Put way too many people on a cart! Had to get off the cart (all 24 people) because the poor horses couldn't go over the rough area in the snow. This area was a snowed over golf course. (nowhere did it mention that!) I believe the advertisement said beautiful scenery. Ummm, was that the back of the houses on the golf course. Shame on you!! A refund would be expected, but with 24 people on one cart, with 2 horses pulling, I'm assuming it's about how much money can you make vs. what it should be. Would not recommend this! So many other fun things to do in Breckenridge, but stay away from this crappy ride. read more

While I've only been on one other dinner sleigh ride, I have to say this one felt "phoned in"... The ride itself was lovely. Just a little jaunt around the golf course, yes, but we were fortunate enough to have fresh snow without it snowing on our ride. I felt bad for the two horses pulling our sleigh of about 20 people as it was their last ride and they seemed tired. Our "guide" interacted with the front four people but neglected the rest of the sleigh, which was not so subtly mentioned by a lady sitting behind me. He didn't even address the patrons before starting our tour. Listening in to the convo happening in front, my man & I discovered the two horses names, that they're brother & sister, and how old they were (14 & 15 I do believe). The dinner was... ok. A decent salad, pasta that I could have boiled at home, store bought frozen meatballs & frozen chicken strips... well, previously frozen but you get me. Marinara & an Alfredo sauce, & brownies that I decided halfway through wasn't worth the calories... the saving grace (besides my date) was that we had purchased a Groupon. (However even THAT advertised steak. Bait & switch much? Even another patron stated "that doesn't look like steak") Oh! Another thing that set last year's experience in Frisco ahead of this one was the atmosphere. Last year, we were encouraged to talk with each other, be social, mingle at our table. My family and I did a nighttime sleigh ride last December, and it was not my cup of tea. First off, if you're doing a nighttime ride in the middle of winter, just know that whatever you're wearing isn't warm enough, and you should triple up on everything you're wearing- three pairs of socks, long underwear, gloves, etc. because it's freezing out there, and if you think the "warm" blanket they give you will help keep you even remotely warm, you have another thing coming. So I DEFINITELY recommend bringing the warmest blanket you own with you on the sleigh ride. Then the show they do during dinner (oh and it's also cold in the building you have dinner in, so you'll thank me later for bringing your own blanket) is pretty cringe-inducing, but then woman preforming picks people out of the crowd and forces them to participate in front of everyone, (I hate getting up in front of crowds, so obviously I REALLY hate being forced to get up in front of a crowd) so of course I was picked. I had to dance around the room in a 5-person conga line, and I just wanted to run back to my seat and pretend I was never picked throughout the whole dance. However I could tell the company put in a good amount of effort throughout everything, so I gave them an extra star, but this is personally not something I'd ever do again. read more

The sleigh ride was such a magical experience. It was very cold, but our wrangler offered as many blankets we needed before we took off. Our wrangler was very informative and introduced himself well. He also told us about the horses. The hot cocoa was delicious. Definitely purchase the dinner sleigh ride. The food was phenomenal and DELICIOUS! There was the option to purchase beer or wine, however, we didn't this time. Our dinner consisted of barbecue chicken, pork, salad, potato soup, Brussel sprouts, Mac and cheese, and green beans with tomatoes. Definitely try the Mac and cheese, potato soup, brussel sprouts, and green beans. Everything was delicious but those were our favorite! The dessert was yummy too! There was warm apple cobbler. The hospitality was incredible. The live music was so romantic and there were songs that several generations sang along to. Every aspect of this dinner sleigh ride was absolutely magical. This is our 6th year of doing a dinner sleigh ride. First time in Breckenridge. Past dinner sleigh rides included Beaver Creek, Keystone, Park City x2, and Aspen. We are not super picky eaters and always have a great time no matter where we go. This did not live up to our expectations. I'm only coming here to say..trust the reviews. I read the 'less than 5 star' reviews and just thought -those people just like to complain. The sleigh ride itself was great and our sleigh ride driver, Jackie, was superb! Yes it was cold, but we knew to prepare for that so no issue. The food!! Wow! For what this experience cost, the food was subpar at best. I guess we are just spoiled to the other dinner sleigh rides in the other ski towns, but this was like out of a cafeteria! The yurt was cold with bright florescent lights-no vibe whatsoever. The food was setup on a table in the middle of the yurt. The cornbread, for example, felt like it came straight from the refrigerator-cold as can be! The entertainer was good-until he wasn't. Incredibly rude as it was time to go basically telling us to go stand outside in the cold until the sleigh arrived so they could prepare for the next group. Bottom line...don't do it! I had purchased a Groupon thinking this would be a fun activity for my adult brothers, their girlfriends and I during our ski trip in Breckenridge. Of course I didn't check the yelp reviews beforehand. So on the Sunday evening drive to the clubhouse at the Nordic Center, I'm reading the yelp reviews..... And my jaw dropped! I couldn't believe the awful reviews posted from 2015 about this place. Of course my heart sank and I told my brothers girlfriends to lower their expectations cos it might be a let down. And I made Open Table dinner reservations at my favorite Czech restaurant on Main St just in case we couldn't stomach the food here. When we arrived to the clubhouse and checked in, we were offered self serve hot cocoa or $5 shots of Jameson or the Baileys knock off for our hot cocoa. It was 12 degrees outside. We had our shots in our cocoa cups and loaded up on the two separate sleighs. We were on the overflow sleigh that fits about 10 adults facing each other. Blankets were passed out. Let me rephrase that.... LOTS of blankets were passed out! Despite my three base layers and parka, I still needed extra blankets and the guide was very kind and generous. It was a lovely 15 mins ride around a snow covered golf course. Our guide didn't converse much but he mentioned about our Percheron horses. He seemed to know a lot about the horses. I think he's more a wrangler than a guide. But they do work for tips. And there is a posted sign that suggests that. Inside the clubhouse we had a catered dinner. The food was surprisingly good: roasted Pork tenderloin, artichoke and spinach stuffed chicken, green salad, steamed veggies, baked potato with all the toppings. Based on previous yelp reviews, I was expecting a boombox playing John Denver's greatest hits. But we had live music from a gentleman that did a great job performing John Denver songs to the Beatles and Garth Brooks. And he did have a tip jar out. Maybe I'm used to seeing tip jars at piano bars and other venues so I wasn't bothered by it. Overall this was a serene sleigh ride away from the ski slopes and Main St of Breck. read more

