Crab cake Eggs Benedict with tater tots
    Jennifer C.

There's nothing more enjoyable than starting your day out with a good breakfast. I had not been to Solvang in years, so on the way back from the Monterey Peninsula to LA, we stopped at this quaint little town. After finding street parking but discovery a lot later, we waited in a short line to place our order before finding a table. The wait wasn't too long for our orders to arrive. The servers were doing their best during a busy morning. The only downside was only one uni restroom for entire restaurant.

Food Wife and I spent our last day in Solvang having brunch at Brekkies after having been recommended online. We weren't overly hungry so the wife and I just shared a 3 cheese Omelette with a side of danish sausage, and I ordered a cold brew for me. The cold brew came in a glass bottle and it was pretty good. I loved the smoothness of the coffee and would definitely recommend it. The 3 cheese Omelette was pretty good and a classic brunch order. The accompanying tater tots were crunchy and not overly greasy. The danish sausage itself was a nice side to the overall meal Service/Ambiance We had arrived at right around opening, and there was already a line out the door since you order your food at the counter and then you get assigned a seat. The wait wasn't too long probably around 10-15 minutes. The staff were really nice and accommodating and service for the food was reasonable. Overall our favorite brunch at solvang and we would definitely come back

Doc had researched this place for us to get breakfast. At check in we were told a table would be ready once they cleared one off for us. Enjoyed my waffles with additional fruit cup. Doc and hubs had their crepes. So funny the waitress tells us I saw you folks last night for dinner at Red Barn. Déjà vu! And here the very next morning here she was bright and early remembering us. Popular eatery. We arrived just before the crowd arrived and a long waiting line formed outside. Good place to have your first meal of the day. Coffee was refilled by Hannah too. Nice atmosphere, food arrived quickly.

Nice restaurant off Mission Dr. You take a menu from the front and order with the staff first, then get sat down either inside or outside. Workers were polite and answered one of my questions. For soft drinks, they have Coke products. It does not say specifically on their menu. Inside has a lot of room for customers and the ability to combine tables. Outside was nice as well, with umbrellas for shade and more room. Food and drinks came out fast. The cups were a bit smaller than normal. The food was delicious. We got Chilaquiles and Spicy & Hot Omlette that comes with Tator Tots and Toasted Bread. Everything tasted great with no issues. There is only 1 bathroom, so there will be a line. It was clean inside though. I would come back again!

I love breakfast! I had an omelette that was called a spicy hot and the salsa that they put on it was sooo good! Not to much heat but good flavor and of course you can't go wrong with tots! The service was pretty quick for a Sunday brunch hour! There was a lot of people there but the turn around was quick! It looks small but has a lot of room inside. Just a quick note: this is a place you order and pay at the counter and than they find you a place to sit. Your choice of inside or out.

You will see a long line but it goes by incredibly fast with the system they created and food comes out so fast! I got the salmon Benedict and it was pretty tasty I would return next time I'm in solvang

Solvang Brunch with the girls~ Cutest little downtown! We requested to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air and the waitress made sure that we were always catered to.

Food at Brekkie in Solvang was great, and the service overall was good. Just be prepared for long lines -- we waited about 49 minutes to order. What really disappointed us was an interaction with one staff member regarding seating. We understand the policy about not saving tables, and normally that would be completely fine. However, we were next in line to order, there were still plenty of open tables at the time, and we were with 5 kids, a baby, and a senior citizen grandmother. While the parents were ordering, our grandma sat down with the children thinking it would be okay since we had already waited so long and were about to order. Unfortunately, a staff member came over yelling at us and aggressively shooing us away from the table. The way she spoke to our grandmother felt extremely rude and unnecessary. A little kindness and consideration would have gone a long way, especially with children and elderly family members involved. I don't want to make assumptions or turn this into a bigger issue, but the interaction left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was disappointing because the food itself was genuinely very good. Hopefully management can address how situations like this are handled in the future, because no customer should feel disrespected while dining with their family.

Definitely loved the experience of coming to a brunch place right in Solvang. Expect an hour wait ish and then pay in front and get the danish pancakes!!! Cool interior as well and good service even though it was too busy for the waiter to come by. Skip the coffee.

