    Bucatini pasta

We are so happy we went to Siren and Sailor. We were greeted with a smile and sat down right away. Our waitress was excellent and the ambiance was great. Everyone looked happy to be working there. Our food was delicious. We ordered the crab hush puppies for an appetizer and the Bucatini pasta dish and Chicken sandwich. The pasta had a seafood bolognese and fresh pasta made in house and it was fantastic. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely go back.

We showed up on a Saturday at 5 o'clock end of August and got right in at Annex which is the same menu and attached. Waiters were helpful and kind, amazing people! Live music was going on at 7 but we left right before, awesome vibes doors to the outside open so it was basically an open air concept since it was a beautiful day. Clam chowder: super delicious and passed the spoon test! (I like my chowders thick so a spoon should float on top) Bangin Shrimp: seasoning and sauce were bangin! Great stuff and the buttery grilled flamed pita added a beautiful touch Cadillac fries: crispy fries with melty cheese, hot sauce, bbq sauce, chipotle mayo and toooed with bacon. We inhaled these. Mac + rac: fall off the bone rips and the Mac was killer. Mixed in with street corn added a great change up and all went so well together. Larger shells cooked perfectly and super cheesy, this was a great dish. Highly recommend, wish I could have tried the Blueberry Pie because that looks insane, was way too full after crushing the other dishes and washed down with a blueberry beer and an extra dirty martini!

However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.

Needless to say, we found ourselves at the Chart Room on more than one occasion. Happy hour on the pier is a must do. The view coupled with half price drinks and apps can't be beat. We always meet great people who are visiting just like us. One evening we had dinner there as well. My wife had the Baked Stuffed Haddock, and I had the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Large portions, excellent presentation and at a price I expect to pay at a five-star restaurant on the coast of Maine. What I feel is the highlight of our experience at the Chart Room was the staff. Everything started with James the General Manager and Jamie, the Booking Manager. We appreciate all their help before we even arrived there. There were several members of the wait staff that were amazing as well. Some that we've seen each season when we visit. Chris, Presley, Val, Miranda and Lexi are just a few of them. Our bartender Jamie was equally amazing. Ellen enjoyed a couple unique drinks that Jamie had added a small twist to. This is an awesome restaurant that you need to visit when you are in the area. We are already looking forward to our visit next summer

The drink order was taken first as the family looked over the food menu further. Lots of blueberry themed drinks to fit the Maine theme. I had the Grapefruit & Rosemary Spritz. I liked it, it was a tad too bitter for me. Grapefruit and lime juice together will do that. My brother had the Alfredo dish. He is not a fan of seafood in the slightest. His portion was HUGE. It was a dish that could have been split, instead he had leftovers for a different day. My parents stuck to their goal of having as much Maine Lobster as they could. The lazy lobster option is always appreciated by vacation goers. I went with the halibut. I really like halibut and this was my favorite halibut filet I've had. The carrots were also bigger than most carrots I have had in my life. The fries were an awesome complementary side. I ate everything on my plate and enjoyed every second of the food coma I was in the rest of the night. Our waitress was attentive to our dietary needs. She was very passionate and informative about the seafood offerings. The halibut I had was from the Maine waters, which is a rarer due to the limited time US fishermen can get halibut. Glad I got some! If you have the opportunity to have the halibut, go for it! Awesome spot. I appreciate the gluten free options and the mocktails. The mocktail was the least favorite part of my meal. Hood but more bitter than I anticipated. Overall, amazing. Food, ambience and service. All of it!

Now if you are in search of seafood and/or lobster during a visit to Bar Harbor you could throw a stone in any direction and find numerous options. Some family recommended checking out this spot. Both my wife and I started out with a blueberry margarita that was fantastic. Then for food we both decided on the lobster tacos which comes with an order of two. They did not skimp on the lobster at all and this spot created such a tasty taco I would return for them. Granted the appetizer of a lobster poutine sounded delicious too! The ambiance and overall vibes is good, outside they have many picnic tables to enjoy the sights/sounds of Bar Harbor. Inside they have a couple different areas but a welcoming atmosphere overall. Despite the heat and the fact Bar Harbor is busy during the summer, service was quick as well as friendly. Had no complaints for our visit! Great first visit here!

We did get food to go, but our hotel was just steps away. So not a long journey from the restaurant to our room. We ordered the lobster nachos. It was not edible and they were so expensive. I was looking forward to getting some lobster, but didn't want a lobster roll and thought this would do it. First of all-- everything was mush. Not even soggy, but like all mush and disintegrated. I can deal with soggy-- it's take out so I don't have high expectations for fresh food. But the chips literally dissolved. There was also no cheese? I don't understand how you can have nachos with no cheese. Also, was advertised with sour cream and there was no sour cream. Lastly, I had lobster earlier today at a different restaurant. It tasted so fresh. This lobster was different. Almost like it was bad or even like a little gamey. I didn't eat but that one piece because I'm afraid I might get food poisoning-- something was just off. I'm not very hard to please and will eat pretty much anything from anywhere. The fact that I wouldn't eat the food (especially after paying $32) says a lot. I literally told my husband I would've rather had McDonald's Giving 2 stars only bc the guy on the phone who took our order was super nice.
