a stand, and it took another fifteen minutes for it to arrive, leaving the table cluttered in the meantime. For the entrée, my girlfriend asked to substitute the mashed potatoes for plain spaghetti with her beef bourguignon. We were told this wasn't an option -- even though we were willing to pay extra -- which felt unnecessarily inflexible. My ribeye, while cooked well, was an extremely fatty cut and felt more like a bottom-shelf choice than what I'd expect from a restaurant with "steak" in the name, especially so early in the evening. Our server also never checked in to ask how the food was at any point during the meal. Throughout the night, the manager visited nearly every other table but never came by ours -- even after we ordered a bottle of wine and the second most expensive entrée. Many of the tables receiving attention appeared to be older guests. We're a younger couple, but we were dressed to impress for plans afterward and certainly did not look out of place, especially considering several guests were in jeans. The lack of acknowledgment made us feel overlooked. While the food was very good, the attentiveness and hospitality did not match the experience. After spending around $300 on the meal, I don't feel the level of service we received reflected that price. read more

We're usually on the hunt for a French restaurant so when Brasserie Le Steak opened in Larchmont in '22, I bookmarked it for a special occasion. Plus, it seems like it's been popular so far for a fine dining option. Even with their lovely and large space- Le Steak has an intimate vibe and those tell-tale brasserie yellow walls. The menu is comprised of mussels marinière, onion soup gratinèe, chicken Provençale and of course, as their name indicates, steak. We started with an arugula+Bleu cheese+walnut salad with a simple balsamic and oil dressing- without mustard the way I wanted it. My Rosé was refreshing and hubs liked his Cosmo. Our server Rich, was charismatic and knew how to work the floor with a good lingo (maybe a bit too much) and made sure he tackled all his tables and greeted folks. I swear, during the time we ordered our appetizers and main plates, he divulged his upbringing in Larchmont. Bare minimum greeting and taking orders, shouldn't take so long. I'm not sure if it's the sign of the times or just human error but while our escargots were tender, these weren't the classic French recipe I'm used to having at other restaurants. To add, these weren't even packed with flavor or satisfying. These, missed that perfect amount of parsley+garlic+butter left on each of the holes and what we actually got was JUST the butterfat- without the parsley and garlic. And this is a "French" restaurant¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ? Hubs' medium Rib Eye wasn't temped as he requested it and had a lot of gristle. The sautéed Portobello+ Spinach in my Halibut dinner, actually tasted better than the fish. Even though the fish was meaty- it was dry. While this place has a nice ranking, there are folks who feel food here, is lacking. I so wanted to love this place. And who knows- I might stop by....some other time- but Brasserie Le Steak, isn't quality steak or otherwise. read more

One of my favorite places to go in the winter time their French onion soup is immaculate along with their steak friets not too salty, but not too well done either. It's perfect every time along with the french fries nice thin crunchy never soggy. Service is always super fast. The staff is always nice. The interior of the restaurant is super cozy. This is a true story. I wanted to cook some type of crusted fish on a Saturday night. My kids and wife were away and I had the kitchen for myself--this is when I usually test new recipes. A crusted fish was going to be it-- I was considering fixing a San Sebastián style Almond crusted seabass or any fish, whatever would draw my attention at the market, with a pistachio crust. I went for a run before going to the supermarket, when I got a push notification from Yelp about this new restaurant in town. I checked the menu and to my surprise there it was-- a potato crusted cod fish with mushrooms, string beans, and beurre blanc. Since the goal for the night was crusted fish, a potato crusted fish sounded quite unique and worth trying. I ditched my goal of going grocery shopping and I couple hours later I was sitting at Brasserie Le Steak (I knew I would have a lot of explaining to do as my wife was dying to get to know this place... I had to try it first before exposing her to food that may not be of her stature, was my excuse). Oh, on top to the fish, I saw that they had frog legs!! I haven't seen frog legs on the menu of a restaurant in America for quite some time, so I had to do it. Service was polite and professional but nothing extraordinary. The frog's legs Provençale with garlic, wine, w toasted baguette w tomato fondue was very good. I do prefer how my dad used to cook them in Brazil after a night of frog hunting--fried with lime, salt and paper. But still, the legs were nicely browned and were very well executed. The cod was a different story. By the picture you can see that it is an engineering masterpiece. The potato crust was crispy and golden brown, the string beans were aldente, and the sauce very special. This is probably the first time I ate string beans in the way they are supposed to be cooked. I lie--Little Village in Honolulu does a killer string beans. Everything in this dish worked. My only criticism is that I would have liked to have more of the sauce. And below is the framework I use to rate all restaurants: - Does the food tickle the brain? Absolutely. The cod was beautiful just to look at. The sauces and garnishes all worked together. - Did I learn something new (I love to cook, did I learn something I would want to replicate at home?)? Absolutely with capital A. I am still trying to figure out how they achieved that potato crust. I asked many questions to learn more about it from my server but left with no answers. Can't wait to try it at home and fail many times. - Is the food beyond my skill level? The frog legs and the garnishes yea, the potato crust, absolutely not. Like I said above, dying to try and fail many times. - Does the food make me happy? Yes!! It was a great gastronomic experience! read more

