This hotel is complete garbage. I spoke with AJ about some money they stole. He basically said that since it wasn't a large sum of money I shouldn't worry about it. This hotel will steal your money. This hotel was booked on Kayak with the "Pay Later" option meaning to pay when I stay. Instead they charged me immediately. Then I had to call 4 times to get a refund. These people are trash. Had reserved a room for me n my wife for several months they canceled us for no reason at all and only found out the day of check in. When we had Southwest. Com call them to ask why the couldn't give an answer and later lied and said we cancelled but records prove they cancelled us. Adrian the manager was a jerk says they can do whatever they want. Found a much better place right on the beach so glad we didn't give these people our money. STAY AWAY! UPDATE wow now these people are actually LYING about us!! This was a nice memorable find through Priceline with full charm of the Keys. We rented a bungalow for a night of relaxation in Islamorada to break up the 4 hour commute to Key West. The bungalow has a couch and breakfast room in the front, kitchen and bedroom towards the back and friendly chickens greeting you outside. Just out the door is,a beach with a grilling area, and jet ski rentals. This is a great place to throw a cookout after a day of fishing. Friendly staff that gave us great suggestions on what to check out during a 10pm downpour after Hurricane Milton was wrapping up. Both of us want to come back! read more

I was extremely sleep deprived and obviously went to bed early. Then I was woken up to the sound of heavy pounding above, and it wouldn't stop. Turns out, they were doing construction on the unit. Why rent the room out if you know there is going to be construction?! Then they started drilling loudly above as well. Just a horrible experience overall. read more

During our stay the temps in Fl were low of 42 degrees. They did not have heat or hot water in our room. We got back to room late at night so had to stay there. When I complained to management trying to get compensated they said no. Not their problem. I sent messages after returning home and they were very rude! I reported them to the better business bureau. We were there with a number of people and had several rooms. From the broken pipes to the lack of hangers, storage and service. We called house keeping for towels. We were told we had to BRING THEM our old ones first to the front desk. Also, we asked for two additional towels and were asked why we needed them? Seriously? No back up toilet paper in room. Yep, and thats right if you needed more, off to the front desk you went. Whatever was left from the last occupancy, that's what you got. Oh room keys stopped working randomly. No storage in one bedroom, only four wire hangers. Perhaps that's because one closet was packed to the brim with hotel files! Wanna shower ? Sorry no pressure here. Hope you don't have a full head of hair. So no... we won't be back. Update!!! Sleezy Palms billed my credit card for $80 after we checked out. They claim we "damaged" four towels with makeup! Seriously impossible! And those sandpaper towels aren't worth $1 each! Now they can add fraud to the list of reasons not to go there! read more

The Motel was clean, however, a drunk guest broke into the 1st floor Motel room where my wife was sleeping, he saw my wife sleeping on the sofa and left. The slider doors are old, somewhat hard to lock. The drunk told a guard and the guard banged on my door at 3 AM to tell me, although I couldn't understand him. I couldn't sleep had a guided fishing trip next morning, and was very tired. DO NOT put a small flats skiff in the marina, low tide was 4 ft below the dock and there were no ladders. My wife was not able to fish the 6 days the boat was in the water, as you had to jump on the front of the 17ft boat over the trolling motor, I would not go without her. This marina needs to be upgraded and made safe with fingers to access the boat from the side. As a USCG Capt and Guide this is NOT SAFE. Apparently the marina was redone several years ago and made couple feet higher per a worker there. When I was there 10 yrs ago, small boats were OK. Use at your own risk, as the ramp has rocks to the side. They allowed me to store the boat behind the office, which was a godsend, the motel workers are friendly, which is why I didn't rate a one star. read more

Do not go. So-called Bungalows are merely tiny duplexes to have a view of the parking lot, not the ocean as described. The noisy window shaker A/C didn't cool. No ventilation in the bath with tiny shower, no window. Plumbing backed up every day. No maid service. You are forced to pay in advance for your room for the entire stay even before they allow you to see it, then, if you want to leave early, they don't refund. The sea grass on the tiny beach area was 2 feet deep, so we asked for them to rake it, which they never did. Maintenance sat around smoking watching the guests instead of working. Office was more than rude. Sand was littered with garbage. This place is a dump. The grills were so filthy you would never consider putting food on them. There were various watercraft littering the common areas, yet we were told to move our tiny inflatable off our patio area. read more

