My coffee drink quest brought me here and I had a delicious coffee crush! I wanted a pastry but I didn't get one be side they weee so huge and I decided to wait til someone went with me to share, however they are all gorgeous and I look forward to going back. This is in a location with plenty of parking and plenty of room in a wide open space. Will definitely go back for another coffee crush and maybe pastry!
I've tried some of their pastries in the past and they were pretty average. Perhaps they are fresher in the morning, but when I've had them they're on the brink of becoming stale and dry. On the plus, they do look amazing and the inside is very open and spacious. The staff were friendly but I didn't know I could heat up the food until a friend told me. I've gotten a too good to go box from here and the staff took a while to acknowledge me, despite not being busy and coming at the requested time. It turns out they didn't know what the program was and also didn't have anything prepared. When I did get my box ready, it was all one item despite having multiple types left in the case, and only 4 small rolls. I know I wasn't my choice when I chose a too good to go option but some variety would have been nice. The sparkling tea was okay, but I think a little overpriced for how much ice and the flavor. There wasn't much carbonation and also not strong enough strawberry flavor for what I was expecting. It was very refreshing but you could finish it within just a few sips. The jelly was good, but hard to get to through the ice once you sip down the tea. Overall, very nice aesthetic and cute, but the drinks are a little overpriced and the pastries are just okay and hit or miss. The customer service is average and sometimes a little disappointing. I would come back to try some of the pastries others have recommended earlier in the morning.
What a lovely place to meet up with friends, study or work or simply pause during the day! I met a friend at 3:30 in the afternoon and the parking lot was almost full - fortunately, they have lots of seating! Our lattes were really good but what I really liked were the help yourself pastry cases. Simply pick up a tray, select what you'd like, and take it up to the counter to pay. Can't wait to go back!
Definitely a top spot to grab a sweet treat when I'm in Cary! I'm a fan of both their boba & pastries. This time, we got the Boba Brown Sugar Matcha Latte (could definitely taste the matcha, which was great) & the Tiramisu Paradise (which was my favorite). Also tried a walnut pistachio bread (the best pastry I've had in a long time!), ube bun (loved how strong the ube flavor was), and an Oreo bun. The ambiance is really nice: lots of tables, actually seems like a good place to study. Really big parking lot. Service is fast & very nice: I belatedly realized that I'd said the wrong thing for my sister's drink order, and they were happy to add matcha to a drink that was already made, which was so appreciated! 10/10 would recommend!
Brecotea is an Asian style bakery & cafe that serves asian style desserts (lighter and less sweet) and drinks. Upon entering you'll see the counter where you can order drinks and special cakes and if you look left you'll see the desserts in a glass window where they are self-serve. There is lots of seating if you choose to dine inside. I haven't tried any of the drinks before but lots of them look pretty good. You can order via their website which is what I did. I also picked up a Too Good To Go order. The service is pretty good and the inside feels comfortable and cozy but a lot of the desserts are hit or miss. The bread doesn't feel very light, airy, or spongy as you'd find with other asian style bakeries and their breads and buns. The bread and buns at Brecotea feel more bready and a bit more dense. The hours here are very good as they're open until 9:30p or so.
I stopped by Brecotea with a few friends on a Saturday night when we were craving something sweet after dinner. I was surprised by how spacious it was--tons of seating, and it seems like a great place to hang out or even get some work done during the day. Since we showed up later in the evening, a lot of the pastries were already gone, so we didn't get to see the full variety. I grabbed a slice of the mango cake, and it was really good--super light and not overly sweet. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll try to come earlier to check out more of their selection!
