Good bakery in Princeton with a cute interior. Their sourdough bread is excellent and their zucchini bread is my favorite treat. Also got a cappuccino and caught up with a friend, so perfect for an afternoon.

Bread Boutique opened last month in Eclair Cafe's old location on Witherspoon. They're a bread store owned by the same hospitality group as Chez Alice, Peacock Inn, and Proof. They carry a range of loaves, viennoiseries, bread rolls, cookies, sandwiches, drinks, and some weekend specials like challah and babka. There's limited seating inside, similar to the set-up when it was Eclair Cafe. Their breads are shipped in every morning from the same off-site facility that makes Chez Alice's baked goods. I only tried a few items here but wasn't a fan: they were dry and a bit commercial tasting, comparable to Terra Momo across the street. I think Little Chef and The Pastry Room are better options for viennoiseries downtown, and Lost Bread Co at the farmers market and Lillipies in the shopping center both have better bread in my opinion.

    Pistachio croissant

Went here on a Sunday morning to kill some time and tried their pistachio croissant and a latte. The croissant was nice and flaky but not my fav pistachio filling inside. I enjoyed their croissant. There are a few tables but it was quiet while I was there and everyone else was just in and out. I'd go back to try their other pastry options or their bread

Their limited offered item: Pistachio croissant was amazing! If you love nutty & buttery flavors, this is the one! The filling was way too much that it kept dripping down while I was eating the croissant! The croissant shell was crunchy but soft inside. It was perfect cream filled croissant I've ever had so far!!

Quiche (bacon) is so dry and no flavors at all. Chicken salad, taste very mush and powdery taste to it.

Take a look at the photo. $5. Raised their prices and the quality has gone down size has gotten much smaller. They were doing so well, but they seem to have made some poor choices. Some of this may truly be because of rent and cost of materials. Don't know what the proper answer for that is but just be aware that they have changed.

This place was very cute and conveniently right next to Princeton University! I got the croissant and a tea. Both we very good. The restaurant is really bright and trendy.

It is a beautiful cafe !!

It is a beautiful cafe and pastry is delicious!! The staffs bring your coffee to your table that I did not expect. But they don't have enough tables when it is crowded. But I absolutely love this cafe and would like to visit whenever I go to the Princeton University area .

    Pastrami on rye

Cute cafe, clean and bright with a hint of Parisian cafe feel to it. Plenty of staff, helpful & courteous. We had almond croissant, spinach and cream cheese croissant, and pastrami on rye sandwich. 1) almond croissant: excellent. very flaky, buttery with plenty of sliced almond toppings & the almond paste filling. If I have to nitpick, I'd say the filling's a tad on the sweet side (personal preference). 2) spinach & cream cheese croissant was Ok. Again, the croissant itself was good, but I expected the filling to be more flavorful (and just more filling, period). 3) pastrami on rye: flavor was good, the bread was excellent, but the amount of pastrami in the sandwich was paltry. If they'd double the meat, that'd add another star to this sandwich. Next time we'll try their breads.

He said "no plastic" - we ate it with our hands - we were not near our home - I understand no plastic but why he didn't have alternative cutlery was beyond comprehension. He was also quite rude in the way he spoke. We were excited to see an of out of the way bakery but with this person's attitude, we will be going to the other cafes in Princeton.

Overall pleasant. I actually preferred the chocolate one, though- the chocolate filling was dark and rich, and there was a good amount of it inside the croissant. The croissant dough had layers, although it seems like they had somewhat collapsed- it might be because I ate them some time after they had been baked, but unsure. It did not feel condensed or too chewy, though. I wasn't the one who ordered them, so can't speak much about the service. I have passed by the storefront before, and it looks small, more of a takeout vibe than a sit down and chat cafe.

We just tasted it and skipped the rest . Open face Mediterranean sandwich was a tad better. Bread was well toasted and veggie filling n balsamic added some flavor n texture . Ambience was bright and nice with additional outdoor seating . Service was slow and not very hygienic. When we shared feedback about the missing veggies in the veggie sandwich , the hostess was understanding and apologized. Offered a complimentary dessert which we refused as I did not find the baked good appetizing ( given the flies that we noticed ) There is street parking and few spots at the back of the building Overall not a place I would return. At first, walking in gave me a wave of nostalgia because it reminded me of the Olives I used to visit in New York City. While it's not the same restaurant, this one absolutely stands on its own. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and my husband had a kale salad loaded with vegetables and all kinds of good things like pecans, carrots, red cabbage, chick peas and more...he loved it. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you could tell the quality of the ingredients was a priority. The pricing was also very reasonable, especially for how good the food was. We took our meals to go and walked down the street to a picnic table, which made for a perfect, relaxed lunch in Princeton. Great food, great value, and a spot I'd happily return to. There were also some really good desserts to pick from as well, but I passed them up. Pro tip... there can be a line to order your food during busy times of the day.
