Breakfast Club - All of this delicious food was only $5!!!! - American Near Me - Ocoee, Florida

Before writing an honest review, I typically like to have visited an establishment a couple of times. Our first visit a month or so ago was great. The food was tasty and priced right, service was ok (not super fast, but decent) and told ourselves we'd come back again. My husband and his brother dined here a couple of weeks ago on a busy Saturday afternoon and enjoyed their meal; again service was ok (the egg was forgotten on the BLT egg sandwich). Fast forward to this past Friday; husband and I go for a late lunch; around 1:00. Place is busy as usual. Sit for about 10 minutes and no service; server finally acknowledges us, asks if we have been helped (nope) and proceeds to take our drink order. She brings us our drinks and tells us she's got another table to attend to and would be back momentarily. Fast forward another 10 minutes and no sign of the server. Husband eventually sees her up at the counter counting the cash in her apron. At this point, we've sat far too long without an order being taken and we decide to leave. We walk out the door and another server comes out after us and asks whats wrong and that she could assist us. Not to mention the issue of flies in the restaurant. There was a persistent fly hovering around our table. Doesn't add to the experience. We won't be returning. read more

Went twice on a recent visit to Ocoee. Had a nice breakie both times but..........they need a gimmick. I'm thinking a full pot of coffee on each table. The customer would still pay for one cup but after that free refills would be poured "self sevice" The coffee could be served in thermal carafes, reglar or decaf. Located at each table. Another nice touch would be alchohol. It doesn't have to be a full bar but a limited selection of adult breakfast beverages..........Mimosa, Screwdriver, Bloody Mary etc. When I hear "Breakfast Club" it must deliver that extra touch. read more

When we walked in I was surprised how large the restaurant was. Everyone is super friendly and cares about making sure your meal is great. Even te owner walks up to you to talk to you. It's a place where the owner actually ends up knowing your name and welcomes you by name. Now to the food. We ordered the hungry man and chicken crepes. The portion sizes are large so you may be taking home food. Overall the food was great and piping hot when we got it. Make sure to get the seasoned home fries. read more

Walking in was like a time warp to the 1970s. Think grade school cafeteria as a comparable vision. Place was 75% empty at noon. Service was slow, portions were good, taste was fair. Worst cheeseburger I have ever eaten, poor quality ground beef, terrible bun, iceburg lettuce wilted, and I call line flow French fries. Only three tables for lunch. Server was friendly but not attentive. I would avoid this establishment. Owner obviously shops for the lowest prices. The old saying is true "you pay for what you get". My family and I go here on Saturdays for breakfast and we usually have great food and exceptional service, of course there have been times when neither was the case. Two weeks ago, my hubby and I decided to try their dinner menu to go. He got the fried catfish and I got their liver and onions. The food was absolutely delicious. The catfish looked amazing, nice golden color, it was seasoned perfectly and very crispy. This past Wednesday we decided to pick up dinner to go again. Of course my hubby ordered the catfish again and I decided to try the fish basket. The food was HORRIBLE! The fries were stale and the fish was NASTY. There was little to no seasoning on it, it was soggy instead of crispy and the color was just unappealing. Almost $20 down the drain. This place is a hot mess. You stumble inside and have no idea what to do. Sure, there are tables, but there's no podium, no hostess stand, no sign with an arrow. Not even a take-a-number. Nada. You have to Fight Club it out with whoever appears to be getting up from their seat .... which takes me to the next problem. No one is getting up out of their seat. Why? It's 10 am don't you have somewhere else to be so I can feed my family and move on with my day? No. And because...well because no one is getting served FOOD. It's 10:30 am, the house is nearly packed, and 1 table is actually enjoying the pictures of fluffy pancakes and perfect waffles you see the owners blasting on their website and social media. Okay, I take it back ... one person got up ... but then THIS happened: He kind of stormed across the dining area and found a waitress who looked like she did an 8ball in between serving orange juice and apologies, and he yells "DAMN GIRL IT'S BEEN A HALF AND HOUR!" Mind you, I have a small child with me. She only wants her Mickey Mouse pancakes, okay? This isn't a dinner show of theatrics. It's Ocoee Florida and scrambled eggs. And really bad lemonade. At least that's what my husband was told by our Wolf of Wall Street waitress after he tried to order a glass. Points for honesty? Moving along ... We waited .... and waited.... We watched other people complain. We watched the wrong food being brought to tables and sent back. We watched waitresses apologize nonstop for all of us waiting. We finally wondered why the hell we were still in the Breakfast Club with no breakfast as it edged the 12 O'clock hour. 90 minutes after we awkwardly sat ourselves at a sticky table. We got up. This was my first experience at the Breakfast Club of Ocoee. Casual American breakfast diner; clean, spacious, and the wait staff seemed very nice. If you let them, they'll keep your coffee cup full! The food was genuinely good, not greasy, prepared to order. For breakfast out, it was very respectable. The prices seemed appropriate as well. I ordered two eggs over-easy, with grits and bacon; and the price was $5.50. And as always; A+ for leaving my SD alone, and the floor was clean. read more

