Upon entering this fine establishment our handsome host Sebastian warmly greeted us and opened the door and quickly sat us where ever we pleased. I've been ordering a lot from here because I am Stuck in the house following foot surgery. I've been happy with what I ordered until today. I ordered the barbecue burger with onion rings and was very disappointed. First time I came here I didn't like it. Now I come here all the time. Food is good. Try the Chica Bella pizza I am addicted! Also fries are really good. What happened to the bar area?! Holy hell, this place is now legit modern and progressive! A rare gem in Sussex County. This has nothing to do with the food which looked good When we got there most of the staff was on the back deck. We were seated very quickly and for the next 15 minutes nothing, no drinks no appetizers no waitress. 3 girls were sitting people the rest of the staff hung out behind the bar, we finally got up and left and no one seemed to care. Sad coming in initially because this was my favorite Japanese place but I had to see the renovations. What a pretty place and great atmosphere. It was comfortable and designed nicely. I love there personal sized pizzas. The Brooklyn and white cauliflower are favorites. There wings and dinners are excellent as well. Ok. My wife and I finally checked out Brick and Brew last night. Seated pretty quickly and our waitress came right out to take our drink order. Bread showed up quickly and the idea of an iced bottle of water in a snap-top bottle was cool. We ordered an order of fried calamari and a dozen steamers for our appetizers. The calamari was perfectly cooked- piping hot, crunchy crust, tender and wonderful. The tomato sauce served with the calamari was overly-sweet a la chef boy ar dee. We had to fish out lemon slices out of our diet cokes. So... half fail on the calamari. The steamers were well-prepared, as well. A big bowl with a dozen cherry-stone sized clams swimming in a garlicky white-wine sauce with fresh basil! They were great! I would have really enjoyed a few pieces of crusty bread to mop up the broth with but... no such luck. Seems like attention to detail is a bit lax. For our meals: I ordered the rib eye steak topped with crabmeat stuffed shrimp and a "loaded" baked potato. My wife ordered a pasta and chicken dish. I got a salad with mine- she ordered Italian Wedding soup with hers. The salad was nice- good variety of fresh greens and a nice side dish of (possibly?) home-made bleu cheese dressing. My wife's soup was some sort of chicken broth with over cooked orzo and a weird combo of vegetables. NOT Italian wedding soup but... whatever. Now. After eating our salad (and NOT eating the soup) we'd been in the restaurant for about 45 minutes. We expected our dinners pretty much right after our soup and salad but... nothing. And nothing. And... nothing. An hour and 15 minutes into our visit our waitress stopped at our table and told us that the "ticketing system had screwed up" and that only half of our order had been prepared. We looked at each other, shrugged, and re-ordered. Waitress promised us 10-15 minutes. At the 1:45 minute mark my wife was just preparing to cancel the order and walk out as our meals arrived. I'd asked for a medium steak... it was bloody-rare. My "loaded" baked potato was just a potato with bacon bits and lots of melted cheddar cheese. No sour cream, no green onions... I sort of expected more stuff on my potato. My wife's dish was supposed to be white beans and chicken over bow tie pasta with broccoli on a garlic cream sauce. It was ok- we found about 10 beans in the whole dish. It was basically just ... meh? So-so? Our waitress told us that to make up for the long wait, desert was on the house. We got a piece of cheesecake and a piece of key lime pie, to go. All things being equal- our waitress was super nice and I tipped her more than %20 regardless of the goof ups. The place was nicely done and the overall service was fine... even considering the 2-hour time investment. I think they need to brush up on some details... bread, sauce, garnishes... but I just finished eating the rest of my rib eye (I took a good-sized leftover plate home) and it was really quite tasty. I'm looking forward to snacking on my key like pie later on. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. Good food, reasonable prices, good service. Seating is limited but I don't remember ever waiting more than 5 mins to sit down. You can even do takeout food. I LOVE their garlic wings. Steaks, burgers, pizza it's all excellent food. Only one bathroom for each sex is sometimes a drawback. read more

