This review is long overdue as this place has become a staple for breakfast/brunch on the weekends when I want to take a nice, scenic drive out of the city. I debated between a 4/5 as the food is always on point but the service can be a bit uneven but ultimately it was a 5 as when do they make mistakes they're genuinely apologetic or even comp items, depending on the issue. On to the great food; I've tried a lot of things on the menu but the standouts are: - Crab Cake Benedict - I've had a lot of variations of this but their version is probably one of the best I've had, especially since you can really taste the fresh crab meat - Chicken Fried Steak - Only served on the weekends but again one of the better versions of a dish I've had so many times at so many different places. The chicken fried steak is super crispy on the outside but isn't super greasy/heavy and you can tell they scratch make the mushroom gravy. Breakfast Sandwich - Pro tip always sub in carnitas as the meat. This is less a sandwich and more a huge pile of toppings atop an open face English muffin but I'm not complaining =D If you're looking for an awesome breakfast joint with an awesome view this is your spot! read more

The good: A breakfast spot with an ocean view! You can view the ocean from the outdoor seating area or the window seats inside. I like how much sun there was in the booth area that I sat in by the front. You order casually at a counter but the waiters bring your food to you. You clean up your own plates afterward. There's a restaurant between this one and the ocean but even so, you can still see the waves crashing against the wall barrier. I tried a chicken, sun-dried tomato and pesto crepe with a side of hashbrowns and salad. I also tried my husband's montecristo and mom's banana and wheatgerm pancakes. The pancakes were very large and uniform. I liked that the bananas were nicely integrated into the pancake rather than cut separately and laid on top. I also liked how they weren't too sweet. The chicken for the crepes was juicy and the pesto sauce was nice. Their coffee is nice and strong. The bad: The crepe itself had toasted edges and a consistency that was a bit different than a regular crepe. I would have liked for the hashbrowns to stick together a little more. The hashbrowns were a bit on the wet side. I would have liked fresh milk for the coffee rather than the mini packaged creamers offered for them. Really great place!! I seemed to remember this place from another location but I may have been wrong, but overall we had a great breakfast here and giving 4 stars as my mom loved her blueberry pancakes with sugar free syrup that is worth it alone. A very good place with great breakfast menu, my wife had her 2 eggs over easy with hash browns and bacon and loved it. I had a chili omlette that was super good and asked for very crispy hash browns which I rarely eat but had to splurg today and liked them alot. Wow. This cute little gem with picnic tables outside you can see the ocean.. We were out hiking and saw this place. The menu was amazing food is reasonable. I asked if my dog could sit with me and they even brought hima bowl of water. I ordered the crab sandwich my friend got the burger. First I must say that the service here is above and beyond. They go above board to welcome you. Very impressed with service. The crab sandwich made with toasted ciabatta awesome. Packed with crab seasoned perfectly. The eggs benedict and coffee here is pretty good. Like other American restaurants, the coffee is free to get a refill. The price is average for the area. I love having brunch here while sitting by the windows, looking at the ocean. I've been here 2 times and plan to go again soon. Good food, and a beautiful view. If I were here on vacation though, there are way more impressive brunch spots in the Bay Area that I'd rather recommend. But, if you're around this area, go and try this restaurant definitely! read more

Another hidden gem in Pacifica. After a morning hike, met up with my cousins for brunch between a great morning hike and more golf in the afternoon. Wednesday mid morning, still over half full was a good sign. Lots of choices on the menu, made for some tough choices. One cousin picked the Belgian waffle with fresh blueberries (sorry no picture) the other picked the Huevos Rancheros, and I picked one of my favorites, that you don't see in a lot of restaurants, Eggs Florentine. After ordering at the counter, we decided to eat out on the open air patio, being a little overcast, it was very nice outside. The only downside was the blackbirds and starlings that were attempting to snag something of our plates, if we didn't keep an eye on them. I guess it's better than having seagulls trying? lol The food came out quickly, and we were not disappointed, plenty to eat, enough to keep us full through golf, which can be hard work, when you play like we do. Both the eggs Florentine and Huevos Rancheros had fresh tomatoes and avocado added, which were delicious additions, to already great dishes. Service was great, checking on us regularly. Definitely a great little breakfast. They do have another menu for the rest of the day. One cousin had came down early on Monday afternoon, said it was busy in the afternoon as well. I love this place. Family owned and it feels like that when you walk in very welcoming plenty of seating if your dining in. All the scrambles and omelets are bomb. They have good smoothies. And if your don't want hash browns you can sub them out for crispy tater tots and the tots are hella good read more

