We stopped by Brick House Tavern + Tap around 10:00 PM after a long day of traveling. We had a large group of 11 people, including five children, and were looking for a local place where we could all relax and enjoy a good meal. Despite our large party, we were seated immediately with no wait. Our server greeted us quickly, took our orders right away, and our food came out much faster than we expected. We ordered a little bit of everything--from kids' meals and appetizers to steaks and the duck wings. The duck wings were definitely a standout and were absolutely worth ordering. The only minor issues we had were that the queso arrived only warm instead of hot, but our server took care of it immediately without hesitation. I also ordered a steak that wasn't quite what I was expecting, although that may have been due to a miscommunication on how I wanted it cooked. What really stood out was the hospitality. Even though we were the last guests in the restaurant, no one made us feel rushed. Instead, the manager came over, welcomed us, checked on our experience, and even shared a few laughs with our group. That level of customer service made a lasting impression and really ended our evening on a positive note. Overall, we had a great experience. Our first time and last. Our server (Evelyn) was very rude. As we getting ready to pay, she was given a gift card and the rest in cash. She said they didn't have pennies anymore; or any other change to give back. There was no change in the register, we said no problem. We found that kind of weird. The point is not the change but the way she went about it. As we are leaving the restaurant she passed by us and said here is your penny I got it from my car. We were surprised by the way she acted towards a customer, we already knew about the change situation and we didn't care. She wanted to humiliate us. She doesn't deserve to work with the public or in a restaurant especially. Where people spent their money so she can have a job. (For the record a tip was given something that she doesn't deserve) You are not entitle to it you have to earn your tip. read more

The restaurant is very large with free parking in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is famous for its crafted beers. The noise level is a little high from the loud music. The menu is extensive with appetizers, side dishes and full meals. The server Abbey was outstanding. The prices were reasonable. All the dishes served were very good. read more

Came here after a work event - seemed to be the easiest place to host a number of people at once. They gave us a nice long table way at the back to sit by ourselves, but was a bit difficult to find my way in or out. Once I did see everyone, I sat down to look at the beer menu - small and nothing my style. At all. Some IPAs, some generic brand beers, but quite a small local/craft tap list. So yeah, I echo reviews that this place is super-chainy. In lieu of a beer (or two), I ordered myself a calamari dish. Kinda craving that. It came out quite oily, sliced too thin (or they used a cheaper frozen product with thin skin, because it didn't taste as luscious as calamari ought), so finishing it was a bit of an ordeal. But I did. For science. I will say service was nice. People liked the giant pretzel although it was rather plain compared to typical pretzel dough. There were some other apps passed around that I sampled, again nothing special. I will say they did a good job to serve a large group, though I think at one point they got a beer wrong and were very confused what to do. Fortunately I wasn't the one paying, but unfortunately that means I can't verify what was charged. In the end, Brick House is serviceable. But if I can't even find a beer at a tavern & tap? Not coming back. I think there's a reason this place is so much less crowded than Tommy's. read more

We arrived and were seated quickly and with a smile. We put our drink orders in and someone stopped by worried that we were ignored. We were all set but great attention to the details. The Brick house tavern was truly made into a surreal experience of liquid harmony. At The Brick Tavern the water was so magnificent that's the water descending down your throat feels like a celebrity strutting down the red carpet attending a large event. The ice which floated atop the water was exceptional with just the right amount, not to little to let the water warm yet not to much to take away glass space from the actual water. The glass and the straw contrasted so naturally together, where the only way to describe it is like an eastern grey squirrel and an oak tree in the fall. And the taste of the water itself has surpassed indescribable. All i must say now is, just try it. read more

Miserable. First of all, we sat for a while before our waiter came to take our order. Then it took a long time for the food to arrive. When the food finally came, we couldn't eat, because they still hadn't brought silverware. The grilled chicken sandwich was repulsive - the chicken was dry, mealy in texture and had no flavor. The mushroom & arugula flatbread was drowning in dressing and only became edible after removing the arugula. Always enjoy stopping by here for a cocktail and quick snack. Today I had a glass of Prosecco, Caesar salad, chicken tenders with fries and everything was very good. This was actually one of the most terrible experiences we've had eating out in a while. None of the appetizers came out at the same time and when they came out, they were all overcooked and were not correct. They completely forgot one order and told us it was given to another table by accident . When the food finally came, it was all overcooked, dried out, and seemed like it had been sitting underneath heat lamps, but was not warm. Our grandkids tater tots were more like tater rocks. All of the burgers were dried out and overdone. The shrimp were rubbery, which suggests they also got left out or overcooked or both. The table had not been cleaned. It was all sticky, so we had to use the wet wipes they give you to clean the table before the food came out. The server seemed disinterested at the least and showed no interest in realizing that the order that had come out was not what we had placed. Went for Friday Happy Hour to watch the World Cup game. Awful experience. We were a group of 8 and got seated in a corner with all the TVs turned off. Asked if they could turn one on and they never did. Took server 20 minutes to come over, and probably close to 45 minutes before we even got water (the food actually came out first). Yelp needs to adjust their rating system to include zero stars. This mess hall doesn't even deserve that. I ordered one of THE simplest items you find on a menu--a Caesar salad. And yet somehow they couldn't do it. Nothing but lettuce, stale croutons, and thick, HUGE onion ends. Was told the dressing contained anchovies (which traditional caesars do). That was a flat out lie. This crap came directly out of a grocery store jar. $9 for a side salad--same quality you can get at any $2 fast food restaurant. My friends got the burger & mahi mahi; both were trash. Dry fish, boring burger. Came to grab a drink after our dinner. Fairly straightforward place - helps that it's right off Route 1 and wasn't totally packed like Tommy's Tavern, even factoring that it's college football season. I'd say the drinks are fairly affordable. I think the fireplace/firepit seating around the bar is kinda cool, not gonna lie. Plenty of bar tables around there for for a true tavern-like feel. Extremely disappointing experience. We made a reservation for a group of 30 -- including kids -- and the restaurant accepted it, only to cancel an hour later claiming a reservation "came through on OpenTable." This isn't how a professional business operates. If you can't handle group reservations, don't take them. Our group was ready to bring in significant revenue, and instead we were left scrambling for a last-minute alternative because of their poor management and communication. The pour was what I refer to as corporate which means light on alcohol. The local beer was cold and tasty. If your in the area, check them out. The highlight of this restaurant was the fireside seating! If you plan to come to the brick house tavern & tap, I recommend that you ask to be seated alongside the fireplace. In a town drowning in chain restaurants Brick House is the chainiest. It's a Landry's special for sure - could be an old English pub, could be a shrine to the long defunct Bennigan's. In any case there is nothing remarkable about this casual dining throwaway except for the dimmest of lighting to add atmosphere and challenge your cataracts.
