Good food. I had the salmon Benedict and my husband has the vegetarian breakfast burrito. The system they have in place for ordering is pretty bizarre. There were a ton of empty tables, but instead of letting people sit down and order from a server, they ask you to wait in line and order at the counter. Just in town over night and a different restaurant was recommended to us but it was a drive and we decided we wanted to stay downtown. We were the first ones there on a Friday morning. Jose was super friendly and welcoming and shared some of her favourites with us. We were a bit off out initially as we had to order from the host and pay and then someone would bring our food out to us. Generally prefer a more typical restaurant set up but this was super efficient. Our server was on the ball and he kept our drinks filled and brought our food out so quickly. We stopped by here for brunch while waiting for the New Year's Eve festivities. The line was long but moved pretty quickly. You place your order and a server will find a table for you. Pretty good way to help keep the lines moving. Corn beef and hash: tasty and wanted more. The tater tots were really good too. Their kids meal is a good deal. They have a huge dog friendly patio and a beautifully decorated interior seating area. My seafood omelette had huge chunks of lobster and Danish cheese. I am somewhat confused by prior Yelp reviews regarding the food here as it was rated very high. While the breakfast wasn't bad, the food we ordered was just your typical breakfast fare. It was okay (good) but nothing spectacular. I usually like ordering chilaquiles when it is offered on the menu so this is what I ordered. Our table also ordered the vegetable omelet, the gluten free waffles and the corned beef hash and eggs. Everyone agreed their breakfast was good but nothing to write home about. The star of the dishes in my opinion were the crispy tater tots. We arrived at 8:00am so we were able to walk right in and get seated after placing our order at the register. The food came out so quickly you have to wonder whether some of their food is already pre made. While the chilaquiles was good I've definitely had much better. The service was excellent but I'm sorry, the food was nothing to get excited about. I did enjoy looking at the napkin sketches posted on bulletin boards. We got the meat omelette and the spicy omelette. They were both packed with flavor and meat. The sauce on the spicy omelette was nice, it wasn't spicy but it did provide great flavor. We also subbed out the toast with the danish pancake. The pancake kind of looks like a crepe, it was so yummy and filling. The sweetness was balanced and the added berries offered a great balance.
