    Beer and rooster kinda day!
    Sasha M.

This place is amazing! I NEVER had a bad experience nor the food! Service is always kind and the outside courtyard with live music gives all the New Orleans vibes. Even the rooster came to say hi! It's a must if you want some German food and beer in your belly!! Then go walk it off in Crescent park! lol

This was a fun little nook tucked away in NOLA. They have a large Biergarten which is really nice and feels like an oasis in the middle of the city. My group went on a Tuesday which is when they have trivia. Unfortunately a storm came down and everyone had to move inside. Inside is super small and I don't believe they have AC so it was super swampy. The food is fine if you like German food. I ordered the döner and it was super weird. It came on a hamburger bun. It was tasty and had a little kick to it. Ordering food was a hassle. We waited in line for a while before being told they were taking a ten minute break for food orders so we could only get drinks. They have a decent selection of drinks, particularly German beers and they come in large sized glasses. Overall a decent time. I would like to go back when it's not as busy and see if it's a more streamlined process.

I checked this place out for their opening weekend and over the years it has turned into a nice spot to enjoy a German style beer garden. They have expanded the menu some to offer more interesting items and really do a nice menu during Oktoberfest time. I am disappointed they don't offer veal or venison schnitzel. They have some appetizer snacks like pretzels and such and usually have a small but decent dessert menu. Overall this is a good addition to the neighborhood but I still really hope they expand the schnitzel offerings and maybe keep some of the expanded Oktoberfest menu offerings as part of their full time menu. My video review of Bratz Y'all is here: https://youtu.be/1tlUNTnM7l4 *Update: they have added chicken schnitzel.

Staying in the quarter with a 2hr flight delay, we decided to hoof it over, with a fairly straight & level shot along the water & it took about 40min. We stepped through a gate where menus were posted, in what feels kind of like an industrial site or garage/repair shop. We walked through the biergarten to the main building, which has the typical dive bar appearance. We were greeted by the unmistakable aroma of red cabbage... Since we were mainly killing time, we opted to split a King Brat & a Salted Pretzel ($3 happy hour) with Horseradish Dip & 2 half pints ($5 happy hour). I believe that this was our best bang for the buck purchase while in NOLA. I tried to come up with something that I feel needed improving and I'm drawing a blank. We were shown menus on walking up (but has already decided at the gate), the tap options were ran through verbally and staff offered to answer any questions. We ordered at the counter, took our beer & number, then sat outside. The seating area wasn't cluttered & had that "you're not in the quarter anymore" vibe. The food was all fresh, hot and delivered to the table. The sausage snapped on bite-through, flavor profiles were a lovely combination & we loved it. 100% will be back. We met the owner while there and chatted briefly. As he's from Berlin, & that's on our list, it was great to have a quick one-on-one.

I tried the pork knuckle. It was good but expensive at $29. It could have been a bit crispier. It came with good sauerkraut but with Gulden's mustard. They should make their own Bavarian mustard. Service was prompt. Lots of outdoor seating so this is a great spot on a beautiful day. It's a nice funky spot. Plenty of on-street parking. Might be back for a brat.

What a surprise!!! Probably the best German food we've had in a long time. It was pouring rain when our Uber dropped us off. We initially couldn't find it but after making a call to a friend who got there before us, it's actually behind a pizza place and not on the street. There is a music venue attached to a small German eatery that has a nice menu of traditional favorites. German and Belgian style beers are on tap, cans or bottles. They have wine offerings as well. Like I said the food was delicious and the portions big for the price. Too bad it was a soft (rainy) and swampy night in NOLA. Sitting outside would have been pretty cool. But, we had a very nice time at Bratz Ya'll.

