The underground feel gives a change of pace for a burger experience. Great service! Welcoming and friendly. Walk up to the window and place your order. Like the new addition of bar seating to enjoy the alley ambiance. Look for the umbrellas right in downtown. The murals will guide you. Smash burger was great! A perfect bite for a quick stop to continue along your journey. Spicy is pretty spicy! Loved it. Street parking just around the corner or parking garage across the street.

Been here a handful of times now and I'm ready to give 3 stars. They're located in the umbrella alley, tucked away to the side. You walk up and ring the bell to order at a small window. There is a line of small counters with seats leading up to the window. No problem with the staff, they're nice and helpful. The chicken sandwiches are pretty good. What leaves me at 3 stars is the burgers themselves. It's a burger place, and one could deduce that the burgers are going to be good. I found that I hate the burgers (pun intended). I'm not sure if it's the meat, or the sauce, but one or the other has an odd taste. The lettuce gets soggy immediately too. 3 stars for OK, and I'm only going back for chicken sandwiches.

What a memorable day with my kids as we stumbled upon this place by accident while walking down an umbrella alley in downtown Redlands. First of all the colors and art on the building where Hate Burger was found was eye catching to say the least, come on, when you see a skull eating burgers and French fries with snakes, it certainly arrests your attention. We ordered two burgers: the vegan spicy chicken burger and the smash burger. The vegan spicy chicken burger was good but too spicy, and not the good kind of spice...more like hot wings type of spicy which was too strong and over powering maybe next time we'll do without the spicy and get the regular. But the real winner was the smash burger, it was so vegan cheesy good! My kids and I loved it. Kinda pricey but the smashburger was a good deal for $7 compared to the chicken burger which was more. It was outside dining only, given that it was a hot day didn't help, but the girl at the counter gave us cool water which helped, especially after that spicy chicken burger. I'll definitely come back for the smashburger again and in the meantime this is me smashing a like on this review.

Okay so this spicy chicken sandwich is so delicious! I love the combination of all the flavors! Plus, the chicken tastes so fresh and the batter is perfectly fried, not too crunchy, not too soggy. The fries were just okay. Their customer service was so friendly and prompt. And they give free soda refills which is great! Especially if you're out waiting for your food. However, it was a little tricky to find the place. Once you see the alley of umbrellas, you know you've made it. That alley is where you'll find the entrance. Oh and only outdoor seating. Ps... I'm a big foodie but even I couldn't finish this sandwich lol so you might be good sharing

There's no hate for Hate Burger only love! This is a hidden gem! There is parking nearby but it is best to park at the public garage on Citrus Ave. I came on a Wednesday afternoon around 1pm and there wasn't parking on the street. The public parking is very close and an easy walk. Hate burger is in the 5th street alley. It is so fun and Instagram worthy to come and take a Pic of the umbrellas. I ordered online. It was easy. There's only outdoor seating. It's not a place for groups. It's a great place for take out. There's only a window to order and pick up. My food was cooked and ready in about 10 minutes. They weren't busy. The was one person ahead of me. I got the vegan smash burger. It was one of the best vegan burgers I've ever had. The bun was toasted and crispy. The. Burger tasted like the real thing. The caramelized onions were so good. I really enjoyed the burger 5/5. The chicken burger also was good. The chicken was big and juicy! I wished only that the breading was crisper. Everything was hot and made fresh. 4/5 Service was great. Very helpful. The manager suggested the bbq sauce would go well with the chicken. She was so right. The 2 together were great. I really liked this place and I don't know why they're not busier except that my 2 burgers were $30. Next time, I want to try their real smash burger! I bet it would be good.

I just was used to walk by this burger joint cause the name says HATE burger so I was just wasn't sure about trying it. This burger has been highly recommended by a co-worker/ friend that she even bought me one to taste. Well I wasn't disappointed. The NV CHEESEBURGER $15, was humongous and large and beef patty was thick and juicy. I just finished half of it and saved the other half for later.

NV Chicken Sandwich - Spicy, Small Fries, Vanilla NV Shake

Finally decided to try this place after walking by a million times. We got the spicy chicken sandwich ($16), Cajun fries ($4), and a regular vanilla milkshake ($9). Really wanted to like this place, kind cashier& service, huge complimentary water cups on a hot day, but that's the best I can say. Spicy Chicken - 3/10: The spicy chicken sandwich ($16) was smaller and more expensive than other local hot chicken sandwiches (Cluck Chicken $15), even compared to downtown LA prices (Howlin' Rays $14). Hate Burgers was not as good in flavor complexity (spicy without as much umami) or texture (soggy chicken, not toasted bun, plain coleslaw in the sandwich). The spicy chicken is also definitely more a medium than mild spice level - wish they offered different spicy levels like most chicken places. Cajun Fries - 1/10: Soggy, lukewarm, fries that while had good seasoning was wasted by the fact that they were definitely not fresh off the fryer Regular Milkshake - 2/10: You know that freezer burn icicle texture you get on ice cream when it's left in the freezer? Somehow that made it into this milkshake and once every few sips were disappointing due to that weird occasional icicle texture. Also it's $9 when In N Out does it better for half the price. Food took about 15-20 minutes to come out with 1 in person / 2 online orders ahead of us, which felt reasonable. Disappointed and probably won't be back. See photos for updated menu pricing. There is seating /table now, but it's only outdoors.