I stopped in on a Thursday evening before the holiday. The place had plenty of patrons and it didn't take me long to learn why. First, the friendly staff greeted me with a warm welcome as soon as I walked through the entrance -- that kind of genuine charm is so underrated these days. There were lots of tea options and many unique bakery offerings, such as hot dog danishes, Oreo buns, a curry baked good, a beautiful purple-hued blueberry cake -- just to name a few. Patrons were filling their bamboo-style trays with baked goods from the self-serve glass case. Although the blueberry cake, strawberry cup, and Oreo bun were calling my name, I didn't indulge in baked goods -- maybe next time. I ordered a chai tea with a "spot of milk." The ambience was nice both inside and out, so I sat for a while indoors then moved outdoors to the bistro tables to finish my beverage. I will definitely come back -- seems like a fun environment to make hum-drum routine work tasks less drudgery. Also a nice place to catch up with a friend over coffee!
I had a sweet tooth and stopped in on a Saturday for some items to go. It was busy, as usual. I opted for a slice of the Black Forest cake and the ube and red bean buns. My favorite of the pick was the ube bun-so delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. The Black Forest cake was delicate and delicious, but I would have loved a stronger chocolate flavor. I'd definitely get the ube bun again.
Always solid pastries and boba here! The pastries/breads are self-serve using provided tongs and trays and you pay at the counter where you can also order drinks. We got the taro bun and pork floss bun. The bread on both was super fluffy. The pork floss bun had a perfect balance of salty and sweet. The taro filling was delicious as well. I also got the jasmine milk tea at 50% sweetness with boba which was super fragrant and the tea flavor was amazing. The boba were soft and chewy and the overall sweetness ended up being perfect. Staff were friendly and our drinks were prepared quickly. There was plenty of indoor seating and it looked like a nice place to study/work as well.
Looks like one of the popular go-to's of any age bracket. They have a huge selection of pastries, cakes and drinks. It reminds me of another popular French cafe but this location has more tables and can accommodate larger groups. There were 10 of us and we were able to enjoy al fresco! Anyway, I loveee pastries and while I don't think they offer the best ones, their Paradise drinks make up for it! I had two of the same item in one sitting plus coffee! Although the same drink, somehow tasted different, definitely done by two different people with one being generous and all-in the standard ingredients. Check out their front door for deals on some days. Maybe hard to find parking on rush hours so prepare to wait. Went there just before dinnertime.
I came here for the first time a few days ago and I ordered a chicken sandwich while my siblings got boba tea. The chicken sandwich was amazing, my only issue with it was that I asked for it to be toasted and the chicken was still very cold after it was heated up. I wish it was heated a little bit longer. I tried both the boba teas and they were both pretty good. Price is sorta up there for the drinks but reasonable for the food. I came around 3:30pm and a good amount of food was already out so I'd recommend coming earlier. The food came out quickly and I enjoyed the ambiance of the dining area. I'll definitely be back!
Went here to get coffee after the kids eat ice cream from Goodberry's. It's a nice clean place to stop over and get pastries! They offer both savory pastries and majority sweets. I particularly love a bread that is not sweet so this is not my taste. But love their Strawberry cake cups!!! They offer a variety of drinks from coffee to bobas. The people are friendly but they're pretty busy when we were there. The pastries look pretty. Not overly sweet so it fits my taste :) This reminds me of our Asian bakery but this one is spacious and a lot of seating.
Went to try this place because I was really looking forward for their milk tea, but when we got there they didn't have any because of water issues. So we went with the pastries instead and honestly, they didn't disappoint. The hotdog danish was tasty and the Oreo stick was such a fun addition. The only downside was the Ube bun- the yam filling was pretty dry. Other than that, there were plenty of seats & nice variety of food to pick from. I'd definitely give it another shot, hopefully next time they'll have the milk tea.