We swung by for food after a little bit of exercise at Crescent Park. It's just a few steps away from the arched pedestrian bridge. Upon entering, you can see that it's very small inside. I would say it has a cozy dive bar atmosphere. A counter to order food and drinks, and a handful of tables for seating - that's it. However, they have TONS of outdoor seating. Under the open sky with picnic tables, and a warehouse-hangar type of building with tables in it too. Equipped with propane patio heaters, it wasn't too cold, even though it was in the 40s when we went! For the winter, I would recommend dressing warmly. In the summer, it might get hot and buggy, so be mindful of that! When we went, they had live music playing. It was nice to have that going on while we devoured our food! They're playing there for free, so don't forget to tip! The food and drinks here were PHENOMENAL. I didn't have any beers, but my boyfriend said the two he tried were some of the best lagers he's ever had! We ordered the fries ($5), which are a MUST if you swing by here. The portion is large, so it's more than enough to share with someone as an appetizer. The fries themselves were thick, yet crispy, but the showstoppers were the sauces. The had an apple curry ketchup and a spicy garlic mayo. OMFG guys... I could not stop eating!! The most ADDICTING sauces I've had in a while. I would buy the sauces by the tub to use at home. I even debated driving over for another order of fries the very next day. We also ordered the NOLA schnitzel sandwich ($13). It has a giant chicken breast (or pork) about 8 inches long, breaded and fried, served with a flavorful, saucy cole slaw. This enormous sandwich is a fantastic deal for $13. It's delicious and the portion is generous! As if all of that were not enough, we decided to gorge ourselves by ordering the Schnitzel Hunter Platter ($23) too. We got the pork, which was breaded and fried to perfection again, smothered in a savory mushroom gravy with a heaping pile of creamy mashed potatoes on the side. It also came with a small serving of sauerkraut. I kid you not, the pork was thick, juicy, and the piece was about the size of my face. The portion for this was HUGE! They do not skimp here at all. Even a big eater will go home stuffed!! Most people would have leftovers! We went home stuffed like it was Thanksgiving again! R.I.P. our New Year's resolutions to lose some weight. Can't wait to go back!! Update: We tried a dessert here. I probably won't order a dessert again. It was good, but nothing special, so I'd rather just fill up on the other food here! Haha

Lovely atmosphere, Amazing staff , delicious food and beer! By far one of my favorite places to eat in NOLA

Just had it Uber Eats to me cause I live in New Orleans but it's raining. A true must visit when visiting the Big Easy.

So happy to try this for the first time Covid out a damper on my dining experiences. Wow is the first word for me. The Spatzle with gravy was so earthy and wonderfully delicious. The Nola schnitzel had a great mix of Germany and the south. The little crawfish added greatly to the texture and taste profile for me. I ordered the Oktoberfest beer and it light and just enough hoppiness to bring a smile to my tastebuds. I order a smoke sausage at the counter just to start my palate and it was good, not the best jerky style bite, but worthwhile. Be sure to get some mustard and mayo on the side they have to the left it was a great add to the schnitzel sandwich. A funny personal not I did see 3 guys come into a beer and pork styled establishment and order dessert and white wine, the younger generation is in need of a style and palate revolution at least trim the beard somewhere. But to each their own. Sorry if that sounds mean. We live in wonderfully strange times. If you arrive here please try a taste of the world and culture they offer or why even come here. Go to a wine bar. Bratz Y'all you are my new favorite taste of the town. Thanks for a great Friday evening. They also have Live music Friday Sat I will add a picture with the times.

Dig the location. Had the Black Forest beer brat and that was so damn good. I wish I would have ordered another brat sandwich instead of a pretzel. The pretzel was good the caraway Brie dip had funky bits through out that I didn't enjoy but still ate it. That brat though was so damn good. Pilsner was good too.

These guys have some authentic German Food, in a colorful historic part of New Orleans. It's rustic (aka a dive), with picnic tables galore. There's even a resident rooster, that hangs around, but don't worry. He's docile. The place is run by a real German who takes his brats seriously. At a recommendation, I tried the Black Forest beef brat. Wow! It was tender and had some real flavor. I went back for this fresh baked pretzel with dipping cheese. They make it in house, and it was piping hot when I got it. Laid back atmosphere, perfect for guys night out or a quick bite.

YEP! THAT'S MELTED WHITE CHEDDAR oozing out of the apricot chili coated applewood bacon wrapped King Brat.

Yet, it seems quite popular with locals and was fairly full for a Tuesday Trivia Night. I ordered a Pimm's cup since Pimm's was on the shelf - the bartender looked confused and told me they don't have any of the ingredients to make one. I changed my order to a flavored vodka - they don't stock any. I ended up ordering a Vodka & 7, but received a Vodka Soda. Were the drinks cheap? Not so much. Was the service friendly? Not so much. I ordered food hoping this was the redeeming feature of the bar. I ordered a steak sandwich at $18 - the service time was quick but the sandwich didn't have much flavor - it was a dry, difficult to bite through thin steak with not much flavor to speak of. The tater tots were crispy and hot and I loved the Brussel Sprouts; they were doused excessively in the dressing but I liked it. There is a nice patio out back - they had fans in this area which is always appreciated. This bar just didn't have the stock and amenities that many other bars in the area do have . Walk to magazine street for better options.