Our waitress was rude and non-attentive, which was weird since there were only a few tables, and, sorry to say, looked like she hadn't showered in a week. While we were having our dinner, the owner came over to say hello, which was nice, but then went to speak to a woman at the bar and after a few moments and for seemingly no reason, starting yelling at her! I have been a fan since their Manhatan days, so I decided to visit them in Larchmont. I'm glad to say that I enjoyed it even more at their new location. Le Steak hits all the points, convenient parking in the back, nice outdoor seating, very moderate prices and very good food. We had frogs legs, mushroom ravioli, pan roasted chicken breast and linguinne with rock shrimp. Everything was done to perfection , we enjoyed every bite and every minute of being there. read more

This has quickly become one of the best steakhouses in Westchester! Nick and his entire staff are incredible, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere alongside dynamite steaks. Every steak is always cooked to absolute perfection, crispy and flavorful on the outside and perfectly pink on the inside. They also have a fantastic private party room in the back. We recently hosted a party for about 25 people and this room was absolutely what we needed. I highly recommend a visit to this lovely steakhouse in downtown Larchmont. read more

Everything was delicious. Our server, Richard, was great and extremely attentive. Someone other than our waiter, who I presume to be the owner, also stopped by our table many times to make sure all was good. We ended up getting the fresh buratta special (we were told that even if this is not a special that day, if you call a day or two in advance, they will make this for you) and shrimp st. tropez. They are having obvious staffing problems which led to an unpleasant dining experience. We had dinner on a weeknight, and the place was maybe half full. While the food was good, almost 3 1/2 hours for a meal is just too much. We had a variety of waiters. Richard introduced himself as our waiter, but then disappeared to work the outside tables. The waitress who took over was also the bartender. We had to get up from the table three times and ask for a waiter to take our order, bring bread, and inquire about where our dinner was. Friendly, funny, super patient and accommodating. Our group was quite indecisive with our order cause everything sounded so good and they guided us through the menu. MENU HIGHLIGHTS Appetizers - Onion Soup and Goat Cheese Tarlet (thank me later) Entrees - Steak w/ Pommes Frites, Linguini w/ Shrimp and Wild Mushroom Ravioli (I don't even like mushrooms but I absolutely went in for seconds ... and thirds ... and then licked the plate clean) Dessert - Everything. My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner last week on recommendation from the February Issue of Westchester magazine's article featuring the "Top New Restaurants in Westchester". The escargots featured in the magazine photo and description surpassed expectations. One doesn't see this delicacy on many menus. The Entree Menu is varied with many options in addition to steak. The pork chop with plum chardonnay sauce was spectacular. Ambiance and Service was outstanding. Thank you to Richard who provided attentive service, solid menu recommendations and funny moments. I was looking for a French restaurant in Westchester County, and after reading a review posted by Mark K., a fellow yelper and friend, I knew I had to go to Brasserie Le Steak. Mark's rare 5 star review was right on target. We had a reservation for 5pm. Walking into the restaurant you are warmly greeted, and promptly seated. It's a beautiful restaurant, everything is classy and meticulous and it smells delicious...with lovely scents of cooking wafting through the air. A waitress came in minutes, and took out drink orders. The dirty martini and whiskey sour were great. We had onion soup for an appetizer and it was really very good. I ordered Beef Bourgogne which was one of the specials, and my daughter had the Porter House steak. Both were excellent. For dessert we had a lemon tart and chocolate mousse and cappuccinos. A perfect ending to a perfect dinner. We were so happy we have reservations to return next week. This is, by far, the most exquisite French restaurant in Westchester. read more