Did the old "Bait and Switch" routine on me. Dirty, has roaches and rats! I booked a 2 bedroom apartment and got a 1 bedroom apartment. The website site map had my room listed as a 2 bedroom apartment it was not. I was told they only have one 2 bedroom apartment. The room was not clean, it had dirty walls and door jambs in the bathroom that looked to be human waste. the carpet looked filthy, as did the balcony floor and chair and the inside of the kitchen cabinets are dirty. Found a cockroach on the kitchen counter. The bathroom exhaust fan doesn't work. The staff never changed they roll-a way sheets. Had to tell the staff to clean the room. then when I got home the charged me for blanket and linens. One apartment owner has a rat in his place, the problem still was not resolved when I left 2-4-23. read more

We are staying at this hotel from 11/13/22 - 11/18/22 and have come to realize this hotel offers below the norm service and holds back material information that will affect potential travelers decision to stay at this hotel. 1. This hotel pre-charges its reserved customer, holding you hostage of its horrible service. This hotel is undergoing renovations and construction noise can be heard everywhere. We had the misfortune of staying next door of another bungalow where the workers are working on a sharing wall. We have to live through the pounding and no-stop noise. The offered to move us to an upstairs room from an ocean front bungalow but would not refund the difference. They also offered us to leave, but told us no refund will be issued. 2. This hotel does NOT provide daily room cleaning service. When we went to inquire after realizing no room service was provided after our first day of stay, we were informed that it would be provided on a third day of our stay. Yesterday was our third day of stay, but NO service was provided. We had to go pick up clean towels and drop off dirty ones. This is certainly abnormal hotel services and should be published to inform your service users. read more

Please read the most recent reviews before booking. The new management staff at Breezy Palms is horrible!!!!! I hope the owner sees this reviews and reevaluates how long standing customers are treated. I'm extremely disappointed our stay at Breezy is ending on such a negative note. This trip we walked into a bedroom full of standing water from a leaky a/c. We reported the issue to the office and were asked if we could fix it ourselves and were handed towels to soak up the water. The maintenance man did not come for three days after we complained about the standing water two more times. He was unable to fix the leak, he cleaned it up and provided us with more towels to soak up the water. The cleaning staff coming every 3 days under the guise of covid is laughable - when they do come the bare minimum is done , beds aren't made , floor isn't clean etc. You have to chase staff around to get fresh towels - if there are any. Getting one roll of paper towels for a week long stay- again laughable. You definitely aren't getting what you pay for. The new updates are mainly cheap Ikea and Amazon furniture, the pictures online definitely don't match the in person experience. Customer service has much more of an impact. My family and extended family have been visiting Breezy for 30+ years (there are about 20 of us), & over the years we've dealt with plenty of issues - roaches, rats, broken refrigerators, broken a/c, broken showers, boat slip issues - despite the issues we've been extremely loyal patrons and returned summer after summer. Never complained, never asked for discounts when things were broken. We don't come to Breezy for 5 star amenities we come because it's a place where we can all be together for a week in the beautiful Keys. Every year upon checkout for the last 30 years we've been able to renew our reservations for the next year and pay a deposit. This year we were told our rooms were already reserved for next year and there were no available rooms for us and we'd have to find a new place to stay. If this is the new Breezy policy an email or phone call from management would have been nice. The new manager Claudio seems to dislike families that have been staying at the resort for decades, he made several comments about how he runs things differently. When Larry was manager you felt like you were part of the family, now you feel like a dollar sign. It's not the kind of treatment you'd expect from a family run establishment. read more

