We noticed that this place recently opened up and we just had to try it! I'm always iffy about ordering breakfast foods for delivery, but the rona gave us no choice. First off, it was VERY fresh. It was still steaming, the toast was crunchy and not soggy, and just the over all quality of the food was a solid 10. I'm not sure if it was because we live decently close, so the delivery time was not long, but it was delicious! My girlfriend gets hangry like no other, so we initially had a different breakfast place in mind because we know the food is good. But scrolling through different options, she came across breakfast house and wanted to try it because the pictures looked so good lol. So my instinct was to become scared, because if the food turns out bad, satan makes an appearance. But god was on my side today! We will definitely be ordering from here more often, and anyone reading this should as well! P.s. they have good iced coffee!! Big win in my book! read more

I'm updating my review because my experience with Breakfast House has been really hot and cold. While they do make delicious french toast. Today they no-showed on an order and when I tried to call I was hung up twice once by a man and then by a woman. It was really disappointing. Also some of their lunch items are really odd such as the tuna melt that is open face that had a non melted slice of cheese I think it's an okay place to order from just avoid the tuna melt and don't order on weekends as they can't deliver. We were seated outside under the umbrellas and it was very comfortable. Servers were timely with any questions we had, or anything else we needed. Food was prepared fresh and very full of flavor, and everything was what we could've asked for. Was very nice walking in but once we sat down there were so many flies which was the first red flag even though we were seated indoors. The coffee was okay, not as great as people say. The food came and I had ordered the steak and eggs, my steak overcooked even though I asked for medium, so I had it sent back. My boyfriend had the chilaquiles which was actually delicious. Once my food arrived there was a huge cut through my steak, probably cooks cut it to make sure it was medium. it was hard to eat in peace due to the flies that kept getting in our face. Celebrating our anniversary today at our favorite breakfast/lunch restaurant! The food did not disappoint! I had the salmon patty special and my husband had the breakfast house burger. I usually have the salmon Benedict which is delicious but decided to try the special for a change. Well the food was so tasty! The service was just perfect- friendly , prompt and so accommodating. Understandably they are busy, and they have probably not really ironed out the kinks with their service & wait times. I have ordered food here a few times for carryout with mixed results. The food is good, that's not really the concern in this review. I was once quoted a 25 minute time frame to come pick up an order and it was close to 45 minutes by the time I left. Again, these things happen and generally this food is pretty good so I didn't write them off. However, today was perhaps the last straw. We were seated on the patio upon arriving because the inside was full. It felt warm enough in the sun so we went for it. The server left a drink list and we literally didn't see her again for 30 minutes. There were 4 other tables of people there, 2 of the others hadn't ordered yet. One guy had to get up to tell them to please collect payment. More time passed after that table settled their bill. A different waitress then came out and started tending to the table next to us, who were there longer and also hadn't ordered food. She said something like "sorry, they just told me I had ONE table out here". Generally I'd have flagged her down and tried to order but we decided to leave instead. Cafe gastronomo is right around the corner and serves breakfast food (and other Mexican fare and pizza) that in most likely the best in the whole area out of a walk up window. We ended up getting carry out there instead so it worked out. A word of advise for breakfast house- instead of expanding to more locations, maybe try to dial in the locations you are currently operating. I think you need more wait staff, or you need to seat fewer tables. This is a good neighborhood for a restaurant to do well in (look at Eris next door), but word will travel quickly it you guys can't iron out some of the service issues. I do look forward to coming back someday, but am not in any hurry after today's experience. read more

The Breakfast House in Old Irving Park was great! We opted to eat outside in their patio. Our server and waitstaff were very attentive. Our food came out quick and hot considering that they were busy. My wife ordered the corn cakes with eggs , and I had an egg white omelette with a pancake. Food was very good. Just ordered lunch from here and it was delicious! I'm so happy they opened up this location. I used to frequent the one over in West Town and I never had a bad meal there. Got the chicken and waffles and whatever brine they used sure does flavor the chicken nicely. I live across the street and Will be a repeat customer, that's for sure! This place is ah-mazing! We had brunch, the supreme chorizo hash and steak and eggs. Both were so good, food was fresh, servers were polite and accommodating. We saw them clean the seating area right after people left a table. The mimosas were green for St. Paddy's, how fun! It was a great experience. My review is for the Harlem location. Wife and kids decided to try this place out. Wire ordered her Chilaquiles. While I ordered 2 eggs and meat and basically ordered all the meats, I opted for chorizo to be scrambled with my eggs. Our food comes and wife's looked delicious, mines came out there was an issue. My eggs and chorizo were not scrambled together. The chorizo actually looked like extremely smaller pieces than bacon bits it actually looked like dust. Manager came and told me that's how chorizo and eggs are made, lmao. Sorry but chorizo shouldn't be sprinkled on my eggs. Breakfast potatoes not cooked properly. After my kids and wife ate their food went to a local grocery store. Not even 10 minutes after we left this establishment I was asking my wife if we can go home due to the fact that her stomach was upset. I don't know if the cook didn't know what he was doing was having a bad day but I do not recommend this restaurant. They are lucky they are even getting one star, definitely does not need a star and I don't plan on stepping foot into this establishment. read more

We've been going to the Breakfast House for years and are soooo glad they opened in our neighborhood! Welcome!! The Diablo Sandwich is amazing. My non foody fiancé said it's one of the best sandwiches he's ever had. The chorizo hash is better than the andouille for sure and is absolutely delicious. They made excellent breakfast beverages. Wish they had soda on tap and didn't charge by the can but I get it. Slightly more expensive than some breakfast places but totally worth it! A disappointing experience. Ordered the challah french toast and that was ok, but the rest was awful. The salad that came with the other order, you could tell the greens were starting to go bad and they still used them. Same with the fruit it didn't look fresh.
