An incredible dining experience all around. The food, drinks, atmosphere and service were all amazing. Went here to celebrate our engagement and it was the perfect place to do so. A very romantic interior and the best meal in all of Bar Harbor. Definitely recommend adding to your trip itinerary!

Beautiful ambiance, beautiful service, lovely food. We had an amazing time here and the girl at the front desk shared a lot of the history of the original building before they made it into the restaurant. Meal and wine list was great and the portion sizes were amazing.

My mom and I decided to dine here for dinner on our first night in Maine and were very happy with everything we had to eat. Our server, Charli, was outgoing, polite and had a lot of knowledge on the food items. She recommended the oysters that are locally harvested and these were by far the best oysters I've ever had. I eat a lot of oysters living in South Florida, but these were so fresh and perfectly salty from the ocean water. The apple mignonette that comes with them is sooo delicious and pairs sooo nicely with the briney taste of the oysters. We also had their version of a french onion soup, onion soup gratinee, and it's like an elevated version of the classic. It has more of a tomato-ish broth in my opinion, but was absolutely delicious. It was really hard to pick a main course because we wanted to try everything off the menu, but we went with the mushroom gnocchi and scallops panzanella. Again, DELICIOUS. I loved how thinly sliced the mushrooms were because they incorporated so well with the gnocchi and sauce. The scallops were perfectly cooked and paired nicely with the fresh, lightly cooked vegetables. Overall, our experience was lovely for our first night in town and would definitely visit again!

We were in Bar Harbor for 5 days. We ate at different places everyday. We stumbled on Brasserie Lebrun and my girlfriend wanted to try it. We went in with no reservations and they sat us at the communal table. We had a bone marrow app that was outstanding. Then for the main course she had the lobster tail stuffed with crab and I had an amazing fish dish. We both agreed that it was the best restaurant we went to there. Everything was cooked perfectly, presentation was perfect and the staff was really nice. We both loved the atmosphere, music wasn't too loud and was classy but still casual. I would definitely tell anyone who goes to Bar Harbor to go there for dinner. Pricing was comparable to every other place in town but the quality was way above!

Been awhile since we've had food this great! was one quote of the evening. Nothing was a disappointment. So delicious!!

My wife and I went for dinner during our first anniversary week. We are so glad we did! The food was absolutely amazing. I got the lobster bisque as my appetizer, and as a chowder/bisque snob, I can say it was hands down one of the best I had this summer. My wife had the seasonal salad, which had watermelon, feta, and avocado, and she absolutely loved that as well. Our entrees were even better. They had my favorite steak preparation, au poivre, and it was up there with one of the best steaks I ever had. My wife, a vegetarian, got the mushroom gnocchi, and she loved that too, and since I got to finish it, I can vouch for it as well. On top of the amazing food, the service was exemplary. Our waiter, Mark, was attentive, kind, funny, knowledgeable, and pointed us in the right direction for our choices whenever we needed assistance, especially when we couldn't decide on dessert. Can't recommend him enough. Can't wait to go back!

We were with daughter and son in law and 1 year old grandson and it was my birthday and we were thinking carryouts but they didn't offer them when we called, so we took an early dinner reservation. They seated us promptly even though we showed 10 minutes early. Very well staffed and professionally staffed. Bartender was very pleasant as I was scoping it out. Decent wine list from reasonably priced to expensive. Since we had a 1 year old, we hurried process and still got excellent service and excellent food. If you want a top notch meal and have eaten enough lobster rolls, and can't go to Rosalie's for a good cheap pizza again, this was by far the best meal we ate in Bar Harbor and my daughter thought it was the best steak frites she had ever had.

Great food and presentation! Tastes delicious and we had a nice relaxing dinner on the holiday!

The restaurant is just gorgeous with the navy and gold. You just know you are in for a beautiful experience. The food was just impeccable. The drinks were perfect. The service very good. You could tell the restaurant staff knew the menu and were just as excited for you to have it. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely be back!!!!