Brekkies was hands down the best food my family and I had while on our mini vacation in Solvang! We arrived around 8:30am on a Saturday to a small line, but it moved fairly quickly. You order at the counter and then they have you sit at a table - they do not allow you to sit before ordering which I liked. It allows for the kitchen and staff to stay on top of orders and to help everything run smoothly - plus it cuts down on allowing people to save tables. We ordered the Belgian Waffle, Corned Beef Hash, Biscuits and Gravy and Danish Pancake. Everything was fresh and delicious, including the coffee and fresh squeezed OJ! The inside has a decent amount of seating, I believe there might have been an additional room as well, plus outdoor seating. Staff were very friendly and personable! They came around and checked on us, refilled water/coffee and cleaned plates. Overall, we absolutely loved this place - we almost came back again on Sunday, but the line was really long and we needed to get on the road to head home! Fun fact: Brekkies is British slang for...breakfast! Also, the owner of Brekkies also owns 2 or 3 other businesses in town included Chomp Burgers which was also very good! If you're ever in Solvang and looking for a breakfast/brunch spot, I highly suggest checking out Brekkies!

    Corned Beef Hash ($16.50)

Pretty solid breakfast for a reasonable price, although nothing worth waiting in line for. My mom and I shared their signature danish pancakes and a corned beef hash. The pancakes were reminiscent of a mix between a crepe and pancake with a subtle sweet eggy flavor. I enjoyed that it wasn't supper dense or overly sweet. Simple and plain. We also liked the corned beef hash but the portion for it wasn't great. Tater tots and bread helped to fill us up. We got here around 10:45AM and waited in line until around 11AM to order at the front, then got seated immediately after. Food came out at 11:15AM. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a very homey cozy looking spot that looks like a neighborhood favorite.

My sister and I came here for breakfast. It did not disappoint. Great car of breakfast. I ordered chilaquiles with a Bellini and my sister had a veggie omelette with orange juice. I have to say my favorite was the beans. They were so flavorful, a nice surprise from never having to notice beans tasting so great. You come in order and pay. Then they will give you a number. The drinks and food came quick. Everything was good. This was one of my sister's favorite places to eat. Service was great. They came often to check, all staff were youngsters truly working. The ambiance is very cool. At the entrance there's several napkin drawings. So many talented artists. Some of my favorites were the Solvang town and yoda. Plenty of table and booth seating inside. There's also outdoor seating.

This place was AMAZING for breakfast! I went twice while I town. The spicy omelet with andouille was delicious and so fresh! It had a kick to it and you didn't even need to had a hot sauce! Great coffee as well. Loved sitting on the patio with great weather. Service was lovely. Highly recommend if you are in Solvang!!

The crispy potatoes were so good, they held up well the next day as well! I highly recommend getting the caramelized onions added to the mac and cheese. As we passed by, the enticing menu caught our eyes, especially the children's skirt steak and fries--exactly what I wanted for her! However, I have to admit, the prices were on the higher side, which is typical for this type of restaurant. Still, given what we were paying, I was surprised by the lack of attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness. There was quite a bit of dust on the ledge near our table, which triggered my allergies and led to a couple of sneezes. To add to the disappointment, our rolls arrived well after our entrées. By the time we finally got them, they were cold and a bit hard. When they did reach our table, a server in training accidentally dropped a salt and pepper shaker into our plate of rolls, and surprisingly, didn't seem to think twice about it. On a brighter note, our main server was delightful, and the beef stroganoff was nothing short of heavenly. The meat was incredibly tender, and the mushrooms swimming in red wine sauce were a true highlight. I did find it a bit off-putting to see a surprise 2% surcharge tagged on to cover labor expenses. Honestly, I'd prefer higher menu prices that reflect the actual costs, rather than this nickel-and-dime approach. Employees deserve fair wages, but those extra fees can be frustrating. After all was said and done, my child's meal, my beef stroganoff, and just two rolls--with tax, a tip, and that extra charge--brought our total to just under $100. When I asked to take my leftovers home, I was handed a container to pack it all myself. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm spending that kind of money, I expect a bit more attentive service.
