Visited Brickhouse Diner based on reviews. Ordered the BHD Benedict for breakfast and was honestly not impressed with the food or aesthetics of the restaurant. Please see details below: Aesthetics: When I arrived I was escorted by a server to a table she had to clean off prior to me being seated. While eating my breakfast I had to move my plate several times because water from the ceiling was dripping on my food. Service: When the waitress came to bring me the check I showed her the leaking roof and informed her I was dissatisfied. She stated that she would share with a manager and took my payment. I never saw her again. Food: Egg Benedict is my go to for breakfast. Brickhouse Diner's was not good. The crab meat had shells and was not warm. The hollandaise sauce was more yellow in color than I have seen in the past and was not seasoned at all. The muffin was fresh out of the package so it wasn't warm. I arrived during the breakfast rush around 9am. This place gets alot of business and wanted to see what the hype was about. The host was nice and seated us quickly. However, I cant say that for the waitress. She was rude and very short. I ordered the Crab Benedict. The egg was over cooked. The sauce was just okay. One of our go to places for breakfast as the eggs Benedict are superb. Hollandaise sauce is home made and the food is always hot. We are lucky to have this local eatery Update. We missed going here so made a return today. Neither of the two women at the check in were wearing masks. We arrived at the restaurant at 1:45 on a Monday and it was surprisingly very busy. We're asked if we were mine being seated outside. The outside was tempted and was warm and comfortable. The tables and chairs were clean and comfortable. Our server Brianna arrived quickly with a big smile and asked if we wanted something to drink. She gave us time to look over the menu which had a lot of items. I chose the chicken BLT pretzel and my husband ordered the belly Buster burger. There is nothing that identifies this as a Greek restaurant. I ordered the lasagna expecting traditional Italian and instead it was this nasty Greek lasagna. Owner said I should have known being in a Greek restaurant. When I received the check he had credited me for the meal. I never asked him to do that. I'm not a charity case looking to screw them out of a buck. It offended me. So for a tip I gave the waitress my typical 25% plus the cost of the meal. read more

They earned a 3 rating today because of their customer service. The food is good and I have never had any problems before. My 89 year old mother likes to eat here and I have been here several times with her. As I do every Christmas, I drove over today from the far west end of Richmond (22 miles one way) to purchase a $50 gift card for her to use. There was a sign posted at the register stating "Buy a $30 gift certificate and get a mug or a mason jar with it). After the transaction was completed, I asked for the mug or jar, no preference. The 2 young hostesses at the counter advised me that those only came with the $30 gift cards/certificates. Excuse me but I just spent $50 here and that's not good enough? Worst customer service experience of my entire life and it was from the manager!!! We are (were) regulars of this establishment. We have eaten at Brick House Diner three times this week alone. Today for my birthday when my girlfriend asked me "what do you want to do today?" My response was "I don't care all I want is a shrimp po boy from Brick House" Everything went fine until the very end. I ate less than half my sandwich and fries so I put the rest in a togo box. I accidentally left the box on the table and realized it right after leaving. I turned around and went right back to get my food and I was informed that they had immediately thrown it away as soon as I left. I asked them to please re make the food I paid for (half of a po boy was fine by me) and the manager Angel down right refused to replace anything. Telling me it was my fault for leaving it in the first place. She showed absolutely no empathy for my situation and handled it in one of the worst ways someone in her position could have handled it. She completely alienated me in the process by telling me she wasn't going to "give away a free sandwich". Nevermind the fact that I had just paid for my meals less than 4 minutes prior (and I tipped the waitress 35%)!!!! As I was walking out the door Angel yelled loudly "OH AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" UN BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!! Angels customer service sKIlls aren't just sub par they are non existent! We were regulars at BHD and this whole experience has totally crushed us. Finally checked out this local spot on a Saturday morning! Boy was it busy! We waited about 20 minutes for a table. However once sat our service was prompt and efficient! I had the pancake platter which was a ton of food! 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, 2 huge pancakes, and a side of cinnamon apples all for less than $10 - what a deal! My husband loved his omelet which also came with pancakes. Their pancakes are very sweet and smell amazing. Biggest complaint is the parking situation. Absolutely no spots were open so we parked across the street at the school. Unfortunate that their neighbors aren't more accommodating on the weekend since they aren't even open. Looking forward to coming back and checking out lunch and dinner. read more

Friendly service and there was always somebody refilling the coffee. Busy place, but we didn't have to wait. Country Fried Steak was crispy which was a good thing. Love this place for a weekend breakfast or a mid week lunch. Always friendly. The waitstaff really hustles. The food is consistently delicious. Breakfasts are BIG. We love to get the big breakfast of 2 eggs, toast, hash browns, and pancakes. We don't eat again for the rest of the day! Lunch is usually a very fresh Greek salad or a Gyro - their specialties. I must first of all start by saying the parking lot here is god awful! It's tiny and the layout doesn't make sense. It was extremely stressful to park and it was a Monday morning so I personally would never even think to attempt coming here on the weekend. The place itself is small as well which results in short but awkward waits as there is no real waiting area. You're two steps from the hostess stand and are dodging people coming and going and trying not to make eye contact with people sitting and eating within arms reach. Once we were seated I was pleasantly surprised with both our service and our food. I got the sausage gravy and it was thick and filling. It was so much food - definitely a bang for your buck.
