Very nice venue inside the hotel. Super bright and lots of windows with seating that overlooks the courtyard below. The food is honestly average and little underwhelming for the price point. The tuna crudo to start was fine, super small portion. I'd say only shareable between 2 people at most. The lunch meal where you pick a protein and sides seemed like a good option but it was just ok. The piece of protein you get is comically small. The mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts came out room temperature and were not warm at all. They were just fine, nothing stellar. If you're looking for a gorgeous space, a lovely view, a talented trio of performers, excellent service, and the best beignets in New Orleans, head directly to the Grill Room at Windsor Court for brunch. If I'm being honest, the other food items were overpriced and good, but nothing special. The avocado toast was light on the avocado (the star of the show!), but the poached egg was delicious and the smoked salmon was a nice touch. The omelet is good, but not any better than you can get elsewhere. The We figured we should order the Southern biscuit, being in the South and all. It was flaky and buttery, and almost as good as the ones we make at home using my friend's grandma's recipe (this is high praise). The burger was very good, and my husband liked that quite a bit. The fries were delicious - dangerously so, in my opinion. The hot cocoa was excellent. So my advice is to come for beignets, at brunch time on Sunday, and lean in to the sugar by ordering hot chocolate, as well. That would make for a positively divine experience. Definitely recommend. I had a great Saturday Bruch experience here, and I look forward to going back. From start to finish the service was excellent. The staff was so welcoming and my bottomless mimosas stayed filled. I also loved how each dining room had a different style and beautiful decor. For my meal, I had the berry and yogurt bowl for my first course. The fruit was fresh and the house made granola was the best part. Definitely a great and refreshing start to my meal. For the second course, I ordered a New Orleans classic the shrimp and grits. I can't lie at first glance I was skeptical because I am used to shrimp and grits with a thick cream sauce, but I loved it! The texture of the grits were just right and the dish was full of flavor. The most disappointing food was scallops appetizer i would say our AMUSE was bigger than that. Service- service was excellent EXCEPT when my two other friends told our waiter that we will share the scallops he should have told us that its a tasting portion :D lol my friends ended up eating up bread twice to fill them up. For at least 5 to 6 years, we have held a confirmed reservation for table number 10 at The Grill Room on the Monday before Mardi Gras. Unfortunately, our experience today fell short of expectations, as we were informed that our table had been reassigned to friends of the ownership. The decision-making process surrounding table reservations appears inconsistent, particularly given our history with the establishment. When we discussed the matter with staff, it was indicated that tables are not typically guaranteed. The circumstances imply preferential treatment in this instance. Following this, we have canceled our upcoming birthday brunch reservation and will be redirecting our patronage to a different restaurant. Had I known the table that I reserved back in late 2025 was not going to be available today I would've taken my business elsewhere to begin with. We visited during Coolinary and received the 4 small plates of food - one "entree" and three sides. I was not impressed by the food. We started with dry bread rolls (but we each had cute Fleur de Lis pats of butter to put on the bread to make it taste better). The shrimp and grits was a flavorless grit cake with 4 overcooked shrimp on top - and then covered in soy sauce (?!) The redfish is a very small flavorless cut. The gumbo was good. The salads are, well, salads. The Mac and cheese was also flavorless. The dessert is three small spoonfuls of sorbet - passion fruit, coconut, and raspberry. The martini $7 cosmo and lemon drop specials were good. While I wouldn't return due to the lackluster food, I will say that the service was amazing and very attentive, definitely 5 stars. We always had refills and had someone checking on us. The space is also very pretty and surrounded by windows and natural light. Having free validated valet parking is also a huge bonus. read more

