I've been here 5 or 6 times. It has a bustling atmosphere and extensive drink menu, but the food and the service are hit or miss. Today, the food was unpleasant and the customer service was worse. Instead of getting assistance from the manager about a dish we couldn't stomach, we got lectured and dismissed. No one's ever complained about this dish before, she tells us. It's supposed to taste this way, she says. Rather than letting us return it to the kitchen for something else (anything else), she told us to keep eating it! I asked for the check instead. 4:30 pm. Packed but no wait. We like to sit bar side but no seats available. Sat right away at table... gorgeous decor. Love the tables on runners. Bathroom was beautiful with the trough sink and shiplap walls. Waitress arrived with water, explained the menu, made good recommendations. I had the specialty drink "speakeasy" omg YUM. We. Ordered from the specials menu. Mango Habanero Wings, Fried mac and cheese with Gruyere and pancetta....both were spectacular. From runners and waitress constant checking on our water and drink levels without being intrusive. It was noisy in a fun way, music was perfect. Food out of this world. Can't wait to go back. Heard great things about the prosciutto fries. Alas, the cheese sauce was thick and goopy, with salty chunks of meat mixed in. Also tried the fried pickles, but found them too sweet with greasy, heavy breading. Beers are limited (as are the waiter's knowledge of them) if you're an aficionado. The hostesses had to seriously think it over when we asked to sit at a cramped two top "are you ordering food?" even though the bar was elbow to elbow. Overall, very disappointed and will not be back anytime soon. read more

The boyfriend and I love being adventurous and trying new restaurants in our surrounding area. Brick & Brew did not disappoint! We went here on my birthday on a Friday night. It was poppin but the wait was quick! We started with their signature drink the Whiskey sour, it was one of the most amazing things I have ever drank! Then we proceeded to order a smorgasbord of amazing dishes. Some of our favorites were the incredible slab of bacon that melted in your mouth and the short rib grilled cheese. I guess this place is selective in who they want to serve. Party of 10--wanted to sit and have a few drinks at 2 tables that were unoccupied (40 minutes later, still empty). Waitress told us we couldn't sit there to just have drinks, but how did they know we wouldn't have decided to order food after a few beverages?? Waitress told us to leave, it was very unprofessional. Brick and Brew not only has a phenomenal staff and creative cocktails, but their food is delicious as well. The burger and flatbread sandwiches are flavorful and tasty, and it has a relaxed, rustic environment. I definitely recommend the Speakeasy drink, but always show up early since it's usually packed on the Friday nights and weekends! read more

This is a great addition to State Street! We went on a Saturday evening and were immediately taken to a nice table. The service was great. The best part of the meal was the cocktails. My husband and I were at the Brick & Brew in Media on Saturday night. We sat at the bar for our dinner and while I think the atmosphere is nice, it feels like they tried to put as many tables in the place as they could....very over crowded. We had a couple of drinks each (which were over priced), the egg appetizer, burger and fish tacos and our bill was pennies away from $100 which I found to be crazy. There are so many other places in Media and surrounding area with the same quality of food for much lower prices. We won't be back to this place anytime soon. read more

Our family was in from out of town and the word on the street was to go straight to B&B! I am so glad we listened! The food was all so original and delish! We started with the hummus and fried pickles (Which were both out of this world!) and my entrée was the calamari salad. I never would have thought to put calamari on a salad, but it totally worked! Went for lunch, service was okay and the food is more expensive than it's worth. I didn't like what I ordered for lunch and when I asked to take off the $14 meal that I took two bites out of and was told by not only my server but the manager that they can't take the food off the bill simply because I didn't like it. After explaining that no one told me that a legitimate fried full crab was going to be on my plate, the manager stated "it's not my fault you're unaware of what a soft shell crab is," I reluctantly paid and at this point the manager and waitress had the worst attitude.. read more

Kind of surprised to see so many mediocre reviews. I've been 2 different times now and absolutely loved every minute. I have sat at the bar each time and had excellent service. Most recently we had the pleasure of having the bartender Steve take care of us on NYE and he was phenomenal. As you can imagine on NYE they were very busy, but service was not sacrificed. My first trip I tried the butternut squash bisque and we all split a few pies. Soup was delicious, one of the best butternut squash soups I've ever had. Pies were all great and cooked well. We fell in love with the Cider House cocktail and I tried a Bloody Mary which was also top notch. I agree the cocktails are pricey, but you get what you pay for and these are clearly made with high quality, often times homemade, ingredients. Overall, I highly recommend. I am thoroughly annoyed at my latest visit to Brick & Brew. Go on a Sunday morning at 11:45, not many customers. We were seated promptly....good so far. Then we order an appetizer, a pizza and a brisket sandwich. Appetizer comes out, but where we are seated I can see the brick oven. I notice that the pepperoni pizza is not being made and we wait and wait and wait. Our server comes over and says your food will be right up and we wait and wait. Our server walks by and by this time I'm annoyed. I ask him when our food was coming he said he doesn't know and that he had them fire it about 20 minutes earlier. He goes back to the kitchen and brings me my sandwich which must have been sitting there for 20 minutes (it was lousy...cold, fatty and not brisket in my opinion) and then he goes over to the cook making the pizzas and he hurries up and puts one in the oven (it was flavorless, very few pieces of pepperoni and as anemic as Casper the Friendly Ghost). For an establishment trying to survive through Covid you have to do much better than that. The server knew my frustration but no effort to try to appease us. To use a baseball phrase; swing and a miss you struck us out. Horrible experience. read more