Came here while we were in town! They have an abundance of different desserts and pastries. We came around the afternoon so all of the popular pastries were sold out! My favorite was the croissant with the cream and berries. So yum. We also tried their milk tea, which I didn't really care for to be honest. read more
This was my first time here, and I did not expect it to be so large. The menu was posted to the right as I walked in, there were a lot of options! I ended up going with a passionfruit sparkling tea. It was very good and citrus-y. The service was quick and I love the cups, they're so cute. There's also plenty of seating in there. The pastry case was located in the middle of the floor which I thought was cool. A lot of people walked around the pastry case to look at them. Everything looked so good, but I didn't get one. My partner and I visited Brecotea for a quick snack and coffee while visiting Cary. It was very crowded when we visited on a weekend afternoon. The interior was very cute and pastel - like a French-meets-Asian aesthetic fusion (which makes sense given that this is a French-inspired Asian bakery). We got the sausage bun, scallion pork floss bun, and a custard bun - all of which were very delicious and fresh. Overall, we had a great experience and will return next time we're in the area. read more
I was so excited to stop by this bakery because of the Asian-inspired flavors, like matcha, taro, and red bean. They had a variety of both sweet and savory pastries available as well as slices of cake. They were yummy and not too sweet. Staff is very friendly and will warm up pastries for you if you prefer that. The drinks were okay. The tiramisu milk tea was much better than the mango one. I would not recommend the mango one as it tasted a bit odd to me. The bakery itself has so much indoor seating to choose from. You can definitely have a relaxing time enjoying your pastries and drinks here. read more

Taiwanese style pastries. Ran by folks from India. Got here around 11:30ish that place was full. Long lines for tasty pastries, cakes, ice cream and boba. Self-service and lots to choose from. If you are tired of eating big breakfasts, come down to Brecotea and have some fruit passion tea, milkshakes, or coffee. It's not Starbucks or Kung Fu tea but their not so sweet pastries are on point. I like the Ube doughnut and the boba brown sugar milk (taro). Best tasting boba latte I had since I was in Seattle. Good Boba & sweet baked goods to try! Second time at Brecotea! Went around 2pm and the pastry case was very empty but we were able to try a custard cream tart and a chocolate croissant. Recommend going earlier in the day so you have all the pastry choices!! Classic Boba tea was good, fruit mango tea was a little bland. The first time I went the mango tea tasted great but the ingredients this time around were not flavorful. Service was fast and we were there during a busy period. Onsite parking surrounds the whole building and there was spacious indoor seating with outdoor seating options. read more

Beautiful, large storefront with fantastic selection of bubble tea, coffee and super attractive baked goods! You'll immediately be drawn to hand pick choicest fresh baked both sweet & savory breads. With affordable prices, I guarantee you'll end up picking atleast 3 for yourself. The bubble tea itself is lovely too. Tasty colorful drinks with high quality cups that elevate the experience. What a cute spot just to relax and enjoy a snack and a delicious tea! They have such a fun variety of teas and really good boba. I took a walk around there baked goods area a something that caught my eye was the pork floss being used it different ways! I ended up getting brown sugar boba cake shake with two crepe cakes. The matcha crepe was a hit the durian not so much and the tea was loved it! read more
Brecotea has a super wide selection of Taiwanese/East Asian pastries. You'll find many, many sweet and savory options in their pastry case. They also have an incredible selection of bubble tea/fruit teas/coffee options/ice cream. Ordering may seem a little confusing, but here's the process: If you're looking for a pastry, head to their pastry case and grab a tray & tongs on the left. Pick out your pastries -- once you're done, hang up the tongs with the other used ones (you'll be able to tell where those are). Head to the checkout counter where you can pay for your pastries and also order any drinks. Today, we got the scallion pork floss bun, curry bun, and passion fruit yogurt tea. The buns were soft, super savory, and not too salty. Really well balanced flavors overall. The tea was also just the right amount of sweetness -- which was balanced out with the creaminess of the yogurt. Brecotea is a great option if you're looking to treat yourself with some tasty snacks or drinks! read more
