I ordered through Seamless and for some reason I wasn't able to see that my order was ready for pickup. Wow. I have been to two other highly rated restaurants and left disappointed. Saw this place from the EL and decided to try. It is now my Go-To breakfast place when I will be in Chicago. The food fresh. The chipotle sauce (house made) was on point. I sat outside and appreciated the city noise. The BLT Benedict was so scrumptious. The sautéed spinach was Just barely wilted, the avocado was perfectly ripe and the chopped up the bacon in bite sized pieces. The muffin maybe could have been toasted more, but the nook and crannies soaked up the suck and egg yolk perfectly. The potatoes were a splurge for me (I normally get fruit) but the where crunchy outside, soft inside. No complaints. Service was just what I expect. I shall be back tomorrow. My girlfriend and I walked in right around 3:00pm. completely unaware that this was their closing hour. We were never asked to leave or told that they were closing soon. THATS how good they are. The quality of food and customer service for our lack of paying attention to business hours was extremely kind and we felt horrible after leaving the building almost half an hour later. We've only been here once before and both times have been the best customer service and food we've seen. Latinx family business that has sparks of succession as this is one of five of their Breakfast House locations that are within the city limits. This was very much a cozy dining experience! We were promptly seated in a relatively quaint dining area (it's a Wednesday morning; no surprise on the volume of guests) and our orders were taken quite promptly as well. Their breakfast burrito caught my attention, and as it was presented to me I immediately noticed that it would not be the easiest thing to eat in the most traditional way. The burrito was covered in sauce (purposefully of course) with a nice drizzle of sour cream on top of that. No problem, I got me a fork n knife. Anyways, the burrito was large and very filling. The sauce provided was a nice compliment to the fillings of the burrito itself. As a side you have an option of either potatoes or a side of fruit. All was brought out in a wonderful display and the service we got was nothing short of spectacular. Here we got an ideal breakfast brunch hangout spot for friends, family and everything in between. The ambiance is very relaxing and slow paced, with some engaging tunes playing in the restaurant (appreciated the Deadmau5 track one of the workers played this morning) as I indulged in my meal. The Breakfast House easily tells us why it has become so successful in such a short amount of time, expanding their enterprise all through the north and northwest side of the city. Love to see a wholesome resturant and family flourish as smoothly as they can especially during these especially difficult times in the servicing industry. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that our waiter had no personality and did not exchange any pleasantries or small talk. Other plates that come out of the kitchen looked great. The Chilaquilles looked really good and I might go for those or the Eggs Benedict next time. Service was decent. Only a few tables were occupied. It was obvious they were expecting more very soon and it did start to trickle in as I was leaving. Servers were kind and helpful. Food came out quickly and hot, except toast. Did not come with my order and was late and cold. Also was only one slice. Only annoyance to an otherwise really good breakfast. The Breakfast House location we visited is a smaller place on a corner near Wrigleyville. It can get pretty packed here on weekends but we were able to get a table quickly at noon on a Saturday. The three egg omelette is surprisingly large and comes with both potatoes and pancakes or toast. While my normal place for breakfast offers bigger portions and three pancakes for the same price, I like that the portion sizes here are a little less, as it keeps you from overeating. It's also BYOB which is great and keeps the cost down. It takes a while to get your food after you order but it's worth the wait. read more