Move in day at our house. Exhausted and hungry. We started out with the crab dip and procuitto cheese fries. Both were the bomb. Lots of flavor and the onions on the fries were yummy. I had the calamari spinach salad which was delicious. The calamari was tender and the dressing was yummy. My family all really enjoyed their meals of the pulled pork sandwich, the short rib grilled cheese and the pepperoni pizza. We had great timely service. It was a nice ending to an exhausting day. Went here for the first time for dinner on a Saturday night over their opening weekend to sample some food and beer (fried pickles, a mushroom pizza and some crab dip) and obviously the place was packed and hectic, but we still had a manager stop by our table to make sure we had everything we needed. I always give a new restaurant a couple months to come back a few times while it settles in. We came back today and had the veggie panini (delicious!) and one of the new additions to the menu, the Ahi Tuna burger and WOW. I'm a die hard seafood and sushi fan and this burger delivers! We also had an amazing server for the 2nd time, Jillian, who was super attentive, very knowledgeable about the food, and made or experience that much better! We've been here a few times now and are always happy when we have her as our server! This place is great for craft beers that are always fresh, a well rounded menu, and great service! Definitely happy to have this place as an addition to the Media restaurant scene! read more

The food was good and fresh. Service was really good. My dining partner and I ordered the crab dip for an appetizer. I had the crab fritters as my entree (I think it was a special) and they were tasty, but was more fritter than crab. My dining partner had the chicken and waffles. It looked delicious, but was a bit too sweet - she was hoping/expecting that "sweet/salty" taste, but it was just sweet. The servers were very attentive, helpful and fast. We are definitely going to return as there are other things on the menu we want to try. I wish they had the entire menu on their website. They had a lot of other things on the menu that are not on the website menu. Anyway, we'll be back because I think this place did a great job, and there wasn't anything wrong with the food, it was good, but I think we just should've picked other things. Oh, but it was very noisy, and not suitable for a conversation, but it was really crowded. Definitely worth a return trip. :) read more

Super good food. Muscles were DYNAMITE with ample dipping toast to boot. So flipping good !!!! Got flat bread special which was super good, my wife got vegan tacos on special (we aren't vegans ) and these were absolute insane like wow i don't ever use the expression flavor town but holy hell total flavor town!!!! These need to be on the menu permanently!!! My kids had chicken fingers and pizza and both were super good. My only complaint would be it's called brick and brew so i was expecting a super good beer selection and while the selection was good it wasn't great. One recommendation put a couple different types of muscle selections perhaps coconut curry ?! read more

I went to Brick & Brew over the weekend because a friend of mine invited me to go. The place was packed but the servers and food work well. We were seated in roughly 15 to 20 min, which is a average amount of time considering the amount of people. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was in short delicious! A bit on the sweet side on but the cheese used balanced the meal well. My wife ordered the butternut squash bisque. I tried a spoonful and it was good and flavorful. Our friends ordered the catfish p'boy that looked good but my friend ate it so fast that i couldn't try it. His wife ordered the short rib brick oven pizza. We managed to try it! It was very delicious at well, Sweet and tangy. Good food portions and service. I really recommend this place. To me cherry on top was there was a parking garage right across the street and its free on weeknights and weekends. All in all a great experience. read more

Just love this place. Handmade cocktails are seasonal and awesome - and I don't even drink that much. Recommend Pimm's Cup and Speakeasy. The menu is fresh and diverse with many shareable side plates and apps. Crabmeat pizza is great as well as short rib mac n' cheese. Pineapple habenaro wings were good as well as wedge salad. I've dined (or drank) here now on over a dozen occasions so I figured I'd leave a review. Come to think of it I may have left one in the past but this would be an update. FOOD: IMHO this is one of the best most flavor filled places to dine in Media. A solid menu with specials that change weekly will always have something to satisfy your appetite! I highly recommend the octopus, the prosciutto fries and the devilled eggs as starters. Every pizza is amazing and the pizza chefs are some of the hardest working guys in the place! DRINKS: Very decent, yet pricy, whisky selection. A great list of cocktails anchored in my opinion by their Manhattan which I believe they make their own cherries and bitters for. We are trying to make it through the entire cocktails menu before they change up some of the seasonal drinks. STAFF: In the past I had found some of the staff a little bit pretentious and hostesess somewhat rigid but lately everyone has been great! Special shout out to our favorite server Liam, the pizza chefs and Shelly who I believe is a manager and spent some time with us sharing knowledge of the food and whisky that makes the place great. AMBIANCE: a really cool place visually, hipster/steam punk decor and reclaimed materials make the place really stand out, however they don't make for the most comfortable seating. That and the sometimes high decibel levels are the only things that kept this from being a 5 review. Because of the current upswing in friendly staff we now try to get here at least once a week! We only waiting about 20 Mins at the bar and were able to be seated. Our server Brandon was awesome, he has thorough knowledge about the menu, was able to recommend certain beers and speciality drinks. We took his advice and ordered the mango habanero wings, the crab pizza and stuffed pineapple, all were amazing. The speciality drinks were delicious, perfect taste.
