The work he does on my exotic is amazing, and he never overcharges me for it.

I've been taking all my cars here for years and Ruben always knows what the issue is and always does it cheapest, I shop around a lot. He's very well versed in european cars as well, and even when I think it's going to be expensive, it's extremely reasonable.

Not a good fit for major repairs.

So sorry, but Doug is not up to par any longer. he spends most of his day playing computer games and smoking at his desk; you feel like you're bothering him if you come in for business. his most experienced mechanic is not physically able to bend and kneel as of recent, so no one could repair my car. What a sad shame and waste.

Brea Auto is the absolute best place ever! Here I found I found experienced and knowledgeable mechanics that have worked on 1965 and older vehicles. Kevin helped identify the safety issues and was patience to explain any questions. His knowledge helped provide more options. Today with the direct help of Brea Auto, I can drive my 1965 Chevy Surburban Carry-All K10, with confidence and safety. Before taking it here, the vehicle would be hard to start, flood easy, unsafe fuel lines/filters. (This was even after having other mechanics help bring it back to life.) Today, the Chevy still runs great! The side steps Doug and Denny made have a clean awesome look. The side steps make it easy to get it and out of the truck. With the help of Kevin, he was able to help identify future problems and help me learn to keep the vehicle maintained without breaking my budget. It is fun to drive now! If it was not for Brea Auto, the Chevy would still be back sitting in some storage-rusting away. Thanks Brea Auto!

This guy is the best! Explained everything to me after I said I was an engineering student and only charged for the goodies.

When the car got there, it started fine, but Doug still recommended a starter replacement based on his experience and research.

Firestone Brake Service Review…read more I recently had my vehicle serviced at the Firestone location on Imperial Highway in Brea, California, where I had a complete brake job performed on all four wheels. Unfortunately, just a few days after the service, my wife noticed a rattling noise coming from the front-left wheel. I brought the vehicle back to Firestone to have it inspected, and the technicians determined that a bolt was missing from one of the brake calipers on the front-left side. This was the source of the rattling and, in my opinion, represents a serious safety concern. Additionally, the technicians discovered that the lower front-end cover had not been properly bolted back into place and was hanging underneath the vehicle. For work involving a vehicle's braking system, I expect a much higher level of attention to detail and quality control. Having a missing caliper bolt and an unsecured underbody cover after a brake service is unacceptable and could have potentially resulted in a dangerous situation. I would strongly encourage anyone having work done here to carefully inspect their vehicle and double-check that everything has been properly secured before leaving the shop. While the issue was eventually identified, the quality of the initial work was concerning, particularly given that it involved a critical safety component of the vehicle.

As a first-time customer, I brought my '79 El Camino to this shop because the car was idling high…read more After the service, I paid $500. They replaced my intake manifold gasket, BUT a P0200 engine code appeared afterward. I went back the next day and explained the issue. They told me they had left an injector unplugged and instructed me to clear the code, saying it would reset. The code was P0200, so I followed their instructions and cleared it. The code went away. The next day, I drove the car and it suddenly started shaking while sitting at red lights -- something it had never done in the five years I've owned this car. I checked the engine codes again, and P0200 had returned. I went back again and explained what I had experienced. They then told me that, in order to address the P0200 issue, they would first have to start by checking for vacuum leaks. This is where I became frustrated. P0200 is an injector circuit malfunction code, so I didn't understand why I was being told that I needed to start with vacuum leaks in order to address that specific code. I had already paid $500 for the initial service, and now I was dealing with a new engine code and a new shaking issue that the car had never had in the five years I've owned it. After declining any further service, I picked up my car from the shop. I then noticed a scratch along with a missing piece of rubber trim on my front bumper. I had not noticed either issue before bringing my car to the shop. The shop claimed they did not hit anything with the car, but they are also ordering me a replacement rubber piece. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience. As a first-time customer, I came in expecting to have my original issue addressed, paid $500 for the service, and left with a new engine code, a new shaking issue, and damage/missing trim that I had not noticed before bringing the car in. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. I would recommend that anyone considering this shop be aware of what happened to me and carefully inspect their vehicle before leaving the shop. When I asked why it was so high, they mentioned it included some kind of "warranty" with the oil change. I'm all for paying a fair price for good work, but for something as routine as an oil change, I expected pricing to be at least competitive with a dealership...not significantly higher. Ended up going elsewhere.