The only good part was the wine recommendation, we stopped at appetizers due to the fishy smell coming from the meal at the table next to us. Thank god we didn't order, the three apps were terrible! First let me say the service is immaculate! From pulling into valet, to leaving out the door, everyone is sooo courteous and makes you feel very welcomed. Valet is validated at the restaurant btw, which is a huge plus. The Grill Room has a lovely ambiance. The artwork on the walls is very nice. It's giving Old English elegant Museum There was even a musical trio playing the entire time! They came to the table to play happy birthday to my friend when we were done eating as well. But anyways, our waiter was awesome! He kept checking in on us- not where it was overbearing, but just at the perfect times. He brought out complimentary beignets for my friend's birthday. The beignets tasted so fresh, they were good. I ordered a Bellini and it was very good (the best I've had). After the waiter saw I was finished with that one, he offered a second one. After my second one, it was bottomless! ($25). He kept them coming and gave us one to go! And those Bellinis had me feeling good okay! So, on to the food. I ordered the French Toast and added a side of bacon. The french toast was HORRIBLE. It was very dry, i couldn't even taste the bourbon sauce..I had to smother it in syrup. It came with brûléed bananas and they were nasty because the bananas were not ripe at ALL. I just know these bananas were green when they were cut. But gratuity is automatically included. I think it was 15%? 22%? I can't remember but it's at the bottom of the menu. Overall though, the service and ambiance carries the weight of the rating. It was hard to decide how many stars to give because the food was not worth it at all but the ambiance and service were sooo great. 3 stars because of those, because the main reason I go to restaurants is for the food so if the food is not up to par then i can do without. We had made reservations about a month in advance. I had been here once before about 3 years ago, also during the Christmas season. The ambiance and decorations for the holidays are magnificent. I highly recommend visiting here just to see them. The food is so-so. I was not impressed 3 years ago with the food. Our visit this time was a bit better. We were seated at a beautiful round table that overlooked the entrance to the Windsor Court Hotel. It was a pretty day and the view was lovely. The service was very good. All were very attentive and kept our waters and iced teas filled. Following the drink service comes the bread service. They bring rolls and a sort of small muffin-like choice. Each person gets their own plate of 2 pats of butter that are stamped with a fleur de lis imprint on them. It's a nice touch. The breads look very pretty, but were dry and not that flavorful unfortunately. We all decided to order the plate lunch specials. You choose one main dish and then pick three sides to accompany it. It's basically one big square plate with four small little squares on it with each item. It's a fun concept and you get a variety to choose from. We all more or less got similar choices. I chose the Short Rib as my main choice. It was very good. For my sides, I chose the Gumbo of the day (that day was the Chicken and Andouille). It was decent. I also got the Brussels Sprouts (very good) and the Truffle Macaroni and Cheese (ick..). I did not care for the m&c at all. It was a bit burnt on top and it gave the m&c a bad taste. I went for breakfast. Breakfast opens at 7am which is a little late in my opinion. However, I was the only one there at 7am on a Wednesday morning. Pair of Cinnamon Toast Flapjacks (pancakes): It comes with cinnamon sugar on the flapjacks and vanilla cream. I didn't get the powered cocaine (I mean sugar) on top. It comes with dark maple syrup in a small bottle on the side. I used the whole bottle on the flapjacks and let it rest. The cinnamon toast flavor was absolutely delicious. Reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal from my childhood days. The flapjacks were not too thin or thick but perfect fluffiness, slight crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. My tastebuds haven't matured as they cried for more bites of this delicious sweetness. I got a side of sliced bananas to go along with the flapjacks. They were separated but got married in my mouth. Highly recommend. Plain Bagel w/ Dill Cream Cheese: toasted bagel and the cream cheese comes on the side. I spread it on. Nothing special about the bagel. Similar to a normal house bagel. Perfectly toasted and soft. Cheese complimented the bagel well. Overall - great food, but overly expensive. I took a photo of my receipt. I didn't give it 5 starts due to I got charged $6 for slices of a banana which is ridiculous, and $2 for water which I wasn't aware of. The server poured me water in a glass and I didn't even drink it because it was cold. I brought my own water bottle. $36 + $8 tip, $43-$44 is ridiculously expensive for breakfast. My taste buds weren't the only ones crying as my wallet begged for mercy. Be warned, your wallet will cry. The Grill Room was an amazing place to eat lunch! I ordered the Lunch Plate and selected the shrimp taco, the brussel sprouts, the quinoa salad, and the grilled vegetables. I wouldn't recommend the grilled vegetables since they were mostly just peppers, but the brussel sprouts were awesome and so was the shrimp taco! The Lunch Plate deal also comes with dessert, which was a taste of three different sherbets. The complimentary bread was also delicious--one was a sweeter bread and the other was herbed. I had a really mixed experience at The Grill Room last night. Some things were pretty great... the service, the ribeye, as well as the grits I got as a side were quite good! But, enough was off with the meal that I felt like I should write a review here. I was *really* excited by the first thing