Exceptional service and knowledge. Doug and Kevin know their stuff and are honest and reliable. They will treat your car like their own.

    Shattered screen.

This was the worst experience I ever had with an auto body shop and probably one of first negative reviews. It's a pandemic and all business are struggling, so I would never want to hurt a business, but at the same time, I want to save the customer from getting victimized. I was recommended this place by a tow service associate from AAA who jumped my car. I went there and a mechanic named KEVIN looked at my car. He was a bit off... I guess the word is rude. I have a feeling he must be a good mechanic but was terrlbe with customers. (I own a business). KEVIN gave me a price of $330 to put in a new starter and also I had a window that was not closing correctly and said it was the window motor. The quote seemed fair, and he wasn't pushing for me to fix it, but since the car was there I figured I should do it. I told him that my dad had just died and that this was a sentimental car to me since it was an older Lexus 300. 5 DAYS LATER. They called me when it was done in 5 days as they said but when I picked up the car... it was weird. Kevin had me pay... just gave me the keys. I asked him where the car was and he said on the street, fast forward... I noticed that the screen on the radio was shattered when I got home. I wasn't paying attention to it cause I was driving. I called IMMEDIATELy the next day in the morning. DOUG, the owner picked up the phone. I told him about it and told him I was bummed and asked him if I could text him the photos. I texted DOUG the photos. The owner Doug... never replied. . I called back later that day....AND KEVIN ANSWERED. As soon as I told him my name which is Sharon... and continued to tell him what happened, he told me he was the mechanic and that I was basically lying and that he didn't do it. This was over the phone. He hadn't even seen the photos yet. Why would I make this stuff up? Next day. I ended up driving there the next day and I talked to them calmly and asked if they would take a look at it and explain how this could have happened. The owner said that it may have cracked while parked on the street in the heat. He said he would look up any radios and get in touch. 5 DAYS LATER. NO word. I texted him. NO ANSWER. I think this place which has been around for 10 years... has gotten away with bad business. THE PROBLEM HERE IS NO FOLLOWUP. MISTAKES HAPPEN...but NO FOLLOWUP IS WORSE, then an accident happening. IF THIS HAPPENED TO YOU... I would also contact and complain. It doesn't take that long. Being a car guy, there are some things I just can't do anymore and so happy I ran into the guys at Brea Auto & Electric. If there is a classic car that comes out of their shop and the owner isn't just thrilled with the results- I'd like to see it. They have worked on 2 of my vintage autos and helped me out on a wiring problem on my 57 as well as got my fastback running again..better than ever. Great job and they really are car guys too- they look to work on anything and I'm sure they can. Again so happy that we met and so so happy with the quality of their work.

My car didn't pass smog so I was referred to Doug's Brea Auto Electric to find the problem. Kevin helped me out right away and solved the issue which didn't break the bank. These guys are awesome!

This is the type of work you get. Don't worry they'll keep the prices low and only charge you $1000 for it. Thanks to brea auto electric.

Complete trash. 3 weeks, $1000 and problems later down the road. Is the result you get from brea auto electric. Complete unprofessional work and almost made me laugh over the phone when he called my vehicle a "shit box". Don't bother talking to the boss because he will just put the mechanics on the phone to defend their work. Negative 5 stars. You guys are garbage and I recommend to everyone that's looking up this place to just learn how to do it yourself on YouTube or pay a friend, unless you wan to end up with wiring that looks like my photos thanks brea auto electric, you sure outdid yourselves My "shit box" runs great now, no thanks to you.

They replaced my intake manifold gasket, BUT a P0200 engine code appeared afterward. I went back the next day and explained the issue. They told me they had left an injector unplugged and instructed me to clear the code, saying it would reset. The code was P0200, so I followed their instructions and cleared it. The code went away. The next day, I drove the car and it suddenly started shaking while sitting at red lights -- something it had never done in the five years I've owned this car. I checked the engine codes again, and P0200 had returned. I went back again and explained what I had experienced. They then told me that, in order to address the P0200 issue, they would first have to start by checking for vacuum leaks. This is where I became frustrated. P0200 is an injector circuit malfunction code, so I didn't understand why I was being told that I needed to start with vacuum leaks in order to address that specific code. I had already paid $500 for the initial service, and now I was dealing with a new engine code and a new shaking issue that the car had never had in the five years I've owned it. After declining any further service, I picked up my car from the shop. I then noticed a scratch along with a missing piece of rubber trim on my front bumper. I had not noticed either issue before bringing my car to the shop. The shop claimed they did not hit anything with the car, but they are also ordering me a replacement rubber piece. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience. As a first-time customer, I came in expecting to have my original issue addressed, paid $500 for the service, and left with a new engine code, a new shaking issue, and damage/missing trim that I had not noticed before bringing the car in. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. I would recommend that anyone considering this shop be aware of what happened to me and carefully inspect their vehicle before leaving the shop. These older vehicles have required more maintenance/service as they've aged over the years. Bentley work has included starter motor replacement, twin turbo replacement (both), radiator, and the required and scheduled oil-filter maintenance. Spark plugs, etc on the longer intervals have been performed as per manual instructions. Likewise, the CLK350 has been maintained and serviced meticulously over the years as scheduled. Not only are the vehicle service visits far lower costs than from their respective dealers, but lower overall then competing qualified auto mechanic shops---- but the trust I have with the mechanics at Brea Auto Repair is not equal, as they are more than qualified to service these cars. I rarely rate any business a 5/5 but this is the one exception I will make. I highly recommend this vehicle repair facility to meet and exceed anyone's expectations.