Tried this on a Groupon and it was totally worth it. The sleigh ride was fun, the wrangler, Brendan, was very knowledgeable and friendly. There wasn't a whole lot of snow but that's not their fault. This would be even better after a fresh snowfall. The bar has hot chocolate for free which we had the bartender add some rumplemintz which was awesome, but not free. The dinner afterward was so so, buffet style. The live entertainment was very talented, singing and playing guitar to many favorites. My husband and and I did this sleigh ride with our son and daughter-in-law last night, and I have to say that everything was perfect. After we checked in we got hot chocolate as we waited for the others to arrive. There were about a dozen on our sleigh. As we approached our driver couldn't have been friendlier! He invited us to greet the horses and take pictures if we wanted to. We were lucky to sit in the front row because we got to ask the driver lots and lots of questions. And we heard some pretty good stories too! As for the dinner, it was really good! I don't eat meat, so the chef had prepared something special for me. My family all went back for seconds. The chef was there walking around and asking how everything was and if we needed anything. During supper, there was a guy and a guitar, and he was good too! Do dress WARM!! Snow pants, scarf, stocking cap, gloves, and boots if you have them! All in all a wonderful evening! read more

As a fan of mountain sleigh rides in the winter time I have to say this was the ultimate let down. It's a shame too because this company used to have one of the best set ups for Colorado dinner sleigh rides. What used to be a beautiful jaunt up peak 8/9 at Breckenridge ski resort and a lovely rustic dinner in a yurt halfway up the mountain with lovely socializing amongst the patrons has turned into a disorganized trip around a golf course in the middle of a neighborhood with a pre-frozen quality meal in a "rustic mountain building" aka a clubhouse. Thank goodness this was purchased via Groupon and they were more than willing to give a refund as I would not have been pleased in the least for paying full price. Back to the meal.....what was advertised as steak and grilled chicken was frozen quality meatballs and pre-grilled frozen chicken strips.....sticky pasta, and Costco (nothing against them but for the price of this "experience" come on...) quality brownies and cookies for dessert. Everywhere you looked too....tips, tips, tips!.....it was not a secret that everyone worked for tips there. From the one man band to the "catering" folks who stood around watching everyone line up at the table for their food like cattle. A tip jar was in sight everywhere. What makes other sleigh rides enjoyable too is the fact that your carriage drivers encourage singalongs or at the minimum socializing at the dinner table with your fellow riders. Not here. The driver talked to the front row of people in the sleigh and said nary a word to any of the rest of us. So with all of that being said.....do some research and really know what you're getting into with your dinner sleigh rides. It was partly cloudy, so the sun going behind the mountain made a perfect 7:00 ride. Try to sit in the front of the sleigh! You'll have better views and hear what the wrangler is saying. After the sleigh ride, we had a buffet style dinner. BBQ grilled chicken, pork, Mac and cheese, salad, baked potatoes and a few other sides. Food was good. Alcohol is able to be purchased at bar. While it is extremely pricey, my fiancé and I took our three kiddos on the sleigh ride and we had s great time! They loved the horses and the views. The dinner was delicious! They did away with the "frozen meatballs" that everyone was leaving bad reviews about. My girlfriend and i thought it would be fun to do the Breckenridge sleigh ride. Although its required to make reservations the sleigh was still overcrowded. The Sleigh Driver was incredible nice and friendly but he had to stand the entire ride because of lack of room on the sleigh! We had imagined the sleigh ride to be though the wilderness of Breckenridge and a fast paced fun ride. The horses were sluggish and didn't seem happy as they slowly walked around the golf course. We decided a sleigh ride on New Year's Eve would be fun for the family....for $55 per person, we circled the golf course at night with 25 other people in a horse drawn sleigh. I'm sure the intent is for a peaceful, intimate experience, but ultimately it does not deliver.