Visited only once and will not visit ever again! The service was not good due to long wait for a server to greet us - at least 15 minutes and the place was only half empty and there was no shortage of staff. After our drink order was taken, we waited even longer to receive our drinks (a good 30 minutes) and put in our food order. The food took even longer than prior wait times. There were countless flies everywhere (15+ disgusting!!!) which makes me wonder how they are even open, serious health department issue! Stayed even though we were pretty grossed out because I was recommended the place and I was hoping maybe the food would compensate for the poor experience. I go hear quite frequently and it's my favorite breakfast place to go!! Always get the Indian eggs which are the best, they serve you a lot and the food is always great! The staff are very friendly and the owner always makes it a point the come out and ask everyone how they are doing! The own even gave us breakfast for free just for waiting a little long one time in which we were in no way were we angry about or fussing cause we had to wait. Just had the most fun breakfast here. It was my first visit. They had just lost the gas line and were able to cook up my omlette in the nick of time. Owner and waitress were great and fun even though they couldn't make any more food until gas line was fixed (which happened 20 mins later). Everyone had a good time. My roommate and I eat at this location 2-3 times a week and tonight was our best experience.. The restaurant was very clean and our waitress ms precious was very great at getting our drink's and was very knowledgeable about the menu very friendly and wonderful smile..she is a very good server. Our meals the chicken quesadilla and onion rings and my roommate got his usual Philly steak with well done hash browns and the cook did amazing! our food was just how we asked for it! Great job! After just recently moving to the area I saw this place & since I'm all about supporting local businesses I thought I'd give it a try. When we walked in it was pretty busy, which is a good sign, but there's nobody to greet you or even a sign with instruction as to whether we seat ourselves or should wait to be seated, so we had to interrupt one of the waitresses. Once we sat down we were approached by our waitress, who was new, but very nice. We ordered orange juice & chocolate milk. We liked neither one, the orange tasted so artificially flavored, it was like Hi-c or something & the chocolate milk was served as white milk with a little bit of chocolate syrup at the bottom, I mean not even enough to turn the milk brown once it was stirred. I sent my juice back because I expected to get actual juice, not Kool-aid, instead, I asked for a sweet tea. Now I'm from the south & like my tea sweet, but dang! This tea was like drinking straight syrup, I had to water it down myself. So after placing our food order we waited for over 30min to be told that our food was taking so long because the kitchen wanted to serve the large party first & now they were going to start on our food. That didn't really make sense to me, I would think that they would get the smaller party out of the way first but either way a customer shouldn't be told that's why their food is taking so long. It makes you feel devalued because you're a smaller party, or maybe it's because we didn't have on Wrangler jeans. We decided at that point it was time for us to go, we were hungry & tired of waiting. We ended up at Perkins & what's really funny is that while we were waiting to be seated I saw a familiar face. Another family from the same restaurant who decided they had also been waiting too long & left. She told me that her family sat at their table for almost 15 minutes with absolutely no service. So if you aren't really that hungry, have plenty of time to wait, & are wearing Wrangler jeans this just might be the place for you! read more

We went here because of the reviews... and we're horribly disappointed and we love going to diners. I ordered to items that are no longer on the menu even though it was still on the menu. So then I ordered the pork chops that said juicy and they were as dry as can be... and no flavor. The water tasted bad. I am allergic to eggs and don't eat potatoes and said no to the toast... asked to replace with a side salad... and said it would be an up charge of $1. No problem. My husband's Reuben was not impressive... and the French fries tasted like fish. I ordered water and my husband had tea. When we got the bill, they charged us for two teas and $2.50 upcharge for a salad (when I declined the two eggs, hash browns, and toast that came with the meal. Salad was worse than one from a fast food... and the brought a wish bone Italian dressing to the table that was very sticky. The salt pepper condiment holder was P.A. led so tight it was hard to get anything out and everything in that was just as sticky... like it's not been cleaned in a very long time. It was noisy with all of the dishes. We lover diners but would say, save your money and go to one the fast food restaurants near this place. And we drove 30 minutes to try this place out. read more

My hubby, daughter, and I live down the rd from this restaurant and decided to stop in today. Upon entering, we were promptly greeted and requested a booth which was cleared and made available to us very quickly. I ordered the club skillet, my hubby got the "hungry man" and our little one got the Mickey Mouse pancake and bacon. Our food came out in like ten mins! It was plated very nicely with very generous portions. I couldn't finish all of my skillet but it was delicious. The Mickey pancake was as big as the plate it came on, and our server suggested that next time our daughter try it with chocolate chips which of course is an awesome idea for a 6 yr old . My hubby was the only one who cleared his plate, he def was a hungry man lol. This place is very nice and clean and appears to stay busy but not overly crowded. We will def be coming back! We have eaten here two times. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. I had a two egg omelet with bacon and sausage. The bacon tasted like bacon and the sausage tasted like sausage! Wife had the eggs Benedict. Very good. The only negative was the potatoes. Could have used some seasoning. For our dinner I had the Ruben sandwich and it was excellent! Wife had the fried shrimp. They were the frozen type but still good. Staff was very friendly. One took an interest when seeing us using sign language. Definitely will be patronizing this place from now on! read more
