Hey, My name is Mary. I grew up in a small town where the rain would fall down. I felt like no one could here me...so I breakAWAY on Yelp. So, I was driving to bioluminescent kayaking and had to stop for dinner, Karen was hungry. There was a bright light at the end of the street...it was called break Awayz. They told us there was a 30 minute wait. It took 15. We got drinks while we were waiting so that was nice. I'm a big drinker...and the drinks are nice and large and very good. I ordered the poke nachos...tasted good...BUT if you are into American portions..the portion is a bit smaller. My friend Cat ordered Fried artichoke.. it was more of an American size and very good. I was kind of into the smaller sizes. Make sure you're actually hungry for your entrée. For dinner all three of my friends ordered tacos. The taco that ruled them all was the poke taco. Caitlin was our server...her 4th day on the job I later found out. Went there due to 4.5 . So happy we drove a bit further. I had shrimp tacos and a jalapeño -muddled spice margarita. Tacos were fresh, vibrant and tasty. Shrimp was delicious. I asked for blackened and it was a light blackening and paired perfectly with the fresh cabbage, sweet peppers and aioli. Nice place for casual outdoor dining. Flatbread pizza and chicken satay are excellent. Others liked the Ahi tuna as well. One of the better food stops on A1A in Flagler Beach. read more

Food is always fresh and beer is always cold. Conch Fritters are top notch but they serve them with Spicy Remoulade for dipping. I prefer and always have tartar sauce. I was informed they were out of tartar and one of the servers RICHARD actually went out of his way without coaching to hand make it himself. Been here a few times and will definately be back. Great place right across the street from the ocean. We had the Ahi Tuna and the Portobello dinner, both were delicious. We loved their choice of drinks and the service was fantastic. It was a perfect choice for a late lunch with an absolutely mesmerizing view of the Atlantic, if you sit outside. read more

This has been our favorite place in Flagler Beach for nearly 10 years. Tonight took 1:45 for four beers and an appetizer. On top of that my credit card ended up at another table. I didn't recognize a soul after a stable staff for years. In addition the picnic tables were closed as I think they didn't have staff to wait on them. Not sure what is happening here, but I know it's not good. 20 minutes after ordering a beer I was told it ran out. Appetizers were small compared to the past and not hot. Luckily we ate somewhere else first or I would have lost my mind. This on a holiday weekend Saturday night! read more

This place has the classiest food on the strip for tapas or entree. Poorly They just need to train or realize to be more pleasant when new to the area walking in. The bartender watched me stand there for a bit while she was wiping the bar down, no greeting from the start. I felt very unwelcomed as same as a staff standing at the door not greeting. It's truly a local only bar as of my experience. The owner of this place has a great concept and fab business except for unpleasant staff. read more

Comfortable environment by the ocean. Great food and drinks. Not your typical beach bar.

This was our first time visiting Flagler Beach. We relied on the 4.5 star review for this restaurant and were disappointed. The outdoor seating is pet friendly, which was nice as we travel with our dog. My meal was served more than 20 minutes before my husband's. When we asked the waitress about it she was apologetic and said it was delivered to another table by mistake. The staff we interacted with were very nice, but I'm sorry to say that the food and my margarita were not what we expected considering the rating and prices. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day, but I'm not sure if we will return. read more

I didn't check Yelp...I just took a chance, driving north on A1A, looking for a place to get seafood with a view. Call it luck. This place is excellent. Granted, I think we got 2 of the best entrees they offer, the Ahi Poke Bowl, and the Ahi Entree. I had the bowl. I've had this many times in Honolulu. The quality of the tuna was as good as any I've had. The marinade was a little different, with a hint of BBQ sauce. Nice touch. The rice was good, sushi-sticky. The cabbage and avocado were nice accompaniments. I was told after we were done eating that I could replace the rice with seaweed salad. Which brings me to the Ahi Entree. It came with seaweed salad that was as good as any I've had in fine sushi restaurants. Next visit, I'll opt for more of that than I was able to steal from the wife's plate this time. Her Ahi was also very high quality and was seared perfectly. There were no complaints about portion size. Service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Seating was varied, inside and out. The beer selection was varied, mostly micros, some Florida, some west coast. The bar looked nice. I'm anxious to return for other Ahi items on the menu, and to try some of their other options. read more

Been here twice and so thankful we have found this gem. It doesn't look like much on the outside or the inside for that matter. Looks like a typical beach bar. But the food is anything but ordinary. #1 for original style Chicken Wings in Flagler and Volusia!! Wings were large, juicy and choosing the mild sauce made them even more delicious with just a slight touch of kick - in other words, perfect! But wait, there's more! :) We were there for a weekday lunch and chose the Spinach Dip burger special and the Baja Tacos with chicken from among many other great looking items on the food menu. The beer choices were impressive and there were quite a few we will try on a weekend/evening visit.. The burger was nicely presented with an excellent quality patty that was perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested. The Spinach Dip complemented the burger beyond my expectations - so tasty, would absolutely order again. Three delicious tacos with chicken were served with a nicely selected complement of toppings. They were fully stuffed - so much so that 2 of the three went home (maybe someone had too many chicken wings). Fresh seafood. Decent menu choices but slightly limited. Colorful presentation. Cajun style blackened fish tacos were very good. I was disappointed that they didn't serve grouper which is common in coastal FL. No fries. But excellent micro beer choices. Great spot to chill w back ground music and a view of the ocean. Great place with great view of the beach. Husband and I ate here two days in a row. Great staff helps each other out and makes sure you're satisfied. Food is fresh and delicious. Yesterday we had conch fritters for appetizer, then had margarita flatbread and shrimp tacos. Today we both had poke bowls, one with and one without seaweed. Cannot go wrong here. We have been to many places in Flagler. Most are alike in food and experience. Break Awayz was not like those. It was delicious with super cool vibe. We sat at the bar. There are plenty of TVs to watch whatever game you want. Great drinks, craft beers, pleasant staff. There was even a girl eating at the bar who works there and came in on her day off to have dinner. That's when you know it's a good spot. We are planning a 2nd trip before we leave and we only stayed overnight Saturday to Sunday. It's that good! read more

Simply amazing! Decided to stop by and enjoy the view of the ocean and the food! Hubby had to choose from the extensive beer menu and was expertly assisted by Nick! We shared the marvelous special of the day...mango srircha pulled pork sliders! What a terrific blend of beer infused mango srircha BBQ sauce over the slow cooked pulled pork. Who would think to top it all with pineapple cilantro coleslaw?? The brioche buns were fresh! Vanessa stopped by to ensure that we were taken care of and we were. Break Awayz is an unassuming little joint located on the beach. Very casual. Very touristy. The 2-page beer menu is outstanding in itself, as is the rotating draft beer selection. We will visit again just for the varied beers if nothing else. I just wish some of the beers were served at the proper temperatures. Not all bottled is meant to be refrigerated. We tried the Chicken Satay and were quite unimpressed. The chicken portions were small with no cooked-in seasoning except for the added sauce. The sauce was so peanutty that it reminded us of jarred chunky peanut butter. The "asian slaw" had no dressing but was garnished with a cute flower. The jasmine rice was cooked perfectly, but it's hard to mess up rice. All-in-all, a decent beach front joint for a cold beer or two. Bring your wallet as 2 draft beers and one order of Chicken Satay set us back $24, w/ tip...$30. read more

They have great food, an amazing beer list, a wonderful ocean view, and an awesome and knowledgeable staff all in a super laid back beach atmosphere.
