My husband ordered the coffee crusted pork belly benedict - poached eggs, english muffin, béarnaise, hash browns - the pork belly was delicious! Our friends who are vegetarians ordered the old faithful - eggs, house made peppered bacon or choice of sausages, hash browns, toast -- but were able to substitute bacon with slice of avocado. This was mine and my boyfriend's first stop when arriving in Vancouver and let me just tell you this place is super good. The service is amazing and they have great personal customer service. The food is exceptional and the restaurant itself is just cute and quaint. I got the hipster Benedict and my boyfriend got the hangover plate with vanilla bean waffles. The vanilla bean waffles were my favorite part of the food. My plate had a variety of veggies just like I wanted. From broccoli to some sort of potato and carrots. Oh hello, brunch! I'm not sure if there would ever be a greater meal than brunch and I was delighted when I was finally able to try Breakfast Table. Let me tell you the journey I had gone through to try this spot. When this restaurant first opened, I tried going one Sunday morning, but was intimidated by the hefty lineup (I can't wait for an hour when I'm hangry!) and gave up and went for dim sum next door instead. Fast forward a couple months and I tried going again but was faced with another hour long lineup so I went to Earl's instead to have their brunch special. Then today, a miracle happened. I went to Breakfast Table at 11am and was seated right away, and I now know why this place has a permanent line up on the weekends. There are so many wonderful choices on the menu, traditional egg benedicts, and Asian fusion brunch dishes and a good selection of sweet items and salad. I ended up ordering the bulgogi hash with poached eggs. I loved the combination of spicy Korean flavour with beautifully roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The seasonal vegetables served with this dish were roasted corn on the cob, rutabaga, sautéed mushrooms, spinach and carrots. They serve Milano coffee at Breakfast Table, btw. My partner ordered the chicken cobb salad and in his words: "It was delicious! Good value at $15 with half an avocado, sautéed mushroom and skin-on chicken breast that was cooked perfectly. 5/5 drool emojis". There you go, we both agree that the food is fantastic and finished everything on our plates. Okay I skipped the carrot actually but that's just me. Excellent food and friendly service! With a small appetite, my husband and I ordered the popular Coffee Crusted Pork Belly Benedict and the Challah French Toast to share between us. When the food arrived, we were impressed by its huge portions. The benny was perfectly done with the eggs made just right according to our preference. What a solid place for breakfast/brunch! If you're on the fence, just do it. You won't be disappointed. I came here around 1pm on a Friday and there was no line but the restaurant was nearly full. Service was prompt, friendly, and quick. Chorizo omelette: 4.25/5. My omelette was perfectly cooked and tender with bell peppers, tomato, and a hefty amount of chorizo inside. I added cheddar cheese for an extra $1 and it was great. It comes with seasonal veggies which were SO good. I think they cook them in butter or something because it just tastes so good. It also comes with a side of toast and herb potatoes and they were lovely. I got 1 main meal with 3 sides for around $18 and for that price and flavor, it's unbeatable. Beef brisket eggs benedict: I'm not an eggs benedict lover but these were quite good! The eggs had a perfect texture and good flavor to them. My boyfriend said next time he would get the most popular one though which had avocado and tomatoes. This also came with potatoes and seasonal veggies. London fog: they make their vanilla bean syrup in house and I think they cold-steep their earl grey. I'm a huge London fog fanatic and this was definitely one of the best London fogs I've had! They were very quick to serve water and our coffees, and attentive with warm-ups / top ups. The food we ordered was prepared quickly and to the table within the time frame. I have never had a twist on a classic breakfast that was so tasty! I ordered the coffee-encrusted pork belly benedict, and was very pleasantly surprised! There are no seasonings on the table in this place, which usually suggests the kitchen is confident their meals are seasoned correctly. They were not in error. A fantastic brunch!! There is a virtual waitlist you can use in the weekend: the waiting was approximate 100-119 minutes. The acoustics inside is not the greatest. Also there is an overhead fan but it was still very hot. (Temp today 25 degrees). The Cesar drink was really good. The bulgogi hash (sub mushroom rice) was weird. The rice was good but the beef was salty and the vegetable pieces large and not seasoned. Same as the kimchi, under seasoned. The poached eggs I had asked for the yolks to be runny but the yolks were nearly cooked. The prosciutto burrata toast was also Bizzarely under seasoned with the addition of old bruised avocado . The fries were good. With tip came to around 50 something dollars. I wanted to try out a new breaky place and decided to come here. Unfortunately the wait was very long for a table of 7 peeps! That was my first visit, today it was just the four of us and it took about 20 mins vs almost an hour last time! Today's lunch included the Beef Bulgogi hash, the wild salmon hash, the pork belly hash and a BLT. Yup I tasted all of them! The beef Bulgogi was good, so was the pork belly but my wild salmon was a bit over cooked so it was dry. My medium poached eggs were a little overdone so were the husby's. The BLT was underwhelming but palatable. The