Stopped here when the hotel I was staying at recommended it no hesitation. Hot coco had a generous enough helping of whip cream that puts a smile on any morning face! Service was slow, and I struggled to get my order in. Paying after was even more chaotic between trying to flag down a server and the counter pile up of people talking, waiting to pay, or waiting to be seated. Stopped in for brunch on a sunny Sunday. FYI - this isn't a sit down restaurant with a server anymore. You order at a window and they bring the food to you and your bus your own tables. The seating is first come first serve. We ordered a decaf, regular coffee, crab crepe and carnitas crepe. Both crepes come with hash browns but I substituted tots, which were super tasty. My husband loved his carnitas crepe, the meat was very tender and flavorful. I liked the crab crepe but think it was a bit bland. My coffee was a bit bitter, but it was alright. I got a monte Cristo and I would barely consider it a monte Cristo - it tasted like low grade deli meat and the battered crust was more like some really sad French toast. Hash browns were a little bit wet. My mom got the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise broke as she ate it and they used circular deli ham instead of Canadian bacon, in an overpowering ratio. The huevos rancheros seemed fine, but it also looked like it was served in something you'd see on a depressing taco lunch day in a school cafeteria. Coffee was also bitter. read more

Visited breakers on a Saturday around 9am. We were lucky and got seated right away given one table was empty. When we finished around 10am, a waiting line started to form. I went with the crab Benedict and a one slice of French toast on the side. The crab Benedict was average and the hollandaise sauce did not overcome the fishy smell of the crab. The hash fries portion is generous. The French toast was below average and it maybe due to the fact I ate it after the Benedict's so it was a bit called. The food is ok but they have the junkiest plastic "parklets" in front that just look cheap and trashy. They moved in those bulky plastic traffic barrier 3 years ago during the pandemic and apparently them nor the city seem to care that this very temporary solution is still in place. Also they no longer do traditional table service. Lastly I see a lot of people eating from to go containers. It's just doesn't have that breakfast dinner vibe anymore. Roast beef was super dry and old tasting.. there were two slices of beef on sourdough grilled on a VERY thick layer of Parmesan cheese.. this was really bad. We tried telling the guy but he just said ok.. Strawberry waffle, not much to say about it. Tasted like a homemade waffle with bisquick batter.. pretty dry and flavorless. Checked out this place since it was right beside our hotel. The reviews said this place had some of the best food at the lowest prices for the area. And the crowd milling outside was testament to that claim. My family was about 45 minutes from wanting to eat, and it was perfect timing to get our name on the list since a party of 20 just sat down! The crowd had not diminished when my family returned. In fact that line maintained even as we left. They have little cups of hot strong coffee for you to keep warm while you wait. The shore is just yards away and provides plenty of eye candy to distract you. We ordered an omelette which was outstanding, pancakes with coconut, macadamia nuts and banana (they were dinner plate sized and a stack of three), and country fried steaks. The steak was properly cubed and had a crunchy batter under a decadent gravy of chopped sausage link and chunky mushrooms, the hash browns were golden brown, the eggs spot on. What's not to like? The service was attentive, brisk and very warm. Steven ran the register in between helping to clear tables. Just one minor blemish to an otherwise perfect meal--the coffee at the table was noticeably weaker than the flasks up front. Update 3/27/19 I went here the other morning with my wife, this has always been one of the more decent breakfast spots in pacifica! They arent amazing but they are definately one of the best spots in town as pacifica doesnt have many good options for breakfast. I ordered the chorizo 3 egg scramble and was not really happy with it. It was dry and full of olives. Olives are my least favorite food in the entire world so it was my own fault for not checking the menu ingredients but either way it was such a weird ingredient to have. The chorizo had no flavor. There was a hair in my salsa that came with my plate that I didn't find until i poured over my hash browns. They were very friendly about replacing them. Some places get so rude about it so i really appreciated that, i underatand accidents happen to so that wont keep me from coming back either. I just think i ordered the wrong thing for me so next time i will get something else. My wife ordered a omelette which she loved and she highly reccomends them. I usually get the eggs Benedict. One thing i dont like that they do is leave pitchers of water out. It feels lazy and all the ice is melted at every table because they dont keep up on it when they are slow. If they are going to do that they should fill them up WHEN you get there. Breakers is a pretty good breakfast spot though and you should try it! read more