If you're looking for a classic east Asian bakery, you've come to the right spot. In the evenings most of their baked goods are sold out. I love all their ube baked goods as you can taste the actual ube. These desserts are on the less sweet side, catering to classic East Asian preferences so you'll be disappointed if you want really sweet (western level) baked goods. A must go in Cary. You go in, grab a tray and tongs, and go to the amazing golden case of pastry. Then you select your treats, head to the dessert case (if you're feeling ice cream or cake), then go to pay or order your drink! Today I got an ube bun (the bright purple one) and a carmelized custard. The ube bun itself is soft and fluffy, and mildly dense interior-not red bean thick, but a nice smooth mashed potato of dessert. It's sweet but not overly so, and such a treat if you like the fruity sweet potato vibes of ube. The custard is always a winner: crispy pastry and smooth creamy custard. I am so glad a travel from Winston because I would be here daily and poor. read more
Place is very cute. I enjoyed the orchid oolong and would go back for the drinks but wasn't a fan of the baked goods. A unique place. You serve yourself. They have cute wooden trays and you open the case and select what you want. They offer sweet and savory items. I bought quite a few items and my coworkers loved everything! The box was empty in no time. I tried the pineapple bread. Delicious. They also serve teas, coffee, milkshakes, boba drinks, milk tea, yogurt tea, ice cream, whole cakes, etc. A very nice variety of drinks. Their cups, notebooks, etc. are too cute. They range between $6-19.99. The variety of non-food items are nice. Pretty earthy colors. Nice area for parking. Restaurant was very clean. Spacious seating area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Brecotea offers a reward program as well. And with their reasonable prices, you'll be here often so your points will add up fast. read more

I want to say it is the most elegant place I have been to when it comes to boba tea shops. They have pastries that are reasonably priced and beautiful. On this day, I had a craving for boba, and this was the closest to me. I was super excited because I had not been there before. I got a large milk tea! I regret it. I have never had boba be hard. I know they can get that way from the ice, but this batch could not have been ready. I don't know if I will try their boba again. This is my opinion, not yours, so try it yourself! read more

If you're looking for a Korean bakery mashed up with boba place, in an upscale setting, you'll find it at Brecotea. At the center of a large dining area is a setup where you pick a tray lined with parchment paper, take a tong and walk around a large central display case that has all types of sweet and savory pastries such as filled croissants like chocolate crème with oreo cookie bits , fruit flavored danish like mango or blueberry, sponge cakes topped with flaky pork, hotdog pastries, buns filled with chicken curry or custard or ube crème or red beans, the list goes on and on! Then off to the side you have a whole beverage center where you gave multiple staff taking your order of blended drinks, boba drinks, hot drinks, tea concoctions, milkshakes.... Then off to a corner are like hanging shelves displaying merchandise like water bottles, sippy cups and drink bottles. There are outdoor seats as well as ample seating inside. Very hip for young folks to hang out and mingle or for families to have a light brunch over pastries! I like their sparkling passion fruit drink although next time I know enough to ask for 25% sugar! read more
I'm a big fan of Brecotea! I love all their bakery options and enjoy being able to pick them out myself and really dive in. They also have the refrigerated case of pastries as well. There were so many delicious things, it was hard to narrow it down. I also really enjoyed their boba! I went with the strawberry and it was perfect-- not too sweet and the boba was perfectly chewy. Some of the lower reviews were when they first opened and it was peak COVID. I feel like now it's a great experience and it's definitely worth a trip to check it out. read more

