Hands-down my favorite restaurant in the area. They are also locally owned! #SupportRVA. I LOVE Greek food (the owners are Greek) and Americana. My favorite dishes are: the Greek salad, Crab cake sandwich, Greek spaghetti , and a side (it's a huge portion) of their French fries which are the best out of any restaurant around. The owners are super congenial too and are often there. They will be moving down Midlo Trnpke to have a bigger building and parking lot soon. Until then, do not miss this Richmond gem. read more

In town for a soccer showcase and after our morning match, I was craving some good diner food. I came across this place via Google and it didn't disappoint. It is a simple little place with lots of seating inside. Menu had all the breakfast/brunch diner classics and would suit anyone's appetite. I ordered the eggs and hash with a side of bacon and sausage links. The eggs were scrambled perfectly and rested on a bed of corned beef hash. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the sausage links tasted great. Will definitely visit again if I'm ever back in town. P.S. - my server was so kind and courteous. So this may be confusing but keep reading ... I discovered this place recently and fell in love with it . The food here is Ay-May-Zing. Went on a Saturday afternoon and went back the next day on Sunday. Yes I was that impressed. So why the 2 stars you may wonder. The last time we dined with brick house everything was wonderful. The waitress brought me another tea and set it down on the table. As I went and picked the tea up the entire bottom of the glass fell out and I was soaked in tea. And I understand things happen so I don't fault them for that. What I have a problem with was the manager never came over and apologized or even to check to see if we were OK. The young hostess was attentive helping me to clean up the mess off the table and got me some towels so that I could dry off. They had to remake my meal and even though I didn't expect to receive it for free I did think a 25% off to come back or something would have been appropriate. It is small. The parking lot is small and it is almost always full. There's a reason for that. Service is great & the food is fresh. You can taste the quality in the ingredients that are used and the care taken while preparing meals. I'm impatient by nature, but don't mind waiting to eat here. read more

There is not much left to say about Brickhouse Diner that hasn't already been said. Like one fellow Yelper said "If you want a home cooked breakfast without cooking it yourself, come here." I couldn't agree more. I've been to Brickhouse Diner twice now. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. The food here is all business and straight to the point. At the time of this writing there are about 40+ pictures and I feel those pictures speak for themselves. The wait staff has been perfect on both occasions. They move people in and out of this place with fantastic precision. This is something I greatly appreciate. Good service goes a long way with me. Update: 7/2018 Can I give this restaurant any more stars because they deserve it! 10 food 10 customer service 10 consistency Brick house Diner is at the very top off my list to eat brunch. I eat here at least 3x a month. There is usually a 15 minute wait on the weekend but sooo worth it. My favorite dish is the Eggs Benedict with Crab (BHD Eggs Benedict). A great local spot for delicious breakfast options. I a perfectly executed egg white omelette, with a side of kielbasa. Obviously something I can make at home, but didn't feel like making, and sometimes you and your bae just need to go out for breakfast and sometimes you don't feel like crossing the "riva." There is another spot on Hull who's name has Egg in it, and they "and I" have had a tough time with my orders. We love Brickhouse Diner! We started coming here a few years ago when my husband coached at Midlothian High School... since we lived on the other side of Midlothian at that time. Now it's become a great go to spot for a low key breakfast /lunch/ dinner spot. We even got to try dinner to go recently which was great. We've been there for breakfast and have had a variety of items... Breakfast Croissant Sandwich w/ bacon, egg and cheese (which is good but I don't really understand why it is served on such a little plate... it just makes for messy eating), Country Fried Steak skillet, also good but be prepared to loosen your pants you will need it to finish it, Chocolate Chip Pancakes and The Silver Dollar Pancakes with chocolate chips (my daughter's favorite).... all yummy. I've also heard from a girlfriend that the Cinnamon Swirl pancakes are to die for but they don't always have them. As for dinner we've had their Southwestern Burger ( great if you love BBQ), the Authentic Gyro (delish if you like lamb), Souvlaki Gyro (delish but not the typical cut of meat... imagine a pan fried pork chip cut in chunks... but surprisingly very tasty), Classic or Turkey Reuben both are equally delicious if you like Reuben's, Buffalo Chix Wrap (I've had better, I'd order something else... unless you like a cold wrap), Chicken a la Pepperoni (imagine spaghetti with meat sauce topped with breaded chic pepperoni throughout and a layer of cheesy goodness... you will have leftovers), and the Fried Chicken special they had as a dinner special (it's okay, I've had better fried chicken, a little too dry for my liking). P.S. The tsatziki sauce is so good here with the gyro's I always order an extra side... also swap the chips for fresh cut fries that go with the wraps and sandwiches are always crispy and delicious... I always order a side of ranch to go with it. Can't forget the awesome Baklava a la mode... best Baklava in a restaurant in RVA (well at least in my opinion). It is a such a huge portion and tastes great. Brickhouse actually went through some minor interior decoration improvements the last year or so... I think it looks nicer, not as homely looking as it previously did. All in all if you are looking for an affordable meal and good food... you will need to check it out! read more