What a cute and delicious place for weekend brunch! This café is located right next to Rockaway Beach and has full indoor and outdoor seating. As one previous yelp review mentioned they are still having people order at the counter and then bringing food to your table in to-go boxes. This was one downside I noted as it seems to generate a lot of unnecessary waste, but I understand that during COVID businesses have to make different adjustments. The food is good. I ordered a Eggs Benedict Florentine that was tasty. Lots of spinach. They don't have espresso drinks, but do you have coffee and hot cocoa. This place feels like your neighborhood diner but with some healthier options. Staff was super friendly and kind. The prices are about average, but a little steeper than I expected for this type of food. Definitely recommend this brunch spot for anyone passing through Pacifica. read more

I love supporting local restaurants. This was really good. Came here for the first time with my friend. I ordered crab crepe. It was filled with a good amount of real crab. It was good! It came with hash browns. I was surprised that it didn't come with toast, though. My friend had French toasts with pork sausages and egg. Nothing special she said. They don't take reservations. You get in line, order your food and then you find a table. The food was in a to-go box. I guess just in case you don't find a table then you can take it and eat elsewhere? It's been a very long time since I've eaten out, so eating from a box was disappointing. Overall, 4 stars for the food and staff. read more

Busy place on the weekends for breakfast, but the wait isn't too long. The coffee is a rich and dark Italian roast. It's a little pricier than most, but the portions are twice as big and tasty. It was really too much food. They are not composting, so probably lots of food waste. The Eggs Florentine was delicious. I love that they automatically add avocado to that dish, but I don't like anemic tomatoes. We're in California and I'd expect tomatoes would be fresh and ripe ar every restaurant here. Sigh... He had the Sailor Omelette with spinach, bacon, mushrooms and cheese. The hashbrowns were crispy and not greasy like in some places. Just how he likes them. Service was prompt and efficient. It's a small place with appealing decor. The crepes were too thick and it's fine if they don't contain cheese, but thinner and crisper is how we like them. Beach town vibe, friendly staff. Food is tasty and portion is generous. Huevos rancheros (4/5): it is served on top of toasted wheat tortilla. The chorizos is little heavy but works well with the tortilla. Other ingredients are fresh. The portion is super generous. I come after an 8-mile hike and had no breakfast, but I still can't finish it. Crab crepes (4.5/5): Cheesy, rich, crabby. The only complaint is the salad dressing is a bit too sweet. read more

We went back for lunch. We both got bacon cheeseburgers. My husband got fries, I substituted my fries for tater tots, because who doesn't like tater tots. They came with this marinaded salad that was simple but still very tasty. The tots hit the spot and I didn't end up eating my burger until dinner time. #2 2017 I was having a self indulgence day. I find I need this more and more now that I'm taking my cues from the new prez - Diane first, always Diane first. Just kidding, but today for a few hours anyway. Pedicure at Kim's Natural Nails, followed by lunch, followed by massage at Pacifica Wellness and Massage. Don't feel like the waits and prices at NIck's or Moonraker, and I'm not a huge fan of Rock'n Robs, but I've never tried Breakers. The menu is huge, with lots and lots of breakfast options, but I hate to eat breakfast without bacon, and I'm trying to take off the 2 lbs I put on over the holidays, so I'm thinking salad. Like so many local diners, I think salad is not their forte, and pretty much all the salads involve things that up the calorie count. I love a good chicken salad, and I like curry, so I went for that. Pluses: Greens are very fresh, dressing is served on the side. Toasted pecans are fresh and perfectly toasted adding excellent crunch. Chicken is fresh, not too much mayo, and the water chestnuts are a good addition. They leave you a small water pitcher so you can refill at will. Staff is friendly in a natural way, and there are lots of regulars. Minuses: Floors are quite dirty, not just the remnants of some recent guest meal, but need to be thoroughly washed. Salad is served in a melmac bowl which makes it tricky to cut the greens, and they are in pretty big pieces. When I try to make this maneuver, the bowl slides around because it is so lightweight. I'm a salad gal, but way too large a portion of greens. It had both apples and raisins in it. Either one or the other would have added a nice fruity note (i would vote for the apples, because of the added tart note), but with both, it had too much sweetness for me. Neutral: I would have liked a more pronounced curry flavor, but I know many would like it as it was, more subtle Verdict: I would like to go back for a big breakfast sometime. I don't think it's that great a lunch option for me. read more

Soooo good!! This place has the feel of an old fashioned family diner! Don't let that fool you though, because the food is fabulous! I had perfect bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns that were crispy and fully cooked, and the sourdough toast was delectable! Lunches are amazing too! The crab panini was full of melty hot cheese! If you go early and the waves are high you can sometimes get a great seat to watch the tourists get splashed! Everyone cheers! There is always a pitcher of icy water with lemon on the table and they bring you your own pot of coffee! This place is a winner! Now I'm hungry.