My daughter and I booked one night for July 3, 2022. Unfortunately I was taken to the Emergency Room on July 1, 2022. On July 2nd, we called to see if we could change the date since I was admitted. We were told by the Owner/Manager no, I asked if someone else could take our place for that night since it was already paid for and again the answer was no. We were told that we would had to have cancelled 7 days prior (it was in the email confirmation). When I asked what if I have COVID his reply was "we would have refunded you". After a great visit Last January (2021) we decided to return for a longer visit this year. We actually met the owner "Jim" at the pool (2021) and he seemed to be an affable person. We checked in on Thursday January 6, 2022 and were assigned room 205. At first look we were very happy with the room which overlooked the pool among other great views. Having a full kitchen was an added convenience that would enhance our vacation. On Friday morning we discovered many roaches all over the kitchen and immediately reported this to the office. They sent a maintenance person to our room to treat for this issue. On Saturday morning there was still roach activity and I reported this to the General Manager of the facility. Very quickly the conversation became "terse" as the GM became a bit combative after he acknowledged they experienced issues with roaches in room 205 prior to our arrival. We requested our room to be changed so they could properly address the issue but that request was denied. After discussions with others at the resort they corroborated our opinion of the GM's level of customer service (or lack thereof). On Friday evening my wife went to reheat her to-go dinner ($35) from the night before(kept in the fridge) - when she opened the microwave there were roaches all over her meal. Ultimately they replaced the microwave as it was possibly infested. Other employees that we encountered were Great: - Daniel - The Maintenance person mentioned above - Sally - Front Desk person that checked us in - Patricia - Office Manager They attempted to address the issue with additional cleaning and a visit from a professional exterminator (who was aware of the issue predating our check-in) but their attempts failed to stop the roach activity. We requested to speak to the owner (Jim) and after learning he was on site and he declined to speak with us. Not real happy with that level of Customer Service. Saturday afternoon (Jan 15) we went into the office to show a video of yet more roach activity; when the GM heard my voice, he closed his office door and did not come out. Now it's check-out day and we discovered additional roaches in one of the kitchen cabinets. Our Conclusion: This is a nice, quiet resort with good amenities but "dated" with some furnishings nearing "end of life" and the rooms are NOT ADA Compliant. All in all this experience left a "bad taste" which may prevent us from selecting this resort for our vacations in future years. read more

By far my favorite resort in the Keys. I've been here at least a dozen times with my family as a child and now as an adult. The best prices for whatever size room you need and the friendliest staff around. We had something unfortunate come up and they even let us checkout a day earlier and refund the cost of the day! Not enough kind words can be said about the staff here. Also the location is perfect. A wonderful large pool with a shower outside (so no need to run back to the room after some beach/snorkeling fun). A nice beach area. A marina if you have a boat. And great snorkeling right off the back pier, as well as fishing. All in all, Breezy Palms will continue to be my resort of choice and should be yours too! read more

Paradise lost! Ok... So, I have been staying at this resort for more than 15 years. My favorite little piece of paradise. I'm sad to say, this is probably the last time I'll stay here. Where do I start, the beach area has been taken over by iguanas and all that comes with them. There was feces everywhere. Forget walking barefoot. Forget using the barbecue. It is now a warming pad for the monster iguanas. The pool was cloudy, slimy and in serious need of chemicals. The rooms are outdated. The bathroom door didn't shut. The toilet didn't flush properly and the shower was nasty. The bedding and curtains are the same ones that were there the first time I stayed there. It's sad because this really was a secret little treasure by the sea. I have recommended this resort to many of my friends. Now, I will turn to them to find a new place. I hope they take the time to read my review and do something about the current state of the property. It really was such a great place in its prime. It's time for renovations my friends. read more