I was really worried whenever I place my order because I couldn't adjust the sweetness. The staff assured me that they do not add any additional sweetener other than the brown sugar boba itself. This boba has been the best matcha boba tea that I've had. The matcha tastes very natural and organic. Many of the other places I've tried it tastes very artificial. I was very impressed by the boba as well as they are perfectly sweetened with the brown sugar and the consistency was perfect. I also got the strawberry chocolate cake. It was also very good but the boba was definitely the star of the show! read more
I love any excuse to visit Brecotea! I'm so glad that an Asian-style bakery opened up in the area. The bread case is always fully stocked with delicious-looking pastries and I've always enjoyed their bubble tea flavors. The crepe cake slices are a little pricey (I believe around $7?) but are tasty. Some of the pastries weren't as sweet as we were expecting, but still good. I'm increasing their score since they finally bought some halfway decent cutlery and lids. I'm still not a fan of their pastries -- they don't have any classic American or European pastries. Maybe it's an Asian thing. I'm not sure. It's a lot of sweet stuff without any depth to the flavor. read more

I ordered pastries from Brecotea and thought it was pretty tasty! Brecotea is a cute little Asian bakery in Cary. They have a very wide assortment of buns, breads, and pastries. I was most impressed by the size of each of the pastries. They're huge! It's definitely sharing size if you'd like to make it. I got a couple of options to go, and liked them a lot. Overall, the flavor was good, but I'm giving only 4 stars because they were a little bit drier than I would have preferred. Lastly, the price is fairly reasonable for what you get. Overall, I think this spot is a cute addition to your café hopping list. read more

Super cute pastry and boba shop! I'm not personally a boba fan but my husband enjoyed his. The pastries were absolutely delicious and some of the best in the area! I can't wait to go back and try different options- they have so many, it was tough to make a choice. I wish I could give this 3.5 stars but will round up for the benefit of the doubt. This place has the potential to be a great 5-Star pastry/boba/tea spot but the experience of dining there holds it back. Many 'Instagrammable' pictures you can take there from the settings to the pastries in the glass itself. Walking in, we found ourselves very confused of what to do/where to go. We notice a very long line to the register but not sure how you order. Some people had food and trays in their hands while others didn't so we weren't sure of what the line was even for. To make it more confusing, there are two touchscreen kiosks where apparently you can order from as well...not sure why everyone just stayed in line opposed to using that. Once we figured it out, if we want pastries, we go to the glass case with our trays and pick out what we want (literally hand picked with tongs...that I'm not sure who else even used or touched). It gets real hectic and kind of unsanitary when the employee brings out more pastries on their big cart and people rush to pick from that. The line was long so I decided to at least order our drinks from kiosk which I learned became irrelevant as there were a lot of drinks they ran out of but didn't say on the kiosk (I had to find out the hard way, which made for a longer wait) The food itself was really good, I will say that. The pork floss rolls were my favorite and there's a good variety to choose from, if you can make that ridiculous rush. The milk tea was alright, nothing spectacular but really wish they had my original drink order. read more

I've been to Brecotea a few times and I do enjoy coming. My favorite thing to get is the chicken curry donut and the pineapple bun. They have a large variety of flavors and types of buns/bread to choose from along with desserts(cake) and milk tea. I usually go for the buns because I enjoy them the most. The only reason I'm taking one star off is because I don't like some of their classics. The egg tart I got one time was not the best and the red bean bun filling was not my favorite (also there wasn't much in it). My recommendation is to just try because they have good buns! You just have to find one you like. The people at the counter are super nice and they are helpful if trays run out. The store can get a little busy so there's not always seating on the weekend during lunch but the line to checkout moves quickly. read more