Our first visit last week and we wanted to try everything. I had the chicken parm and it was amazing. We also ordered the hot wings with fresh garlic. So yummy. Arrived for dinner at 7:15pm...told 30-45 minute wait...turned out to be 30 minutes. No real waiting area except bar that is downstairs. Bar is reasonably large and one can order food to either sit at the bar or at tables in the bar area. This area is very noisy as compared to the upstairs restaurant. Upstairs is not quiet, but it is a more comfortable conversational noisy. Downstairs bar: While at the bar I asked the barmaid if she could make a marguerita..absolutely!...ah!, not so fast...no salt for the rim of the glass...also no proper glass for the marguerita (wine glass substitute)...decided to get a black&tan beer....oops! no Guinness on tap....settled for a Yuengling lager...cold and crisp taste...good choice.! Also ordered a glass of wine....decent wine selection...however, the 'pour' seemed skimpy... before we had a chance to order a second drink, we were called (via cellphone) to go upstairs for our reservation. BTW...the barmaid and bartenders were very busy and yet very helpful and polite. Upstairs restaurant: Nice casual atmosphere, nice spacing between tables. Waitress was very nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. Ordered fried calamari appetizer...a little disappointing...order was just 'warm' (another 2 minutes and it would have been cold). Also, it was greasy...need to be drained better before serving...however, the texture was very nice, not overcooked. One observation though...it appeared that the calamari was from frozen packages...only ringlets were served...unless a new variety of squid has evolved in recent weeks, there existed no squid 'bodies/tentacles' in the order. Now, I know some people don't like this part of the squid, BUT! Ordered another round of drinks...wine 'pour' again seemed skimpy...questioned the waitress as to the pour volume and she told us that management has directed them to pour 4ozs...REALLY? The standard industry pour is 6ozs...and even in NYC (we dine/drink there at least once a week) the pour is 5ozs. Now, this is not the wait staff's fault, so management needs to rethink this policy. Ordered shrimp scampi with vegetables rather than pasta...very nice to have vegetables as an alternative...taste was excellent...six x-large shrimp was proper amount...shrimp was cooked perfectly...next time may ask for the veggies on the side as they were soaking up a lot of the sauce and becoming mushy...some will like it that way, others not...simply a personal choice. Second main dish was the 'Antipasto Salad' (not the hot antipasto appetizer)...the size of this dinner salad is UNBELIEVABLE....greens were crisp, hot peppers were plentiful, ham, cheese, black olives, etc. was more than expected...dressing on the side... Now, the waitress told me that the salad was large, but I figured it couldn't be all that filling so I added grilled chicken to the salad...BIG MISTAKE! on my part...never got to the chicken...took it home along with about a third of the salad and had it for dinner the next night. The chicken was delicious and still very moist. So overall a nice experience. We will be back. But you may be wondering whether 3 stars is enough. Well, except for Restaurant LaTour at Crystal Springs, there are no restaurants in Sussex County that approach 5 stars...and LaTour probably only gets 4 1/2 stars. So that then leaves a 4 star rating as the top and right now Brick & Brew has some minor flaws that need to be addressed. I will provide an update following our next visit. read more

Finally saw this place was open and stopped for a late lunch. Pizza was really great, we had the Brooklyn & Red Red Vine. Only reason for the 4 stars is their beer selection. When you've got "Brew" in your restaurant name in 2017 that means craft beer selection. They had 10 taps, 1 was vodka lemonade, so that left 9 for beer. 4 were: Bud, Bud Light, Miller Light and Yuengling. Ummm for beer lovers those aren't beer sorry. The only semi-decent was Goose IPA and their Sams Seasonal which still aren't that special. Of course they had Blue Moon as well. Will be back for pizza and to try other menu items but really hope they up theirs beer game! read more

Same stuff as most restaurants here in the area for the most part. The atmosphere was nothing exciting and this food was ok. Stopped in today for a late lunch as we've heard about this place and wanted to try it, ordered the mussels as an appetizer and two pizzas, the mussels were cooked right and the sauce was very good , we enjoyed it... the wife ordered a gluten-free pizza with toppings that she enjoyed and I ordered the Brooklyn style that was good.. My only complaint was it was a little bit oily other than that not bad..... our waitress was very friendly and the service was great, the decor and feel of the the place is very warm and welcoming... As for the drinks my wife ordered a drink that she enjoyed and I got a beer ,I wish they would have more craft beers on tap, but maybe in the future.. We will go back again read more

Incredible pizza. My first Jersey pizza in the area. Staff was nice and very attentive. Beer selection was limited, but they did have some brew off the beaten path. Had a pepperoni and sausage pizza, not crumbled sausage, but sliced sausage. A nice surprise, took home their buffalo chicken sandwich...a lot of bread and little meat, tasty but unsatisfying. Definitely a must for pizza. I'll try a different sandwich next time. read more
