I am just a girl, As soon as i called, a mechanic who's named Rob was very helpful over the phone. Not only did he help me but he came out to see the problem! Changed my battery for me when my triple A didn't want too, didn't pressure me into getting other things fixed.. probably because i told him what else could be going wrong with my vehicle but as soon as i told him he looked at it and fixed it without question! It's very hard to find a good trusting mechanic these days, so glad my vehicle broke down because now I can come to Rob! Pretty decent shop. The prices are fair and I really do like that they send an inspection photo/video of all the work they're doing. I've serviced a few vehicles here before. I've done simple things here like oil changes and brake service. 4 starts because I think the replacement part for the brake they put on my car is not the best great quality. I don't need the best but the ones they chose seem to glaze over quickly. I'm no speed racer but it is a pretty heavy minivan so I guess that might be why. I'll be sure to mention in the future to use better replacement parts. read more

Danny was terrible to work with I just wanted to get an estimate on a part and labor that we already new the problem with the car.. and the price was double from anywhere else so we decided to take our car somewhere else.. they would not release the car until we paid a 150.00 for the diagnostic. There service was bad, there overpriced and took a fee because we decided to take our business elsewhere. I would not do business with this company Beware.... get other estimates. do not recommend... My last review was 09/16/23. Nothing has changed. The Service that Rob (master mechanic) and Danny (who knows his stuff) and the entire crew provide is first rate. The best value for the money. They have kept my '05 Mustang GT in excellent condition. The car had a computer problem that morphed into other issues. Rob and Danny and the Team have never pressured me into repairs. They examine your car, send you a diagnostic that has a range of repairs needed. The exam was FREE. Their honesty is UNMATCHED. I've been with them SEVEN+ years. Nice work, folks. This business is incredibly professional. I made an appointment to have my car inspected for our foster care certification (already a plus since others in the area had no idea what I was asking for). I arrived at the scheduled time, they took my car and called back within in the hours promised. When we came to pick it up, they had already made the minor fixes (license plate light bulbs) and ultimately waived the inspection fee! After this experience I feel confident that they would fairly price future services. It is such a relief to know that we have a trustworthy local mechanic. I am updating my review from six years past. I can honestly say Rob and the entire Star Auto Service group has taken care of me this entire time. I'm still driving my 2007 Ford Fusion and everything which Star Auto Service has touched makes the car seem like a new. I'm a bit older, but very much still a well knowledged 'back yard' mechanic. I continue to provide a 'raving' great review about Star Auto Service but what I really hope readers take away from this is: -- Star Automotive is TRUSTWORTHY & provides HIGH QUALITY service. -- Trustworthiness is not limited to estimates. To me trustworthiness in automotive is torquing bolts to specs, properly topping fluids instead of skimming and meeting only the minimum fill required in order to save product. Trustworthiness is fixing that little issue discovered in process without creating a 'DRAMA CHARGE' which terrifies customers and quite frankly is horrible for business. Better to simply to fix the small stuff and move forward satifying the next customer. Trustworthiness is when the owner often gets his own hands greasy and working next to the rest of the team instead of pushing paper and sitting in A/C all day long. Maybe actually you could save a penny at some other lesser place, but that penny saved today likely will cost you a dollar tomorrow. Not very helpful. This place is a rip off. I had my Mercedes in their shop since Feb. I was waiting for another shop to take over the repair. I was told the vehicle was taken in the shop, only to my surprise, the car had been left outside the whole time. I was told they were understaffed and didn't have time to fix my car. The service associate Danny was very rude. Don't recommend this place at all. Be aware- they will give you false hopes and take your money. Not a very reputable place. They left the car outside for months causing bird poop to stick which ruined the paint. I had trust this place with my three cars. Little did I know I was getting ripped off. I stand corrected, it's only fair that I edit my review. The diagnosis of a cracked radiator proved to be correct, I did need to replace that and hoses, as stated in Star Auto's estimate. I however did not need other parts they quoted for a total repair of $3,191... another mechanic replaced radiator, hoses, and cap, but for $850 and all is good... not $3,191. read more

First time visiting this place. I had a driver's side window that wouldn't roll down so of course I needed to get it fixed before I get pulled over by a cop and they end up shooting me because I refused to roll down my window. I called up a few places, all which sounded shady until I finally called Star Auto Service. The lady receptionist passed me over to Rob, and Rob was very helpful. He told me to bring in my car to the shop and that his team would help diagnose the problem and let me know once they know what the issue is before charging me for any repairs. After dropping the car off, Rob actually offered to call an Uber/Lyft to take me back to my work so I wouldn't have to walk. That's great service right there! A few hours later he called and confirmed that the rotor and motor were damaged and needed to be replaced. Luckily he was able to do it all in one day so I was able to get my car back by closing time and it was working great. Unfortunately, the next day the window suddenly failed and again, I reached out to Rob and had him take a look, after his diagnostic, he confirmed that the electrical harness was damaged and explained to me in great detail how it can happen and how to insure that it doesn't happen again, he would use a longer harness. I got my car back and now everything has been working fine. Normally mechanics are known be shady and give off that vibe, but not with Rob and his team at Star Auto Service. I'm very impressed with the customer service and quality of work. I saw some people complain about the prices but honestly, it's not much different than other shops around the area, at least for me and I'm willing to pay a few extra bucks to get the great service I got here. read more

I can't say enough GREAT things about Star Auto Service, A HUGE~GIANT shout out to Patrick, Rob and Lisa, all were beyond amazing and very helpful, they even ordered me an Uber to take me to my office while they checked my car out, and I asked if I pay the Uber and Rob said nope they take care of it for me..WOW who does this these days, Well Star Auto Service does!!  They did a full diagnostic on my car and unfortunately LOTS was wrong with it, Lisa was so awesome having to deliver the bad news to me in such a kind sweet way.  Unfortunately due to how many miles on my car it wasn't worth getting everything done. Please don't trust this auto place. They are not HONEST!!! I took my car and they didn't repair anything they said they would. They took my money and failed to replaced all the parts. I wish I would have known about the Yelp offer as a new customer. We paid $40 for inspection. Rob was the one who helped us every step of the way. He was very thurough. As its known that most auto repair companies want to steal your money, get ripped off and are pricey - Rob was actually very upfront - told us not to invest our money into our used car and sympathized our situation and gave us a complimentary rental. Rob went above and beyond and stayed after hours to return our rental. He guaranteed an inspection report that same day as it was a preferrence and something we asked. While Bryan almost got screwed over a CraigsList used car deal... here comes Patrick to save the day! I always get my used car pre Inspected prior to purchasing from Dealership or Private.. you never know how these people will screw you over for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Especially there are scammers online and even though they tell you with all their heart out, it never ends well. I got a used car inspected by Patrick.. and his guys.. they did a phenomenal job.. I had never seen such a thorough , yet detailed inspection report sent to your smart phone via text or email. it shows the exact parts and areas that needs to be replaced and serviced.. Patrick also gives an honest estimate to understand what it will cost to repair them. at the end, the used car had too many flaws and problems, it was going to cost me almost $3000 to fix it. people.. don't buy on CRAIGSLIST...scammers will try to cheat your money and time.. I'm just glad I found Star Auto service.. I love family owned, prideful , and professional owners like Patrick. Once I purchase my used car, i will bring my car to have it serviced at Star Auto.