I saw on the menu: a starter soup of Maine lobster tomato bisque with truffle. It was $29, but I was treating myself, and figured that between the lobster and the truffle, it was special enough to splurge. I wish I hadn't. What came out was basically a bowl of tomato soup (where was the bisque element??) with an over cooked lobster tail in it. There was a singular ring of cooked onion in there for some reason, and the entire ensemble was seriously under seasoned. Not only was the truffle flavor nonexistent, but the soup itself was not salted. Like, at all. As in, I'm pretty sure whomever in the back was responsible for prepping this tomato broth completely forgot to put salt in it in the first place. For a $29 starter, I was massively underwhelmed. My entree (steak, grits, and "charred" broccolini) was good, but the charred broccolini wasn't charred at all... it was more sautéed. I had to stop eating my meal at one point to wait for someone on wait staff to come refill my drink... that was about 5 minutes of waiting. And then finally, the dessert selection was interesting, but there were no gluten free options available on the menu. The waiter offered that they did have sorbet and ice cream, so I settled on a scoop of the chocolate ice cream. What I was served was a small scoop, barely the size of the spoon I was given to eat it with. Given that their pastry chef "really loves his allergens" (the waiters words) and couldn't be bothered to put options on the menu that patrons with very typical food allergen issues could have, I was honestly surprised that they were so stingy with the size of the scoop of ice cream they served. I was told by someone who used to work for the Windsor Court Hotel that the food quality wasn't great, but I honestly didn't expect to be this disappointed. A restaurant of this quality should honestly be ashamed too, and I do hope they see this review and consider where they could have done better. read more

Waited more than 20 minutes after finishing drinks for server to come back around. Bar area was not busy. Wasn't our waitress who came but a male server, likely a manager. Still took another five to ten minutes for the original server to deliver our drinks. For the price of food and beverages at this spot, the service should be impeccable. read more

As a brand new Yelper I read the Shercole K. and it made me want to be able to Yelp like that (still one of the best review's I've ever read!) And it also made me want to eat here. I was reminded this year when I read Charles H. review, and I put it on my "next trip or else" list. So why did it take me so long to do that? I don't know...but it will not take me so long to return. It was...in a word...fabulous. We dressed up and made a reservation and were rewarded with one of the window tables. The view...OMG the view. It was so elegant and romantic. The food...among the best I've ever had. And we've eaten in some fancy places. It started with a complimentary Amuse Buche, and that really set the tone. Lucky for me Bob is allergic to shell fish and I got both of the little shrimp salads. I had the fish and I recommend it. I remember a salad, and veggies as well. My only complaint...we were too full for dessert. Everyone was welcoming, and the hostess even called us by name when we left. I felt special. It's all about the little things, isn't it? Worst food we ate during our visit to New Orleans - including at the airport. We paid $200 for dinner for two people. The Raw salad was the only thing the group of 16 agreed was decent. The French onion soup was insanely salty, the squid was not only lacking any flavor even with the sauce (only enough for half maybe). The last piece was so awfully chewy I was barely able to chew the bite I took and skipped finishing it. The mushroom "steak" were basically three pieces of mushroom half the size of a shrimp. My main dish was the Duck breast ordered medium by everyone in our party was extremely overcooked and dry. The beef tartare was so overpowered by ginger that I was unable to taste any other flavors, including the beef. The only reason I gave two stars is the ambiance and decor was exactly what we had hoped for. Everything was absolutely beautiful right down to the restrooms. Oh wow. I finally made it to dinner here and I wonder what took me so long. While technically we were here for a Coolinary meal, it turns out the Grill Room's 3 course tasting menu is an all year long thing. And if you wanted to upgrade, you could have a 4 course or 5 course and even add lobster or foie gras for an upcharge. I went for an all sea menu... crawfish rangoon, seared tuna, and poached snapper. I appreciated that our waiter mentioned which dishes were smaller and which were larger. And his service was on point! He was ready for drink orders and gave good advice and really made my group's meal special. Of my 3 dishes, the rangoon was good, the tuna was AMAZING and the snapper was delicious. I was pleased with all 3 and I would order the second two again, but maybe start with a salad next time. The wine and cocktail list looked amazing and I'll have to sample some of those next time. And, yes, I need to get over for that $19.84 plate lunch sometime... maybe on a weekday off so I can fully enjoy the $2 martinis! read more