For the Triangle, I think Brecotea is great. Though I have to admit, I still haven't been to my fair share of Asian bakery-cafes and bubble tea shops in the area. My rating is partially based in relation to what I think you can find in the area. Really, what I mainly have Brecotea to compare against are the plethora of similar businesses I'm familiar with in metro Atlanta and then other larger metros. Brecotea is the first Asian bakery-cafe in the Triangle to impress me. I think their bubble tea can stand up to some of the better businesses in more competitive markets. One of my friends in Atlanta, who's a bubble tea connoisseur, recommended Brecotea to my wife and me. The pictures she'd send us of her bubble tea from Brecotea looked legit. She likes Breco's Oolong Bubble Milk Tea and her mom likes Breco's Fresh Fruit Tea. She specifically praised Breco's boba (tapioca pearls). She told me that she "love[s] it when places take their boba seriously and never serve [bad] and bland boba." She compared it favorably to OneZo, a bubble tea brand from Taiwan known for its outstanding-quality boba. Her bubble tea opinion is one I take seriously. After my wife and I tried Brecotea's boba for ourselves, I have to say I agree with my friend - Breco's boba is excellent. However, I also agreed with my wife that it wasn't perfect. I'd consider my wife a bubble tea connoisseur too. I thought Breco's boba was borderline too soft. My wife thought Breco's boba was a little too mushy. Usually, when I don't like boba, it's because it's too hard. Brecotea actually had the opposite problem. Their boba was so soft and mushy that some of the boba stuck together. This made the stuck-together blobs of boba hard or impossible to suck through a straw. That said, I'd rather my boba be too soft than too hard. It really is a balance when trying to perfect boba taste and texture. As far as taste went, Breco's boba tasted delectable and not overly sweet. Breco serves over 50 types of tea, not including flavor variations. Aside from the types mentioned above and below, they include Yogurt Tea, Milk Cap Tea, "Paradise Tea," and Sparking Tea. They also offer espresso and other coffee drinks plus milkshakes and ice cream. Expect to spend at least about $5-8 per drink after tax and tip. Here were the teas we tried: #2. Yuen Yeung Milk Tea (medium, $4.55) #13. Boba Taro Milk Latte (medium, $4.95) #11. Boba Brown Sugar Cake Shake (medium, $4.75) #14. Boba Taro Matcha Latte (medium, $4.95) The Yuen Yeung Milk Tea is also known as coffee with tea. It was good. I could definitely taste both the coffee flavor and the tea flavor in the drink. The type of tea used was Roasted Oolong. Breco has regular Oolong too. The coffee and tea flavors were well-balanced. The Boba Taro Milk Latte, Boba Brown Sugar Cake Shake, and Boba Taro Matcha Latte all came from the Boba Brown Sugar Milk section of the menu. I thought all three of these drinks tasted fantastic. My personal favorite was the Boba Brown Sugar Cake Shake. I'd never had anything like it before. It was like a Boba Brown Sugar Milk Tea with cake batter added for extra richness and sweetness. I could feel the yummy grittiness of the cake batter in between my teeth as I drank the milk tea and chewed the boba. I think some people might find this drink too sweet and therefore, I don't recommend it to everyone. However, if you like cake/cake batter - for example, I like ice cream like birthday cake ice cream that has real cake batter in it - then the Boba Brown Sugar Cake Shake should be right up your alley. The Boba Taro Lattes had real taro in them. We got some food as well. Like other Asian bakeries and cafes, Breco has display cases filled with a variety of sweet and savory pastries, cakes, and other treats/desserts. We tried a few items from the cake displays: * Mango Mousse ($3.99 per slice) * Fruit Puff ($3.99 per slice) * Original Swiss Roll ($3.99 per slice) * Durian Mille Crepe ($7.99 per slice) Of the above, my favorite was the Original Swiss Roll. It was creamy, chocolaty, and perfectly moist. I recommend it, even though I know it's one of the simpler cakes. My wife's favorite was the Fruit Puff. The Fruit Puff contained ripe strawberry and kiwi. The puff had a nice and crumbly exterior texture. Both the Fruit Puff and Mango Mousse weren't too sweet, which we liked. The consistency of the Mille Crepe Cake was terrific, but the flavor and smell of the Durian wasn't good. Durian is hit or miss with me so I knew I was taking a chance when I ordered it. I'd never had a Mille Crepe Cake in Durian flavor before. I suggest playing it safe and trying one of the other Mille Crepe flavors. The store itself is beautiful. It's got a polished, classy, elegant, and contemporary look. It's a wonderful hangout/meetup spot. And there's plenty of seating, inside and out. This Brecotea location in Cary opened in August 2020. The original location opened in Richmond, Virginia in July 2019. read more