veggies are a hit and miss when it comes to consistency in doneness...meaning some were perfectly cooked but someone else's were under cooked. Our meals were on the slow side like 40 mins and the rush was already over. I think more consistency in food prep and a little quicker on the delivery would be nice but if you're not in a hurry and like Asian fusion, then this a good start! We came on a holiday Monday, I had called the week before to make sure they were open. Im glad they were and not as busy as I had expected. No waits, came at about 8:30am, left around 9:45am still no wait. The restaurant is small about 20ish tables, and I can see it being a very busy with long waits. I loved the options on the menu. Some Asian fusion to traditional breakfast / brunch menu. I ordered the Chicken Karage Hash actually both my girlfriend and I did and we split a NextJen gluten free waffle. Both were very yummy and filling. I would highly recommend it. The prices was all very reasonable and portions were great. They only have regular brewed coffee, no espresso. Service was on point. Caught brunch here on a weekday - it was busy! They recently moved from Broadway to Granville. The portions here (even if it doesn't look like much) are super filling, and I appreciated their creativity and spin on brunch dishes. There is a slight asian flare on the vegetables, for example, with daikon radish in the mix too! Perhaps I had high expectations as this place was highly recommended to me, but I found the flavours a little too strong and it was lacking the ying-yang I needed to balance things out. This little breakfast-only restaurant in Fairview has become my go to place for hearty Canadian breakfast since opening this year. The portions are satisfying and prices are fair. They use quality ingredients, like seasonal veggies - no frozen hash browns here. They make pretty much everything from scratch, like plump and juicy house made sausages and peppered bacon. Their creative spins on breakfast hash (pork belly hash? Yum!) and eggs Benedict (short rib Bennie? Yum yum!) keep things interesting and keep me coming back. I've been greeted by friendly staff every visit. Staff are always very prompt with refilling coffee, taking orders, and bringing our bill without leaving us to feel rushed. Food always arrives quickly and hot. The restaurant is not very big, but it is clean and comfortable. I've wanted to come here for so long and was finally able to over Christmas break. The wait was 45 minutes. This is partially because they sit people without their entire party. (Side Note: One 4 person table was held by 2 people who were waiting for their 3rd guest and she didn't even eat!) They have a texting service they contact you on once your table is ready, which is nice. I found the service to be fast and very friendly. We both tried their pork belly eggs Benny and had been hoping for melt in your mouth meat but it was more perhaps steak like, well done. Breakfast Table is by far my favourite brunch restaurant. Brunch is like my best friend. I love myself some breakfast food that I can eat at lunch and this is the place to get it! I had originally heard about this place when it first opened around last year by the bartender at Canadian Oakwood. He was raving about this restaurant and how unique the food was. The minute I heard about it, I knew I had to check it out! I have come here a few times and tried a few of their items including their specials. And though I don't remember what the special was called, it was the best darn breakfast dish I have ever tasted. The rest of their menu is great, but that special was over the edge amazing. The breakfasts have a bit of a fusion twist to it and almost a Korean twist. I went to breakfast table on a Friday afternoon at 12pm and it was easy to get a seat, but I can see it being a little bit harder to find a spot on a weekend or earlier in the morning. It's a cute restaurant in a busy neighbourhood with great service! The food was okay, it's overall an Asian influenced brunch food. Bulgogi hash - $16 - I thought this was the best of the three, they respected the traditional bulgogi flavours and elevated it with classic sides like daikon, corn potatoes, and carrots cooked with western cooking techniques. I was disappointed with the cook on the carrots and daikon. They were undercooked for me and were too crispy for my liking. I would have liked them softer, and used other textural ingredients for contrast. The corn was still on the cob, while it looked good, it was inconvenient to eat. I also think that if they took it off the cob, gave it a little char, it would have served as a perfect textural contrast and lended the hash a nice smokey flavour. I opted for the poached eggs which were great. Good quality free range eggs and good poach. Chicken karage hash - $15 This chicken karage dish looked gorgeous, chicken was well cooked, and was not a classical crust. It wasn't the best crust you would get at a typical Japanese izakaya but was a good taketo make it more elevated. The sides were the same as the bulgogi hash, and my feelings about the sides are the same. Coffee crusted pork belly hash - $15 This was my least favourite of the 3 and was kind of disappointing. The pork was mediocre at best. The acidity of the coffee didn't come through to balance the richness of the pork and it was a tad underseasoned. I would have liked to have a different element of acidity to balance it. Something like what jam cafe does - Onion jam, or balsamic reduction would go well. Pork didn't have too much flavour and wasn't that tender for a pork belly. Overall, it was a nice place to have brunch, food was okay. Wouldn't be a place I recommend to my friends, but would go here out of convenience. read more