Pretty good burger joint located in the Orange Street Alley under the umbrellas. Look for the red brick building and giant skull artwork. You walk up to the window and order your food. One con is that there is no seating so we had grab it to go and sit somewhere else. There is a small counter in front of the window if you do want to stand and eat. The food took around 15 mins to come out. The cheeseburger was juicy, veggies were fresh, and the bun was nicely toasted. I do wish the patty had a tiny bit more salt or seasoning but overall it was still good. The Cajun fries were hot and crispy. The Cajun seasoning was really good and had a little kick to it.

Such a little gem. I already love downtown Redlands, so when you find a good off the beaten path place its a treat. Was a Thursday. One employee took our order & cooked our food. About 15 minute wait. And it was definitely worth the wait. Meat & if you absolutely need it Vegan option for your burgers or chicken. Definitely 10 out of 10 recommend.

Hate Burger is located in an alleyway (search for the colored umbrellas) in Redlands, CA. I love the graphic wall displayed - it is bright red with a skull and French fries, so you'll know it's Hate Burger as soon as you see it ! You'll also hear rock music playing (Metallica was playing when I walked up). The con would be that there is no seating here. It is a walk up burger stand but you have to take it to go so just be aware of that. I tried a variety of items; chicken sandwich with hate sauce, cheeseburger with grilled onions, fries, chocolate shake and vegan cookies and cream shake. The food was overall very tasty ! The cheeseburger was great, the chicken sandwich needed a bit of salt in the batter but I ordered the hate sauce and it was DELICIOUS! I hope they bottle it one day, it's that good and gave the sandwich the kick I was looking for! The chocolate milkshake was thick and the vegan cookies and cream had a thinner consistency but didn't lack in flavor ! The fries were crispy and salty , I didn't use any condiments to dip them in because I enjoyed the taste so much ! Service was friendly (shoutout to Mac) and it took about 20 minutes for our food. I'd definitely come back again for a to go burger ! Follow me on my Instagram foodie pages @ guacdirtytome_ or @ inlandempirefoodies !

Love the vegan cheese burger, the vegan chicken sandwich is sooooo good! The fries are good but sometime they're super greasy.

Ask the Community - Hate Burger

Can you call in an order?

No but you can place your order online at www.hateburgers.com

    Vegan cheese too?

Yes - when you order the vegan cheeseburger it automatically comes with vegan cheese.

I've seen closing is at 9 and 11, what are their hours as of today?

Open 11am-11pm every day of the week

Is the peanut oil 100% refined oil or just standard peanut oil? People with peanut allergies can eat 100% refined oil due to the protein that causes the reaction is phased out. This is not the case with standard peanut oil. What does this place use?

I'm pretty sure the customers wouldn't know this. Your best bet would be calling in and asking them

Do they have a phone number to call in orders?

No I asked the question today. They don't do any phone orders

Is there a gluten free bun option (other than lettuce wrap)?

    Not at this time

What is the seating arrangement like? Outside? Indoors? Or plain take out?

    Just plain ol' take out!!

Hi is the spicy honey reg versions mean the sauce added on top of chicken patty? Or is the breading different? Thanks and what's the hate sauce?

Spicy honey is hate sauce (spicy) and honey drizzled on top. Hate sauce is a habanero sauce that makes their sandwiches spicy

Anyone know what the vegan options are made out of? I have a soy allergy.

Burger patty is Impossible. Still trying to find out what chicken is.

Love to try it but the workers don't wear masks. I support local but I can't support this one. What's the plan Hate Burger?

I went Friday night everyone had a mask. I went again today the cashier had her mask half assed them when I picked up she didn't have it on at all. Smh. I probably won't go there again either for awhile

Do you guys cook the vegan options on a separate grill than the meat options?

Yes, they have a separate grill and fryer for vegan options.

Stopped by today with my little ones. Delicious burgers and pretty good service :)…read more Wish they had more kids options though.

Was excited to check out the new location, so I invited some friends and we went…read more First, park in the structure; otherwise it's $6/hour. Awful. I thought maybe the food would have improved, but sadly, it didn't. I ordered a lavender tea because I used to love it. Not anymore. It's bitter (the bags steeped for too long), and they changed their recipe to now not include sugar (or maybe it was simple syrup? I don't know, but it's gone). So there was that $6 drink. Then, because I'm vegetarian, I swapped out the barbecue bacon burger for a veggie patty and hold the bacon ($20). Well, they also managed to hold the barbecue sauce and the flavor. The whole thing was tasteless -- even the barbecue sauce AND the fried onions. I don't know how that could have been. Two of the most distinct flavorings with zero flavor. Mind blowing. I wasn't surprised about the veggie patty because it's never been good. Highly recommend switching to Impossible. I upgraded the fries to onion rings, so + $3 -- they were decent. So all in all, $35 plus tax and tip for one person and the food tastes like that??? Hard pass. Also, no on the parking fee. That sucked. I will say, the waiter knew it was not a good experience and proactively gave a $10 gift card. It was a very kind and appreciated gesture, but I should have requested the burger be removed altogether from the bill; it was that bad. I didn't finish it. The new place is nice. My friends, who are not vegetarian, liked their meals and beer. So I think it's just not for vegetarians. Or maybe just not for me. ‍