And re-ordered the green fried tomato's, which didn't have salt at all, which probably was purposeful lol. I tried the chicken and waffles and they were great. If I return I'll prob get that instead. Grill Room is located inside the beautiful Windsor Court. 3 hour valet parking is free. The 3 course lunch menu is a killer deal at $20. Plus, you can get $2 martinis made with Tito's Vodka or Plymouth Gin. The options to choose from are vast and the portions were perfect. 2 women were able to share 1 plate. The quality of the food was also very good. I really enjoyed everything but the gumbo. We both hated it. The Grill Room is just old world pretty. I feel like I am dining with the queen of England. (They do offer afternoon tea BTW.) We didn't make a reservation and lucked out with 1 table, they did say it was the only walk in spot of the day so I would def make a res. I first visited The Grill Room for my 21st birthday. I don't remember much about that experience, as I wasn't the food/restaurant lover that I am now. I was excited to return for a Coolinary lunch. Everything about The Grill Room is elegant: people dressing up for lunch, the white table cloths, the view, the wait staff- perfect. They opened their doors right at 11:30 and since we had a reservation we were seated immediately. Make a reservation because when we called, 11:30 was the only reservation left, which was fine by us. We were seated by a window that was facing the city on a cozy rainy afternoon. We started with cocktails as we decided what we wanted. Jason was our waiter and he was on top of everything and so friendly! His expertise added to the entire experience. I got the grilled redfish almondine, roasted brussels sprouts, roasted tomato soup and mac and cheese. Grilled redfish almondine- so tasty! It was a small portion, but it had a lot of flavor and I loved that they left the skin on in order to keep it juicy. Roasted brussels sprouts- I love brussels sprouts and they way they were done here was perfection. I have to figure out how they make the outside crispy, but keep the inside nice and tender. I think some sort of butter sauce was involved as well. It was out of this world. Roasted tomato soup- This was my favorite!! Yes, I loved this more than the mac and cheese, believe it or not. Delicious without being too rich or heavy and full of fresh flavors- this is a must. Mac and cheese- Aahh! Tons of cheese mixed in with penne pasta! Sign me up. This dish was super rich and I was only a few bites in before I had to ask for a box. They didn't hold back on the cheese at all- it was melted all over and then baked on top. For dessert we had the sorbet. How can I describe this? Refreshing, cool, light and the perfect end to a wonderful lunch. I have to agree with Charles when he said that this is probably one of the best lunch deals in town. This is NOT your typical hotel restaurant (located in the Windsor Court hotel). Upscale and really flavorful food here. I started with the gumbo (which was awesome) and the fried oysters. Wow, the oysters were really tasty. Pickled Mirlitons, Buttermilk Aioli, Arugula, Chili Butter really rounded out the oysters. For my main I had the scallops with Pappardelle, Crawfish, Shimeji, Beurre Monte. The pasta (Pappardelle) was homemade and just so good. So, I took myself on a date. "We" had a great time!!!! I truly enjoyed the dining experience! I walked in to hello Ms. and sat at a table facing the city. The light, the life, the beauty made me happy sitting in that room. The waiter made suggestions and helped me out (being I had no clue what things on this special menu said). I made my order and then complimentary tasted of something with crab-meat in it from the Chef... In my head I said.... Shercole you are important and FINALLY someone else knows it. Then they brought out an assortment of breads, omg it was three different types. It took everything in my soul not to eat them all. My appetizer then came out, I forgot the exact name but it was like a soft-shell crab with other greatness on it. Then my meal came out... What a meal it was... Poule Rouge... mmm talk about yumminess with truffles. I actually had to hold the need to do my happy food dance deep inside my soul. Then.... the chef came out did you enjoy the food and telling me about he just designed this dish today... Once again in my head... Finally people understand my level of awesome. Note: I'm sure he originally came out for the fancy lady at a couple tables over, but HEY he still talked to me. I didn't order a dessert, but still brought out some chocolates for me. Caramel, deep rich chocolate and etc. Talk about mmmmmm. I was feeling a little extra so I ordered some tea. They brought out their fancy tea pot and cup with a jar of honey... I sat there and sipped my Chamomile tea in bliss, because this was possibly the best tea I ever had and I'm a hardcore tea drinker. I definitely had a absolutely great experience. Great tastes, classy atmosphere located inside the Windsor Court Hotel. Lamb was absolutely perfect! Until my experience at The Grill Room my best lamb dish was in Ecuador and this gave it a run for it's money. Classy dining experience, great flavour, good pairings.