I stayed her to come for a little staycation away from the Ft. Lauderdale area and we have stayed here a few years ago. The place is still dated which we expected because of the price point, however, the 2 bedroom unit that we stayed in nickel and domed us for an additional fee for the extra vehicle and the dishwasher not available for use and the drain in the kitchen would not drain. The bathrooms were not very clean and the most important part that made me disgusted was the general manager and the way he treated the guest in front of me and said as he walked out after his awful communication with him -- "is he a checkout?" And then he replied - "good". Then as I proceeded to ask my simple question to the sweet staff about the extra space he jumped in and verified that he was RIGhT and very arrogant manner said we told you in the email this information. Then he went back to his computer area and slapped the desk... like a child, Again as I walked with the nice receptionist as I was getting ice he asked - is that a checkout? And then he said "good" again. I don't think I have ever been talked to by any guest services staff that way!!!! I spoke to many people at the docks that have stayed many times about that awful experience and they said -- it is not the same as it used to be with the management-- like one person asked for their door to be fixed and they took the door off??? Me, my children and now their children have spent the same week of July every year with the same group of people who we literally refer to as our "keys family". Life long friendships have been made over the years. We were dedicated patrons through mold infested rooms, leaking ceilings, broken a/c's, non functioning stoves and refrigerators that barely kept your food cold. Not to mention the broken sofa beds and and water pressure not comparable to the flow out of a watering can. Yet, we kept coming. We did not come for the 5 star accommodations, we tolerated them because we got from Being with our friends was more valuable. We came to spend a carefree week with our keys family. I have seen ownership and management change hands several times over the years and NEVER have I encountered such a pompous and arrogant Manager. New Management has destroyed this 4 decade tradition. They have 0 people skills. At first, the general manager seemed friendly and accommodating. That quickly changed. He does not like to be questioned. He hides behind his office door and avoids you. The front office cuts secrets deals with people (not realizing WE ALL TALK). They mess up reservations, and whenever you have a question about reservations the system is magically down. To the owner Jim, I hope you read these reviews and see there is a trend. The best and worst advertisement for your resort is word of mouth. This is a nice laid back hotel/motel boat ramp can get tight and crowded but they do their best with accommodating by unhooking and moving your trailer. Let me start by saying that the staff are very friendly and accommodating and the location outdoors is well kept however this "resort" is in disrepair and in desperate need of renovation!!! We rented the 2 bedroom "suite". The furniture looks like it's been there for 30 years. The kitchen is literally falling apart. The master bathroom shower liner had mold on it. The second bathroom had a rub the was conpl cracked down the center. It was also so slippery we had to ask them for a bath mat for fear of falling. The bathroom floor tiling is all cracked. The tv's are old and had terrible picture quality. The master bedroom ac did not work so they put a window ac unit in. The kitchen was falling apart and the coffee maker was disgusting. I was hesitant to stay here after reading some of the negative reviews, but my experience was mostly positive. Great location...right on the water and near many places to do things...true, the rooms are not the most modern, but for the cost I will take it....and I will go back again. I found the staff to be courteous and informative...no complaints at all there....and the price was outstanding! I stayed in March during Spring Break and was greatly surprised that a) it was not very expensive and b) they did not have a 3-night minimum. Only thing I would like to change next time is to try and get a room not so close to Route 1...our room was right next to the road so I was woken up a few times during the night by loud vehicles driving by. We had a lovely visit while here for a swim race around the lighthouse. The room was clean and the space was large! More like a suite than a hotel room. The patio space was nice. The dock and grounds were nice, we flew a kite and had a picnic at one of the outdoor tables. The pool was a great place to play with the kids. read more

My girlfriend made us reservations two months ago to stay here from 05/27/22 - 05/31/22 as a birthday gift. It was going to be my first time visiting the keys. Today, 05/25/22, we received an email saying that our stay was canceled by the resort. When I called to inquire about the situation the manager told me that they released the room and there was nothing that they could do to accommodate us. We were not notified prior to the cancellation and they could not give me a reason for the cancellation. The manager also was very unprofessional. Probably the least professional "manager" I have dealt with in my lifetime. When asked how we were going to be accommodated for our booking he exploded and began screaming obscenities at me. "Go f*** yourself" over and over. At this point I am glad that the stay was canceled. With a manager like this, I can't imagine the resort has a comfortable feel to it. This gives us the opportunity to stay at a more welcoming and accommodating location. The rates today are far higher then they were when we initially booked. Amazing "beach" area, friendly staff, super clean, well priced. We had a blast here. Our party- myself, my sister, my mother, my 20 month old son, and my college roommate joined us from Orlando for a couple nights. The pros: very few places in the keys have a beach area, and these guys do. It's super super nice with lots of seating and plenty of shade. The sand is a little coarse and the swimming area is laughable, but there's plenty of swimming off the jetty. The staff was incredibly friendly. We had a bit of a bedbug scare (which turned out to be something else), but the manner in which they handled was incredibly professional, and I felt comfortable going back to the bed after they looked into the situation. Great pool, too. Overall, this is exactly what you go to the keys looking for, and it was reasonably priced. Cons: Sofa sleeper. HORRIBLE. Quite possibly the most uncomfortable sleeping apparatus I've ever had the displeasure of attempting to use. That they charge for people sleeping on it (and again when my old roommate showed up) is a crime against humanity. Furnishings are tired, tired, tired- but that's normal for the keys, especially considering the price point. Final minor gripe- the room REEKED of bleach after every time it was cleaned. Sure, there's some comfort in knowing the room is clean, but you shouldn't have to wait to use it because it's so strong. The doormat was sopping wet upon our arrival. No bathtub, which made bathing my toddler an ordeal. Overall, I'll definitely at least consider staying again, but I'll make sure everyone has a bed and no one is sleeping on the medieval torture rack in the living room. The rooms were dirty when we checked in, the shower wouldn't drain so it got all over the floor and the room smelt like mildew, they tried charging extra for things that were broken on their end and the front desk people are snappy. This place looks like a motel from the outside (pink walls, blue doors, etc) but it's actually very clean and beachy in the inside! We staying in a poolside apartment and it had a lovely kitchen stocked with utensils, pots, plates, etc. The kitchen also leads into a veranda that overlooks the pool. We haven't tried the pool, but like the room, it looks very clean (maybe a bit small though)! The resort itself is oceanfront with a great place to dock a boat, but the "beach" is not that great (rough "sand", merky water). However, they do have a volleyball net set up which is pretty fun. Other: free parking; shitty unreliable wifi Overall, definitely enjoyed the stay! Next time we might look to stay somewhere with more sand and less dock, but still a very enjoyable experience! read more

