My friends and I continually patron this establishment. One that really isn't too pretty to look at but having been to third world countries and dined on crumbled walls I have to say it isn't too bad. Food is well above average. This would be my "skip driving to Arlington" Kabob. Great Kufta and huge freshly baked bread won my heart. The Kufta is well cooked, with a charcoal..y taste to it. Chicken is good too. But overall I have to say I can't leave a grain of rice or the cucumber salad. It's just so good. Sometimes the cucumber may be wilted. Just ask for another one. Mix it all together and since the Kufta is less than 8 dollars it's worth the price. You get a lot of food! Buen Provecho! read more

It's a nice kabab place, the steak sultani was good,so was the chicken super, the green sauce was spicy and the youghurt with cucumber was good. The interior does need to be improved, the complementary tea was very good. The service was quick and food served at the right temperature. Will try their dizi next time. I've been coming out to Bread and Kabob from DC for 11 years. At first they were great. For a few years the quality of the food went down. Right now though, it has the best chicken and kubideh kabobs I have ever tasted. Add their fantastic, complimentary green sauce and cucumber tomato salad and this place is unbeatable. Best bread ever in a real tandori oven! - - Today This place is a no frills Persian restaurant. Admittedly in a very ethnic stripmall that I would never have ventured into except I was shopping for blinds in a nearby store. But when you see Middle Eastern families going into a Middle Eastern restaurant you have a sense it's going to be good. We were enticed in by watching a guy make bread, basically naan, in a tandori oven. Amazing to watch, amazing to taste and only $1 for a huge piece of bread. Try the lamb kabob served on rice or BREAD!! with onion, tomatoe and a spicy yogurt and garlic sauce. This is a hidden little jewel. The food is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. Alot of folks have their preference on the types of kabobs they like without knowing it. The cooking styles varies between Iranian, Afghan, Pakistani and etc etc. Hands down, I believe this place has the best Iranian Kabobs in this area. I believe the more popular chains (we will not name out of the respect of the mentioned) has indeed been too much commercialized. However, Bread and Kabob has really that original taste that reminds us of the more popular Iranian Kabob restaurants when they first open. I ordered, like many, the Chicken Sultani. Very juicy boneless chicken breast marinated and grilled just right. The Kubieh was also very juicy. Rice was typical. Nothing really fancy, which should be, because it complements the meat. The only complaint was that it could use some more smoky favor. Great price too, only $8. I got a side order of bread, which also was baked in a traditional tandoori oven. The cucumber yogurt sauce is one of the best I've tasted in awhile. Just the right consistency. I've seen places where they make it as thick as wallpaper paste to thinner than Uncle George's hairline. -1 star because it's off a off beaten path and they used gas instead of charcoal. I think if they start using Charcoal, the meat will be 10x more flavorful. read more

Today I ordered chicken kabob with bread for carry out. The chicken wasn't the most teneder or juicy, and the piieces were pretty small compared to other places. I will say that I loved their spicy yogurt sauce, but not much else was worth noting. Maybe some day this place will rise to their former glory. read more

I'm a food lover and I eat all over the place. This place is near my building and after my last visit I'll never have kabobs anywhere else! The meats were not over cooked. Like another poster, I will head out to Mirage up the street, generally when i am craving this kind of food. After a friend took me here a few weeks ago, I have already been back twice. Partly because I am a bit lazy and can't muster the energy to cook for myself, but also because the kabobs and the bread (omg, the bread...) are so good. The bread is hands-down better than Mirage's. But one thing totally worth mentioning... the staff are so awesome. i have become accustomed to abrupt service at area kabob joints, but these guy chat with you, they remember you, they introduce themselves to you... it is pretty awesome. I always get their Kubideh with rice and it hits the spot every time. I prefer this place over Z Kabob, which is down the street, because the Kubideh greasy/oily. It's grilled and charred. And the green sauce is awesome. A touch spicy but just the right amount. The prices aren't bad either. I took a star off for the facility itself. It could use an upgrade. Food is pretty good. Got the lamb and chicken kabob with naan. The meat is flavored well and if you want spice they give you a spicy sauce on the side. The naan puts it over the top. They use a tandoori oven so the naan comes out hot, light, and fluffy. Located in a random strip mall but worth the trip. Good prices too. read more

This is the best kabob place in Northern Virginia. It is sooo consistent. I like the chicken kabob with bread, what else, but you can get rice instead if bread is not your thing. The kabob is served with an accompaniment of grilled onion and tomato, a side of cucumber salad, and a side of spicy chick peas. And, of course, a serving of spicy green yogurt sauce. The bread is cook in a huge kiln after you order, so it always comes out piping hot--crispy on the edges and soft and puffy in the center. So good! This is a super casual place, and crowded, so just be prepared to sit at a no frills table watching cnn with about a billion other people while the cooks traipse through the dining area lugging out rice, dough, and drinks to bring behind the counter and cook. Grilled Kabobs in Tyson's is better. I would definitely go elsewhere for kabobs. I think I only finished my plate because I happened to be ravenous at the time. The only thing I really liked about the food was the sauce (chutney?), which was cool, sour, a bit spicy, and you could have as much of the sauce as you want. The cucumber salad came in a small bowl, and had an tasty light dressing. The meats had an weird flavor, which was not the smokey/grilled aroma I was expecting from kabobs. I tried the sausage, beef, and chicken kabobs; all had the same weird flavor. Kabobs came with a wedge of grilled tomato and grilled onion. This is a hiddem gem! If you are looking for quick and good persian food this is it! I ordered the chicken kabob to go. The chicken was so flavorful and I love that it had a lemony taste to it. It was juicy and tender. The rice and garbanzo beans side item was also good. They give you a small salad of diced tomatoes and cucumbers. The salad was a bit bland, but hey Im here for the kabob not the salad. Price was so cheap. My plate was $9.27 including tax. Awesome deal compared to other kabob places which charge $12+. I'm a regular customer, and I was there last Thursday. I was looking for the manager to inform the mess he had in the restaurant. The bathroom was very filthy and had vomit present. During a pandemic, the customers should not have to tolerate that. It's absolutely disgusting and unsanitary, and it seems that the employees at the front didn't care that their place was dirty. I paid attention to the employee handling the cash I gave and when they handled food and didn't wash up or use gloves at any point... The food is usually good, but the restaurant really seems to have changed now. I took some pictures of the restaurant's condition but I won't post them as long as the manager and team does something about this and pays attention to the restaurant as well as just be clean. The management should also tell the employees to respect the customers especially during times like these. This is one of my favorite places to eat, but I am writing because I was incredibly disappointed this time. read more

I am a frequent visitor at this location. I usually stop in at lunch and eat in and carryout occassionally. The food is very good (definitely above average) when compared to the other kabob places in the DC metro area. The only thing I don't care for here is the decor and setup of the place. The bathrooms are extemely small and the kitchen is the size of a walk in closet. I wish they would move out or relocate to a bigger place. If the food is good, people will come :) hehehee like me! read more