Knowing that we were going to be out in the Midlothian area on a late Saturday afternoon myself and my companions decided to seek out a locally-owned eatery and found this little diner just over a mile west from the new Wegmans on Midlothian Turnpike. Most diners that I have been to have a plethora of selections which end up being mind-bending when trying to decide on what to eat. The fact that this family owned little diner does not have a huge selection was actually surprisingly helpful. I mean the selection is still huge it's just not 20 pages long. Most diners serve breakfast all day long I was surprised to not see this on their menu, I'm not sure if they have a breakfast menu available for lunch or dinner and I forgot to ask. This restaurant is obviously frequented by regular customers because I could overhear several conversations around us including our server being asked about specific items that evidently have recently been removed from the menu. Apparently they had a wider variety of Greek items but they have simplified the menu. I looked in envy as a gentleman next to me was enjoying his gyro I was very tempted to get that, I love a good gyro, I'll be sure to try it next time, had just had Greek the night before. I tried the Mac Attack Burger, which is a huge steak burger on a brioche bun topped with crispy fried macaroni and cheese bites and smothered with American cheese. The bun was absolutely delicious, probably one of the best I've ever had. The burger was very juicy and tasted like it had been cooked out on a grill. I loved the crispy macaroni and cheese bites, I had to pick them off and eat them separately because it was too much to get in my mouth the way they had it built. Most items come with either a side of fries or their home fried potato chips, I tried the chips which were overly salty but had a great flavor. One of my companions had french fries with her blue Burger and the french fries were outstanding. I'm looking forward to returning to this little place, the service was not the best in the world but they do have a lot to offer, a lot of variety , and clearly it has the following as it 4 p.m. it was really Rockin and Rollin. I was really disappointed with the souvlaki gyro. It wasn't marinated cubes of pork like the menu described it was a chopped up pork chop because I bit into bones while I was eating. There was nothing authentic about the Greek side salad dressing that seemed watered down with a lot of oil and not enough red wine vinegar. I've been to plenty of Authentic Greek places and this was not one of them. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because my husband ordered a burger and he really enjoyed it and the service was great even though it was a full house and a very busy Saturday night. read more

I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich w/ side of fries The food came quick, and the portion size was generous. The fries were ok, a little on the greasier side and not very seasoned. The sandwich was good, though once again the seasoning was not very flavorful. The buffalo had a very mild kick, I was hoping for more spice, and the mozzarella didn't melt very well. All the veggies were fresh and the bun was a tasty brioche so nothing to complain about there. Overall the food was alright but the flavors were somewhat lacking. The service was fast and friendly, no complaints there. Nothing really to note about ambiance either, just a cute little restaurant on the side of the road. Outdoor seating may make this a great spot to go during the summer. The menus and glasses are neat too. Overall the food was good, and the service was solid. I may come again, but the one thing that is ticking it down from a 4 is that they stop selling breakfast at 10:50.
