We were on the opposite side of town looking to have some breakfast. I remembered that breakfast palace was right around the corner from where we were at so we decided to stop and get some breakfast/lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately! We had water brought to our table. We had our tea and our juice. Our breakfast came shortly after or green. I ordered a French dip know normally when I go out to places in order French dip they always ask if you would like cheese and mushrooms for your French dip well, this time I didn't get asked that and normally I would say no to the cheese as I am lactose intolerant so of course I sent the sandwich back and asked if they could just send it without the mushrooms and cheese, and I would just take it home with me. Well they hooked me up with another sandwich now I felt or I feel that they put mushrooms in the meat in order to make it more hearty, so needless to say, there was more mushrooms than meat on my sandwich. No cheese, though our server was really nice. It was a very chill environment. TVs gone with different games on people talking just having a really good time. I was disappointed in my sandwich, but we will definitely try it again. Thanks For The Read Until Next Time......

Looking for a solid diner with typical diner fare without any frills? This would be your place. We had the breakfast skillet (basic with bacon and a basic with ham), which came with toast and hash browns, with a side of gravy. The skillets were good sized portions (enough for a box for me), came out in about 10 minutes, were hot, and were perfectly satisfactory. Nothing fancy or spectacular, but we weren't disappointed. The gravy was super bland and from a can, I'm sure. But again, it was satisfactory. I do wish they'd let you butter your own toast, vs a splat of butter in the middle that doesn't go to the edges (ok, I'm being a little nit picky there). The ambiance was that of a typical diner: not exactly super clean (ceilings and walls were overdue for a good scrub; tables/utensils/important stuff were clean), very busy staff, tons of what appear to be locals, pay at the counter. No frills, but good enough. Prices were a wee bit more than I'm used to (I'm from St. Louis, and Denver is just more expensive, period), but not exorbitant. Service was very good. They were super busy, but we never waited for anything. Everyone was friendly. So, if you're not looking for anything fancy, just a good, solid breakfast, check this place out. We would definitely return.

Amazing staff. Every one was super nice, helpful and knew their stuff. Food is your normal breakfast food, which love. I sometimes just want a mound of good old fashioned hash browns. This does not disappoint. It's all tables set up in two rooms. Very comfortable, and the tables are spread out perfectly. I really want to come back to try their lunch specials!

This place won the cheapest good eats award! It is very diner menu and it has a couple healthy options! The ladies that work here are super sweet and hospitable! Definitely ask for your hash browns to be crispier but other then that it is amazing! They also have a cash register that's vintage so that was cool to see! Support the locals and definitely dine in here!

Good, quick breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were on point. Bacon, hash browns, coffee. Simple and good.

This hit the spot! I was really craving chicken fried steak, so my partner came across Breakfast Palace in their search. The restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall that's unassuming, down-to-earth, and not the sort of exterior that makes you think their food would be very good. But the food is delicious for what it is: hearty breakfast/diner food for a great value! My chicken fried steak was absolutely smothered with country gravy, which is my personal preference, but people who don't appreciate their meat drowning in gravy should probably note that. My partner's French toast and breakfast plate was fairly standard breakfast food but satisfying. They have specials running Monday-Fri, the food is on the affordable end, and service was friendly and attentive. There is a lot of space for bigger groups and families, and the tables are well spread out. I'll likely come back here whenever I'm craving some good chicken fried steak. Parking: they have their own lot.

Just don't. Everything was unseasoned, overcooked, mushy, and rubbery. The cooks messed up our entire order. The bread was burnt and stale. At least my dog liked his meal.

The food is bland is mainly not what is should be but it is what it is now. This food has no flavor at all!!!! I've tried this place 2 days in a row to give it a chance but the answer is nope unless you enjoy unflavored food and unflavored gravy for biscuits and gravy. I'm sure we as the ones who enjoy flavored food know how this restaurant got so many stars. How could you overcook Spanish rice no way only thing that has somewhat flavor was the beans but I'm sure they came from a can.