We weren't able to get a reservation last minute so we took our luck with getting seats at their small bar. (Side note - we accidentally sat down at the bar at the more casual place next door before we realized we were at the wrong place!) The bar seats were very comfortable and we enjoyed dining there - there were 2 musicians playing guitars throughout the whole meal. I must commend the bartender for her amazing service throughout the night. Despite how busy it was, she was on top of things - even remembering to remind the host to turn on the overhead music as soon as the guitar players took a break. To start, we shared the tostada - very tasty, large portion of brisket & the mango pico very good. For our mains, I had the lobster moqueca and my husband had the filet. My entrée was delicious. The broth was so tasty with large chunks of lobster. My husband's steak entree was so-so - it came out medium rare despite asking for medium. He didn't really like the potatoes on the side either. Since my husband doesn't eat fish, there weren't a ton of entrée options for him. We still really enjoyed our meal and had no room for dessert. The meal was on the pricier side since we also had a couple rounds of cocktails but it was worth it. We liked the atmosphere and being in the action at the bar.

White table cloth service. Servers were all excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. This place has the best fine dining experience in the mid-coast. Food was outstanding- every course. I did find the printed à la carte and dessert menus odd as they list the dishes' main ingredients but lack any preparation detail. So we found ourselves having to ask about several dishes before being able to make a selection. Maybe it is on purpose but it made me a bit uncomfortable to keep asking about preparation of the dishes throughout the courses. The only real negative for us is the same negative we had 10 years ago. We were seated in the porch area and I suspect they fill this area first as it has wonderful views of the Camden Hills. Both times we have been seated in there, there have been loud, fairly obnoxious diners (#-bombs flying this last visit) in the room with us. Complete turn off but nothing the restaurant can do about it. We will try Natalie's again but will forgo the porch dining for another room.

I had a Black Manhattan cocktail, supposedly differing from an ordinary Manhattan by use of a different kind of bitters (Amaro) and "filthy cherries." These seemed like basic good quality maraschinos to me (3); nothing "filthy" about them. Nevertheless it was good, fruity, and ample strength. The appetizer selection was small and heavy on bread-based items. (No free table bread was available - grrrr.) Most didn't appeal but the Roasted Garlic did, served with bread (2 kinds: a toasted crostini and a fresh crusty sourdough). The garlic was a whole head, sliced open for easy access and presented on a very hot plate, sweet and mellow from long slow roasting, and served with a choice of cheeses (molten blue, brie, whipped feta, or chèvre) - I chose chèvre and it was very good and a generous portion. A very simple dish not often encountered in restaurants. In retrospect this was the best part of the meal. I felt a little rushed at times and impatient at other times. It took a very long time to get the appetizer so I had nothing to dilute the effects of the strong cocktail. But then more than once I was asked about my entree before I was ready; once when ordering the appetizer and another time soon after I received it and hadn't made up my mind yet. I held my ground and told them I wasn't quite ready, and they accepted that and I took my time eating. There was an eclectic selection of wines by the glass. I had an interesting rosé from Slovenia. My entree was a roasted fish filet (halibut I think? It's no longer listed on the menu) served over a tomato-based sauce. This sauce was richly scented and complex and the plate was attractively garnished with micro greens. But the fish was on the small side and the flavor was monotonous - no discernible browning on the top. The other component, probably an herby cucumber-yogurt sauce resembling raita, which should have been a cool complement to the hot tomato broth, instead was melting unattractively and dispersing into it. Perhaps most disappointing, there was nothing else to this dish. It needed a starch or something (rice, boiled potatoes, or even more of those very good breads from the appetizer - wish I had saved some.) So it's good I got the appetizer first, or I would have left rather hungry. Desserts were also very limited and most didn't appeal. I decided on the Clafouti, which is a baked tart, thicker and heavier than flan, with fruit (black cherries) It was way too hot, didn't have enough fruit, and ice cream would be a far better choice than the amorphous blob of whipped cream it was served with. I should have skipped dessert. It was so boring. As for ambience: it's a crowded, noisy place but in a pleasing way. Very small, and I had reserved one of the 6 seats at the bar (I was dining solo). It's whimsically decorated, like with the grape-covered nude statue holding a candle. There was attractive artwork on the walls, some of which I believe was for sale. I did detect smoky odors coming from the kitchen that other reviewers have noted but I consider that a positive thing, not a negative. So come here if you wish. Check it out and form your own opinion. As for me, I wasn't sufficiently impressed and wouldn't return.
