Yesterday I was in the area to watch a motivational speaker and drove past Penguins yogurt! I was…read moreso excited because when I was a little girl I used to LOVE Penguins frozen yogurt back in Lancaster locations. Upon entering I was so excited telling the owner about when I was younger, but they did mention it's not the same from all those years ago. This didn't stop me though I was here for frozen yogurt! They have a handful of ice cream and frozen yogurt options and you're allowed to do a taste test before ordering. I went with the cookies and cream low fat frozen yogurt and it was delicious, soft and smooth. As for price, I felt like $5 seems like allot for a medium with zero toppings, but I was happy to support this small business and it was very delicious. It isn't exactly the same as when I was a kid, but still absolutely perfect consistency and taste. Too bad I live an hour or two away (depending on traffic) or I would stop by once in a while! I definitely recommend stopping by for a cool treat next time you're in the area now that summer is coming!

Besides, it's great bang for the buck given the sizable serving size. We got the medium froyo, mix of peanut butter and original tart, which you could opt for side by side or swirl. As for toppings, they charged $1.95 for each 2 toppings but they're very generous with the portion. We tried cookie dough, cheesecake, pb chips, and chocolate sauce. Taste wise I'd say it's decent. Creamier than I expected, but certainly no complaints.

They offer a great variety of ice cream flavors, and one of the coolest parts was watching them make the waffle cones fresh on the spot. The ice cream itself was rich, creamy, and tasted high quality. Paired with a warm, freshly made waffle cone, it made for an excellent treat. The staff was friendly and happy to offer samples before ordering. One thing to note: if you change your flavor selection after you've already paid, they'll need to process a refund and ring up a new transaction. Overall, we had a great experience. Between the delicious ice cream, fresh waffle cones, and friendly customer service, it's definitely a place I'd visit again!

The flavors are really good but a bit on the sweet side (with the exception of the black sesame cookies & cream flavor). Got a flight (4 half scoops) with: 1. Japanese Neapolitan: 8/10, they scooped the matcha, hojicha, Hokkaido as they recommended that it went really well with black sesame cookies and cream. I only wish the flavors were more fragrant 2. Vietnamese Rocky Road: 7/10, not sure if scooped the right flavor as it didn't taste much like Rocky road or Vietnamese coffee ice cream 3. Pandan Rafaello: 9/10, awesome if you like pandan flavor with white chocolate 4. Black sesame cookies and cream: 9/10, the cookies and cream added creaminess to the black sesame Parking: lot has 4 spots in front, 5-6 on the side, and 5-6 in the back and it's shared with the barbershop next door. Was not hard to find parking TLDR: would definitely come again to try more flavors and they even have a seasonal menu which means you will never run out of delicious flavors to try!

On the menu of Turn Dough is belgian waffles, soft serve gelato, milkshakes and chimney cakes! For those who don't know what chimney cakes are; they are a traditional snack from Hungary that is made from sweet yeast dough that is rolled into a long rope and baked around a cylinder. Here at Turn Dough; you can actually watch them make and bake the chimney cake. It was really hard to choose what dessert to get here as everything looked so yummy. This place happens to be the first place to offer chimney cake in Los Angeles and so you know I just had to try that. Even choosing which chimney cake to get was hard! They've got 18 different types or you can even create your own! From oreo to nutella to coconut to Disney inspired or unicorn inspired; they've got something for everyone! I ended up getting the very cute Minnie Macaron chimney cake which has Italian-style soft-serve gelato, French Macarons, Rainbow sprinkles, and a handmade Minnie Mouse bow on top. It was definitely a magical Disney inspired creation. We also got the Nutella Dream. This one is a must try for Nutella lovers. It's a chocolate delight that even includes Kinder chocolates! Tastewise; I really liked the freshly baked chimney cakes from here. The chimney cakes are so soft and fluffy. My gelato ice cream melted pretty quickly but I still enjoyed the sweet, creamy soft serve. One has the option to get the chimney cake upside down in a cup and I have to say that is not a bad option because it helps with eating the ice cream and you won't have to worry about the oozy, dripping mess hehe that you will get a with a cone. Overall; Turn Dough is a good place for some delightful and sweet treats right by the beach