Morning Monte Cristo: French toast layered with cheese, choice protein, two eggs any style, strawberry compote, and hash browns on the side.

First and foremost, this is a breakfast place. It says so on the signs. Not brunch, not surf and turf dinner. Not papusas. Like any place in Denver, though, you will find gyro and souvlaki breakfast combos, though! Second, they do good ole American breakfast well. Eggs any style, waffle, and ham or bacon or sausage? Check! Pancakes instead? Check! French toast? Check! I've been here several times over the years and the prices are always great and where they need to be for breakfast. If you're tired of crazy lines, wait lists, super sweet confections, attitudes, and just want some perfectly made over medium eggs, then come on by. This hole in the wall ain't pretty or frufru or earning their dime off of decor. This joint delivers the goods without drama or flair and that's fine by me. The friendly and efficient waitstaff are the icing on the cake.

The aesthetic is absolutely perfect because it feels both classy and comfortable at the same time. Our table was ready to go well ahead of our arrival which made the start of our meal very smooth. The food was a major highlight of the experience. The Brie and Bacon toast was delicious and you really cannot beat their bottomless mimosas for a celebratory morning. We did run into a bit of a strange interaction regarding an iced tea order. One friend asked for iced tea and was told twice that they did not serve it, so she settled for a zero proof mixed drink. However, when the rest of our party arrived and someone else ordered an iced tea, the server took the order immediately. When we asked for clarification, he mentioned he was simply confused by the initial question. It was a bit of an awkward start, but my friend eventually got her tea. I guess our takeaway is to be more specific about what we mean by iced tea. Later in the meal, our server cashed us out because his shift was ending. We were still eating and finishing our drinks, and unfortunately, we were not introduced to a new server to take over. This meant we had to walk back and forth to the bar ourselves for refills or any additional orders. Aside from those specific moments, the server was actually very efficient and kind, and the rest of the staff was wonderful and accommodating. The overall quality of the food and the beautiful environment mean we will definitely make our way back in the future.

We had large group of 10 people, which they accommodated easily without any crowding of our party or other tables. The front desk was very efficient with getting us seated, including directing others to our table they arrived. The initial table service was quick and efficient, however after the orders were taken, the service lagged considerably. Follow-up visits by our server were lacking and numerous times had to literally flag down our server for any drink refills, to-go boxes and our checks. As far as food is concerned, all the lunch meals looked fresh and delicious as they were being served. However, the Fish and Chips I ordered turned out to disappointing, due to the fish seem to have been steamed at some point and had a mushy texture rather than the firmness of a nice filet of fish. The chips served were very good, with nice crisp outside, which also was the case for the light tempura-like batter on the outside of the fish. I must admit the Reuben sandwich that another ordered looked amazing. Overall, the location of Penn Street is convenient and with the accessibility of the parking garage (Penn Street validates the 1st 2-hours of parking), is a very nice place to meet for lunch. Even with the service and my lunch meal, I would return, as all restaurants have off days of service or food, and many of the other dishes ordered looked great. Tips for your visit: If you have a large party, they use Open Table for reservations and accommodate us with separate checks. If you like people watching, ask for table by the window.

Not only are they clean, but they are also quick. I needed some protein to get my mid to late afternoon going. My go-to here is Shroomami but the Caramelized Garlic Steak (pictured on the menu up above) grabbed my undue attention so I went with it. A bit too salty to my liking but overall, it was a really good dish. All of my favorite such as sweet potatoes, stir-fried broccoli and cherry tomatoes are all over the plate. I asked the lady to sprinkle the crispy onion to enhance the whole taste of it. I also asked the sauce to be on the side so I can dip some of the steak pieces in it whenever I would want to. This plate itself is $16.35 which is reasonable for the size. They charged me $0.50 for the onion topping as this is/was outside of the dish's description; no worries on that. This dish is now my second go-to at Sweetgreen. I can't wait to try other dishes. Next time, I will probably go with the chicken one. Looking forward to it!
