Delicious hot chicken. This store is in the Antimall Lab. Lots of parking here. Ordered a quarter chicken and it took 20 minutes but came out fresh and hot. And trust me--I'm a chicken sando hobbyist (unpaid, but passionate). Fresh and fast (admittedly ot was 11:00), this sandwich delivers a crispy, golden crunch that says "we mean business." Just an upscaled, overpriced Raising canes'. They copied their box combo, substituted the texas toast with white bread, which in my opinion is a downgrade. No coleslaw, replaced with slices of pickles. It's not bad, it's just, I was let down. The chicken was real good, higher quality than RC. Service was a typical food stall where you order from a screen and they have the audacity to ask for a tip! Ambiance is nice. Came here on a Sunday afternoon valentines, it is the most busy and longest wait time. Waited almost 45 mins for a chicken sandwich and fries. Taste is great, but not worth the 45 mins wait time. Prices are reasonable being the location and ambiance. There is seating inside and outside. Felt bad cause there is 2 kiosks to order and one young girl putting the orders together with a ton of people waiting at the counter. read more

The location in new spot at River St. Market place. The vibe inside was nice and inviting, making it a good spot to hang out. The chicken is tender but crispy, and so flavorful. I liked the sauce in their sandwiches . The food was worth the wait , the chicken sandwich was amazing and the food was high quality.The price was really high. We got the loaded fries and they were awesome! They were covered in chicken, sauce, coleslaw, and pickles! Definitely get extra pickles. The price seemed pretty reasonable for what we got. You order on an iPad and get a text when your food is ready, so virtually no service. It can be quite difficult to get a seat outside as the patio is used by all the restaurants in the food hall. read more

Meet friends here for Mothers Day and food was great! The chicken was tender and fresh, not dry & full of flavor. The potato salad was also great, not loaded with mayo but creamy & delicious. Yum yum!! We love Bred Hot Chicken!! We always get it from River Street and order it ahead of time so we don't have to wait. Sometimes it can be a bit crazy over there. We love the nuggets, they give you so so many that are a really great size compared to the wimpy sizes at like Chick-fil-A. Be warned the spice is no joke and will always hit you the next day if you catch my drift... Always yummy, great portion sizes, and awesome sauce. Wish I took a picture to share! read more

Bred's Hot Chicken is the real deal. Came with my family and ordered a full spread, and every sandwich delivered. The chicken is insanely juicy with a perfectly crisp crust -- no greasiness, no shortcuts. You can tell it's properly seasoned all the way through, not just dusted with spice at the end. The heat is layered and flavorful, not just punch-you-in-the-mouth spicy. The buns are soft and buttery and actually hold up, the pickles are cold and sharp, and everything works together exactly how hot chicken should. Fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned right. My husband just picked up food from here today. He ordered the chicken and waffles-one tender wimpy one tender spicy. When he got home he opened the order and it was two tenders with fries and toast. The mistake would not have been too big of an issue but it appears the tenders were both not just spicy but the spiciest level they have. Now we can't be 100% sure but our friend had gotten the regular spicy level and their chicken was much tamer than what was on these tenders. I took one bite and it was completely inedible to me. My husband choked down the rest but was literally in tears eating it. So if you like super spicy food they can deliver; unfortunately my spice tolerance isn't that high so these were not for me. This is the worst chicken strips. First, it was super greasy. Second , I can tolerate heat but the medium cayenne was awful. I think the cayenne bottle spilled on the chicken. Unbearable to eat. Lastly, for two orders of three chicken strips with fries and two sauces was $50. They charge $10.95 for two pieces of chicken strips but then if you want three strips it is another $3.95 and then you add $3.95 for fries and .79 cents for each sauce (comes with comeback sauce but it tasted like they added ketchup to their ranch dressing) on top of that they charge a service fee and expect a tip to do your job? It's not like you're being waited on by a waiter or waitress. Actually, you place your own order on a touchscreen pad. It's chicken strips people. Cane's is way better and way more cost effective. For $25/person, way better food options in that area for sure (location: San Juan Capistrano) read more

We have gone here twice and both times the customer service was amazing. I had multiple people as me if I needed help with anything as I looked at the menu. Multiple people engaging me and kind conversation and explaining their menu. I received my order in pretty quickly, decent timing even though it was Christmas week and every where was packed. The food was amazing. A mac & cheese is one of the best I've had in a long time at places like this because I'm super picky. Will definitely go again. read more

Bred Hot Chicken in San Juan Capistrano is a solid spot, but it left me feeling it was just average overall. We tried the Caesar Salad and Loaded Chicken--both were decent but didn't stand out compared to other chicken places like Raising Cane's. On the positive side, the vibe inside was nice and inviting, making it a good spot to hang out. However, the difficult parking situation took away from the experience. The person said "one moment", walked away, and we wanted 20 more minutes for someone else to show up, but nobody did.