This has to be the worst place I've stayed at with the worst customer service. Listed here is the list: 1. AC not working properly and it was hot for 2 nights. AC tech came out at night and just took about, literally, 2 minutes and said it was fixed...that night it continued to stay hot. They provided a fan but I can not tolerate a fan because of sore throat. 2. When I called again the front desk to inform them that the AC was still not working, they told me to wait until the next morning or to go to another hotel near by. Since when do you send your customers to another hotel. 3. When the AC tech came in the following day he just changed the thermostat and said it was fixed. Well guess what?? It was not. So I informed the front desk, especially that I am pregnant, about it and they told me that there was nothing they can do. By this time, I was mad especially that I was pregnant. The front desk told me that if I was happy, that I should go to another hotel. Now, that's NOT how you handle customer service. 3. Boat slips: very complicated to take your boat and storage of trailer for boats looks like a hot mess. No security guards are around at all during the day nor night to keep boats secure. Anyone can pull in through the marina on a boat and steal anyone's boat. 4. On check out day: When I went to check out, they charged me twice for marina. I had already paid my stay and marina for our boat upfront and CASH but when I saw the extra charge for it, they kept denying that I never paid. Of course since I had paid everything CASH upfront, they know they can play with customers. When I asked to speak to manager of the property because I really deserved some kind of compensation for those hot nights and that I was pregnant and didn't deserve that treatment of lack of AC in the room, the lady from the front desk said that the manager said that he wasn't going to compensate me for anything at all. He told her and she told me that next time for me to find another hotel. By this time, I was fuming because how can you tell your customers, especially a pregnant woman, to find another hotel?? What's wrong with them?!?!? However, I told the lady that I was pregnant and didn't deserve that treatment and she told me that she was sorry and that it wasn't her problem that I was pregnant. 4. The rooms need major renovations. Kitchens are outdated. Bedroom is outdated. Their comforters and decorations are outdated. Smells like humidity in the rooms. Carpets should be removed and tiles should be on all floors inside all apartments and rooms. 5. Bathroom: outdated! Tub is some kind of plastic temporary bathtub. 6. Exterior of resort is outdated. This has been the worst experience of my life. I would definitely NEVER stay there. I felt like a MISTREATED pregnant woman. They didn't even care. One of the major things that had me even more upset was that when I told the lady that I was pregnant and didn't deserve that treatment, she told me that she was sorry and that it wasn't her problem that I was pregnant. This was the best resort that we have stayed in in quite some time. We found this Resort by accident, which is usually the best places that you find. Yes this was the best place that we have found in the last 2 years of traveling. The location is easy to find, the rooms are completely spotless, housekeeping was awesome if you ever needed anything all you had to do is ask, the people in the office A1 never met a more friendly people or knowledgeable employees. We are even planning on taking our family that next year. Taking our family is one thing that we have never done since they have grown but this place is very beautiful and special and relaxing. I'm not sure where to start! After staying at this resort for several years this year has really put a bad taste in our mouths due to the lack of upgrades. We stayed at the oceanfront efficiency. The bedroom was ok and fairly clean but the door leading to the kitchen was broken so we couldn't close it to avoid lights in the am. The bathroom was disgusting with what looked like black mold, and fingerprints all over the doors. We had to fetch our own extra bath towels (I was told they were short-staffed) and when asked for a new roll of toilet paper we were told it was the last one left. They also don't have cleaning services. The shower curtain was ripped and old and the shower itself was rusty all over. The floors were oh so dirty I wouldn't put my feet on them. As for the kitchen, the refrigerator also had fingerprints all over the door and black spots but the inside was clean. Only 2 burners worked on the stove as well. The patio needs a ceiling fan and the ceiling was all broken up with electrical wires hanging which I would think would be a hazard. The sliding glass doors were stuck most of the time. I have been in the Beach Cottage was so much nicer. We paid over 900. for just 4 nights and this was just not worth it at all. We spent much of our time outdoors just to get away from the room. One last thing, we had to pay for ice. Most places have free ice. Hopefully, it gets better because it was always a good place to visit. read more
